What a joke! We are currently on our last night here, thank goodness. While the property is beautiful, the amenities are horrible. States a gourmet kitchen: coffee maker does not work, stove does not work, hardly any items in kitchen to work with. Washing machine does not work. No water in the tub. The pier boards are rotted so beware trying to get out there. When we checked in the towels were wet. Just horrible. I have stayed at tons of VRBO houses and will never book another through Vacasa. They will not respond on any of these problems.
Here are more notes that I sent:
Coffee maker did not work (I burned my hand trying to make old fashion way of pouring boiling water), Oven did not work, Towels were wet on arrival, half of toaster did not work, no drinking water available (told do not drink tap water), no dishwasher so told to do our dishes but no drying rack, towels. No hot pads to cook with, hardly any cookware and what is there is horrible, could not get ceiling fan to work in master bedroom, smoke detector woke me up in middle of first night and had to rip out battery.
Also, the pier is in such disrepair with broken boards you could not go on it.

DO NOT rent from Vacasa!
It takes a lot to get me fired up, but I woke up at 3am freezing because the cabin heat is off again!
****I was on hold 50 minutes before I got a live person…. And I was told it's after hours and they will NOT send anyone to fix the heat until after 10am!
Btw…. We check out at 10am.
My only heat source is a fireplace that is set to a timer. So I have to stay up to continue turning on the fireplace to keep it warm-ish for my kids…. Then drive home on 4 hours of sleep!
Please share!
Things happen like heat going out, but this company does not take care of their guests!
Over $500 for 2 nights and this is the 2nd time with no heat…. But this time they won't fix it because it's "after business hours".
It is currently 24 degrees outside!
I asked for a partial refund…. I was told their refund limit is $100 but he would have to submit that form for approval.

THIS PLACE!

I'm pretty good when it comes to planning vacations, but I out did myself this time. THIS PLACE was amazing and set a new standard for how we vacation. The house was perfectly located, very clean, and well appointed. From the bedding, to the dishes, to the appliances, even the coffee cups. They left no stone unturned. They even had chip clips for large bags of potato chip. Who does that?! Since I've been back home I've been looking for larger houses as now other family members want to join us this year. But, nothing even comes close. THIS PLACE was amazing!

Arrived at location, heat not working, place not cleaned (full dishwasher, dirty kitchen, trash). Vacasa couldn't send anyone to help. They offered no alternative. It was late and roads were icy. For safety, we asked to stay for the night and would leave the next morning. They told us to leave or face a police escort. Eventually, after hours on the phone, while my 77 year old parents sat shivering in the corner, they set us up with a another place and suggested they would comp the new and original location for our trouble. They went back on their word and still billed us $580. Horrible customer service.

As a homeowner Vacasa is a terrible partner. The problems that I had with them were way too many to list here, Every time I went to my vacation home I had to spend the first day at the hardware store to get parts for things that should have been repaired by the management company. The most telling experience that I had was that they added a "booking fee" on top of the rental fee without notifying me. They reduced that rental rate so I received less money. The guest ended up paying about the same for the rental, but my payment was based in the lower rent. These guys can not be trusted.

The management fee we take from the rent cost helps us pay for our local, on-the-ground staff, upkeep of the home, copywriters, photographers, etc. Our booking fee helps us cover the cost of the credit card processing fees for each reservation, 24/7 customer experience support team, and helps us fund other administrative costs, so owners can relax with a truly hands-off experience because we do it all, and our dynamic pricing allows us to set the right price at the right time to gather the greatest number of bookings at the home, so though the overall cost of each reservation might come a little bit less than the owner is used to, their year over year income is increased!

I am normally very cautious. This company stole $1200 by having a no refund policy in place when a winter storm caused a no travel situation per the National Weather Service. Not even an offer to reschedule. Please do not use them or an associated company like Booking.com who, by the way, cannot override a Vacasa rip off.

Poor Management

VaCasa provides sub-par property management. When my unit was being painted, they were to check to make sure it was painted properly. Below are photographs of what they approved. There is no management and high turnover for the owners' representatives. I would never use them again.

