After their Carbon update it's just bug after bug, problem after problem... The way it's going with support and tech fixing things, I calculate that my website, the one I worked on for months, will take 10 years to fix so it can be fully functional. Do yourself a big favour and use a platform like WordPress where there are not so many limitations and you can host your own website-- this is what the Pros do, for a very good reason.
I am finally through with Weebly. GOOD RIDDANCE! If it's just a blog or super simple website layout, you might be okay with Weebly, but other than that, SAVE YOUR SANITY and use something else for your web building! I will never use an editor like Weeby where I don't have 100% control of my site. Host your own site with Wordpress! Wordpress offers drag and drop templates too-- a lot of Weebly users don't realize that!
WHY SINCE SQUARE HAS TAKEN OVER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTING! YOU GUYS HAVE HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR US WHO HAVE BEEN WITH YOU FOR YEARS! NO ONE TO TALK TO A BOT THAT DOES NOT HELP! YOUR SERVICE NEEDS SERIOUS HELP AND IN THE MEANTIME I AM LOOSING SALES
About 6 months ago I left a review, shortly after the introduction of Carbon, with a one start on service. I have always been a fan of the Weebly application. Yes, they do have occasional glitches, but I am a realist and understand that technology will always have moments of dysfunction. Here is the very big PLUS to Weebly, their cost is relatively low for the overwhelming number of wonderful options and services that they offer. Especially for the business plan that includes eCommerce. If you compare their eCommerce prices to an applicant such as Big Commerce you will find that Weebly is 1) much easier to use 2) hundreds of dollars less every month. I have returned to write this review specifically because I have noted that in the last 6 months that Weebly seems to be making a significant effort to improve their service and communication. I recommend Weebly, just be prepared that when you are doing online web development that no matter what there is going to be down time. It doesn't matter what application that you go with. So, accept that probably once or twice a year you will have your website down for an hour, and hopefully it doesn't happen when you have a big sale or have spent a lot on a promotion!
If you're looking for a website builder that epitomizes frustration, inefficiency, and sheer lack of knowledge, then congratulations! #Weebly is the perfect disaster waiting for you. I've had the misfortune of using this platform, and let me tell you, it's been nothing short of a digital nightmare.
First off, let's talk about their so-called "customer service." I've encountered more knowledgeable toddlers than #Weebly's representatives. It's as if they've never even seen a website, let alone know how to build one. Every interaction feels like a blind leading the blind scenario, with me often having to educate them about basic website building concepts. How is that even possible?
SEO? Don't make me laugh. If you're hoping to rank anywhere on search engines, #Weebly might as well be a black hole where your website's visibility goes to die. Their platform is so outdated and clunky that even the most basic SEO practices become a Herculean task. And don't even get me started on their "SEO advice." It's like asking a fish how to fly.
Unresponsive? That's putting it mildly. Trying to get a hold of #Weebly's support is like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. And on the rare occasion that they do respond, their advice is often so off-base that it's laughable. I've received better tech support from my grandmother, and she still uses a rotary phone.
In a digital age where website building should be intuitive, efficient, and supportive, #Weebly stands out as a glaring example of how NOT to do things. Their platform is a labyrinth of outdated features, their customer service is a joke, and their overall approach to helping users is nothing short of abysmal.
In conclusion, if you value your time, sanity, and online presence, steer clear of #Weebly. There are countless other platforms out there that offer superior service, better features, and actual knowledgeable support. Don't waste your time on this digital trainwreck.
I have used Weebly for years. I left Homestead when their customer service went missing... noticing every time I had an issue there was another layer in between me as the customer and them as the business to offer support. But now Weebly has literally created a barrier that is hopefully going to cost their greed profits, because there is no way to reach them without a pin number (which I've never been given and they don't tell you how to get it- even tho I am a Pro level customer). There is no default- except to email or create a help support ticket, neither features which will work. The email is a false way to send you to a sea of information using whatever few words it recognizes, and below it asks if it helps, only providing a "Yes", which then does not allow me to actually file a support ticket. If I could pull my website today, I would. I tried to purchase 2 domains thru them over the weekend, had a gliche and they lost my business to go-daddy. I had a client I was sending their way for a new site which I can no longer recommend in good faith. I hope their greed continues to cost them further business. Who knows how many customer service reps were let go... I simply cannot be the only client feeling this way or experiencing these issues. They are a website building platform for God's sake... why on earth can't they create a streamlined, accurate and responsive Customer Service protocol?
