Sent a brand new with tags LeVian ring. They CUT THE TAG OFF! WHY? New bags have tags, new clothes have tags. They had NO right and NO reason to do that. I am LIVID!
I sent a NEVER used pristine Gucci ladylock bag in. I asked five times for an indicator. They told me AFTER it was on the site I would see the price. Um, no, you will tell me the price RANGE now or zip want my bag back. I'm supposed to find out the price when it's live so somebody can buy it and I'm just sol if I don't like the price. Shady shady shady! It took three weeks and the BBB getting involved to get my bag returned.
They returned it with the crossbody strap attached, shoved in the dust bag and tied the straps in a double knot.
I sent the strap (which contains the keys) on a separate pouch so it couldn't get band or scratch the unscratched hardware.
I am so SO angry! Now I have a ring that's brand new with a cut off tag, so where's the proof it's brand new. They just dropped the value of a brand new item!
Imagine all the bs the people are going through when people buy their stuff. They need to be closed down. They're a disgusting business.
I ordered Hermes Kelly 32. I received a Hermes Kelly 35. I had to jump through hoops, and waste hours on the phone in order to get a refund.
After informing The Real Real that I as sent the wrong size back, and having to submit measurements of the bag here is what the customer service response was: " I completely understand your anxiety. If I were in your place, I'd be filled with uncertainties and concerns.".
This is not acceptable service. Shame on you Real Real!
Stay away from ordering from a company that clearly doesn't care about their customer and only cares about selling merchandise that they can't even list correctly on their website.
Many of high-valued designer clothes such as Casey Casey, Daniela Gregis, Sofie D'Hoore, etc. were listed at 5% of the value and when I requested repricing, the items were already sold and I received a commission of 1%. If you can sell it any other way, do it.
RealReal mishandled my Louis Vuitton travel piece, priced it way below market value & when I requested return, parts came back missing. RR wants to pay me the low price (I did not agree to price) after they take out 40% commission! They LOST the item Real Real did NOT SELL the item. Why take a hefty commission? Customer Service ignores emails for weeks at a time! Horrible company!
If you are thinking of purchasing something with The Real Real, please reconsider. I purchased an item and was told over a week later (after many phone calls and emails) that the item I paid for was being sent to somebody else.
No updated and I am still waiting on a refund. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay away from this poor excuse of a website.
I sold a pair of brand new leather booties. When I purchased they were final sale so couldn't return them. Purchase price was close to $100. I tried them on twice and decided they were too narrow. I had sold items on the site previously and decided to use it again. By the time the price was reduced and fees were deducted I got an.80 check in the mail. I should have found someone to give the booties to for free. I will NEVER use this site again.
We placed an order, which was cancelled by them but they still took the payment and are refusing to refund it. Awful company with appalling customer service. Avoid at ALL COSTS.
It's a scam business when you want to sell with them, don't ever do that. They take your item out of your hand for peanuts. At first they give you an acceptable price but this price is not what they put on their site but much less. Then they give discount 20% and sell it for 10% of what they agreed with you. A Christian Dior bag that they estimated at $1600, sold it at $252 😒 unbelievable. Such a company should not be dealt with as they are crooks, don't buy or sell with them.
Love the shirts! Good price, good quality, nice fit,...Please make a military shirt depicting the 82nd Abn. Div. Paratroopers in action jumping out of planes with Thompson machine guns,...More sexy Hula Girl shirts Great designs are endless. Love your company!
Guys dont give your item to them they will first tell you they will sell your item for 300-400$ and once they sell it they will give you 100bucks one month later. Thats what they did to my prada brand new shoe goes for minimum 300 they sold it and they were giving me 100 and i told them keep the money i learn something today.
Horribly useless customer service! No help, no knowledge! Very bad shipping! Can't find my package, can't explain where it is and when I can get my purchase. Two days I try to figured what is going on with my package. Waist of time! Unprofessional people!
After speaking to The RealReal's (TRR) customer service confirming that the item was in good condition with only some moderate discolouration, I bought a Helmut Lang jacket. Today the jacket arrived with a massive TEAR in the side with stains through out and a fake Helmut Lang store tag. Frustration, after confirming it was in good condition! TRR only offering a refund for the item, not tax or postage. To top it off, also refusing to send me a return label. Costing me $90 for postage both ways... for a mistake their customer services have made.
