Laughably bad service. I bought a $4k+ kitchen island and immediately the (supposedly) sealed countertop began to erode with the mildest of spills. I have so far walked into the store to ask what if anything I can do to improve sealer, at the associates direction called customer service, and sent three subsequent emails just to answer this question. Each time they seem to only know how to ask my name address and order number. The last email response said thank you for contacting Pottery Barn. Surprisingly poor quality furniture. Surprisingly bad customer service. Will be limiting my future purchases to only spatulas. Photo shows 1 area of erosion after lemon juice spill (quickly cleaned up). Approx total size that of a dollar bill.
Ordered $300 Smeg coffee grinder may 22. Website said fast shipping'. After payment delivery date was June 19. Then delivery moved to July 27. Now delivery is September 27 which is more than five months from order. Non stop aggravation dealing with them via phone, email, and social media. On July 16 Sara from Williams Sonoma twitter account blocked me so I can no longer inquired about my order with them. I had to file an FTC complaint.
Was notified that item is backordered after a week of purchase. They kept saying incorrect days on the phone when it will be shipped. Was with customer service for an hour to request some adjustments. Almost a month and it still says backordered & no updates and nothing happening. Will never buy from there again.
These folks have cornered the market on upper end items... culinary, home furnishings (Pottery Barn,) small gift items, etc.
HOWEVER, they treat their employees as slaves. They would rather hire and rehire than sustain good relationships with their current employees. They do not give regular merit raises. They force these people to work mandatory overtime for months at a time. Who can do that at 12.00 hourly?
Awful people.
WS's Reward Program is administered by Comenity Bank, the bank that administers WS credit card. There are too many levels of interface between the company and its Reward Program... not transparent at all. I contacted WS about an issue with my Rewards Certificate. Belatedly WS answered that I had to go through Comenity. After several try's and much hod time (over one half hour), I was finally told they could not help me as my issue had expired. The Rewards Program is designed to not be customer friendly... a very poor benefit.
WS has gone from a trusted and valued provider to a purveyor of cheap junk from China... lipstick on a pig at a high price. Let the buyer beware.
They took so long handling my order that was supposed to be a xmas present for the wifey... In March the following year I got an email that there was a problem with my payment method that the order was to be cancelled... that's because my credit card expired in the meantime, you knuckleheads...
In my opinion their stock price as of this writing of $151 is way too high... until they improve drastically!
To the best of my knowledge their brands include Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn/Kid/Teen, West Elm, WS Home, Rejuvenation, Mark & Graham
Everything I bought I received and it was all chef quality. Only two problems I have are you cannot get a hold of anybody at William Sonoma or manufacturers to get more info on a product and they do not offer auto pay.
I ordered monogrammed wine glasses. They have been sent TWICE without the monogramming! I've called company at lease 5 times! On hold for at least an hour each time! Needed this for a birthday gift. Such an awful company. Offered me a ten dollar gift card for my trouble. What a Joke! Don't order or buy Anything from them! If I could rate 0 stars I would!
Don't do it. Just say no. After two delays, I smelt Made In China coming. Welp, 4 March 2021 that walk like a duck was truth. The order was placed 9 January 2021. Horrible customer service when inquiry why such delays via Twitter and FB. Website never indicated backordered. You learn that after checkout. Spend your money else where. Avoid Made In China nothingness. Made In China is not special. It's cheap labor and cheap material. I purchased with a gift certificate, and I've told the party who gave me the gift cards that I shredded the others. What a waste of money.
We suggest to be careful placing orders that are bacorderdered They have been
Hitting my credit card number of times for the same item they have extremely confusing system and hit bank account with out authorisation keep saying it's just authorisation will fall off but balance decreased every time, and also very hard to get a call back from store manager he keeps saying he will call back and simply doesn't call back what can be worse? Employees at boca raton mean and highly incompetent, Ft. Lauderdale store employees including manager don't standby to to what they say and promise
Had two muffins pans one cracked and the other one didn't. Would they do anything? Nope! Better to buy any kitchen appliances from Walmart. This store wouldn't do anything. That's ok Will never go there again.