I chose Weebly years ago because I sell digital downloads. All of a sudden they won't upload! Come to find out they CHANGED THE RULES and no longer offer this. They NEVER informed and and I prepaid for two years of website based on the fact that they do offer it! Something has happened with their service over the past 2 months, you can't get through via phone, email or chat. IT'S TERRIBLE
What a horrible company! After having my website with them through years (and never getting one lead I might add), I receive an email letting me know my site is expiring in 2 weeks and is set for automatic renewal. I responded to give them a head's up that I wouldn't renew this year as I'm a Realtor and they don't offer a connection to the MLS that most realtors have and is probably the reason I don't ever get contacted.
The customer service person (who wouldn't give their name) immediately shut down my site that I'd paid for prior to my expiration date weeks away. When I tried to contact them back, they kept sending info to contact a number of other places to get help. Nobody responded.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!
I had my art portfolio up using this crappy website builder that recently 'joined with Square' then when I copied my website reluctantly to their new Square platform everything that I worked so hard for became erased and everything was gone I will NEVER use this GARBAGE WEBSITE WEEBLY/SQUARE EVER AGAIN! DO NOT USE!
Was eliminated through Microsoft Small Biz life or whatever they were called and had to bring my web pages over before they were shut down. Did not want to join their new 360 product and looked everywhere. Coudn't find any web page hosting/design that would let me do all the things I was used to. Keywords, integrate PayPal, link to other web pages, add photos, have multiple pages, name my title pages etc. I am not a pro but got my three pages switched over no problem and added three new pages. I absolutely love it. The most important part were the keywords which I can add and tailor myself as I need to AND the title pages for each of your web pages to show up on Google. I am no 1 on Google in my town just because of my keywords and web page titles. All for under $100 per year (pro member ship – otherwise it's free). I went with the pro program to be able to have more web pages. Also to just make duplicate web pages ( I needed a lot of web presence) its so easy just copy the web page that works and get a new domain for it and you are up and running. These Yodel people called today trying to make me sign up and I just told them I don't need to pay for their service bc I am on page 1 by myself (not to mention the horrible reviews for Yodle)
Anyways, long story short. Try it for free, play with it, and upgrade to pro if you need it. It has everything to market yourself on Google and be seen.
I wonder why people gave this website the worst feedback. It is what I needed for my website/shop. Almost everything that you really need is for free. Better that wix at least.
Cool for new ones and a great site for the one who just wanna get it for free. But i also think that like wordpress they should also give search box in free version. But better than Wordpress.
My main gripe is no contact. How can you have a fluent working relationship with a web host etc that does not answer your queries in a timely manner.
There is a drop box for instant conversation on the support page but there is never anyone available to answer to your queries.
I got using their site to make a website. I tried to buy a domain name from them, but couldnt proceed for some reason, tried to contact them to assist with this there was no answer, so i went somewhere else, for hosting etc
Only to find out that i would have to contact weebly again for them to do some 'pointing' from the website i created etc, then deduced that it would be better if i hosted with weebly, so cancelled the other hosting agreement, now trying to contact weebly for four days to find out how to proceed. Ive tried everything. I have not recieved one response, other than the automated one, to my queries.
I like the free bits on the site, but can i trust them with taking me to another level when they are not readily available.
What happens when my site becomes established, is this the way i wold be treated, if my site breaks down and i need to contact someone, when would they respond.
GM
They do not answer the phone or respond to emails. The biggest issue is thd store is not compatible with safari browser. So that means you will be SOL on Iphone buyers. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A RIPOFF IMO
I'm seriously considering changing to another website, so anyone with a great review of one would be appreciated. Also don't want to get charged out of having a website.
Weebly, A Whole Lot of Crap
I've been on Weebly since October of 2014. Today I found out that all the return and unique visitors I've had to my website were pretty much all bots. Really?
I've been paying Weebly a nice little monthly fee for the past several years and now they are telling me that all the people who visited my site were bots. Funny, a lot of these bots came back to my facebook page and told me how much they like, loved, or hated what I wrote there but evidently, they have been lying to me.
So now I have an escaladed complaint that someone is supposed to get back to me on, but I'll believe that when I see it. Oh, the new numbers are coming from Google Analytics. They take a bunch of made up numbers and decide on how many people are actually looking at your site. Again, really?
One of the reasons why my numbers have dropped evidently is because unless someone goes searching for my website online then it is considered a bot. This means if I post the site somewhere else and someone goes to my sight from there then it is considered a bot. That's the way Anthony explained it to me. At least that is how I took it.
Right now, I'm running an experiment. I'm asking all my friends to click on something I posted a little earlier today and once they do, getting them to come back to where I posted it and hit like. I want to see what happens.
My fb page is public so if anyone wants to help this little experiment out please do. Thanks. Thank you.
I had a Weebly site connected with a Google Workspace account and was quite happy with it for a while. A couple of months ago, I pointed my domain from Weebly to Bluehost. According to Bluehost and Register.com, my domain (even though pointed to my new bluehost site) and mail were still registered at Weebly, which means that the billing had to be done through them. However, Weebly didn´t list neither my domain, nor my Gmail at my account, making it impossible for me to
A) renew my domain + website
B) obtain the EPP code to transfer the registration to Bluehost.
