WeddingWire has a rating of 2.1 stars from 819 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with WeddingWire most frequently mention year contract, small business and free listing. WeddingWire ranks 15th among Wedding Planning sites.
When I started my wedding business I thought advertising on Wedding Wire would be a sound investment. I realized within a month that it was a scam and that the few inquiries I got were fake, undoubtedly employees of Wedding Wire itself that were contacting me for quotes and never responding back. This continued for another 2 months before I told them I wanted OUT. They said "sorry but you are in this for a 1 year term". I immediately reported them to the Better Business Bureau and that worked like a charm to get me out of the contract but I still had my free listing. Then, I had a couple come for a small elopement and I gave them wonderful service. The next day the bride left a 1 star review on my wedding wire account, so I know that WW paid her to do that. (a year later she left me 5 star reviews all over the web because she felt guilty). I got other 1 star reviews from people I never heard of. Shortly after that WW permanently removed my account and banned me from their platform! Lol My advice is do NOT pay for advertising in the wedding business - all the other wedding sites are the same way. Fake leads from within the company. I found facebook to be the same - people from other countries would click LIKE on my posts. Even Google ads didn't generate all that much for my business. Craigslist ads paid off more than all the expensive companies. Go figure.
If I could give zero stars I would. They are money hungry scammers who don't care at all about vendors. They loop you into a "contract" Something you don't sign and is just send to your email but yey prevents you from being able to cancel or close your account. Every other normal subscription service has the option to cancel. They promise you will get a certain amount of leads but instead the majority of leads are fake bots and the ones that are real are price shoppers who don't convert because they don't even read about you they just copy paste the same msg to 100 vendors. Stay away! Don't lose your money with them!

Wedding wire is horrible. They archived my wedding website without notifying me and then charged me for it. They are criminals and immoral. It could happen to you. Big risk ahead of a wedding. Avoid at all costs.
Hi Jasmine,
Periodically, our team does retire older tools to ensure we are using our resources for enhancements and maintenance of our existing tools and offerings. When tools are retired, we do notify couples using the email address associated with their account. On 06/02/2021 I was contacted by, *, representing The Knot WorldWide, aka The Wedding Wire, aka The Knot in regards to advertising my wedding officiant services on their platform. During this phone call I was promised that my business would receive a minimum of 250 leads per month from brides wishing to hire an officiant. I was also promised that TKWW would use their SEO expertise to bring internet traffic to my website by means of Google. For 2 months I waited for their promises to be fulfilled. I received less than 10 leads total for 60 days and only 2 of those were real customers. The majority of my leads were robots, not real. I contacted my sales rep only to get an email reply denying she promised me the above. She said " I told you that your industry (meaning the hundreds of other wedding officiants) would receive 250 leads per year, not you solely and not monthly. She ignored my complaint about the Google lack of traffic. I was scammed and lied to by this company in order to get me to agree to a contract. This company knows they cannot live up to their claims/lies so they force you into a contract in order to become a customer. Have filed a BBB complaint as well.

