Woot used to be a fun quirky sale site. Prices were good, and the staff actually seemed to care when I had the rare problem. THEN... Amazon bought them. Now, service stinks, real deals are few and far between, and staff are basically corporate droids. It's a dumping ground for anyone who wants to "sponsor" a "deal" (read inflated rating Chinese crap). I miss the old Woot, but it only exists in name now.
I bought a refurbished HP computer last month, and have had nothing but trouble. Hours with HP, and more hours with Microsoft. The computer came with absolutely no documentation (eg the Product code for Windows 8.1). Woot explains on their site that you are on your own. They basically fence junk, and take no responsibility for it. Oh what a mistake. Might be OK for a tee shirt or something, but I would definitely stay away from electronics or anything costing over, say, $20.
Misfit items delivered and support contact replied to indicate no returns but suggested to selling them to friends & coworkers. Such thoughtful suggestions to get the problems off their books. I am now woot-no more.
I have purchased numerous items from this site and never had an issue. Most things really are a bargain. Most are good quality but occasionally an item leaves something to be desired. However, that's the buyer's fault for not checking out the item since they send exactly what they advertised. There are several regular customers who usually post links to other sites for reviews of the products and they post them even if the review is not that flattering. I've never bought shirts or wine, but the other items are as advertised and the daily dialog between the talking monkeys is good for a laugh. I check this every day.
I though safe to buy from this site because part of Amazon. But No! Woot might give good deal in front of their website but business is like operating from back of a van. They ignore customer's email for days. I have to contact Amazon people and still haven't solve the problem yet. Do not buy from them. Just stick with Amazon to buy what you need.
This site sells random products at cheap prices, until they are gone.
First of all, it's not like Amazon or Overstock. You can't just pick what you want. You have to check the site daily to see if they are selling something that you want. They sell 1 single product per day, and it's a toss-up as to what will be on there. You can go a month without seeing anything you'd even be remotely interested in, but when they do, the prices are REALLY cheap!
I have this site in my RSS reader, so I will always see the deal of the day!
Twice now I've purchased items from Woot now who doesn't stand behind the item but sends you to the manufacturer who won't even respond. Stay away from Woot or take your chances. I'd have given less than one star if it was possible.
I think that many of the 5 star reviews must be from employees of Woot because that's the only way most of the reviews would ever give this company 5 stars. Worse customer service on the internet. Took forever to ship out my purchase and I emailed them several times about the delay, they promised they would get back to me in 24 hours but never did. I would recommend a company that actually wants return customers.
I should have really read all the negative reviews before buying at Woot, i am an Amazon prime member and do 95% of my shopping on amazon, so trusted them as woot was their company... BIG MISTAKE... second purchase... UPS posted tracking as delivered...(sometimes they mess up) and with Amazon they always investigate and ship replacement... not with woot... they simply told me to call UPS... UPS simply ignored me as i cant even send e mail there without a customer number that woot never supplied and calling UPS is a nightmare by itself. So Woot has no customer service and you rely on a 50/50 chance to get your stuff.
A total nightmare!
I have purchased refurbished units from Canon and Apple without any problems! They are were/are in pristine condition and look/operate like they are brand new!
A factory reconditioned Samsung Galaxy S4 was purchased for my son from Woot. I was under the impression. "factory reconditioned" means it has been restored to almost like new condition. The phone was heavily soiled, severely scratched and gouged frame, had sticker residue all over the back of the phone, a dead charge, and to top it off had a severely shattered camera lens. I paid good money well over a 100.00 for a piece of trash. Furthermore, I was insulated by the customer service agent whom in their email (no customer phone service), asked if they took an additional 20.00 off; If I would keep it! Why don't you take the 20.00 dollars you had tried to bribe me with and fix the phone so the next person won't have such a hideous experience like I had! What a disgrace!
In these times, when online companies have to pay attention to their customer service, Woot is so bad that I use their customer service is the reason why Amazon is the only place to shop these days.
Woot sells awful products at great prices.
And you can further torture yourself by trying to get help from their customer service. I bought something from them. After exchanging a few emails with their customer service about the order, it dawned on me - these guys don't care. They got my money and it is not coming back, no matter what. So why waste more time on this. I cut my losses and learnt the hard way about this company.
For a deep discount website WOOT is excellent. If you do not expect timely shipping and Amazon quality customer service, you can get great deals. While it is true that most of their merchandise is refurbished, the warranty on the products are usually the same as new, and the re-certification process is often more rigid than for new. What really impresses me about WOOT is that they do issue a refund if you cannot negotiate a suitable result with the manufacturer. All sales are not final. They have a very clear return policy and state up front that you pay return postage, etc. This is somewhat rare in the world of deep discount sellers. I've placed orders for big ticket items ($250 and over), and am very satisfied. Waiting 3 weeks to receive a FANTASTIC deal is not a problem, and I've never had to return anything.
I have used Woot several times and had okay luck. NOT this time. Took my money and sent me a confirmation with a USPS tracking #. Over three weeks later, no item and USPS says tracking # is not valid. Woot does not have a telephone number. Your only way to contact them is by email. They claim they will get back to you within 24 hours. It has been 3 days now and no word from them? I will give them another few days and then go through my VISA credit card to get my money back. Never again.
Product came, but definitely not first quality Ralph Lauren t-shirts. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and I did. Never again will I use this site. I will stick with Amazon and Groupon who stand behind their products
WOOT WOOT!
This site is pretty awesome, new deals everyday (starting at midnight). Some stuff sells out quick, if it's something good. Bought a few things from them, there is also a community sourced Deals tab, which people post deals they have found and were nice enough to share with everyone else. One of these days I'm going to buy a "Bag o' Crap" from them, it's their version of a Mystery Box. Definitely recommended.
You are just as likely to get the wrong product or be scammed out of your money. There is absolutely no customer service at this company. If you do reach someone after an hour or longer of wait, they'll just blame someone else and tell you to call them. Two banks, and multiple departments at amazon have pointed the finger at woot. They just don't have anyone willing to help.
I've made many purchases through woot.com and never had a problem. I generally buy their t-shirts from the derby. The sizing is pretty accurate and now they offer two different manufacturers of shirts so you can pick the one you want. The American Apparel tends to run a little smaller than the Standard. I have noticed, the Standard tends to draw up ever so slightly after washing, so I am more mindful of that when ordering now.
I ordered several items without an issue. But when I only received a partial shipment It was impossible to get any response from their customer service department.
After 3 weeks and several messages to them I'm disputing the charge with my credit card.
It's just not worth the hassle. In the future I'm not going to bother with them.
I really like this site - they would get 5 stars, except that they do sell out of their good deals. Makes sense, but I'm upset when I miss out. Lol
I check their site first thing in the morning to see what the deal of the day is... and then check it with amazon or someplace else - just to see if it's a good deal or not. Sometimes yes - sometimes no. What I have ordered - I'm very happy with and they are quick to ship out. Overall... woo hoo for Woot!
I have ordered a couple of t-shirts back in December 2020. After 4 months and 3 complaints to support that I didn't receive it and that it wasn't even shipped, I have got a refund notification with an explanation, that they are not able to ship internationally. Never had problems with international shipping, also the support was assuring me every time that they'll send it immediately. They used a snowstorm as an excuse once. The realization that they can's ship internationally after 4 months is pretty sad. Because of that, I can't recommend them and also I don't plan any other orders at this company.
Answer: Not until you buy something... then you're screwed!
Answer: Only can contact through email. If you are looking to be tortured in return process it is comparable to waterboarding
