JUST A RIP OFF
August 26, 2019

I booked a ticket yesterday after searching couple of times on Trip.com at 6pm, thinking I should book it before the prices goes up and the ticket costed me $840. I checked again this morning after nearly 12 hours just out of curiosity and too my surprise the same ticket is for $646 now. Try to contact them and they said can't do anything. Pathetic customer service and supervisor won't even talk to you, highly not recommended.

Do not book with them. If anything happens and you need to modify your booking they will not help you. They have canceled people's bookings at the last minute as well. This company is all about the money. Once they have your payment they are done with you. DO NOT Book with them. Read the reviews and I'm speaking from experience. My family member was hospitalized and they basically said oh well. I was not allowed to modify my travel date. This is a ruthless company. Please avoid!

I booked two hotels via trip.com in the usa. I received confirmation from trip.com that hotels are booked and that I do not need to do anything else. In confirmations my name was correct, dates correct and there were hotel booking numbers. Thank God I called the hotels directly. I called in 3 days after the booking date. One of the hotels had my reservation and the other one did not have it at all. I could end up near grand canyon on Saturday without reservation in a high season when everything absolutely everything is booked... If you book via this website I recommend to take refundable reservation and call the hotel directly after you book. When I called trip.com they placed me on hold for one hour... Could not get any answer from them and canceled my reservation. I will never use this website again... Money saved does not worth the trouble. To bad they are still in business. I wish I read reviews before booking...

Poor service
August 20, 2019

This website is very terrible. I followed all steps on trip.com to book airticket but I don't know why they issue airticket, my name is wrong and I ask them to amend my name. They just informed that they cannot amend my name and they didn't refund for my invalid ticket because of their mistake
I never book again
Good bye Trip.com

Do not book anything with trip.com. Your complete booking would be wrong and instead of fixing there errors they rather charge u a fee. So I did more research and this is what they do mess up your booking so they can charge you that extra fee. I'm so happy that the actual airline help and resolve my problems because if u leave it up to TRIP.COM they will leave u stranded. I'am still waiting to see if they are actually doing an investigation because if they did they would have inform me that it was taking care of but being that they didn't show me they just rather take people hard earn money please do not book with them.

Great Experience
August 11, 2019

With all the negative reviews, it's also important to speak up when your experience is good. I was nervous when I booked, but got a confirmation email from Trip.com after I booked, stating that I'd receive a separate email from the hotel once they confirmed. I received that email 10-20 mins later.

One week prior to my trip, I received a separate email from Trip.com with the hotel provided confirmation number, and was told to just give that number at the front desk and I'd be all set.

I got to the hotel and was checked in with no problems and had a wonderful time, at a huge fraction of the cost - thanks Trip.com!

My husband canceled his plane ticket within 24 hours of booking (2 hours after booking to be exact). The airline we booked through and the US Department of Transportation mentions that we should get a full refund under these circumstances. Trip.com sent us a confirmation email and they said we should be expecting our refund within 14 days.
14 days later, they give us an $18 refund on a $250 ticket.
They won't give us our money back because it is an airline policy' although I called The airline to discuss this same topic. The airline promises full money back within 24 hours of booking, which happened on our end. Trip.com is trying to rob us of our money.
I'll keep trying to get my money back, but after hours on the phone with trip.com, we have had no luck and are very frustrated.
Update: after countless hours on the phone with representatives, we got nowhere. They will refuse to give us our money back. They said that it's an airline policy, and when I asked for proof about that policy, they said they couldn't give it to me.' I will never recommend trip.com to anyone. Don't waste your time with this third party.

Avoid
July 24, 2019

I would avoid trip.com at all costs. They failed to deliver on services we booked with them and still haven't refunded the month a month later. There is a non existent costumer care team and they don't care if they have your money will be no help what so ever if something goes wrong. Mine was a delayed flight and because we hadn't turned up within 3 hours our bookings were cancelled even though we were sitting on an airport runway waiting to depart.

Terrible service
July 11, 2019

Do not book with them. They can't speak English and will misspell your name and will not take any responsibility. It happened to me. Terrible service. Phone numbers are invalid. Managers don't have email addresses. You will ruin you holiday if you book with them. Read the reviews first.

