Their website is the worst to navigate that I have ever encountered! Even the telephone service person admitted that even skilled technology people find the site very difficult to use.
Ever since this company was taken over by Kroger everything has been downhill. Product, customer service, shipping, and even the sales such as BOGO are deceiving. They are using new marketing techniques to trick you into thinking your getting this great deal. This is not the same BOGO sale they ran in the past. So Buyer Beware! There are many other companies that will value you and I advise to go elsewhere. At least try, and see if you don't want to take my word for it. For those of you giving 5 stars... give it time, you too will be a 1 star client soon.
We placed an order with Vitacost on August 11th and called to work with the them to insure that the package would arrive before we left for extended travel on the 19th. Vitacost did not ship the package out till the15th so we called to cancel the order, but we were assured that it would be on time - and that if it was not, we could return it for a full refund $422.
The package did not arrive until after we had left, Vitacost then refused to allow the package to be returned, and refused to honor their commitment to refund or to allow us to return the merchandise. The package is still sitting UNOPENED at our home, and Vitacost continues to refuse to honor their promises.
We now use iHerb for all of our products and will never use or recommend Vitacost for any products.
10/06/20 Noticed a sale brand was completely. Out of stock on items I tried to order. Called on chatvlinecto ask about a rain check and was given a run around. When I suggested then that they extend the sale deadline til they got more inventory in I got the run around again. When I suggested sending me to mgmt. The Vitacost employee refused. Vitacost would be better off not having live chat. I have been a regular customer but am thinking of going elsewhere. Kroger now ownes them and their customer service is much better so that may be the route to go.
Most of the time no problem. But this last time I was informed that I had a shipment delivered when it was not delivered. I don't know if it's vitacost or FedEx at fault. Maybe it will come today. FedEx says I have one in route
Stopped buying from this company over a year ago due to poor customer service help with orders. Thought I would try them again since I was sent a coupn. I regret doing so as the one item I needed never shipped and was cancelled from their company without telling me so. The other itmes were only fillers to get free shipping and 2 items were the incorecct ones a=while the other one arrived leaking BOTH times(with replacement). They never adressed mycomplaint of the cancelled item, didnt make right the incorrect itemes sent and still don know hwat to do with the leaking tea tree bottles. Not a happy costumer.
I tried ordering 5 products from this company. The coffee sucks. Stale and did not even smell good, altho organic. Also they need to tighten up the order fulfillment portion of the company. My order came with only 4 products and was missing one product. I will never order from them again. I have been waiting to talk to someone for 39 minutes on my way home from work. They never picked up. Not really sure what is going on with them. Maybe they need to hire more representatives?
Kroger and their dishonest business practice is running Vitacost into the ground.