A Christmas gift ordered on 12-9-2019 containing two separate matching pieces. One was delivered with no issue and the second piece gave us a delivery date of Dec 13-16. Next email received on 12-18 stating estimated delivery 1-27-20 or 1-28-20! Why on earth would they sell something during the holidays knowing that the item wouldn't be in stock? Next email received on 2-2-20 stating there is an issue with the form of payment and I have three days to call or the order will be cancelled. The issue with the payment was that new credit cards were issued with new expiration dates. Had the order not taken two whole months this wouldn't have been an issue at all. Never again William Sonoma
So glad Chuck Williams, WS founder, cannot see his company now. I just received 2 food items three (3) months after ordering! I learned that website doesn't tell you when items are backordered! This is a terrible policy. During the 3 months, not one word from the company. Delivery date was moved forward a week or so innumerable times. I would have waited had I known items were not in stock. So post-pandemic I will shop only in person.
So disappointed with WS. We have bought all our cookware from them. Had a issue with one of the pans and they wouldn't do anything. I haven't been back. It's only after I had this happen to me that I've heard of so many others having problems. Word of mouth is a powerful tool.
I ordered my pregnant daughter who lives in Seattle….(I live far away)a birthday gift and it was a set of glasses. Delivered May 20. She preferred a different type of glasses so I said I would take care of exchanging them when I arrived in June. I did not realize there is a 30 day return policy when I tried to exchange them on June 24th! Missed the 30 days by 4 days. Glasses had never been out of the box. Rude sales clerk examined each glass, as if I had used them! No refund, no exchange! Too bad. Very poor!
Please do not waste your money on the Hot Chocolate Classic. 10 of 10 people all tried it and poured it out. Comments were: salty, nasty, disgusting! $20.00 for a product that doesn't compare to Swiss Miss for $3.00
I called Williams Sonoma at Friendly Center in GSO, NC and was told the company issues no refunds on food items. I am embarrassed that I gave this Hot Chocolate as a gift. The only positive is that the tin is cute.
This is where we go to walk in a circle through the store to see how much everything costs and how no one will assist you. We look at each other and smile because it is a great store with the most expensive kitchen appliance accessories anywhere. What we most love is the employees that are hired that know absolutely nothing about food but everything about plan-o-grams. Good job stocking upscale appliances for all of us 99 percenters to afford.
Terrible experience. The worst customer service from any company I have ever bought from, and I don't recommend buying from them. They kept delaying my order (two rugs) and sent me on rabbit trails to call and get anything sorted out-- then they told it's not their problem, it's their distribution center's problem and I had to deal with it or was out of luck. They wouldn't answer my emails or help me, even though I paid $250 in shipping...Their distribution center number was constantly busy. Wasted a lot of time and never got my order earlier...I wish I would have known this before buying from them. I'm really surprised they are even still in business with their terrible service. Don't buy from them or you'll regret it.
Took 4 months to receive 2 chairs—not coming from across the planet, coming from 2 states away. Now I realize they were sitting at a delivery hub for over 2 months, with NO notice to me. It would've been fine if they had originally estimated a 4 month delivery, or had kept me up to date in any way. Instead I had to keep following up, and I got the run-around every time. I ordered in September, and the original delivery window was mid-October. The delivery window got pushed back. Then pushed back again. And again, and again, while the chairs were sitting at a warehouse literally 10 minutes away. Finally they showed up 4.5 months later, with no notice. There was ZERO communication from the company the entire time. Every time I called customer service, they were just trying to get me off the phone, and flat out lied to me.
I can only think of one other time that I have had this bad of an experience with customer service.
I am in the same industry, so I am extremely patient. But, never have I had to be this tolerant of just down right rudeness.
I received someone else's package and never got my own. Should have been pretty simple.
Answer: Scam, questionable business tactics which are reported to the Better Business Bureau and American Express. Failure of customer service to respond within 72 hours as promised.
Answer: Because they are scamming to show higher sales numbers. Their systems can't even handle an address change ( when my order was delayed 5 months I needed the address changed due to a move).