We (family of 4) rented a cabin in Camp Connell. We drove 4 hours to get there only to find a cabin covered in snow and no path to get to the front door. We drudged through 3 ft of snow with our suitcases and made our own track. The code we were given opened the door. Once inside, the place was a disaster. The mess from the previous tenants had not been cleaned. Garbage cans were full, dirty towels on the floor, bedding on the floor, dirty dishes, fridge still had their food and crumbs everywhere. This place did not follow any COVID-19 cleaning protocols. After repeated phone calls to Vacasa, we were left on hold for over an hour only to be disconnected. We gave up and decided to clean the place ourselves. The only cleaner in the house glass cleaner. We had to wash all the linens and there were only 2 laundry pods left. We had 4 large garbage bags full of the previous tenants sitting in our kitchen. We received a phone call the next morning from Vacasa telling us that we shouldn't be there and that our reservation was cancelled, but they failed to inform us. They offered to bring us cleaning supplies, but they never showed up. Later, during our 2nd day, the power went out. We were without power for 24 hours. We used up what wood was left to burn and keep us warm. We all had to sleep on the floor in front of the fireplace. We were woken up at 5 am by the severe coldness in the cabin. The cabin was 40 degrees. We also did not have hot water. We were running out of food too. The driveway was covered in snow and there was no way we could move our car. The driveway needed to be plowed. After more phone calls and "on hold" sessions to Vacasa, nothing was being done. Fortunately, there was a snow plow in the area and he cleared our driveway and towed our car back to the main road. We were thankful for him! I was traveling with my husband to 2 young kids. This trip made me feel like I was trapped! Vacasa should be held responsible for negligence.

Don't waste your money

Vacasa charged us for an extra night. The condo is absolutely disgusting. There are roaches. Things are broken. Customer service offers absolutely no resolution to any issues.

Don't Stay With Vacasa

Don't Stay! We received a message about checking in early. This was at 11:20 am. Since we were coming from Ohio, we decided to not stop and do activities we had originally planned since we could get into the room early. We arrive, lug all of our luggage to the 3rd floor and cannot get in. Long story short, Vacasa stated they sent that message to me in error and we can check in at 4. They didn't care that we now had to wait 3 hours to check in. The room was filthy! I have photos. Reaches everywhere. I understand we are in a tropical place and they would be there, but this was infested. Every room. Sink leaked and we had to have 2 Bowls under the sink, that once it needed to be poured out, also had dead Roaches floating. Hairdryer smoked and almost caught on fire. Communication with Vacasa was horrible and the feeling we received, was, too bad, sorry, you deal with the problems. I plan on posting this review anywhere I can and I will post photos on my TikTok account. Stay Somewhere Else! The location was the ONLY good thing about this stay.

Absolutely Horrible

Absolutely THE WORST customer service and ZERO response from the property manager to address concerns that we've called about 7 times in the past three days at a remote cabin in Vermont. LITERALLY THE WORST. The only reason why there's one star is so I could post this review. I WILL NEVER AGAIN rent from ANY VACASA managed property in the future and will tell every single person I know the same information.

Awful management!

We booked our first trip to Gulf Shores Alabama with this company and never have I been more disappointed in a vacation rental! Half the amenities that show open on the reservation and through their app are closed. Other amenities Vacasa didn't know where they were located at the property. Almost immediately after check in I reached out with these concerns to no avail. The standard response was basically sorry not sorry you are disappointed with the property. Even with the small issues, like a broken coffee maker, we're just brushed off or ignored completely. If it was just one thing, I wouldn't complain but, it was many. The only thing they fixed was a TV that didn't work but, I just happened to run in to maintenance and told them and that took care of it. There is no onsite office to go to to voice concerns and they stopped responding to text messages. We have talked to several renters here through Vacasa and they all have issues with their rental unit as well. If they would of offered some discount or refund a small amount of what we paid for the rental, it would be fine. They just don't seem to care. They are a company with the idea that they already have your money so they don't care about your concerns anymore. Will NEVER book with this company again and I would definitely not recommend any book from them!

Thrives!

This was the most amazing experience. We screwed up the rental. I saw a charge on my credit card for $1000's. I wasn't aware of the charges so I naturally notified the credit card company and canceled the card. Little did I know my wife made two reservations. (I know we need to communicate better but she was out of town, etc.). Of course, she had to do two new different reservations later after she realized the original reservations were canceled. They refused to refund one of our reservations. I'm out $1900. They're thieves, plain and simple. Don't deal with them. They're really terrible people. By the way, I never write reviews.