I submitted an order with VitaCost on August 13th. The address on file was my old address so i corrected it. When i submitted my order, it still shipped to the wrong address, plus it put items back into the cart that i deleted. I was fine with the items, but the shipment was a problem. It was midnight EST, so I emailed vitacost explaining everything. I called the next morning at 8:30am. The rep told me she submitted a report to have the address fixed. I called FedEx and they said they didn't get any changes on the Address. I called vitacost back and keep in mind every hold was over 30 minutes waiting for a VitaCost rep. I had to call 6 times. The Vitacost rep told me i had to call FedEx to change the address. I called FedEx again and their rep said VitaCost put a restriction on my address and they would need to call Fedex to make the change. I called VitaCost again and they said they couldn't call FedEx. As you can imagine this got very frustrating. Ultimately, the package went to the wrong address and im traveling on Business. FedEx says that all VitaCost would have had to do was call them to change the address and the whole thing could have been fixed. They refused. I work in the health and wellness industry and I have many customers in several countries. I will never shop here again and i will not suggest VitaCost to anyone else.
The company allow you to purchase products that at the end seems that are not allowed to be shipped to my country. But they don't let you know in advance only until you pay then, they will let you know that is your fault because you should check with your country which products are allowed to be shipped or not!
Better companies like Iherb let you know in advance before your purchase the products if are allowed or not, so you won't loose your money.
Over an hour on the chat customer service line. Still ripping me off. Cancel 90% of my order because of out of stock. Paid $5 shipping for a $4 item. Never issued credit after taking money from my account for the amount of $18.81
Very happy with the quick shipping and easy-to-navigate website. I ordered disinfecting wipes that were impossible to find elsewhere online, but Vitacost had a few in stock and they were shipped the same day I ordered them!
We placed our first order. A 20% off coupon was supposed to be emailed and it never came. I spent 1 hour on line trying to talk with a representative, She finally emailed the coupon and a $350 purchase was made. 10 days later no product and the website said "still processing". Another 30 minutes on hold to find out they had cancelled the order saying we never responded to the confirmation email. We never received any "confirmation" email. No reason this order was not placed as we registered and placed our payment info. This was an absolute scam. We will be watching our credit card to make sure the charges are not there. NEVER use this worthless company.
I have unsubscribed multiple times, tried to reach them by phone and via live chat (no one ever answers either), and still I am literally harassed by their marketing hype. While the product they delivered was fine, I will NEVER EVER buy from them again. I despise marketing hype and harassment.
I have tried five times to call Vitacost customer service about an issue with an order and after holding on long times (average of 20 minutes and being told countless times that how a customer service rep would be with me right away), I got disconnected each time before reaching anyone! I tried live chat three times during open chat hours and never could get anyone to even come onto the chat. I have emailed (3 days back) and gotten no reply as yet. I will not order again from this company.
I gave two not one star because I was for the part satisfied with products and availability of items on previous orders. But this current issue, which involves the use of effective, current coupon codes has caused the loss of significant discounts due me.
Vitacost has no quality control at all. As usual, I ordered vitamins from both Vitacost and Puritan's Pride. Vitacost came all stuck together, from no temperature or moisture control, while PP's were, as always, perfect. This wasn't about the shipping, as both boxes arrived the same day. It's about the warehousing and control by the company.

I placed an order months ago, with the most expensive delivery rates I have ever encountered anywhere. When contacted, they only sent a generic reply (obviously, they do this a lot, so have the the template email for it).
I have shopped at international retailers for years, never had any problem. I should have known it was suspicious when they didn't indicate a delivery date - they obviously had no intention of delivering at all, but I guess I was naive.
The start of their scamming also dates back from before the pandemic, since the ownership change in 2019, if anyone wonders - has nothing to do with COVID19. I regret not checking out the reviews before I placed the order since it is all stated here by the real customers (see below my take on that). I usually do that - but I had a recommendation from years before when this company was still a legitimate retailer.
I also know something about scamming review sites - the company is obviously balancing out all the 1 star reviews that say the same thing with paid reviewers who all give 5 star glowing reviews. If they were legitimate, the division of reviews would be different. Scammers.

I've struggled to find an acceptable store for quality healthy groceries since moving from Washington state to Tampa. I can only get so much from Costco, so I've had to order from different online sources here and there.
After discovering Vitacost, the struggle finally ended! They have a remarkable selection of healthy food and household items that rarely make an appearance in stores. I placed my order and received it two days later in the midst of Covid, where everything has been slowing down. The package was put together so carefully with exceptional packaging methodology that I've never seen from other online stores like Target, Amazon, etc. I know it sounds weird, but I was blown away by the way they packed everything because it showed an excellence in the way they operate. Even the packing material used was high class! Lol.
I received a 20% off coupon for my first order as well as second order, plus it's free shipping which made the prices even better! My vitamins were priced lower than Amazon's price where I usually buy them. My toothpaste that I purchase from Target was also cheaper on Vitacost. There are surprisingly no membership fees; I'm still waiting for their to be a catch, because it's all too good to be true. I literally took time to seek out where I could place a review. This company holds themselves to a higher standard. You gotta give them a try!
Answer: Yes they sell brand names and reputable products. They may not sell everything though depending on what you're looking for. I couldn't find the product I wanted anywhere other than through Vitacost so I was quite impressed.
