I signed up for 6 wines and a cool bottle opener. Did not arrive timely.
1st time I called, a woman said delivery was attempted 3 days in a row. If so, no note was left and the third day they claimed delivery was attempted I was doing yard work the entire day. I saw no delivery van of any type that day. I gave myself a couple weeks to cool off from being so blatantly lied to before calling again.
2nd time I called. The same young woman answered, she asserted that I had stopped by a warehouse and had taken delivery personally. This lie was stunning. This call was made the day before my wife unexpectedly died.
3d time I called was awhile after my wife's death; the same young woman found my package "in the system" and guaranteed delivery which I promptly received. I guess the grief in my voice was palpable enough that she didn't go through her litany of excuses and sent me what I had paid for a few months before.
She even offered me a full refund (no restocking fee!, they had suckered me before with a "restocking" fee after charging my credit card without notification), but my wife had wanted that bottle opener, so I took delivery.
If they had delivered when promised, my wife (who was the mechanic in the family) could have enjoyed figuring out and using her new bottle opener.
I delayed my second shipment because I was going to be away all summer. Then I decided I wanted to cancel. But before I could do that, I discovered a $30 charge on my credit card statement which is their annual fee. I was told that they would issue a full credit to my next order to offset the annual fee so I asked them to delay my next shipment until I returned from my summer travels which I could not do at my end. So they did it for me. I am awaiting that shipment now and it looked like my account was not credited. Turns out it was credited but orders are subject to a 17% surcharge - for what, I don't know. I canceled the membership immediately and told the rep I would be writing a review that wouldn't be good. I was asked: Would a refund of the surcharge please you? Um, yeah. So I did get $18 back. I've been a member of other clubs and never paid a surcharge or annual fee. By the way, they hit me with the annual fee about 3 months after my initial order. Surprise! Another issue with this company is that you don't get any shipment notifications and no invoice with a breakdown of the charges. I guess you're just supposed to believe they are on the up and up. Good riddance to Vinesse.
They never answer the phone and make it impossible to cancel. I am going to have to cnacel my credit card to get these scammers off my back. And the wine is crap as well.
LIKE THE OTHERS BEFORE ME THIS COMPANY IS A "SCAM". I WAS TOLD I COULD CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I DID AFTER THE FIRST PROMOTIONAL ORDER. I RECEIVED A CREDIT FOR THE SECOND SHIPMENT BUT WAS CHARGED AND OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. HERE'S THE ISSUE::: I CANCELLED THE ACCOUNT 5 DAYS BEFORE THE SECOND SHIPMENT. THEY STILL SENT IT OUT AND IT WAS REFUSED BY FEDEX! IF I CANCELLED 5 DAYS BEFORE SHIPMENT WHY WAS IT SENT OUT ANYWAY AND WHY WAS I CHARGED FOR THE S/H. BY THE WAY, THE WINE IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. I CAN GE A BOTTLE FOR $5.00 AT THE LOCAL PACKY THAT IS MUCH BETTER... STAY AWAY...
AVOID THIS SCAM AT ALL TIMES! THEY WILL NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AND THERES NO WAY TO EMAIL THEM. THEN THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD A EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR CRAP WINE
THEY ARE ALREADY ON THE BBB RADAR AND THE ATTY GENERAL OF CA
OVER 45 PHONE CALLS WENT UNANSWERED AND THERES NO WAY TO EMAIL THEM EITHER
They over charge for shipping and handeling! They sign you up for regular deliveries and charge a 60% surcharge and the call it taxes, shipping and handeling. Be very Careful! Susan Z
Half the wine was thrown away. The other half was unremarkable. Try to cancel and you will find the wine just keeps coming. Finally a letter to the BBB got things stopped.
Received original order - believing that was all I would receive. Wrong - you are automatically signed up as a club member and next month another order arrives. Called to see what was up and was told that I was a monthly shipment member - that I could adjust the number of shipments which I did. No shipments until Feb '19 I was told. Browsed around website to see what white wine they offered. 3 days later another shipment of white wine. Called again. Oh you signed up for the white wine club I was told. By clicking on wine options you enter new clubs. Asked to have membership canceled and full refund. No, you must pay return shipping and accept a 20% restocking fee. I was extremely upset. Told them I would not accept anything less than a full refund and if they didn't sent a return authorization label I would simply consume the product. Finally, agreed to refund in full, it I would take the package back to the shippers warehouse. I agreed and returned the product. 3 week later no refund. Called today, and was told that I needed to call them if I wanted and expedited refund. He agreed to process that and said I should see the refund in about 12 business days. EXPEDITED! Don't believe a word they say on the website. Want a great wine club - go to Naked Wines. Great wines and free shipping. Or try Laithwaite Wine Club. Great wines - shipping is extra. Michael M.
I signed up in order to get the miles, but like a lot of other people who have written reviews, I was cheated out of my miles! When I contacted support to inquire, they just said, "We require an account to be active for 21 days from the processing date of the 1st and 2nd shipments in order to be allotted your miles. The account was closed on the 18th day. I do apologize for any inconvenience but the 2nd shipment miles can not be uploaded." THIS WAS NOT STIPULATED IN THE AGREEMENT. I am sorry I ever signed up! Not worth the time or the hassle.
Wine is good but dealing with them is the worse! I tried to cancel my membership and they still kept sending me stuff. Stay away!
We apologize if you intended on cancelling your membership with us and this wasn't done. If you can provide me with your member number I can gladly look into this issue for you. We do ask cancellations be done with a phone call to our Customer Support Center at 1(800)-823-5527. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST. We are, however, glad you at least enjoyed the wines that were sent to you.
