Clothes aren't what they look like online. Cheap material. Oh and don't ever return anything. They charge a label feel of $6.95 PLUS $4.95 for shipping! RIP OFF!
Ladies, I've read the reviews, and I don't think a lot of them are fair. I've been purchasing items for several years now. My wardrobe changes between not only the four seasons in my state, but also between my professional days in the office, to my nights fronting my hard rock band on stage, to slow casual weekends. Fashion changes. So should my wardrobe. I get something new when I've worn it out or the trend has flown away. Love it from the start? It's hand washed lovingly. I've found true treasures, simple trendy pieces, and unique pieces I can use with other staples of my wardrobe.
Not everything will fit or look great on every body. The return slips are easy. I put the item back in the bag, slap on the included preprinted return label, and I'm contacted in a week with an email note that customer service is processing my return.
Things that are exceptional looking sell quickly. Don't put an item in your cart, wait three weeks, and think your size will still be available. Did I mention the excellent returns if it doesn't work for you?

After shopping this catalog for my very picky teenage daughter :) she found two. The only she liked the most had BLEACH stains on it. They were going to be for our family vacation. So sent it back, during vacation. Long story short... got a credit slip for $9.10 not even a REFUND. It was $29 dress nothing fancy, when I called the customer service department, she stated that was because the $12.95 shipping n handling plus the $6.95 return label (which I was aware of). So I asked her why would I pay shipping and handling? She started to read from her 'cheat sheets' just ridiculous to be honest. I PERSONALLY WOULDN'T BUY FROM HERE AGAIN. I LOVE THE CONVENIENCE OF ONLINE SHOPPING BUT BEING SCREWED WITH. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is what I call highway robbery. My wife ordered two items, 84 dollars worth yesterday. Today, I get an email saying I owe $46 in "Duty" and "Taxes".
This is not the first time I purchase something on line, but I have NEVER been ripped off so bad. More than 50% additional charges and probably hidden in these crooks fine print.

I've used the site for several years and found it to have good selection. Quality is not "top notch" but ok for the price. I have had incorrect items sent and found it too much of a hassle to send back. However my last experience with Venus will be... well my last experience with Venus.
Their processing makes no sense. My order showed as sent yet the fact my shipping address did not match my cc addresses meant they could not process. The notification came from "credit card services" and my computer thought that was scammy. I called and even though I still had 9 days before my vacation there was no way they could get the order to me - no expedited shipping to Canada possible.
Happily I found many other sites that seemed to care about customer services and offer fast shipping (at a price which is fine). As for addresses matching even though both are entered into the purchase information separately and indicated as such... well can't say I've come across that before in spite of this having been the case in respect of hundreds of purchases... including past purchases from Venus.
Neither the person taking my call nor the supervisor I asked to speak to had any sincere interest in the issues with their policies or of course my failed purchase.
There are lots of great on-line sellers out there - my recommendation is to find these and avoid Venus

Generally, when orders are held by Credit Card Services, this just means that the billing address provided does not match or that your ship to address needs to be verified by the card holder for your security. Unfortunately, we only have one shipping courier to Canada, BorderGuru. This shipping courier is generally able to deliver packages within 3-5 business days. Since, our only location is in Jacksonville, Florida, we do not have other method to have packages delivered to Canada in a quicker timeframe. We would love to make this right. I occasionally shop on that site; one should browse through items for a long time because the clothes are way too "fancy" to my testing, or to be more precise- simply tasteless, with weird insets or cuts in the wrong places, or too much embellishments etc etc. Some items however are good. The quality depends... you should really read description carefully. I would say, the quality is somewhere between WMart and Target. What bothers me is that customer service. If you push the button "To Place An Order" -they'll be there for you from beginning to the end. But if it's about questions- good luck! They cut on you, even when you are already with representative, discussing your order status. It happened 4 times to me, so if you want them to stay with you, press 1 to participate in survey.
Also, they list back-ordered items as "shipped" in your order status ( which never happens with other companies) and I consider it misleading. I would never knew it but decided to check my orders online, since I was wondering where are items I ordered 3 months ago! VENUS, poor management! And you should do better training on people you hire. I am now questioning whether should I stop shopping here

This was my first time ordering online and what a horrible experience. I took my time looking through many items and found a coat and dress, with hope it would be on time for my Christmas party, but two days later received an email saying the order couldn't be processed. The card shows it has been charged. I called three different times, first time the lady was so rude to me and sounded exasperated and annoyed, put me on hold for a long time then transfers me and I ended up having to explain the situation all over again to a woman who could barely speak or understand English. Second time I called I thought the situation had been handled finally and would be getting my things according to their rep, however two days later still no confirmation email which prompted my next call to the company. After one final attempt to get my order shipped and or get my money back, was yet again treated like an invalid by a snotty, annoyed sounding woman ( lots of sighs and talking slowly and repeating herself). So my advice is do your research about companies like this so you don't have a similar experience. How unfortunate that this is what you can expect these days. Side note: I had a great experience with Lulus and got a great dress for my party!