There are no articles on their website about this issue. I sent various mails to the customer service that were never answered. There is no live chat, and if you live outside the US, you can´t even call them. So, I got zero support, which lead to my site going down and my business mail not working anymore. This is highly damaging for my business. Even now that the domain expired, I can´t even use it with another hosting service, as it´s apparently still registered at Weebly, which means that I have to purchase a new domain and a get a new business mail, which is super unprofessional. I would have wished for a real human to respond to my issue, because I´m sure it would have been solvable and all those problems avoidable, but that didn´t seem to be possible.
I tried their free website builder but I was never able to build the website because I found a better deal somewhere else, months later I found out through my bank that they charged me 144 dollars for a website I never built, I contacted them to ask them why I was charged if I never built the "free" website and they couldn't give me a good reason and they won't refund me, by the way its a nightmare trying to find their customer support, they made it almost impossible for customers to get a hold of them, they deserve 0 stars and they need to be investigated, watch out these ppl are thieves.
Honestly, I'm so sick of using Weebly to enter new items into my inventory system (used with Square). I'm absolutely computer-literate, I know what I'm doing, so this is not about user-error.
For some reason, almost half of my items do not actually save the edits. And the weird thing is, there's no rhyme or reason to it. Like, it'll save the categories that I want it to be in, but it won't save the changes made to the title, or the sku, or save it as visible when I've clearly marked as visible. It tells me that it's saved. It looks just fine when it goes back to the "all site items" screen, but when I actually go and check my online shop, they are not visible. So, I have to go back in, find all of the items that didn't actually save correctly, even though it originally said it was saved. I have to remark them as visible, re-edit the title, re-edit the SKU and then save again. It's the stupidest thing. And it's only for some. This especially awful when checking customers in the shop in-person, I scan the barcode and if I didn't realize the sku didn't save correctly then the item just will not show up.
I'm honestly sick of it. I've spent the last 5 hours, entering items in, saving them and THEN re-editing those same items. What a waste of a day. Moving forward? I have no clue. I'm going to have to switch over to a whole new service. This sucks and is so frustrating.
Practice from this company. Hacking tools not working charging our car me for services and tools not given etc...
Weebly seems like a great option until you realize there's NO support given and unless you are "of the top tier". Otherwise Weebly just takes your money and doesn't offer anything. Even as a customer with a website they DO NOT OFFER ANY SUPPORT. You will spend your time trying to find a way to speak to them and they will continue to blow off their customers. THIS IS A HORRIBLE WEBSITE DOMAIN HOLDER. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. YOU EVEN GET CHARGED 2 YEARS AFTER YOI CANCEL YOUR WEBSITE. AND THERES NO ONE TO SPEAK TO THE CLEAR IT UP. THEY DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS EVEN ON THEY OWN SCREW UPS.
Do not use Weebly. They will rip you off.
BE WARNED! I enjoyed creating my website but a year later, though I was still battling to be paid for my time creating the website, the person who paid for the site to be listed online was given rights to my website design and artwork. I was told that I would need a court order to get the rights back! I WAS NEVER PAID FOR MY WORK BUT WEEBLY ONLY CATERS TO THE PERSON WHO PAID TO MAKE THE SITE LIVE!
Answer: Weebly has a lot of pages, this to me doesn't seem like one of them. You might get this error if you go there. 404 Error - Page Not Found They have a blog that can answer that or lead to that answer.
Answer: You need a paid plan, then you can get live customer service. You still can only get that during business hours. Keep your notes in front of you, they are tricky. Remember what you say in the live chat box because the chat box will not reveal what you were previously saying. They'll try to confuse you using that and try to change your story or something. Then they'll say is that all and end the conversation. Your problem not being solved you'll have to contact them again.
Answer: Confirm this with weebly, don't go there first. Looks like a hack attempt on your account to me.
Answer: I have tried the same and contacting Weekly is futile. They could care less about their clients.
Answer: Weebly does allow facebook marketing on their site. You should take a look at their complete Terms of Service, the most important restriction on advertising is: (q) include more than three ad units per page, or any advertising that greatly reduces the usability of the site. So, you would need to be careful about how many banners you include. That being said, many of Weebly's templates work really well with affiliate sites. The ability to insert HTML and Javascript files gives you a lot of flexibility. I've created a couple of demo sites that show how you can use affiliate data feeds on a Weebly site. You can see them here: http://www.webbuildersguide.com/website-builders-reviews/weebly-review/
Weebly has a rating of 1.3 stars from 157 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Weebly most frequently mention customer service, live chat and credit card. Weebly ranks 148th among Website Builder sites.
