Company is a fraud and will scam you. I paid for insurance and had to cancel my trip to Colombia last minute due to a family emergency. They would not honor it even though on their website I had the basic plan (so I was willing to eat their fees to cancel I get thats how business works). I documented that as well. I would wait an hour just to get someone on the phone. My friends and I (who also lost money), would call in and be told to wait on hold only to be hung up on. When I asked the name of one of the reps he said "Santa Claus".
I also recorded all of these conversations so if you would like footage contact me on Facebook at Haider Bashir. Just pay the extra couple of dollars for someone that is reliable. Do not make the same mistake my friends and I made.
The kicker is I reached out to their management in Linkedin too and no response.
On 9/21/10 I purchased a ticket to Costa Rica leaving 11/10/10 & returning 1/8/11. Upon receipt of the confirmation, they changed the leave date to 10/6 & return 10/13. I called & they advised a ticket change will cost me an additional $1,214. On top of the $1,036. They already collected. I called Continental direct and got the ticket changed for $955. Total cost $1,991. Continental online special at that time was only $1,556. Thanks to using Vayama, instead of saving $520, I paid an additional $435. Above Continental's price. Researching on the Web for Vayama Reviews indicates this is a consistent practice of theirs, changing dates and/or adding additional fees.
They charged me double for one booking reference, every time that I called them just one operator answered and I tried to talk with a supervisor but that operator refused, he was very impolite, their cancellation fee is too expensive and unfair
The only thing different with Vayama is that we may have to wait a day before we receive the confirmed ticket. In my case the ticket was emailed within an hour after booking and the booking reference code was valid on the airline site the next day. I paid $200 less than the cheapest available tickets out there. I am sure Vayama is a credible company or else it would have been shutdown by now.
I booked my tickets to India from their website. They didn't send any confirmation and I called them after an hour. They said the booking failed but they charged my debit card and said the money would be refunded in 4-5 business days. What the heck? How can someone charge the card when the booking failed? They are basically playing a game. They show low fares on various portals and attract customers to their website, even though they know they can't get that fare from the airlines. After that they will say the booking didn't go through but charge the card and keep the money in their account for few days. This is the worst travel agency I have dealt with so far. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
Hi,
Vayama has charged me TWICE for the same reservation. They agree a dupe ticket had been charged (equal to the amount for 2 business class passengers). I keep hearing from them they are trying to resolve and waiting for airlines to respond. The airline has been very responsive to me already and have said this is on Vayama of course since we booked with them. How else can I contact the Senior management to get this resolved. I have never booked with Vayama before, the first time and they charge me double :(
I purchased 2 tickets to visit Russia with travel insurance and the Corona virus pandemic hit so I called and canceled my flight and to my surprise they charged me anyway for the thickets I was not able to speak to anyone and by email they did not respond accordingly! Do not use this Web site for any of your travels their customer service is the worse. I do have all the correspondence in case Vayama would like to answer this complaint.
I have been sending 30 mails back and fourth to vayama to try get back the refund of over 500 usd that they promised was on the way. Every time they say that the money has been refunded and when I ask for proof of transfer, the make up silly excuses that the money is not transferred from them and that I should contact the airline company. When i contact the Sri Lankan airline, they told me they will not give out refund information that is booked through third party agent. When I told vayama, they just kept telling me to refer back to airline company... Its over 12.5 weeks since 18 october. Its 8 of January now..
Worst experience ever! When I finally arrived at the check in desk, my booking could not be found in the system although Vayama took the money and CONFIRMED my booking on the phone. Their mess up caused me a lot of damages. I had to stay overnight in a hotel and all they did was an apology and a refund but no reimbursement of the damages at all. I ended up booking it directly from the airline paying twice the price. Never book with Vayama if you want to guarantee a seat!
Buyer DO NOT buy from this company! Worst company with the worst customer service ever! I just lost $1000 ticket because of them. I am 100% sure their system $#*!ed up and put the billing information in passenger information, as I definitely confirmed i had all information correct before clicking purchase. Please be aware do not buy, their technical error will cost you!