This place is a scam! Do not fall for the "Get 6500 miles". I spent over 150 in crappy wines to get 6500 United miles.
Hello Daniel, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the shipments you received. We see that your offer was to receive two shipments and earn miles. We regret that the club did not work out for you and would love a chance to go over any dissatisfaction you had to improve our business. Please give us a call. Thank you.
This company is a sham and takes advantage of customers by claiming they did not receive a cancellation. Returns are at your expense with restocking
Hello Jean,
Thank you for your feedback. We'd like to look into this issue further, but we are unable to pull up your membership with the information provided. Would you please send us a message with your member number or phone number on file. We'd like to find a resolution for you.
Have tried multiple times to cancel my account, more shipments come which I refuse - have no idea if I'm being credited for the returns!
Vinesse is a company that ropes you into their program using tantalizing offers and then delivers far less than expected. It starts with a "HOT" offer on what proves to be some very inferior wines in some nice bottles. At the low introductory price of around $5.00 a bottle, you can live with a little disappointment in the wines themselves but then a few months later an unrequested 6-bottle "case" shows up at your door with a $140 price tag attached (over $23 a bottle). If you don't want it, Vinesse is happy to take it back... provided that YOU pay the $15 to $20 return shipping charge and then they charge you a 15% restocking fee that is part of their "return policy" that is deeply buried somewhere on their website but completely unmentioned in the pretty promotional pieces that they use to lure you in to obtain that all important first order and your credit card number.
This bottled SCAM is reminiscent of the old record clubs of the 70s and 80s; "Too good to be true" initial offers that generate trial and then ongoing ripoffs afterwards that deliver poor products and poor values to unwitting consumers.
Better to stay away than get vined into this one! Put a cork in it VINESSE!

I am sorry to hear about your experience with our company Brian. Our policy can be viewed for any to see on Vinesse.com under shipping and support. This is where most companies keep their return policies and we are very sorry if there was a misunderstanding. All of our offers do include our website and phone number so that you may review the terms and conditions for the offer you enroll into. We see that our shipping charges were not applied to your refund and we appreciate your patience in this matter.
Got the same ad discussed by everyone for $29.99 for 6 bottles of wine. I read it throughly as I've ordered from MANY wine companies before and decided to order online. Used the code provided and never got an email confirmation, delivery info, or a "member number" (apparently I had one). Since the wine shipment showed up I wasn't concerned about getting an email and let it go. The wine corks were all completely dried out and a few tasted like just vinegar. Others were okay, nothing special but I paid $3 for them so I didn't care! This month I see a charge for $135. So I called and asked what it was and they asked for my member number. I explained that I don't have one and have never gotten an email about a purchase, shipment, or member details. I told them I wanted it cancelled right away and they said they can cancel my membership but since the wine shipped they would charge me shipping and a 15% restocking fee. The operator kept repeating that everything I needed to fill out was extremely clear and he had no idea why I didn't get the emails but he couldn't resend emails with my information. This sounds like a sketchy company with rude people and as someone who ordered I can tell you THE AD WAS NOT CLEAR/TRANSPARENT so please stop telling me it was. Also should get a full refund if they can't even email me my initial "signing up email with membership information" that I "should have been aware of" but never got. Got the cancellation email right away though. VERY SKETCHY don't order from them.
No need to repeat all the negative comments - they're all true, these people ruin it for legitimate wine clubs.
Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience in this matter and find a resolution for you. We are having trouble locating your membership with the information provided. We are going to have a representative reach out to you so that you can provide us with that information, as we would like to assist you in this matter. Our goal as a wine provider is to ensure that our members are able to thoroughly enjoy any wines that we send out, whether that be for the casual wine drinker or the die hard connoisseurs. We do put a great deal of care and consideration into the selection process when choosing wines, but we realize wine is a completely subjective experience, and we want each and every one of our members to be absolutely content with every bottle. For that reason, we offer a satisfaction guarantee and love when our members make use of it to ensure they're enjoying their selections.
I also felt cheated of the promotion. First i got the first shipment and its priced right, but it included a rose. I do not drink rose wine, but i was told that it would be replaced with 2nd shipment. My second shipment awas late after it shipped, i was upset with them for "did you read the print" yet when i cancelled right away, could not stop the 2nd shipment, so i said stop after this one. They fail to tell me that i can cancel two wekks after the shipment to get the remainder mileage promotion. I tried to talk to the Suoervisor, Kimmie, and just as bad attitude to keep customer 100 percent satified. The way is advertised and they
Way the staff responds to a complain, is not congruent to the 100% satisfaction guarantee. IT IS SCAM, DECEIVING BUSINESS
Dear E. W., we regret to hear that your wine club experience has made you felt cheated regarding the airline promotion you were enrolled in. This is certainly not a scam and we would like the opportunity to resolve this matter. It does appear the remainder bonus miles you referred to had been honored. If you would like to confirm this resolution with us, please feel free to contact our customer service at (800) 823-5527. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm PST. Thank you.
Same as the others - signed up for the inexpensive trial - before I knew it i had another $133.00 shipment arriving & was unable to cancel
Answer: I don; t know what the policy is. They did agree to cancel the monyhly membership after much talking but claimed the box of wine had been sent out. They asked me not to accept the wine but UPS delivered it to a neighbor, therefore, I had to pick it up and return it. I had to pay UPS for returning the wine. It cost me money and I got no value.
Answer: I am in the same position! The website isnt even working and I cant find a phone number