I want to warn everyone not to book with trip.com
They offer lower prices, and when you book, just before your flight, they will cancel booking and ruin your schedule. And they give you a missed call and immediately write you an email saying that they called you to explain everything but you didn't pick up, so your booking is canceled. I have checked many websites, and the reviews are the same, saying they are illegitimate.

Cheap and reliable
March 21, 2019

Trip.com previously had a very bad reputation when it was being handled in California. Since being acquire by China (Ctrip), i have booked several times and was very happy with Trip.com, not to mention the prices are cheaper!

I booked a trip to Mexico and mistakingly put in the wrong date. I contacted Amber the next morning and they told me I was beat. The reservation that I made has still not happened and they had a chance to easily change it, instead they took my money And stood by their one way policy.

Buyer Beware!
October 15, 2018

This is a company based out of China. If you book hotels or anything through them and you can no longer use the services they will keep ALL of your money! No cancellation fees just keep ALL of your money. I paid for a $200 hotel stay for 2 days and was hospitalized so I called the hotel to cancel and they wanted to cancel the reservations immediately but I went through trip.com. They refunded my money back to trip.com and after sending in all verification asked by trip.com they still kept ALL of my money and said the hotel never refunded them. The Hilton Hotel said they refunded trip.com immediately. It's been a month and they still refuse to refund me any of my money. Stay far away from this company! Buyer Beware!

Booked a flight on their, they never emailed me and on the site it showed it as cancelled. I booked another flight for the same dates/dest thinking the first one was cancelled. They charged me for both, and claimed the first time I booked it it wasn't cancelled. So now I have two sets of flights for the same dates... wasted hundreds of dollars. Refused to amend the situation.

DO NOT BOOK WITH CTRIP
December 20, 2017

They mispelled my name on purpose and tried to charge us with unreasonable fees and told us to just cancel the booking which is a 95% loss!
Bought theticket for $450 and said they could refund just about $88.
THEY WILL STEAL MONEY OFF YOU AND WILL NOT HELP YOU EVEN YOU CALL A MONTH, A WEEK, A DAY OR AN HOUR BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT. SOON AS THEY CONFIRMED YOUR BOOKING THROUGH EMAIL THEY WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE NOR HELPFUL FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. THEY WILL PRETENT TO DO SOMETHING BUT WILL LEAVE YOU ON HOLD WHILE THEY SIT THEIR ARSES WHILE THEY STEAL MONEY AND LAUGH ON HOW EASY THEY ARE GETTING MONEY OFF YOUR POCKET.
DO NOT BOOK!

I'm writing this as my flight is leaving me just because of ONE LETTER mispelling.

CTRIP SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED!

Bad customer service
November 22, 2017

Booked a hotel online last week on Ctrip. Found out that we had mixed up the check in dates by mistake. There was alot of going back and forth between us, Ctrip and the Hotel that we were booking - Regal Airport Hotel Hong Kong. This is my first time dealing with Ctrip, and safe to say will be my last time dealing with Ctrip and Regal Aiport Hotel. Ctrip's customer service is bad, they do not seek alternative but instead insist that nothing can be done and request that we reach out to Regal Airport Hotel. Regal Airport Hotel insisted that we can only change our booking via Ctrip. I have dealt with Agoda and Expedia prior and have never experienced such bad and unhelpful customer service. PLEASE NEVER BOOK VIA CTRIP. (Spoke to Michelle and Ziki from Ctrip via the phone, and Win and Karen from Regal Airport Hotel).

Our flight to Beijing from Shanghai was cancelled, Ctrip informed us less than 24hours before the flight was due. I'm currently trying to get a compensation fee for the hotel and train ticket we had to book last minute due to this (we needed to be in Beijing to fly back home to Australia!) and had to contact a family member back home to do so (Coincidentally the Ctrip website AND mobile app weren't accessible at that time). Here is an email that they sent me when I asked them to assist with contacting the chinese airlines (Juneyao) to organise the compensation: Regarding your flight reservation from Shanghai-Beijing(Order No. *******299) we regret to inform you that we are unable to apply the compensation, please let your Chinese friend to apply for it, We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Side note, they refunded me for a tour that was cancelled. All they did was contact the supplier and I received the funds straight away. And now, for a flight, they're asking me to get a Chinese friend to help... I have never been so stressed in my entire life. Literally.
