I was flying from Costa Rica to Mexico City and the girl at the check-in explicitly offered herself to me after she saw my American passport. She was trying to get my phone number or to meet in person. I do understand that the airline is paying them peanuts but hiring obvious h**kers is just too much! Here's the "offering" by the way… report her whenever face the same.

Morality Question
November 30, 2016

On Sunday, November 27th, we traveled from Leon to Los Angeles. My daughter packed a Sony laptop computer in her checked baggage. When we arrived, the bag had been opened and the computer was gone. I contacted by phone Volaris. The customer service representative started an investigation with our reservation number. He said to allow 24 hours and that we would be contacted. We have not heard from Volaris, and would like to know the progress of the investigation.

Upon questioning the airline, my live chat was terminated, proving that in Mexico, it's not a question of morality - only of opportunity. Stay away from these thieves.

Worst Service plus FRAUD! Flew with Volaris twice. The first time I used a credit card with them... within 2 days of purchasing my ticket, I had over $2400 dollars in fraudulent charges in the Mexico City area. Bad luck I thought... well the 2nd time I used them, I charged my ticket on a new card which had never been used before and this ticket was the only purchase ever made with this card. Within 2 days of purchasing my ticket at the Volaris desk at LAX, I had raked up over $4000 in fraudulent charges (again, all made around the Mexico City area). To add insult to injury... You are putting your financial security at risk when dealing with these criminals.

My wife tried to buy her mother who lives close to Guadalara Mexico a plane ticket. The ticket was for $275. She talked to a ticket agent on the phone and he tried twice to use her credit card and told my wife twice that the card was declined. We then used a different card and got it accepted. The next morning we called the bank about her card and found that both of the transactions that the agent had said were declined had not been declined. Racked up a $550 charge on my wife's card. Be real careful in dealing with Volaris

I highly recommend not using the services of this company, since its systems are designed in such a way that you can easily lose money irrevocably. In my case, I lost 470 USD on purchasing a return ticket. In the interface of their system, I chose a tariff with the Full Refund feature, and when a couple of days later I applied for a refund, they told me that this was impossible because some rules had been violated. In the correspondence, I found out that the money can only be returned within 24 hours from the date of purchase (there are still a lot of points, but I was not returned the money based on this), but it is impossible to find these restrictions at the time of purchase for a ticket in the system, and there are no footnotes on these restrictions are nowhere to be found, and support does not consider this a problem, which I believe means this is intended.
It's unclear what other pitfalls there are, but I'm sure where there is one there are others. It is better not to have deals with this company at all, but if there are no alternatives, then I recommend that before performing any operations you contact their support service and find out if there are any restrictions for the operation you are about to perform.

If you had an issue with Volaris or their agents do the following:
AVOID Travel site MyTrip.com & GoToGate.com

1) File complainant here: https://secure.dot.gov/air-travel-complaint

2) Then if you bough your ticket with Visa or MasterCard report them directly here:

https://usa.visa.com/Forms/visa-rules.html
https://b2b.mastercard.com/contact-us/

3) File with States Consumer Protection Office Here: www.usa.gov/state-consumer

I made the great mistake of buying two tickets trough mytrip.com
See these scam artist who work with Volaris to scam you: https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/mytrip.com
mytrip.com also operates another fraud site here: https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/gotogate.com

I did not realize this was a cheap/budget airline since the tickets are very expensive.

The first ticket was advertised as non-stop. At the gate I was told there will be quick stop to fill up gas, The plane stopped, 95% go off, then new passengers came on. The stop was for over 2 hours.

For the flight back, I went to the airport in a Latin America country and the Volaris agent said your ticket has been cancelled and we can not guarantee that you will have flight even tomorrow. I went to another airline and was forced to pay for another ticket to fly back home. That was 6 month ago and still no refund. They keep on playing games.

Very efficient, no frills, and great price for in-country flights. They want 100 characters for a review, but I have nothing else to add.

So sick and tried for this airline. Just hope and pray to receive your seat you pay for. They should not over sell seats. Should be called Voliars.

Volaris scam on fees
September 16, 2022

I have flown Volaris using CBX ( cross border express) several times and I really love not having to drive into TJ to catch a flight, but I have to say their website can scam you on checked bag luggage fees, several times I have purchased checked baggage and have them take my money, but the checked baggage purchases did not show up on my itinerary or my ticket, every time I have called Volaris or chatted with them via WhatsApp or called their phone number they refused to give me a refund, saying they don't give refunds on check bags even if you purchased it and they didn't deliver, blatant scam!
So fair warning if you purchase a checked bag via their website it may not show up on your itinerary or your ticket, and you may be told you have to purchase again for whatever reason.

Here is what I've learned when purchasing tickets through volaris and checked bags, if you purchase tickets on volaris.com and add a checked bag and you change your flight or the time of your flight with the same reservation number you will lose all your checked bags fees that you paid and you'll have to re-purchase every time, and they will not refund you or forward the baggage fees you already paid to the modified flight even if you purchase the option to be able to change your flight, this is what's happened to me several time.

When researching prior lawsuits Volaris was fined $130,000 for not disclosing luggage fees. Are they still hiding luggage fees people paying and not getting the product? I do not know If Volaris is aware of this problem of people paying for checked bags but not showing on the ticket and your credit card has been debited and when calling volaris said they do not show a purchase when the consumer clearly has proof, if Volaris reads this I hope they know that you can't take peoples money and not deliver the product, you can't offer a website to be able to change flights and then take away all the extras they've already purchased when the customer is using the same reservation, this is My two cents It's frustrating that you cannot even make them understand the issue, They refused to hear a wall goes up.

I'm a minor and I was traveling alone to Guadalajara this past weekend for my grandparents 50th anniversary. On my way there, I had two bags. I checked one in and the other was a small carry on. At the Oakland airport, they offered to send my bag under as check-in for free since they flight was packed and they also never said anything about it being "over the dimensions." When I was leaving the Guadalajara airport, there was a worker who right before boarding asked me to check to see if my small carry-on fit the dimensions. I told him it did and that I had already flown with the same bag before and with the same company, regardless, he wanted to check. My bag was less than 2 inches taller than the dimensions. He said I had to pay an additional fee of approximately $50. I tried to explain to him that I had already traveled with the same bag and he just threatened to not allow me or my bag to fly back to Oakland unless I paid the fee. I'm 16, I had no cash or debit card on me. I was scared half to death because I had never experienced something like that, no matter how many times I tried to tell them I wasn't being heard. I was being threatened by that company. Finally, someone offered to pay my bill and I will be eternally thankful because I don't know what would have happened, would I have missed my flight. It's crazy to see what they do to kids who are underage and traveling alone, image what they pull on other people who have emergencies and have to grab a urgent flight or others. They charge for everything and sometimes only to certain people because I saw people with bigger bags than mine who did not have to pay. Volaris is crap and has the worst kind of service, even if their flights may seem cheap, do not fly with them! It is a huge mistake and you will get charged just for breathing their air.