Worst Company Ever!
December 24, 2021

Booked through them for Christmas night and the following night. My son is all excited as is his friends and family. He's 9.3 hours after booking, I get a call from Vacasa, saying their was a glitch and they're refunding money bc dates not available. Mind you. I emailed them prior to booking online regarding the place. They were well aware I was booking for 25th.

After booking through Expedia for our vacation in key west Florida, we were sent confirmation emails and texts the week prior to our stay. When. We arrived in key west at 1230pm vacassa sent us a text saying " urgent message call vacasa" when we contacted them they told us our rental was not available, and that they had no other rentals to put us in. They told us the client had terminated the contract the day of our arrival. So we visited the property we where supposed to stay at 222 simonton st KW fl and found the building was being renovated. Yet they had no clue!

We spent 4 hours on the phone. First vacasa would not return calls so we called vrbo, who had also sent us confirmation emails. Suddenly vacasa called us back. The customer service was horrible. You will never speak to a manager or supervisor, just rude people. We found a place to stay that compared to our rental, but vacasa would not pay for the room, because it wasn't in their network, the only thing they offered was a 25 percent of what our original bungalo was, granted we booked 7 months ago so prices where higher booking that day.
Vacasa bought vrbo be very careful if you are a renter of a landlord having them manage your property.

Very Late Cancellation
December 21, 2021

Have just had our condo cancelled with 24 hours notice! We had booked a lovely 3 bedroom condo on the beach in Sea Pines, Hilton Head for Christmas and got an email at midnight so say that they were cancelling it due to construction! They offered replacement properties that were much inferior - less bedrooms to very dated furnishings, not oceanfront.
The first girl I talked to was less than sympathetic. Later in the day when I'd had a chance to re-evaluate our options I called again and spoke to someone else. She was at least sympathetic but had nothing better to offer.
The upside was, we were given a full credit although some of it has to come from VRBO who I had made the original booking through. Hopefully we will get it all back.
Trying to find another property 1 day before departure and 3 days before Christmas is not what I thought I would be doing.

Cancelled my vacation over the holidays. We have plane tickets. There's nothing available that will work. Do not trust vacasa. They might screw you and leave you empty handed- just like they did me.

I`m righting this review to let people know about this company. I paid my hard earned money and expected a clean cabin, this place is old and dated, holes in the sofa, bed spread was an antique and bed uncomfortable. But we thought Ok lets make the best of it and not ruin our vacation. The next morning my wife saw roaches coming from under the stove and then out of the dish washer. GROSS! I said thats enough and called Vicassa, they were friendly and professional but just wanted to comp me for the problem and send and exterminator in, I said no we have two small dogs and don`t want them tho get sick. They moved us to a much nicer cabin but also charged me another 224.00 dollars and wasted and entire day of my vacation I feel I should have been reimbursed this money and not charged more. Really rubbed me the wrong way. After being moved I found that out of 6 TV `s in the house only one worked and whom ever was there before us decided to leave all their beer and soda cans behind the hot tub and all over the ground behind the cabin. Just pissed me off to no end and i will not deal with Vicassa again

I expected Vacasa to take care of my home professionally, which is why I agreed to there outrageous charges.
When I came home, my dryer was gone. A barstool was gone. A writing table was destroyed. A wooden prayer in a shadow box was gone. 3 Room heaters were gone. A Dremel kit... gone. All bathroom accessories were gone. All trash bins (all pricey to match decor) were gone. Expensive Shark iron, gone.
They let me walk in and never even KNEW these things were missing.
This means, when a renter takes your table, they don't get charged, Vacasa lets them have it like a FREE gift.
Every time I asked for a replacement, they would argue that wear and tear was the culprit, even though the appliances were NEW and I was gone 2 years.
When the did replace the items it was with CHEAP PLASTIC. NOT EVEN MATCHING. As if throwing a cheap plastic brown trash bin would suffice for my wooden espresso trash bin that was part of a set!
There are not enough words to describe these thieves.
Stay away and never trust them with your home.

Never, ever, ever rent from Vacasa. You will have issues, they will ignore you, or we'll be frustrating. It's a fraud of a company. Stick with Airbnb or venom; I wish I had.
