Poor customer service
February 4, 2022

Absolutely think the owner of this company needs to hear about his employee's and the way they help the customers that have booked with them. I was asking for a refund on my reservations due to inclement weather keeping me from traveling halfway across the United States. No offer on a credit for future reservations or anything. The representative had nothing to say except sorry but we can't go back on our policy, the owner wouldn't make any money if we went back on our policies. Wasn't asking for his bank account, just my money back on the reservations. I booked this through Airbnb and they generously refunded what they could and referred me to the host to collect the rest. I guess the owner of the company really needs this $467. Too bad the customer support couldn't be any better help than they are. Would not recommend anyone to book with Vacasa, pretty sure Vacasa is not the only place to book in the area you are visiting.

Thank you for your review, Mike. We regret to hear this was your experience as this is not the high standard that we hold ourselves to. Please know you booked through Airbnb, which is a third-party booking site. We are legally required by Airbnb to follow their cancelation policy with no exceptions. We apologize that we are not able to extend the same policies that we have when booked directly through us. We hope you will give us another chance to impress you in the future.

They canceled our rental the day we were to check in. Our option was a unit half the size with a boarded window. The glass shards were sticking out of snow by the door. We called multiple times with no response. Terrible customer service. Owners should be aware they are not taking care of renters.

Terrible
February 2, 2022

On a recent ski club trip to Telluride (01/2022) we rented four units from Vacasa. All units had signed contracts and deposits all paid. Vacasa over the course of a few months cancelled all of our units. They claimed the units had become "unavailable". They offered us a different unit. The replacement unit was not acceptable, in the wrong location and had the wrong bedroom and bed configurations. They were very stubborn and did not care. We had to fight to get our money back, (which took almost 8 weeks). We had already paid for airline tickets, ski rentals, lift tickets etc. We needed to find alternative lodging which became very difficult. In the end we found lodging but ending up spending a lot more money.
Vacasa customer service and "relocation specialists" did not seem to care that they wrecked our vacations. We fought with them to get our money back and to get the difference from what we originally paid to Vacasa and then for the new rentals. In the end our club is out $3,000. Be informed, do not rent from Vacasa.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry for the poor communication surrounding your reservation and regret to hear this was your experience. We strive to have excellent, guest-focused service and we apologize that we missed the mark this time. A full refund has been issued for the reservations. We regret that the alternative options presented were not suitable for your party and that a more efficient resolution was not able to be addressed. We do hope for another opportunity to better impress you next time.

CRAZY MANAGEMENT!
January 29, 2022

We joined Vacasa right before they went public. Since then we have been assigned two different managers... both of them an absolute waste of time. The last one has not answered in 2-3 weeks! An absolute mess!

Hello, Brooke. We regret to hear that you were not able to make your stay. Please note we do offer trip insurance while booking to help protect our guests and their trips from unforeseen circumstances. We were offering future stay credits for any Vacasa home within a year of the original booking which is outside our normal cancelation policy. We like many companies are working hard to help not only our guests but our homeowners, and our team as best as possible through the ever-changing rules and regulations caused by COVID. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hello, Lona. We do provide the full price with taxes and fees prior to booking, so guests will not be surprised. Our pricing is dynamic, much like a flight's pricing, and takes into consideration everything from how many homes of similar size are available in our inventory, to the home's location, and what holidays or events are occurring in the community. We are available 24-hours to help our guests find the best possible home for their stay no matter their desired location, amenities, or budget. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.

Checked in for 2 nights. Get there to find a huge gas leak under the house. Was told by the owner@ VaCasa not to call the gas company, that "their" people would come and check. He came, waved his wand in the air, and said there was nothing. Slept overnight with still very strong gas leak smell and called again in the am. Said still do not call gas.Co., sending someone out. Waited our whole day for him to come, he found 2 leaks under the house under 2 seperate foundations. Apparently he fixed the leaks, but was told we could not use the furnace. Its freezing at the beach, seriously! Had to do our work outside. Ended up with maigraine,, and had I not kept all windows and doors open along with the house fan on all night, myself and family of 5 might not have woke up, or the house could have exploded. The airbnb and the owners Vacasa would not accept the severity of this matter and are no longer responding to my messages. Makes me wonder why they were so against calling the gas co to come out? Maybe because the sale of the place is pending, and they dont want to mess that up. Well they ruined the 3 days we were there for vacation by not fixing the leak in a timely matter, so I will make sure they get inconvenienced just as much as we were for our 3 day get a way ruined by gas, and an unprofessional company. I will never use Vacasa, nor will anybody that I associate with. Very disappointed!