I think if they were really confident about being able to help vendors they would give you at least 24 hours to change their mind. I just signed and I changed my mind or rather realized too late that it's not a good fit. I may be able to make my money back but it feels like I'll essentially be working for them at best or worst I'll loose money. This has not been a good experience and I am starting out not having a lot of confidence, and they don't care about that it makes me think they just want to get your money before you realize what scam it is. I'm having buyers remorse. It may be because the only vendor reviews seem to be negative, but I really don't believe them when they say they can't do anything about this. They are very pushy in their sales approach, and they seem a little unethical. I'm really sorry I signed up with them and I want to warn you to not sign up with them when they say things like this is the best deal you can get and you can only get it if you sign up now. Under the veneer something seems really shady. Their are a lot of reviews on here that align with what l am saying, other than immediate buyers remorse it's not much different.
Hi Sara, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our advertising commitments are currently for 12 months because our most successful advertisers have found that when they begin their partnership with WeddingWire, they need at least 12 months to build a successful Storefront, build up reviews, build a market reputation and attract and book business with engaged couples throughout the course of the entire planning cycle.
We would appreciate the opportunity to connect you with a member of our WeddingPro Support team to discuss your account with you further and ensure that you are set up for success, so if you could send us a private message with your business details at your earliest convenience, that would be greatly appreciated!
Chuck was used as our DJ and handled all the music for my grandson's wedding. Great choice we made. Chuck was awesome! He stepped in, took control, and did a fabulous job. Thank you, Chuck! We couldn't have done it without you.
I got married prepamdemic and I finalized my wedding planner based off of comments and promotions on the website. However after so much money spent I was very unhappy with the wedding planner and I wrote a review so it would he helpful for others. The agent at weddingwire said they would only post my review when/if its approved by the wedding planner (which surprise, surprise, was not approved) They asked to see proof of the contract which I was in agreeance, until they said theres a chance it would be released to the vendor. I explained I had some remaining loose ends still and didnt want it to be jeopardized if my details were disclosed. I asked if I could speak over the phone as email responses were sporadic and short - this was denied. I feel like the process of providing a negative feedback is made exceptionally difficult so people wouldnt. I feel like for this reason this website loses its credibility.
Hi Sherri,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We would love to look into this a bit further, when you have a moment please send us a direct message with the email address you used to leave your review so we can further assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!

When you have a moment, would you mind sending us a private message with your business details? You may also contact us at support@weddingpro.com directly. We look forward to hearing from you!
This is a waste of money. I did one wedding and was hours away from being scammed. I responded to at least 75 leads that did not result in a booking, a waste of time. The company does not care about its vendors as the platform is NOT secure. When I informed them of the scam and the police report I filed, they were indifferent. A complete waste of money, time, and the worst business decision I've made in 3 years.
Hi Abigail, thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not up to standards. We would like the opportunity to talk and investigate your feedback further, so if you wouldn't mind sending us a private message with your business details at your earlier convenience, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, and we look forward to speaking with you!
We just had our daughters wedding celebration on June 19th with the band London.
This band was AWESOME! Everyone from young to old raved about how great they were. They had everyone dancing and kept the party going the entire night. I cannot stress how happy and wonderful the reception was due to this fabulous band.
Judy (mother of the bride)
I have been with wedding wire and the knot since November 2020., and i would not recommend to partner with them. Please keep your hard earned money and use in a different way. When a bride clicks on one vendor, they send the lead to multiples vendors at the same time. I have responded to the leads and few of them have replied that they were interested in somebody else, and the nit understood why they were getting responses from another vendors. I have receive leads that i have replied and got no answer from the clients at all. Some leads repeat five times like new ones after i replied to it the first time. It looks like you may be able to book one or three just to pay the contract with them. Their leads are very questionable!
Hi Gustavo, thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The Vendor Recommendation Modal you are referring to is designed to drive more couples to inquire about your business and ultimately help you book more weddings, but if you would prefer that this be turned off, you do have that option. If you would like to do so or chat with a member of the WeddingPro team further to discuss suggestions for improving your lead conversion, don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@weddingpro.com or 877-331-7752.
Thanks again for the feedback, and have a great day!
If you're not ready to commit to advertising on this platform do not fill out the inquiry form as a vendor! After letting them know that we were no longer interested, they've been emailing and calling multiple different numbers (that we did not give them) every day to try to talk us into a subscription. They come off as very spammy and it's definitely not a company we want to give money to! Do not recommend!
We understand your concern and apologize for any negative experience. If you would like to send us a private message with your business details, we would be happy to put a flag on your account so that our sales team does not contact you going forward, per your request.
I wrote this review on wedding wire and they are refusing to publish on their website. They are part of The Knot which also censors their content.
This review was about Rowan Lane Events in Raleigh, NC which is a vendor of The Knot.
Let me first start by saying this. My initial wedding coordinator provided this business with extra work to assist with our wedding due to other things that came up with another couple. Initially, she seemed great and was eager to help us. We then found out she was friends with the restaurant that catered us Under the Oak in Smithfield North Carolina and when we had issues with our contract her attitude towards us changed.
Issue # 1:30 min before the ceremony Kaitlin stuck my wife in a bathroom to get ready and gave her bridal suite to the caterer because it was too windy for them outside. She never communicated this to us ahead of time and my wife was completely distraught when she had to put her wedding dress on next to a urinal.
Issue #2: Kaitlin allowed the groom and groomsmen to finish the entire ceremony without the boutonnieres and I the groom had to go looking for her and them when I realized we didn't have them once the ceremony ended.
Issue #3: Kaitlin showed up in a Jean jacket with what my best man called (pajamas) for an outfit and was completely unprofessional throughout the day.
Issue #4: Kaitlin was supposed to stay the entire night and asked me (the groom) to leave early. My wife and I had to go back to the venue 2 days later to clean up and take out the trash when that was her job.
These are just a few of the issues that took place. Additionally, she has blocked my review of her business on The Knot because my contract wasn't directly with her although she represented another business and felt that I should leave the negative review there. I would NOT work with this woman as she will not come through for you and has a huge attitude problem.