I am both a purchaser and consignor. I have had ups and downs with the Real Real from the time they began. They have really gone downhill! I ordered some items to wear to a conference coming up. I only search for small or XS (I am a 4/6 typically). Well, the items arrived today, all balled up in a bag and left out in the rain. The jacket I really needed was a size 22! Can you imagine? It's tremendous and when I called the real real they said it was not returnable because it was on sale. I reminded them that it was falsely advertised. They didnt know what to say but would contact me again. The next item was a lafayette sweater advertised and new with tags and "excellent" condition. Well, it had tags on it, but was worn out with pulls and holes in it. Unwearable unless I wanted to lounge around the house. Not acceptable. I have given them pristine items to sell from their accepted list only to have them rejected, yet they are selling wrinkled, torn, and pilled items? The jacket (the one that is a size 22) is not wearable. I am so frustrated! Back to the competitors...not sure if I can say them on this site or not, but there are other luxury brand seller out there that do the right thing!
My experience shopping with TRR was awful and I will never shop with them again.
I purchased a name brand tote bag and was sold a cheap, easy-to-tell, knock off. The quality of the bag is so bad I am honestly not sure how this passed the "authentication process".
When I reached out to TRR, every customer service representative I talked to was condescending and rude. I was told my bag was 100% real and that the authentication process was too rigorous to have a fake pass through.
I was also told that because I bought a thrifted bag and the condition was good not perfect, that's why the bag felt fake.
TRR is not offering any refund or remedy for this situation.
I ordered a phone case and i receive a call from postal service saying if it has to be delivered to my door step, there will be additional charge of 32aed, this was never mentioned while purchasing and when i mailer their customer service, they were like whatever your country of residence charges is not their responsibility it seems and if order is not collected, money wont be refunded. What sort of service is this? I work for an ecom too. Really poor service. Please do not buy from them!
I've been selling high designer bags on the TRR. The way they price bags is sooo inconsistent! They are either prices super high, or super low. They don't stick to the middle! The prices are all
Over the place. Anywhere I look at other sites, usually bags like Chanel stay consistent with pricing!
VIP consigner! Sold many designer items with TRR. Was all good until all the sudden "I have too many requests for my consgiments, such as price adjustment". I guess it's against their policy to ask customer service for modification. It was all okay for years until they decided they are just done with me. Blocked me completely, while still having my consignments. I couldn't chat them or email them. Received an email that I "contact them excessively" and if I don't stop they will close my account. I responded to that email with respect defending myself. They really accused me unfairly and just closed my account without hearing me out. They said I didn't follow their terms and conditions, but Instill don't know where exactly I violated their terms. When I ask no response! Just blocked.
They want your items, until you do something little they don't like they just block you!
They sold my new designer piece for a 4th of the price, over 1k paid for and I got 250 when dust settled. I can give my own clothes away. Would have better luck local consignment shop giving them half or Poshmark I never lose more then 200. Unless you like crying don't do it……who authorized them to give away others clothes. Fool me once —-shame on me, fool me twice, won't get fooled again…..
I've feel lied to and cheated - talk about bait-and-switch between the come-on and the received results! This company's lack of ethics clearly shows they're trying to avoid bankruptcy, screwing their "customers" out of everything they can get before they go under. Don't front them ANYTHING and leave the chance they'll owe you! I sent an original-price $150 shirt NWT for them to sell, in return they sent me $4.40. After charging me $10 to send that in a check (I was given no choice on, I'd prefer electronic payment - no cost to receive my money faster - so here they play the float on mail time for all of their checks, AND charge the customer a hidden $10 fee?!). Meanwhile, I'd never have sold the shirt through them if I had ANY idea I'd receive so little - their website shows they sold my item for $72. They sent me $4. You do the math. I might as well have gone through Goodwill. AND their customer service is heavily-accented Indian, who plead helplessness to resolve.
Tells me they can't find my order When I have more than $4000 missing from my bank account! I will NEVER shop from this site again they are a scam!
My mother died and had many high end items. My sister and I called TRR and talked pretty extensively with someone who later stopped responding no matter how many times I tried to reach her. Finally I was put in touch with someone responsive and we ended up sending in 76 items over a year ago. Some did well and some didn't but the ANNOYING thing is that 4 or 5 items are listed as pending and no amount of calling or emailing has resolved this. If they are unsuitable, send them back! I can't get any answers. Would not deal with them again!
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: customerservice@therealreal.com.
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
