I'll try to keep this short. Towards the end of a chat inquiry into a missing order reported as delivered by FedEx, the WebstaurantStore.com employee sent this:

"The tracking information that show is listed on the Fed Ex site. This can be found by using that tracking number you were provided on their site. We do ask that we are notified within 5 business days of the date the item shows delivered of any missing items on the order. However I would be able to make a one time exception for you on this. I do ask that going forward you notify us within that 5 day window of any issues as we are not able to guarantee that this will be handled the same way in the future. I apologize that you did not receive this item. Would you like for me to re-ship this out to you or would you prefer a refund for this item?"

I'm please they offered to replace the order. I'm pissed that they think it's reasonable to expect me to notify them within 5 days of the date FedEx reports the product delivered, when nothing ever got to my restaurant. He's gonna do me a favor and make a "one-time exception?" He's gonna further admonish me that, "... we are not able to guarantee that this will be handled the same way in the future.?"

I'd fire me if I spoke to a customer like that.

Followed up and made this complaint to them through email. I was informed, ". This is common practice for our company." The writer of this text was much more careful to be politically correct, but at the end of the day, she simply reiterated the policy.

I bought a bill counter from this company which was defective upon arrival. Instead of refunding my money and permitting a return they asked for videos and photos which I sent and then said it was my responsibilty to get a refund from the manufacturer itself! I have never encountered such a horrible and irresponsible attitude towards customers. Their customer service department says that they are not responsible for the products they sell. Stay away. You're safer buying on Amazon from other companies

When customers let us know that something is not working as it should be, we may first try to get additional information so we can see what is going on and see if there is any trouble shooting available. If not, then we will typically refer customers to the manufacturer because the warranty is through them. WebstaurantStore does not hold the warranty, it is through the manufacturer, and they will typically prefer to work with you directly because you are with the unit. I bought some cups on 08Jan22. It is now 25Jan22. The tracking indicates "Processing". I do not know what that means. I had hoped to have my purchase long before now, so I have contacted the company about 5 times to inquire about the status of my purchase and to offer to pay more to get it here faster. My main problems is that no will respond to me at all. I guess I am bothering them too much. I am not sure.

They have bad customer service. The company charges shipping for returns and a 30% restocking fee. I do not recommend this company. They do not even deserve a one-star rating.

The reason that we charge a restocking fee is to keep costs, and ultimately our prices, down for our customers. When you buy from a company that has no restocking fees, you pay for returns that the company handles, indirectly, through higher prices. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order, as well as returning an order. Most companies do build it into their initial pricing, but we try to charge it only when it is needed. We purchased a few thousand dollars of furniture for our new office. Some items came damaged. We contacted The Webstaurant Store for replacement or refund of the damaged furniture. We were told to contact the manufacturer directly and that they are not responsible for any damage. We contacted the manufacturer directly and were told that only Webstaurant can request a replacement. After a dozen phone calls and emails, we ended up paying for the shipment back to the manufacturer and did not get a replacement. Webstaurant also refused to refund the damaged furniture. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. Customer service is horrible.

Stay away
January 13, 2022

My tables have a design flaw and are warping after only 80. Due to covid my business was delayed and they had almost no tables so I ordered these which are not my fav and said they can't do anything because delivery was longer than 90 days. Shipping and product delays were crazy so I had to order. Stay away as you will be hard pressed for any reasonable outcome.

Out of the several things we ordered we only got a single item and we weren't given any sort of refund, told us it was already sent. I feel bad for the money that was kidnapped from our wallets. I only hope that our money isn't being abused by the incompetent people you call "employees". It'd probably be faster and cheaper to make our equipment by chiseling sharp stones than to waste our time and our dollars to this "business"

Buyer beware - exchange rate plus duties will more than double the cost. We can expect exchange rate to be brutal, but the duties are the same cost of the product. When I contacted to find out what can be done to lessen the cost, nothing. No options. Will not be ordering anything in the future. Should have ordered from somewhere else that is Canada shopping friendly.

