TopResume

It's been awhile since I've graduated college so finding the time and figuring out how to update my outdated resume I needed a little guidance. I had several employees that were in college and several applicants that applied to work where I managed. Each resume looked different and changed constantly. Not knowing what the professional protocol now was for a resume had me stressed out. I didn't want to look incompetent or unprofessional. I say an ad for TopResume on the internet and figured i'd try it out after applying to several jobs and having no luck. As soon as I received my resume I landed a job right away!

TopResume is a very helpful service if you are trying to improve your resume. Even if you don't purchase any services from them, they will still do a free resume critique. They scrutinize it in the same manner that most companies would, and then show you exactly where your resume could use improvement (they even go so far as to tell you what kind of improvement that would entail), and where your resume is strong and not needing any modifications. Personally, I've always had trouble with my resumes, and I find this service to be invaluable. Thank you very much for all your help Laura!

This is the worst experience I have ever had.

1. The writer absolutely has no experience in the industry I was applying for. Unprofessional words and expressions are all over the page.
2. A 7-day delay of the first draft without telling me the reason and without an apology.
3. Refused to refund and ask me to transfer my credit to friends or family. Seriously? Why would I do this if I don't trust your service?
4. Change contact person every time I contact them regarding the problem.
5. Only gave me 7 days to review the draft while they needed 14 days to write the draft (including the 7-day delay).
6. First draft presented had many mistakes that even I can easily identify. E. g repeating the same points. I don't know how many more mistakes the employers can find out.

Guys if you wanna get a perfect resume don't every use this TopResume. They will provide you nothing more than few pages of meaningless words.

I was laid off after being with a software company for 10 years. I also had 5 years software management experience from the employer prior to that. I have a very Technical background but did not know how to highlight my skill set while focusing on business analytics. Top Resume did that for me! They were fast responding and patient. Within one day after refreshing my resume on Dice, I was receiving phone calls for interviews. I recommend their service for anyone entering the job market.

Highway robbery of people in a desperate situation. I provided a very full resume that I wanted to get reworked by "professionals". My first draft (you only get 3 chances for them to get it right) was filled with inaccuracies and false information. All of my actual job information was inaccurate. There was also extensive work and education history that was never provided and outright false included. Upon bringing this to their attention I was asked what I thought needed to be done to it. Excuse me, you're the "professionals". I'm the one asking for help. Why in the world would you ask me? After some online research I made a simpler resume on my own and my job search has gone better. TopResume is a scam. Professional criminals maybe, but certainly not resume writers. A request for a refund was quickly denied. Stay away.

It was great to have TopResume assist me with my resume, cover letters and Linked-In presence. They were able to take an impartial view of my
Resume that I have reworked several times and with the assistance of other resume writers. I am an older worker so there are a lot of years to cover and need to "speak" in a way that folks would respond to. I have had some "bites" and have been asked to serve on a board. Networking, such as Linked-In can get you connected with other professionals. I know it can be frustrating to look for work, but I do feel I have put my best foot forward even at the ancient age of 63. We live in a college town so am realistic about the job search. Never the less I feel TopResume helped considerably.

I had a timely and professional experience from start to finish with TopResume. There was plenty of communication, set expectations and a quality product delivered as promised. I was looking for a more engaging format and my writer really came through for me on that! I did have plenty of feedback to provide with some minor corrections and change requests but they were well received and taken into consideration. I would easily recommend TopResume to others and I may use them again for other needs in the future!

Top Resume nicely crafted my resume and cover letter. This was the first time I've paid for this service-after reading their initial critique of my resume I opted to purchase a package. The reworked version was neater, cleaner, and used stronger language, and the cover letter was extremely well written. I did get an interview the first week after using the new versions. My only hesitation is that their turnaround times are very fast before they close a case-be prepared to set aside time when you sign up to avoid any issues.

I used their service as I had not updated my resume in about 8 years and I'd never had it reviewed by a professional. Sign up was easy and due to a discount, I chose the package with letters and a LinkedIn review. The return service was regularly prompt. I think they may have focused a bit too much on general finance and less on some of my lending background. But over all they did a great job enhancing my profile. And have the letter templates is an added comfort as well.

They did a good job rewriting my resume; it saved me a significant amount of time and appears to read more professional. However, don't expect them to know about your specific industry. You'll have to go back and make edits that are specific to your field.

Also, don't bother to pay to be signed up for the multiple job sites. It's non-stop spam and the lack of relevant job searches is laughable (ex: 'Funeral Director'. Really?)

Though I had a very good resume that got myself in many doors TopResume really polished the appearance of the presentation. I was very impressed with the difference in results once I submitted the new resume. The positions I was getting interviews for where at least 20% higher in salary, and much more appropriate for my skill level. I also was able to weed out the positions that were not to the level I was seeking but on paper may have been, through HR managers seeing the true depth of my experience. Often it resulted in them wishing to submit me for upcoming director or executive roles.

I would not hesitate using TopResume again or Recommending them regardless of your current resume.

I ordered the most expensive resume package that is "guaranteed" to produce results and done by the "top 10% of our network". I went through 3 different resume writers, each process taking a week or two, and every single result was significantly worse than the original resume I provided them to begin with. After 3 failed results I asked for my money back and they refused. This service is basically a scam. They take your money, produce terrible crap, then refuse to give your money back when you aren't happy.

First version of a revised resume they sent was barely English. After I complained they set me up with a writer to make a new version. While it was much better it has resulted in no interviews and they have not responded to my emails or feedback.
