I had the WORST experience with them. I called total of 5 times to try and connect to their Corp Acct department, never succeeded. 5 reps got my phone number and email address and no one returned my calls. I ended up going to Capalbo's in NJ, they have first class service, once I put in my order I got a call and they walked me through the pricing and are now shipping my order. NEVER again!

DO NOT USE THIS SITE
December 8, 2018

I tried to order from this company twice. I should've learned my lesson the first time when the charges were reported as fraud. The second time they deleted my account all together. BOTH TIMES I WAS CHARGED. Customer service is absolute $#*!. I called and they never solved my issue. DO NOT USE THIS SITE unless you want to spend time calling your bank/credit card company to cancel charges. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

DISAPPOINTING...
September 11, 2020

Ordered a case of wine to be delivered on 9/7/2020. Checked on my status and it has not shipped yet. Chatted and they said they would report it to someone or I could call customer service. I called customer service 10 times and got this: "there is no customer service available right now". No communication from them after leaving 12 chat messages & emails. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE & NO DELIVERY!

Delayed delivery
September 19, 2020

I placed two separate orders with them on September 8,2020 and they delivered on September 19,2020. I was very pleased. Them, I placed a third and a larger order on September 16th. I received a confirmation order for delivery on September 18th. On September 19th, their CEO sent ma do not reply email saying that some orders were delayed because of a system update. The next day I received a good news e-mail saying that the weather conditions have improved and that they were preparing my order. I called their customer support. Nobody answers. I sent them emails, they go to a black hole. Now I will wait a few more days and then cancel the charges on my credit card through my bank.

I ordered about 16 bottles from wine.com on Nov 18th before googling reviews about wine.com.
Whilst waiting for my delivery and reading the negative reviews, I was nervous if my shipment was going to come on time as I require the wines for Thanksgiving. The ETA on my shipment was listed Nov 20th about end of day. Today is Nov 20th and my wine has arrived at my door before midday.
I think my shipment came quite quickly as I did a quick search to where they are located, in Westbury NY. I live in Brooklyn NY so I assume may be that is why I had no issues with my order and that it arrived on time.
I wouldn't say wine.com is cheap however I was fortunate that I had no issues like other neg reviewers here. Was very pleased with the delivery and the selection of wines they have on offer.

Terrible customer service

I have a futures order that was due Fall of 2020. I've tried both online chats and calls to resolve—either get the wine or get my $1000 back. No callbacks no resolution. Expensive lesson.

What I like about Wine.com is their large selection and wine reviews. Their prices are never the lowest but I was able to buy certain brands and vintages that were hard to find locally. I joined their stewardship program to save on shipping costs but after a couple years of getting very slow deliveries, I dropped that program cost. I was always told that delivery was by FedEx and would arrive in 2 days. I never received a delivery in less than 7 days. In tracking the shipments (and confirming with FedEx) I learned that shipping was by truck and was often delayed by weather and the wine was shipped to large distribution centers before being delivered. So, it takes a lot longer than 2 days to deliver from California to the Midwest (MO & IL). Customer service continues to swear by their 2-day delivery policy. Unfortunately, I fell victim to their "free shipping" offer again this month and ordered some wine for a dinner party 7 days out. I got the wine on the afternoon of the 8th day. Stupid me. I am done as a customer and I want to warn prospective customers. Just search and buy local. It will save you a lot of aggravation.

