The holes don't line up with any binders and the lady on the phone was dumb. "Well maybe you need a specific binder... let me check. 5 minutes later nope you don't so idk why it doesn't fit"... waste of money do not use them
I read many negative reviews about this site, but most were about Ebooks and I felt as though I would try my shot with a regular textbook as it was $30-40 cheaper than anywhere else on the internet. The book came in a few days which was faster than anywhere else said theirs would and it came just as described. I will be buying from them again and watch the reviews. I can't attest for ebooks, but their textbooks come quickly and they are cheap.
I'm an instructor and some of my students ordered from this lousy business. Their ebooks had several missing chapters. They didn't get any help or consideration from this lousy company and had to buy new copies somewhere else. Don't do business with them.
First off, the fact that they do not publish a phone number that you can call for customer service should have clued me in that they do not provide customer service. I ordered an eBook that their website claimed could be printed. Sadly, I needed to be able to print the book and could not. I searched for a customer service number and could not find one. I even called the registered agent for this company located in Delaware, but they said they could not disclose their client's phone number. I've sent multiple emails, and it's been over a week with no response. Ughhh!
As a college student who has ordered materials from virtually everywhere, I am quite confident in claiming that Textbooks.com has the worst products and services in the textbook market They misrepresent what they are selling to make more sales. Their customer service is horrid, and their representatives are arrogant and have zero skill, nor a care for their job whatsoever. I have lost lots of money to this website sheerly because the employees have no clue what they're doing. Listen to all the terrible reviews, and don't make the same mistake that I did thinking your order will be the one order that they won't screw up.
My order number is # ******* if anyone can help me. I payed 20 for a book I needed for class, and every time I try to access it, it says I need to allow access to cookies lol. I also had to click Do not sell or share my personal information. I didn't even realize it was on. Such a scam.
Product was for 30 day rental, which is dumb for a textbook rental. But I suppose that was my mistake for not checking closely enough. Called about it and they said "oh well, sucks to suck" basically. Did not care at all. Will not buy from them ever again.
Sent an email about it and their reply was equally careless, which surprises me that they wouldn't care about repeat customers, AND they misspelled my name when it was right in front of them.
Do NOT use this site.
Received the entirely wrong item and was then told they don't have the right one ti fulfill my order. To get a refund they need to receive the wrong item back which means I need to go to get it shipped and then wait for them to receive it before I get MY money back. Don't even think about spending money with this shady outfit.
Purchased the 2nd Edition of Into to Criminal Justice Practice and Process by Peak and Everett for daughter's college class. Upon getting the book we find out on the 2nd page of the 1sr chapter that book includes 1 yr free of ebook, practice tests and a whole lot more. Access code was to be printed on inside cover. No such access code could be located. Pretty aggravating. Not sure if it was stolen but the publisher is looking into it!
I thought I was purchasing the book, from these people. Instead what I received was a two page pamphlet. Inside was instructions on how to download a book, and it is only good for a semester. Couldn't use it. I needed a "Book". I thought it would be easy to get my money back. Right.? No. Only a third of it. Never activated it. They haven't lost a dime on it, but they kept my money. A broke Pysics Major. Never ever ever do business with these people. I had to swallow the 140 loss, and spend another 210.00 on a real book elsewhere
Would give 0 stars if I could. I sold 3 textbooks back to this site, 2 were literally brand new. One of the books I sold back to them was an anatomy atlas because I realized I didn't need it for my class but already took the plastic off so I couldn't get a refund from the bookstore. Textbooks.com received the book and said it wasn't accepted because it was damaged. I called to find out why this was because I literally bought the book 2 weeks ago before this. They said the code on the inside of the cover was scratched off. I know for a fact it wasn't because I never even opened the book to use and bought it brand new. I wish I would've taken a picture so I had proof. I paid $8.95 to have the book shipped back to me so that I could maybe sell to another student. Sure enough the code is scratched off now and it will probably be useless. I will NEVER use this site again and don't recommend it to anyone.
I bought an Ebook that I found by searching the ISBN. The title, picture, and everything else matched up with the Ebook I needed. Once purchased, I was provided with something completely different. The ISBN, title, and cover picture weren't the same as what was on the purchase screen. Don't trust this site for Ebooks.
Because of the covid-19, I ordered my book well before my class started and continuously messaged the website and got nothing back. Finally, when they did email me back, it was disappointing and rude. I wasn't expecting anything fancy but I did expect them to put my mind at ease and let me know when I would be receiving the book. They said the minimalist that they could and only left me with more questions. When I placed my order, the site didn't tell me the book was on backorder. If I was told so, I wouldn't have been as mad on not receiving it when expected. I haven't been able to complete assignments and am not getting the grade I would be getting if I had the book. If they would've been nice and understanding over email, then I would not be writing this review.
Thi site is AWFUL. Won't work with you at all if you've purchased the wrong textbook. Make you just eat your money! Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Help college students out! We're not made of money!
Just an update. I was able to receive my refund within l-3 business days after returning empty box sent to me. But make sure you verify product being ordered. If price is a little low, you may want to go to another supplier, or verify first.
I purchased a "used" book. When I received it the cover was torn. They exchanged it and the replacement copy was worse than the original! This cover is loose & also torn. I feel lied to since they claim books are "good" or "excellent" condition. I've demanded my money back. I was able to purchase a NEW (still in shrink wrap) copy on half.com for about the same cost.
I didn't expect a perfect copy. I expected used. However, I didn't expect one that looked like it had been through a war zone and is almost falling apart in the middle.
Ordered a book that was in stock on Thursday from textbooks.com. They waited until Monday to cancel the order, presumably because it was out of stock. There was no explanation. One star for the quick refund, I guess?
I ordered a book through Textbooks.com com which has not been sent to me. Their website claims that the order is complete. I contacted their customer service and got an email indicating that although I purchased the book through them the order is completed by Hippo books and I should contact them now. There was no effort made to find out the status of the book. If companies are to sell other companies products then they should make it very clear to their customers to exactly what is going on at the point of purchase. This is unsatisfactory and unacceptable practice.
This company is a scam. Their website clearly says that they accept textbooks with exposed code (though not for a full credit). And they obviously sell the used textbooks with the exposed codes (again written on their website). However, when I sent my expensive textbook to them them marked it "damaged" and said that the reason is because the code was exposed. And offered me to pay 10$ to ship it back. Basically they stole the book. I'm pretty sure they are not going to recycle it but will rent it out or sell as the used version (given that the new one costs $250, the used one of this edition will cost at least $100). Never ever repeat my mistake and try to sell your textbooks through this scam company.
They will lead you to believe all the books they advertise as available are ready to be purchased. Not true. Bought a book only to have them tell me two days later it was not available. They did refund my money but I was left scrambling to buy from another vendor as class was beginning soon. Suggest you stay away from this company.
Answer: NO... They are selling counterfeit books on their site and when you ask for a refund you get no response whatsoever. Stay away from this company as it is a clear scam on college students wanting to save money on textbooks.