Those are set by customs offices. Since we do not absorb shipping costs into our wholesale prices, we do charge the full shipping charge for each order. I was excited to see that webstaurantstore carried the exact knives that I was looking for. They had a big banner at the top of their site saying "we ship from USA to Canada" so I was excited. So many USA companies don't bother offering shipping to Canada. So, I selected my items and was ready to check out. I spent a few minutes trying to get the form to accept my Postal Code, and it finally accepted it when I started with a capital letter followed by lower case, which was weird. However, my irritation came when I saw the shipping cost alone was higher than the $80 USD for my couple knives! I immediately backed away and started writing this review. I have had items ship from the USA for 10% of their cost. 100% is ridiculous. It would be nice to see some of these companies work on offering more reasonable shipping options for their friends up north! Contrary to what some may think, shipping costs on this side of the border are no longer used to subsidize feeding and housing for the polar bear delivery division.

Sink arrived scraped and scratched (see pics). It's very clearly damaged and they re-packaged it that way in a new box. And the website refuses returns: message after completing return form: "Return Authorization cannot be created… contact our Customer Solutions… regarding the items you couldn't return".

I got dangerous for life gas equipment
December 20, 2021

I bought a crepe maker with propane adapter(regulator). When i tryed to use it, i got that a reglator was leaking!(is is very dangerous). What is happened when i tryed to ask WebstaurantStore? It was amazing answer:"This needs to be installed by a professional tech and they will be able to advise on that setup".
Are you kidding? You have to change this regulator, you sold dangerous equipment

I think after you buy something they forget about you, and if you need to return something you have to pay 30%

The most outstanding customer service I have ever received. On multiple occasions webstaurantstore has swiftly and quickly and graciously helped me with damaged product due to shipping and handling. I have never encountered a company other than Nordstrom which has gone through such lengths as politely and quickly as webstaurantstore.

I should have checked these reviews before I purchased $1500 worth of chairs from this company! Some of them arrived damaged. They offered me a store credit which is less than the cost I paid for the damaged chairs? WTF. I will definitely be disputing the charges with my credit card company tomorrow!

Wrong product=no return

I bought the 1000 case of 8x12 vacuum sealer bags, after ordering the 100 pack, and they were smoothe and would not work in my sealer! Had a hard time on the computer getting an answer. Finally I called and was told that since I opened the package I couldn't return it! I was so pissed I had to hang up! How was I supposed to find out if the bags worked without trying them! So now I'm stuck with 990 vacuum bags that don't work for me!

Terrible company

One of the things that makes this company poor is that they dont really offer up front a telephone number. You have to go through their chat. You cant even find a telephone number on their home page. They delivered my items to the wrong address even though the shipping address was correct! I get the run around as well. Finally, just asked for my money back.

Photo of my credit card? No Thanks

I still am not sure if this is a legitimate store or not. After submitting an order I later received an email from "EcommerceRisk" telling me that they were unable to verify my billing information. I needed to take a picture of my credit card and send it to them. Are you joking? I have attached the email. I have never had a legitimate company tell me to send them a photo of a credit card.
I cancelled my order on the spot.

In order to protect our customers' security, we will sometimes ask for verification when it is your first order. Sometimes the billing information used during checkout does not match the information on the credit card. Our team just needed to confirm that you are the one placing the order. We do not need the entire credit card, just a photo with everything except your name and the last 4 digits blocked out. A utility bill or photo ID with your name and address would also suffice. This is purely for customer security, as we take our customers' security very seriously. If you have any questions about this, please let us know.

I ordered a commercial faucet. Webstaurants' ad said they usually ship within 2-3 days. Once ordered they informed me they don't even stock the item and it would be about 2 weeks to ship. When I contacted them with specifics, I got a computer generated answer that didn't address the delay. I badly need the faucet in our restaurant but didn't receive it for over a month. Very poor company to do business with. Avoid ordering from this company.

This date describes the optimal time to use the products for best flavor/results, but if stored properly, can last much longer.