This was the first time I shopped at Venus.com. I was a tad skeptical based on some not-so-great reviews I read concerning the fit/quality of the clothes and the return process. Well, I took a chance and ordered some clothes for a Vegas trip. All in all I ordered a dress, wedge sandals, skinny jeans, and 4 tops. Everything fit true to size, looked the same as it did online, and the quality was really good too. I did have to return a few items but it was because I changed my mind. They provided return shipping label in the box and the instructions clearly indicated that if I used their label I would be charged a shipping fee of $6.75. No big deal. In about a week I received an email saying my return was received and I should expect a refund within 5-7 business days. I got my refund the next day. In some of the reviews I read some folks were pissed about that fee. Honestly, providing that label upfront and just offsetting my refund was a heck of a lot easier than wasting a lunch break, standing in the line at the post office. I have been very impressed by the whole experience with Venus.com and will definitely continue to shop there.
I got referred to VENUS by my sister who is getting married next week and wanted one of their dresses to be worn on the big day. It was a last minute arrangement and the dress is my gift to her. I ordered the dress and since we are located in Canada chose their fastest (and most expensive) international delivery option, which promised the dress to be delivered in 1-3 business days, paid all the duties and taxes upfront. It's been 4 days already and the dress is nowhere close. According to the tracking information, it should be delivered by Tuesday (it's Friday today) and the wedding is on Wednesday. If they provided the accurate shipping info, we wouldn't have ordered from them and bought local instead. There were also issues with the processing the order and I had to call customer service twice first to clarify numerous attempts of charging my credit card and second to inquire about the delivery dates. Haven't seen the dress yet, but am very disappointed with the service. Love the styles, but will not order again.
UPDATE: the dress was received 6 business days after purchase. The dress was very nice, the size was right on and it arrived on time for the event. VENUS also offered an apology and issued a full refund for the delivery fee.

I have been ordering for years like over 5 years from Venus.com. In the past 6 months things have changed severely and not for the better. Quality of clothes has dropped way off. Don't bother to wash anything it will fall apart, or shrink. But, I liked a couple of dresses for the holidays so I thought I would try again. $136 order on 12/14 with over night shipping additional. 12/18 no order called told it was lost in warehouse and would be going out over night. 12/20 no order call told it has not been processed on chat by Angel Gates, who did nothing more and told me she needed to get off chat. Asked for supervisor told to call, she said she couldn't provide a name. I called and was placed on hold waiting for supervisor. Then before I could talk to anyone hung up on... twice! Called again and Kelsey answered she took the time to look up order and to see what could be done. She even went another step and said she would call me personally when it shipped. SO now I wait still mad but not at Kelsey at all of her other co-workers that just treat a job like it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, I will wait for this order and now will only shop at Boston Proper.
Quality was never their strong suit. Everything was made in China so sizes were a toss of a coin. I recently made a $300+ order with Venus, it came promptly, but when I opened each item I was more and more disappointed. Stitching is awful, fabric thin and practically see-though, the use of photoshop in their sample photos must be outrageous because when it comes you'd swear it's not the same thing! The boots... oh the boots. For $70 you'd think these would be the cherry. These EXACT boots can be found on Amazon for $19.95 (free shipping) along with a few other items I ordered. Cheap laces, no eyelets for the laces, soles glued in sloppy. I'd rather go to DSW. At least at DSW the quality is amazing. Everything Venus sells comes from China. It says so on their tags! I loved the creative styles of their clothing. How you wouldn't find these things in store, the quality was alright, and they were less expensive. But with the lack of quality vs. the price they want for these things... it's not worth it. I'm returning the box for refund.

Have been ordering for years from Venus for years most of them are nice, the worst is the company they use for shipping LANDMARK they are thieves they said they drop your stuff off and did not I was in my front yard all day gardening and no one came.

WHATEVER you do, DON'T get a credit card from this company. Twice I called their Customer Service Dept about late fees being added to a $40 dollar balance I never received a statement for. I updated my address over the phone with TWO DIFFERENT CS agents, and still have NOT received a statement or card in the mail as they promised twice. Since that time, Commenity Bank, who manages credit for Venus, keeps adding late fees to my balance, which is now $77.00. The Customer Service Agents PROMISED they would remove all late fees so I could pay my $41 and something dollars, but each of them FAILED to do what they said they would and instead added late charges to a balanced I TRIED TO PAY! They lied, misrepresented and falsified. DON'T EVER GET VENUS CREDIT! IN FACT, MAYBE STOP SHOPPING FROM THEM ALTOGETHER; THEY OVERCHARGE AND THEY STEAL.