Vayama gave me the option of a refund due to a flight cancellation. I was told that it would be two billing cycles until I got my money which I thought was an inconvenience but acceptable. They later told me that it would be three months because the refund was initiated on the 1st day of the month so I had missed the first billing cycle. It's now been 120 days and I still have not received a refund. The customer service representatives have either lied to me or don't know what they're doing. They have admitted to messing up my refund yet do not see interested in making an attempt to keep to their own stated refund deadline. Horrible company, will never deal with the again and would recommend you don't either.
Avoid stress and DO NOT book through this company!
I had my flight cancelled about 6 months they never contact me to update or whatsoever. If for some reason you have your flight changed or cancelled you will be screwed because they simple do not care!
Pay more and buy through another agency VAYAMA is a scam!
If you have a problem or any issues, God help you. Waited 3 weeks for a refund & the refund amount is a lot lower than what should have been.
Every time I called, I was on hold for more than 45 minutes. Forget about emailing them. They ask you to call.
Terrible service!
Booked a family trip with this agency, paid for cancellation insurance. Turns out the cancellation insurance only covers "agency" fees and not "airline fees". Upon getting hit with a $300 cancellation fee, I asked the agent what my refund total would be after the cancellation, all he said was "one hundred something..." I asked "One hundred something? Isn't there an exact amount?" He repeated "you are getting One hundred something..." I then asked him for a confirmation number and he said " there is no confirmation, my name is Eric my name is your confirmation." NEVER again will I book through them. Horrible Horrible and super rude customer support. I am most certain they make up their own illegal policies and purposely lie to their clients. STAY AWAY!
It's simply horrible.
The website might be ok to navigate but there is no number and no customer service can be reached.
I purchased a ticket and I have to change it now, and even though I purchased their Premium pack, it is still very difficult to figure out how to change it. No ability on web site and no phone number to call.
The email reply I am receiving are either automated or from people that don't even read my question. Frustrating and ridiculous. I will never purchase a ticket on this site anymore.
30 June 2018. I made a reservation from Denver to St. Petersburg, Russia on Vayama.com, after searching kayak.com. After I got to Russia, I realized I needed to make a change. In trying to do so, I experienced the worst customer service I have ever encountered when dealing with a flight reservation. I had to send 4 or 5 emails, make several calls, and spent approximately 1 hr. Holding on the phone with no answer. I did reach them through their website email and was advised of the additional fare of a $200.00, additional charge. I accepted this fare increase, and responded to their email that I wanted to make the reservation. There was no response. My next step was to contact their +31 emergency phone number. I was able to make the change for additional charge of $1050. 00. I had already spent over $3000 on the fare for two adults. I will never use Kayak.com or Vayama.com again.
We tried to fix a spelling mistake on a ticket. We have been given the runaround for weeks. Promises that it would be taken care of we broken over and over. Customer reps just keep hanging up on us.
The absolutely worst experience. Give your business to a legitimate company.
We booked our trip 2 months in advance for $1565.
However, Vayama cancelled 4 out of 5 of our tickets without telling us prior to departure.
We spent 2 hours at the ticket counter trying to board. Finally fixed, we thought as we boarded.
Once on vacation and checking in to return, we realized Vayama only fixed the departure leg. We were stuck without a return ticket. We spent even more time out of our vacation with Vayama on the phone.
They said they have to charge me again to return home?!?! Another $910! However, they did say they'd credit me $500 for the hassle and major inconvenience.
It took three months with numerous hours on the phone to finally get credit back, but only for the $910.
Really, Vayama?! You messed up. Live up to your word.
Run people far, far away from this travel service.
I was very hesitant to book via Vayama despite being priced around $500 cheaper then all other sites since i saw mostly negative reviews...
Upon completing the booking I received a booking request number. Half hour later the actual booking number arrived. I quickly verified it with the airline and all looks good.
I needed to update my last name to reflect my new renewed passport. They wanted me to cancel my flight at a $200 charge & then repurchase it at whatever the current price was. And was told it would take up to 4 weeks to be refunded
Answer: Go to webjet they are better
Answer: Don't do it -- not worth it. They won't actually book you on those flights your seeing, and will change your itinerary before your flight actually goes out. -- So much so I was booked on a flight that made me miss my connection, and they said I had no choice but to rebook that leg of my trip 2 days prior or after... so I asked for a refund and it's being "approved" -- $700 down the drain.
