I was about to place a LARGE order (100+ bottles) for my company, including wine futures. No customer service at all. The online chat. Nobody responded... when they did they were not helpful, when i called during business hours, nobody was available, I emailed, called 5 times, wrote 3 times, tried everything. Really horrible... not worth even trying to buy from them - if there is an issue - you're screwed!

After having a shipment go missing some 5 weeks ago I have been trying to contact wine.com in all the ways listed on their web site. I've tried to call many times and was hung up on every time. Their "chat" has held me waiting for 45 minutes and longer with never anyone responding. Even their customer service email NEVER responds although the emails were sent over and over in the last month. I've never has such poor customer service from any company. I'll never do business with them again.

Problems Fixed
December 12, 2020

Whatever it is that was wrong with Wine.Com over this past summer seems to be fixed. My previous order was a disaster- delivered very late, no information, just awful. About 2 weeks ago I received a very nice apology and generous discount so I decided to try them again. Everything worked perfectly- delivered exactly as promised and I was able to use the apology coupon and made a second order to use a very good coupon that they had sent my husband. So if you used to like them, you might want to give them a second chance. We have been members for about 10 years and except for this past summer, have always been quite pleased with their service.

I almost didn't use this company because the ratings were so bad. I tried to order wine from another site, but they didn't have the wines I wanted so I came back to Wine.com.

I took a chance on these guys, and I'm so glad I did. I've placed 4 different orders so far, and all of them have been great. I did have some trouble initially with the discount codes, but I called customer service and they quickly took care of it.

I only drink organic wines, and honestly these are way better than the wines I get at my local store. I'm also loving the shipping program where you get unlimited shipping for 49.99 per year. I've saved $200 already with that option.

I really don't understand all the complaints, but I'm happy I gave them a chance.

I thought it would be nice to have good wines for Thanksgiving -- so I ordered two cases of wine to be delivered to my sister-in-law's house in Wisconsin. I ordered them on 11/16 and paid for second day UPS delivery. Imagine my surprise when I arrived today and discovered they would not be delivered until Friday, not useful for Thanksgiving consumption. I was offered the lame excuse that Superstorm Sandy had damaged Wine.com's NJ warehouse. While I am sympathetic -- I living in New York - Wine.com should not be accepting orders they can fulfill, particularly around the holidays. What did Wine.com offer as compensation? A $20 gift certificate. The should print it out and use it to start a fire under their Yule Log in December. Shame on Wine.com

If you live in a state that allows for the online delivery of wine, you have got to use wine.com. Way cheaper than using your local store, and a bigger selection than BevMo, and access to lots of reviews and information. Wine.com is the best way I know of to get wine, if you drink it often. Also they have a lot of obscure reds that I would have never tried otherwise.

UPDATE: I have ordered from them a few times since, without issue. I found that it's best to place small orders of just a few bottles at a time so that if one bottle is out of stock it doesn't cause your entire order to be delayed for no apparent reason. I am updating my previous review of 2 stars to 4.

I placed a couple of orders in the spring of this year, and all went well (except for issues with FedEx, but that's a different story). But now, I have placed an order that was supposed to be delivered two days ago and according to their website it hasn't even been shipped yet. I see now that there are tons of negative reviews for them in recent months. I tried to contact them for an update but I just get a canned response which still says that my expected delivery date is two days ago! I guess something bad has happened to this company (are they in the middle of the forest fires?) and we may never see our orders! Oh, well, so much for their year-long "steward' membership. Money wasted, apparently...

Don't trust them when they say that someone 21+ has to sign for the package. I placed two separate orders for two different people through this site. One was me, one was a friend. In both instances, the delivery driver dumped the package at the doorstep and forged the signature. Fortunately I happened to be home and have a ring alarm to alert me when mine was here. My friend, however, was out of town, and the package was on her step for days for anyone to take -- 21+ or otherwise. This is so illegal, I don't understand how this place is still in business.