Stay Away from Wine.com

We have had countless issues with Wine.com, but because of the pandemic, kept giving them another chance, but I would not recommend doing the same. In general, they provide you with false shipping estimates, and we have had some orders arrive 4 weeks after they were originally expected. Our last order was originanly supposed to arrive on 2/2. Then Fedex changed the shipping date to 2/5. Not a big deal. Then they changed the date to 2/8. When it was delivered 2/8, it was clear that somewhere during the shipping process, Fedex had allowed the box to freeze (it was being delivered to Chicago. Surprise, it's cold here in February!) One bottle had popped it's cork and was spilling all over the box. Two other bottles had popped their foil and had corks that were almost all the way out. We assume the entire case was frozen and thawed. I emailed customer service with no response. I attempted to "chat" with a customer service representative who told me that I could return the case but that they would not accept the opened bottle for a return or credit because it was against policy. How does this make sense when the bottle arrived opened to my home? Then the chat was cut off with no instructions or help for making a return. In short, we are out quite a bit of money for wine that is ruined. I would not shop here again given their lack of interest in resolcing what was most likely a failure on the part of Fedex.

I was a large customer under one email address and, for accounting purposes, needed to order under a new account. I opened the account at wine.com and placed an order for 2 cases of Cava. The order was a rush due to limited time i had before an event. Instead of calling me to confirm the order they canceled it and shut my account down assuming fraud. Further after multiple calls I found their customer service to be EXTREMELY poor. Moreover I finally received an email explaining they suspect fraud and they will not process any of my orders in the future. In my time i have purchased over 50 cases from them over many years. Big screw up on their part and why? Because they simply didnt take the time to call a customer and just canceled. Nice move wine.com. I assume you are aware you are in a competitive market? (hint, I also OWN a winery!) Next time consider what customers you decide to treat poorly with assumptions and failed fraud algorithms. Another site took my order and fulfilled it fine. I have taken my business elsewhere and will never order from them again.

I wish I had read these reviews before ordering. This company is terrible. First, they didn't inform me that a gift I ordered for delivery was indefinitely out of stock and the email said it would be delivered -- until the recipient told me it hadn't arrived. I called and was told, "oh, that wine is out of stock." Apparently, I would never have learned that the wine I had gifted was never going to be delivered and I was charged anyway. I got them to substitute 2 other wines and deliver it, but then they charged my credit card for the original price (which was MORE expensive wine) AND also charged me for a mysterious $174 IN ADDITION to this, which a month later is still on my credit card and they can't explain why (saying 'it was a hold') and I have called twice and the customer service keeps disconnecting me. I'm going to have to file a complaint with my credit card to get this extra charge credited. They should be closed down. Don't order from them! (Naked Wines is much better, as I've learned.). Save yourself the hassle.

My recent Oct 14,2020 order was originally estimated to arrive on Oct. 19. By Oct 26, still no wine and no updates on their website so I called. I talked to a very helpful person who explained one of the bottles was out of stock and recommended a suitable replacement. I accepted the replacement suggestion (which was $4 cheaper than the original bottle) and received my entire revised order in a timely manner However, upon comparing the details of the revised order to the original order, I discovered that while the replacement bottle was indeed shown as $4 less, my overall bill was actually ~$1 more. Closer inspection revealed that my pretax total was correct, $4 less than my original order pretax total. However, the sales tax charged on the revised order was $5 more! I called again on Oct 27 and spoke to another person. After finally getting the rep to understand my confusion regarding how was it possible to pay more sales tax on a less costly order, she told me she would have her manager call me. So, as of Oct. 30, no call and also no answer to my 2 subsequent emails on the subject. Seems fishy to me!

WALK AWAY NOW. Silly me, I thought when a their ONLY product was WINE they would have a shipping method... I don't know... safe for wine? Or at least explain your shipping options to you before you purchase. Not the case. What happens is you purchase, then they tell you they can't ship wine using their normal methods until the temperature is below 85 degrees. So if you are delivering to FL or anywhere similar, you are looking at a 3-4 month wait. HERE'S THE WORST PART: after learning this I said just cancel my order, I'll do direct delivery from a local shop (this was for a gift). THREE customer service reps told me "No problem! You'll see the refund shortly" and then left the chat and/or phone call, and did nothing! Not only did I not get the cancellation confirmation, I kept getting shipping updates. It's as if they are actually trained to tell you "no problem" and then walk away without even trying to do anything. I've experienced bad customer service before, but this takes the cake.