VACASA managed our family beach house in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We didn't hire them, they acquired/purchased our prior property management company, Myer Vacation Rentals. Since then, they have failed repeatedly to provide even a minimal level of service to our guests and to us. Our home has been rented multiple times in a filthy condition. See the after they "cleaned" photos below. We have asked that the money paid by us and our guests for cleaning be refunded. To this point no one has received a refund. Taking money for doing something and not doing it is the same as stealing in my opinion. I have heard from multiple sources that they pay their cleaners some of the lowest rates in the Gulf Shores area. You get what you pay for, as they scrape the bottom of the barrel to clean the properties they manage.
We had storm damage to our home that VACASA told us was repaired. Luckily a kind neighbor sent us photos of the house showing it still damaged, despite the fact that VACASA told us it was repaired AND charged us for the repairs. Our property representative showed up to a meeting at our house to discuss the above repairs at noon drunk/hungover and smelling of alcohol. No wonder they are not completing their management walkthroughs after cleaning is complete! I have sent multiple emails including to the Assistant General Manager for the Alabama Gulf Coast with multiple photos of dirt, wrong size air filters (wonder if there is damage to our HVAC system?), amateur electrical repairs, questions about a potential HOLE in our roof, with no resolution or real response after weeks of asking. Never an apology, never accepted any responsibility? We have terminated our relationship with VACASA, due to their complete lack of performance and their apparent total focus on volume and growth and their complete lack of concern for any kind of quality experience for their guests or homeowners. Find a local company that is immersed and invested in their local community to book your vacation or manage your home.

I haven't even stayed in the property yet but the experience I have had with customer service is unbelievable! We are renting a home for our family for the weekend to attend our daughter's wedding and we have three small children (one newborn and one 2yr old) and I was hoping to have an early check-in (one hour) so I can have some baby items dropped off which was the only time that worked. Vacasa said that we are not allowed on the property until 4pm and no exceptions will be made. Even though no one is renting the house before us and the home is already clean and empty they would not accommodate us and made no apology for it. I called a second time hoping to get someone with a little more compassion and she was just as rude as the first customer service agent. I own a vacation property myself and would have been more than happy to accommodate a guest's needs if we could. I won't be renting from Vacasa again!

Hello, Dena. We regret to hear of the negative experience you had while communicating with our team. Please note this is not commonplace as we work hard to provide the best guest services possible. Due to COVID-19, our housekeeping team needs additional time to implement their Premium Clean procedures to ensure guest safety. Because of this, we are unable to allow early check-in or late check-out at this time. We are implementing this policy across the board for all of our homes. We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to hosting you again.

3 bedrooms each had there own bathrooms plus a guest bathroom. All the bedrooms had double beds so if you are bring teenage children like we did, it might not be suitable unless you don't mind putting one or two of them on a hide-a-bed or mattresses on the floor in the living room. One of the bedrooms is a type of loft that has an open window to the living room, so it is not quiet if someone is a light sleeper. It was nice to have a washer and dryer and soap and softener was supplied. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans. It was an easy walk to the lifts and there were sleds available to carry stuff to the condo since you cannot drive directly to it. We found the caretakers very helpful and they helped us take our luggage and skis down even though we had not made arrangements ahead of time. There is a ski rental place a short walk away that is cheaper than the one in the village and they even gave us discounts if they recognized that we had rented the day before. All this being said it was verrry expensive compared to other places that we have rented there before.
Also, the Jacuzzi was not working, so check that they have repaired it before you rent.

We rented a home for a family vacation ($3600!). 13 days before our trip began, our 72 and 77 year old parent's home burned to the ground in the Marshall Fire (Louisville, CO). We asked Vacasa for a partial credit to vacation at a later date and were told no exceptions. I will never book with Vacasa again! At least with Airbnb you can tell the home owner about why you need to cancel and get some kind of human understanding.

Vacasa sucks!
January 22, 2022

I had reserved a vacation rental and paid in full in advance. 28 days before our rental I broke my ankle and Vacasa is taking 50% of my payment as a penalty. When I complained they said I should submit it for insurance reimbursement. That's not a high integrity move and you have to wonder where else they lack integrity.