Horrible experience
September 18, 2020

Horrible experience. I ordered on a Monday given that they said they would ship then. It's now Friday and they haven't started shipping. I have emailed customer service at least 3 times to cancel. No response. I have tried at least 10 times for online chat to cancel, but every time they disconnected me --the last time after being on hold for 90 minutes. They literally must have no or only one person handling orders and have a system where you can't communicate with them. This is the worst Internet buying experience I've encountered. I will not do business with them again.

Joke
September 11, 2020

They claim that they are upgrading their website for over a week and a half now nothing happens. You spent multiple hours online with customer service once they charge your card more than one time. No results and then their chat representative after you wait for 56 people in a Q for 45 minutes decides to in their chat. Do not bother ordering from this company because you will not get your order! You will however get a bunch of excuses on how system upgrades are causing all of these issues. Maybe they should test your system upgrade before you try to change your system.

Ordered 2 cases of wine; some not available; got an email saying a refund was processed to my card. That did not happen. Then only one box showed up when there was supposed to be two. Wine.com says they will refund if I refuse shipment. Unfortunately the FedEx number is bogus; Fed Ex does not have a shipment with that number and wine.com doesn't know where the wine is. So, I am supposed to refund an imaginary box to get my $400 back? Staff not helpful but that was because they had no information, no clue. Sent it to American Express for dispute

I bought the Stewardship and successfully ordered several cases in the Spring. Customer service was responsive. But then... thing deteriorated quickly. They botched several orders. I stopped using them for months. I tried another order in the Fall, and I was shocked that things got even worse - so bad that you would be foolish to deal with them. Try to chat with customer service, you'll be 100+ in queue and take over an hour to get someone. Orders are weeks past target date. There is no clarity on when things will be shipped. You'll get a partial fulfillment and they will claim the entire order was shipped.

I had my Stewardship dues refunded. I will never be ordering from them again.

A relative very kindly sent me a bottle of wine via wine.com after a death in my family. It took nearly 2 weeks to get here and is the worst tasting swill since drinking Ripple in my college days. Actually, the Ripple might have been better. I hate to think how much of her hard earned money she spent on this and, of course, I will tell her it tasted great which I imagine is how these people stay in business.

I am still waiting for a shipment that was promised, I tried to cancel but they kept me on hold for almost an hour before I had to give up. I am so sorry I did not read the reviews before using Wine.com. Stay away from this sham website, after you order, they have some lame warning about delays, lol, let people know BEFORE they order. Move to another service

I would give them no stars. The 3 Supervisors I've asked to speak with I'm still waiting on a call back. They blamed everything for the delayed shipping except themselves. The wine was not even in the same State on the day that I chose on wine.com to deliver. Do yourself a favor and use another company. There are plenty to chose from. I will never order from them again.

Worst Customer service ever
September 25, 2020

Started off ok, many of the wine are mediocre or very basic. Was told an order would be sent in 5 days. Over a month later no wine, tried to call, email and chat with Customer service was number 200 on chat and voice call. Cancelled the order and blocked the credit card from future orders. There are so many better places.

Wine.com appears attractive for price points and listed availability... but I have a major cautionary note to add. Their handling of orders, once placed, is inconsistent and often slow and sloppy. Most recent case in point: two orders from me with the same promised delivery date. Both orders languished for days before being filled and shipped. Both missed their promised delivery date. Events in two states were negatively impacted. And (!) the wine suffers two additional days in hot trucks.

Beware
July 13, 2019

Immediately after you order, it goes on a weather hold, so if you live anywhere in the south, then you won't get your wine until October even though you ordered it in July, because it is too hot, unless you contact them to take the order off hold, then... of course, then they want you to pay expedited overnight shipping, which is still not a guarantee. Just ignore on the site when it says "ships today if you order in 1 hour"... not true. Our gift hasn't been delivered yet, so hopefully, it will be the correct wine. To be continued
