Scam!

I signed up for the Vinesse wine club thru United Airlines as a manner of getting some wine and some miles. The wines are JUST OK, I believe for my taste, they were a bit overpriced as I have bought comparable or better wines and for that matter imports for less than the domestic reds I got. THEN... WOW... I went to cancel and they tell me that in order to get all of my promotional miles I need to cancel by a certain date which I did and then about 2 weeks later I receive the shipment? I reject it and I get an email about a week later stating that I was getting a refund minus a 15% restocking fee AND the shipping cost - FOR SOMETHING I HAD ALREADY CANCELLED! Yeah, that was about $55 down the drain. Called customer service and I said, ok, then charge me the shipping but not the restocking fee. "No sir, we will not do that, is there anything else we can help you with?" Worst customer service ever and again wine is really not that great!

Oh and the messages that Vinesse adds to these reviews is even MORE of a clap in the face. Really, call us for us to offer you another scam? To tell you that we are right and you are wrong so we are not refunding your money as promised? To essentially give others reading these reviews a sense that Vinesse CARES?
Please, save the reply - That shows more respect and courtesy!

Do not be enticed by the seemingly "lucrative" offers from Vinesse. Avoid doing any business with them! To put it bluntly, Vinesse's business model is based on fraud. Their Customer Service is terrible and moreover, virtually unreachable. Furthermore, the quality of most of their wines ranges from bad to mediocre.
As a result, I canceled my membership after the initial delivery of wine because I didn't like its quality. Six months later, my husband responded to Vinesse's offer and authorized delivery of 8 bottles of wine for a total cost of $40 (using my name, which was already in their system). There was no opportunity to review or confirm the shipment nor any other records/notification of the charges. To my surprise, the next day I received an email welcoming me to Vinesse, and my account was charged for $120! Vinesse renewed my membership without sending me notice and charged an unauthorized amount from my credit card, also without notifying me of new charges.
I was unable to reach their customer service by phone, but finally someone responded via chat. In short, I was told that I could not cancel the order because it was "in process". Upon delivery, I did not accept the shipment and but was still charged for the shipping.
I have seen some similar complains on the blog, it means that this deceptive strategy is their standard practice. It looks like their business model is tricking and deceiving their customers, extortion. If they wish to make changes to the payment authorized by a customer, they MUST at least notify their customers about their intentions and update the order before its review. They should provide an opportunity to review and confirm an order so that customers can cancel or modify it, as any normal online company would do.
I am in a process of disputing their charges with my credit card company and certainly, not a Vinesse's customer.

I sent my Introductory for $49.99 in on 4/28 by snail mail (which means they received it by at least May 2). The wines arrived and were OK. I read all of the literature, including that they would send out a delivery every month. On 5/24 I called to cancel because their shipping charges are outrageous and more than other wine clubs I use. I was considering subscribing for a cheaper club but then the representative told me that my new shipment had already been sent out. I told him that it wasn't yet a month since I ordered and received no notice of a shipment and he said "We don't notify you and the shipments take 3 weeks to get to you. That is why we sent it already." 3 weeks? Are you kidding me? The first shipment they sent arrived one week after they received my order. 3 weeks delivery time in 2017 is hogwash. I asked him the price I would have to pay for this delivery and he said that for the 6 bottles sent, it was $123.49. Their wines were worth only half of that amount. If I decided to refuse the shipment they would charge my card $45 for the return of the box of wine. Be very careful if you take the Introductory Offer. Cancel immediately or they will send out a shipment and make you pay through the nose. Also, they never offered me the choice of frequency of delivery, the number of bottles or whether I wanted red, white or mixed. A real rip-off company. Best to stay away. Try Laithwaites instead. They let you know when a delivery is scheduled in time to postpone and offer free shipping periodically. I have free shipping for a year and order from them regularly. They are honest and although some prices are high, they offer specials and their shipping rates are much cheaper than Vinesse.

We do state on all of our wine club promotional offers that are mailed out, about future shipments will be automatically sent monthly and the charge will be $96 plus shipping and tax (if applicable) for each shipment. Also the member has no commitment whatsoever and may cancel their membership at anytime. If there is another wine club order already processed, depending on what stage the order is in, will determine if we can cancel the order in time before it has shipped. On the priority order form, there is only the option to choose the wine preference (all red, all white, or mixed red/white). It appears the expectations about the wine club's scheduling of the second club order was not made clear. In the packaging of the introductory wine club shipment, there should have been paperwork that provided additional information about your wine club membership and also gave the dates of the next 3 club orders. We do have a return policy for shipments that are returned either by refusing to accept delivery or for failed delivery attempts due to member not being available to accept delivery. The credit for returned shipments will be less a 15% restocking fee and less the shipping and handling fee. We would like the opportunity to do a full review of your membership experience and learn more on what transpired from the start of the wine club membership to the time of cancellation. We strive to provide excellent customer service and for your experience, our effort is to offer a satisfactory resolution, if possible. I WISH I READ THESE BEOFORE I GOT SCAMMED MYSELF! I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF BATTLING WITH THEM, THE AGGRAVATION AND LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM IS AWFUL! SAME STORY, CANCELED AND GOT A $127 CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT SEND A SHIPMENT, GOT ONE ANY WAY. BEING THAT I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS FROM THEM, I SIGNED, NOW I AM BEING HELD RESPOSIBLE. I CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE ON THE PHONE, IT'S ALL THROUGH AGGREVATING EMAILS. WORST DECISSION OF MY LIFE GOING THROUGH THEM, THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND ARE OUT TO SCAM YOU... STAY AWAY!

Delivering wine is a tricky situation because someone 21 years or over has to sign. So it's a crap shoot if you're even home. I wasn't home for a delivery so their shipping company left a notice. I called them and arranged for a delivery the next day between 8AM and 12PM. No one showed, I had to leave my home. Then they attempted another delivery late that same day, no one home to sign. I had already wasted 4 hours of my time (and this was not the first incident). Since this wasn't the first time I called customer service and cancelled my subscription for the reason of THEIR DELIVERY COMPANY IS A WASTE OF TIME. I then got a condescending email telling me that my subscription was cancelled, and because I refused the shipment to be delivered at another time (yep, the one that didn't come when I waited for 4 hours) I was being charged a 15% re-stocking fee plus all shipping. The wines were mediocre at best. Sorry that I let the lure of American Airlines Advantage Miles ever get me involved with this company. We belong to 4 winery wine clubs, never a single issue. Do not sign-up, not worth the headaches involved, including from their wine choices. Shame on you American Airlines, bad choice!

FRAUDSTERS... SCAM ARTIST... THIEVES... I received an introductory offer from American Advantage for Vinesse Wine for $41.95, I used my credit card to purchase this item. I later found out that the company withdrew $104.95 from my account. When I found out I made a 3 way call with my banker on the phone, I refuted the charge and I requested a refund the representative told me that once the wine is returned unopened they would refund the monies. I asked the representative what about the return shipping cost and he told me I could refuse the shipment or return it unopened and I would not be charged. When they delivered the shipment they delivered it to a neighbor. I had to take it back to UPS who said I had to pay $16.00. I paid the $16.00 and requested a refund from Vinesse. They have refused to do so. Low life scum hustlers thieves, fraudsters. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. I WISH I HAD READ THEIR REVIEWS FIRST. I AM GOING TO WRITE AMERICAN ADVANTAGE AND ASK THEM TO BE AWARE OF WHO THEY DO BUSINESS WITH.