Wedding Wire are a bunch of con artists and shysters. We have advertised with them for around 7 years and paid around $2500 a year to be listed on their wedding vendor forum. They have the perfect business model. They fully support all wedding couples. We as a wedding vendor have had clients post completely inaccurate reviews where they are lying about the services they received from us and Wedding Wire fully supports their review no matter what. So if you like to pay a company to encourage your clients to harm your good work then they are your kind of people. Don't waste your money. As bad as Google ad words is, it's a better place to go.

They hide legit reviews of their vendors to keep their advertising revenue up. We recently reviewed a customer of theirs we had our wedding at (Amara Cay, Islamorada FL) & they pulled it because they "couldn't verify it's accuracy, the resort disputed your claims." Wait, so all the resort has to do to take down poor reviews is basically say they didn't do it? We offered to show all the emails proving what happens, but no answer from wedding wire to review. It's fake advertising and poor customer service - all out to make money off of us. Beware.

WeddingWire decided it was appropriate to delete everyone's websites that was made in 2019. For all the unfortunate brides who had to postpone their wedding, I feeeeel your pain. This was just another item that was thrown on your plate. On top of it, customer service said that if you want your original URL (which I had already put on my invites) you now have to pay for it. The audacity! They literally threw out our websites, made you redo it, and then said oh you also have to pay now. The customer service representative Shanice will give you the run around for a week, ultimately offering no solution. I would not recommend WeddingWire to an enemy.
As a Wedding Professional The Knot and WeddingWire have helped increase my exposure on the web. I'm almost through a full year and it's been a success so far for collecting reviews and featuring myself on a platform that couples actively use to plan their wedding. As a custom stationery designer, my business isn't a "necessary" service for a wedding so I would say the traffic I get is good! Highly recommend this platform for advertising.
Thank you for the review! We're so glad to hear that you've had a great experience and that your business has benefitted from your partnership with The Knot and WeddingWire!
They don't get back to you, they side with bullying clients instead of take care of venders and they don't accept evidence to prove your innocence. It's garbage.

I signed up with them pre-pandemic hoping for a great 2020. As the pandemic hit, they did not let us cancel or even pause our membership. Keep in mind we got 0 bookings from them due to covid-19 and they kept saying if you plan on being in business that people will book for 2021. They didn't. So we finished out our 1 year contract getting charged an arm and a leg. We barely had money for rent, with zero bookings and they still didn't care. Once it expired, they extended another month because we didn't have the cancellation in writing in email even though I called to cancel. I understand it is protocol, to do so and it's "in the contract". However, if they decided to work with me throughout this pandemic, I would've been a customer for life. They took the short term route and milked me for every dollar they could. They didn't care at all that we had 0 events and short on $ to pay for rent let alone other expenses. The service itself was a waste of money. I had way more exposure through yelp. Don't get fooled like me and find you a better service.

Terrible experience. I paid over $80 a month to advertise on wedding wire. I was not getting any leads so I emailed customer service to get help and got no response. The second time I emailed them for support I got suggestions that were so basic and things I was already doing.
Do not waste your money with them!