I live in Canada. I placed 2 large orders 5 days apart. I chose STANDARD shipping (21 days +) & I also used their offer of a promo for FREE shipping.
But 3 days after my 2nd order, BOTH ORDERS ARRIVED AT POST OFFICE marked COD... WITH A TOTAL DUE OF $1000. What happened to my free shipping? Insult to injury: Venus employee insisted the $1000 fee was "duties & taxes" (NOT) & rudely told me, "I have nothing to do with your country."
I have ordered from Venus a few times and each time has been a huge disappointment. The clothing material is extremely cheap and the craftsmanship is horrible. The clothing either fell apart or faded after the first few washes. Knowing this, I still ordered a pair of boots from their most recent fall catalog. Here we go:
The boots in the catalog looked beautiful. There were gorgeous details on them. The buckles were a very classy touch... I could not wait to get them... and then yesterday, they arrived.
The boots were made out of some type of horrible and cheap plastic looking material. Sure, the description of the boot was labeled as synthetic but I did not think too much about the word. I have a few pairs of shoes labeled as synthetic... but these boots were a joke! Those suckers were returned before the sun went down that day... Do your self a favor, keep away from their boots... and alot of other things... They are changing you out the $#*! for things and their merchandise is totally worthless... I am not trying to be mean or slam anyone... but I would hate for someone else to fall into this synthetic boot trap~ :)
I place my order and paid extra for rush delivery because I couldn't wait to get my new clothing. I bought four dresses to choose from for an upcoming wedding a Sweater and a maxiskirt.
Sad to say the dresses were very poor and cheap quality like something you would find in a bodega shop in a shady neighborhood for $10. One of the dresses was completely see-through! Like who is actually wearing this? Then there's the $59 sweater. Looked expensive and worth $59 on the Catalog but When I saw it I felt like a dumbass for paying $59. I wouldn't pay $8 for it tops that's how cheap it looked. The maxi-skirt, I can make it work and that's the only thing I got out of this bad deal.
The Only good thing is that I get a full refund.

I just bought 2 bathing suits and spent around $120 because my past Venus swim suits were of good quality. But these new ones are not. I bought 2 skirted bottoms and waist of TAHITI FLORALS(THF) is sewn inside out not like the web photos at all, horrible. And the other BLOSSOMING BRIGHTS(BMB) has good waistline but white bottoms underneath looks like cheat diaper, I have 20 skirted bottom and non are white or totally different than outer pattern. I love the top patterns though. The tops are great but with the bottoms so bad not sure what to do, non returnable. So Sad

Answer: I've been buying from Venus FOR YEARS(!) so I was so surprised at all the bad reviews. Yes, occasionally I've been unhappy with a purchase BUT it's rare; and yes, there was a couple of items that I found "cheap-looking" (but I'm super-careful to read the material description prior to purchase - sometimes you can just tell). Their sizing surprises me though... I'm usually a large in regular & a XL in juniors BUT I always wear a Medium in Venus clothing (5'1", 115 lbs, 36D) - I'm thinking that they cater to the "busty"? (Or maybe the clothes ARE made in China?) Who knows... don't care... their clothes are different from anywhere else & I always get compliments - especially from my husband! However, after 15 + yrs as a customer, I must admit I was unaware they offered free returns (good to know :), but happy I've only returned 2 or 3 items & didn't have any issues - re-packed (w/in 30 days), dropped at PO & rec'd credit on my CC. My ONLY complaint with Venus is the prices; the trick is to wait for a sale (and PS, there prices change every 24-72 hours - NOT kidding!) Everyone has an opinion... if YOU like their clothes, give them a try & form your own - you may just be missing out on fashions that'll look great on you!

Answer: The quality of these closes are horrible! I bought a sweatshirt and the large pocket on the front was down on crooked and the seams on both sides were very uneven. The $70 boots I bought were awful. They both said 7 1/2 but 1 didn't fit at all and they both had holes in the shoes.
Answer: I am a perfect size 8 in say an Old Navy sweater which makes me a M. I am a M with Venus I feel their sizes are way closer to being realistic than say Victoria Secret. Apparently at Victoria Secrets no one has arms or hips. I'm 5'5,135 lbs, size 8 in normal close yet if I pay alot of money for say a dress that dress could be a 6, like at Nordstroms, Yet if I went into say Forever 21 just to get a shirt/sweater/dress chances are I would purchase a Large because they cater to teens.
