I would not recommend ordering from the website. The back order status of my item ( a set of bowls) was not stated when I ordered. Talking to Customer service both through e-mail and phone calls, status of my ordered changed daily. It has been over a month with back and forth calls and e-mails from me with various responses, and the delivery date gets pushed back every time. I tried to talk to a supervisor, which took two hours with really no results. Photo below shows one of many incorrect tracking info.
I was lied to twice when calling into customer service about a gift ordered for Christmas. Ordered (2) weeks prior to Christmas and still will NOT be here in time! Sad it takes over 2 weeks to ship to 2 states away and the constant lying by associates is disgusting. Never order from this place!
I am very disappointed in Williams Sonoma customer service because I have always been led to believe that they had excellent customer service; however, I recently ordered an item thru a bridal registry and had it wrapped and sent to the bride's requested location. Then, BEFORE the wedding even took place, the item I ordered was reduced in price by over $85! When I called W. S. customer service and asked for a price reduction, I was told they would do nothing. This is very upsetting.
Do not order e-gift card Card arrived with no gift message so bride didn't know who sent it. My receipt showed the gift message. Customer service said there was nothing they could.do No apology no follow up card etc. Idiots. Won't shop with them again.
The number they ask for to track your undelivered gift card (reported as having been delivered) is not accepted, however it is given, after several attempts. No record of my purchase, according to first human I spoke with. Next human I spoke with, when he actually started speaking into the phone, cut me off after some time I was on hold. Third human, after two attempts, got the number straight, tracked down the issue, and assured me a duplicate would be sent, to arrive in five days. We shall see. Two years in a row I've had a problem with WS gift card orders. Slow learner here, but I won't do it again.
For $103 I received a Buche de Noel that appeared to have been handled by a gorilla. The dry ice had completed sublimated. The much smaller cake box sat inside a much-too-large styrofoam container, which allowed it to literally bounce all over. The cake itself had completely defrosted, it was partially uncovered, and damaged. I'd planned to share it with neighbors on Christmas Day. Not happening. The only reason I decided on two stars instead of one is that WS's customer service was excellent and refunded my money immediately. The one star is for the worst shipping packaging I've ever see and that I can't bring what I promised to a Christmas party.
I once saw a Seinfeld standup routine where he talks about how he walks into a Williams Sonoma store and comes out with a pepper mill. And he doesn't even really know what a pepper mill is. I feel the same way. Williams Sonoma has a lot of food, home and kitchen related products and I have no idea what most of it is for. But what I do know is that most of their stuff is nice and if I need a present, I can always find something here.
Product was good but found that customer service did not know much about the kitchen products I was interested in purchasing. Better to go to a small business where the service is better.
I worked for this company for a bit, they incentivize employees to lie to customers to protect their performance reviews. The company marks up all items based on the brand name and the products can be purchased for cheaper from their competitors. Over all its not a company that you want to work with if you desire satisfaction and good customer service.
This company is a scam. On April 2, I ordered a product from Williams Sonoma and paid in full. It is now June 21 and still the product has not been received. However, today I got an advertisement listing the very same product for sale that I NEVER received.
Calls to Customer Service are unavailing. Repeated saying "I'm sorry" does NOT satisfy being charged for a product that hasn't been sent almost 3 months later. This company and its business practices are constitute a deceptive and unfair trade practice — it is downright fraudulent. Steer clear of Williams Sonoma!
Don't expect to get through easily to customer service. It took me 4 different tries, over an hour of frustration - including the calls being cut off and garbled sounds from reps with bad head sets, and unsatisfactory resolution of my complaint. The reps say there is no supervisor or manager to talk to but they can't resolve issues on their own. Completely bogus
I ordered furniture from Potter Barn and returned it due to shipping damage. I was not given all of my money back. They are holding $2300 for the dining room table. I was refunded by Amex, but now cannot order anything from any W-S brands because there is an open dispute between PB & Amex. This is the worst family of brands to buy from. Stick to your local furniture stores and use these curtain sites for design inspo only! BUYER BEWARE. Two thumbs down. Zero stars.
My local store has always had nice employees. However the news that WS laid off their temp workers a month before promised, a month before Christmas is disgusting and I will no longer support this company
We've been waiting for our William Sonoma dining room table since December 2021 and it's not October 11,2022. They confirmed delivery two weeks ago but only showed up with the table base. We denied delivery. We waited on the phone for a few hours to get through. Finally, get a message from them yesterday and the table will not be ready until March 2023. Empty dining room for the holiday season. "We are sorry and can give you your money back." Gee, thanks.
Ordered a bunk bed March 15th. Was told 3 week lead time then that changed to 4 months. Worst customer service ever! Tried to cancel with their customer service number several times. When I entered the number for cancellations and returns I was transferred and put on hold forever and then disconnected. I emailed and wrote to their corporate headquarters. No response. I was billed this week - 6/30 for the full amount. The last correspondence I received from Pottery Barn is it may ship in August. The only resource I have is disputing this with my credit card company. Pottery Barn has never responded to any of my cancellation requests.
I first ordered the basket and it would not let me send it to my Son and his family. Second-I had to order another one and I ended up with a duplicate sent to me. It was nothing like the picture. A sliver of Italian cheese, some Italian meat (maybe 4 oz.), 3 ordinary pastas in very small quantities and a can of tomatoes. Also a small bottle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Nothing special as a gift at all. I paid over $100. For this and had to order it twice? Never get anything from Williams Sonoma. They clearly are rip off artists. Lesson learned!
Long story short, I would never recommend anyone who's getting married ask for anything from this company, nor would I ever purchase an item from this store again. We received this item as a gift for our wedding registry. We received duplicates and tried to return this item and Williams Sonoma provided the worst customer service experience I've encountered. They 1st told me that they never received the return, then once they realized they did, they refunded the money to the wrong person, even after I confirmed my personal info with them. I days on the phone with them over the course of months, and it only took them 3 months to realize that they screwed up. If being misled is your thing, this is the store for you.
I ordered frying pan in April. It said it will be delivered August 31 LOL
Then after 4 emails asking why so long. They said the item is not available they will give me refund. Month later no refund but randomly they keep charging me different amount of $$$$

I ordered these beautiful caramel apples for Father's Day. The pictures online look fantastic and for $50 I expect them to be amazing. My dad received them today and they were a hot, melted, disgusting mess. I called customer service and all I was told is that they'll refund my money. Of course you're refunding my money. Barely an apology. They said that they're having issues with their shipping. That's it. Now my dad has nothing for Father's Day. Unacceptable.

It was delayed. After the 4th message asking me to be patient while they figured out where the item was in their warehouse, I was infuriated. Cancelled the order and requested and received an immediate refund. Do not trust this company!

Answer: Because they are scamming to show higher sales numbers. Their systems can't even handle an address change ( when my order was delayed 5 months I needed the address changed due to a move).