This company is so unprofessional and run by young people who don't know what they are doing or how to communicate. I went through 3 women who were all awful to work with. I couldn't get any answers about my house and what was going on without being accused of being "ugly". I called out the woman who said that to me in an text asking her to tell me how I was being ugly - she kept ignoring the question, so I just kept posting the question "how am I being ugly?". She finally said that I wasn't. I felt young again as it felt like I was back in Jr. High. Good lord. The unprofessional behavior with these reps was astounding and I have pulled the listing from them only after one rental. Do NOT use them to handle your property... they are awful in my opinion. I have all the saved texts too if nobody believes me...

So impressed
January 19, 2022

Forgive me if this is a little long.
We originally booked through VRBO
Come to find out it was actually a vacasa rental
Two days before we were supposed to check in to our seven day Beachhouse rental vacasa called us at 10 o'clock at night to let us know that there was a leak in our home and it was no longer available
My husband and I drove 20 hours so we were somewhere in Alabama when we got the call
In two days our whole family 10 people were flying to meet us in Florida
Vicasa literally spent all night long on the phone and through emails making sure they found us a property that worked for us
Not only did they find us a property they found one that cost even more money and they paid the difference
We had never used Vacasa before
I can tell you we will be a fan and a lifelong customer they went above and beyond to make this right with us
I am 100% sure VRBO and Airbnb would have not accommodated us the way Vacasa did
This could've ended up being a disaster I do want to give a special shout out to Terry W
She is a relocation specialist and she was bound and determined to save this trip for us we are forever grateful and like I said a customer from here on out

I went to their website today and found a nice cabin at Starr Crest Resort: Great View Lodge. It was advertised as low as $117 a night. I know that's the lowest out of season pricing and expected a higher rate for summer. But the summer rate was almost 10x higher at $970 a night. I got all the way to the purchase now screen. I called customer service and when they asked what days I wanted I told them the day priced at $117 a night. Since it was advertised it should be there or that's not a real rate which makes them liars. So she looks in her computer and says the cabin was fully booked up from Feb 1st through Dec 31. Every day. Every single one. But i told the lady the website said I could book July and wanted me to pay 50% of an $8000 dollar rental. I ended up going elsewhere for my rental. In the end they are liars with false advertising and shady computers. Would never give them my business.

This is a warning to avoid renting any property from this management company. We had the most frustrating and scary situation in the property we rented, we never found the unit and walked 2.5 hours around a complex in Hilton Head SC. We gave up and returned the keys immediately and clearly communicated our experience to the management office. They are refusing any sort of a refund and clearly do not care. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Good luck if you rent from them.

I stayed at a Vacasa property on Anna Maria Island, Florida from October 24-28. One day before my arrival Vacasa notified me of a bee infestation (which they had known about for some time) at the house I had rented. The contact was not to express concern about my wife's and my own safety but to tell me we had to clear out of the house for a day so the bees could be removed. As regards our safety we were just told to stay away from the hive. The hive was a few yards from the front door and between the front door and the ocean-facing patio which, as a result, was unusable for our entire stay. Naturally upset at the intrusion and lack of empathy I asked that the bee removal be rescheduled. Upon returning from dinner at 8:00pm one evening we found the bee removers just unpacking their tools. For the next two hours we listened to power tools outside our front window. As it was impossible for the bee people to get all the bees, so for the rest of our stay they continued to swarm and were even more aggressive than before. I contacted Vacasa about a partial refund. I offered to share video evidence of the swarming bees and the noise and intrusion of the removal work. They showed zero interest in my complaint. Their two sentence non-response ended with a "have a nice day" which I found insulting after their incompetent and uncaring service. I'm retired and travel extensively. I'll never stay at another Vacasa managed property and have, in fact, eliminated several of their places from consideration on trips since this occurred in October.

Tony, we deeply apologize for the bee infestation that affected your stay with us. Please know that our guests' safety is our highest priority and should there ever be any safety concerns we take every opportunity to rectify the concerns as they occur. We do feel it is important to note that our team did everything in our power to ensure that you and your family were taken care of, prior to your arrival, whether that be by offering to move your reservation to another home, refunding you, or being present during the bee removal. We do regret that these measures were not satisfactory for your party and will work with our local team to strengthen our service practices for future guests. Thank you for allowing us the chance to improve.
