I purchase my textbook for an on-line class. Paid extra for a rush on the book... Waited 2 1/2 weeks.
The post office told me that I didn't have a rush on my order... Matter of fact... this was the slowest way to mail a book! What?!
"Sold" my book to them after gently using for one year as new. I was denied because the access was used and they "couldn't resell it to another student", and wanted $6.25 to return it to me. Book originally cost over $100, and I'm sure they'll just resell it anyway. What a joke.
I purchased an access code to an online book just to find out after opening the package that the book was not still not accessible to me. I wasted $90 on this product that Textbooks.com refuses to reimburse me for. I will not be shopping here again, and I advise other students not to as well.
I ordered a two volume set books from this website but I received only volume one. The title was the "complete works", without specifying the volume. So I assumed there should be two volumes. I checked the ISBN and it was the same as the two volume set's ISBN. Also they didn't mention anywhere (in their description or the title) that it is only volume one.
I should also mention that the price for this volume one was higher than a new one (same publication, same edition, etc.).
Strange thing is that I don't have any access to that page anymore!
They have a return policy that you can return the book within 30 days of purchase, and I received the book 21 days after purchase, so I had only 9 days to return it. So I had to pay more for shipping.
It's been more than a week that they have received the book back and I haven't got any confirmation or refunds. They don't even reply my email (both seller and textbooks.com).
Also there is no way for customers to rate the sellers.
While they had the text book I needed, they lacked the efficiency in ordering and when I paid for UPS OVERNIGHT I am still receiving my MANDATORY textbook next week instead of tomorrow or Saturday. Also, when we had issues with our card, they declined the order and even when I went to reorder they were not clear in the slightest and did not reorder the book that I absolutely needed. They are extremely unclear and make it very difficult to order and reorder and it is completely unnecessary. I am very upset and I will not be ordering here again.
They sold me an ebook missing 5 chapters out of the book! And when I tried to return it, they refused to refund me, saying that there is no guaranteed return! Yet they sold me faulty merchandise. Bulls***!
"I ordered a book in textbooks.com. But the damn seller said he sold out the book and cancelled the order. However, I still saw his item in stock even after being informed the order was cancelled. That meant I still could order again. I wanted to give the damn seller negative rating but I could find nowhere to leave the feedback. So I don't understand how the seller got their rating in textbooks.com. Very strange. I won't use this website again because it's very unfriendly and unfair to the buyer."
I am returning to college after a number of years in the workforce and I was sure there were plenty of resources out there since I last attended college. I thought textbooks.com would be one of them and I noticed they had offered a textbook as an ebook, which I have become fond of while reading on my ipad during my commutes. I attempted to download the book and received an error and after making sure my programs were up to date and still couldn't make any progress I decided to contact customer support. I did receive an email within 5 hours, which was nice, however they informed me that I needed to use outdated browser editions to be able to download the textbook. When I called in to receive additional support I was put on hold for 10 minutes and then received a generic voicemail letting me know that there are no techs to help and I could leave a message and they may get back to me. I was very disappointed with this experience and am hopeful to at least get my refund quickly.
I ordered a book from them, it was described like "very good" condition... When it came it was dirty, a lot of hand writing... what kind of condition is that? I returned it and have to pay $16.25 for post... Never buy from them again...
Sold 6 of my books online to them. Got a quote price of about $30, which was fine, as no other site was giving my that much money. Sent them the books and they email me back saying they can not accept 5 of the 6 books due to water damage. However, there was NO water damage on any of the books. The asked me to make a payment of $15 for shipping to get the books back. It seems like a scam to me, so I'll just be taking the $9 they decided to give me for one of my books they actually "accepted".
If you buy book from here, you will lose your money. They show one edition and one color but sell others. Be careful, this is very very bad for your. If you return, they will not refund your shipping cost.
Textbooks.com is fraud for student.
Technically, they lure you to send textbooks to them for free, email you couple days later that they won't take those books. BUT, if you need the books back, you have to pay for return label or they will steal your books and sell them.
The expiration of the ebook is not shown at all on the website that I could find and the expiration info is not shown prominently on the website when you are renting the book. I called to see if they could give me access to do one download of it since I was not aware of the expiration period so I could us the book on my final exam in two days and the refused. I would highly not recommend renting from them!
I bought Exploring Anatomy and Phys. In Lab. E-book. I didn't read the review before buying it otherwise I wouldn't buy from them. As soon as I realized that this e-book doesn't do anything good to me I wanted to return it. I thought as an unemployed person I could use that money for something else. I told the woman look, this is e-book; I didn't do any damage on it I want to return it. Then she said their policy is to return before fifteen days. I told her I was out of country then. Now I am back. She didn't let me return it. They want other people's money. It is not going to harm them if they return my money back. I told her I will not buy from them anymore; not only myself but my family, my friends, and whoever I know also. Dear readers, there are other websites we can buy e-books. Leave these people alone. Their business is NOT going to last longer. I don't want to give them even one star.
A store that will sell a pair of spectacles to a blind person without blinking an eye. I had the displeasure of buying a Canon printer at the Sarrit Centre location in Nairobi ONLY to be SIMPLY told a month later that the cartridges were not available at the store anymore and I should look elsewhere. In the same store, I wanted to buy a shredder, and the Manager Mr Moses offered to sell me with a laugh, the floor model that had been damaged. Customer service at this store is simply deplorable. The store is overstaffed, who are too busy caring for their nails, picking their teeth with a toothpick or listening to their favourite music on computors on display while you look around completely unattended. All I can say to this store is a BIG BYE BYE!
I was desperate for a book for my daughter for a college class. I ordered it yesterday and it came TODAY! Customer service was perfect and the book was in mint condition. Thank you thank you
I order a book for a finance class and they charged me for shipping. When it go here, there was a big textbook size box with no textbook inside just the access code, but the website never made it clear that i wasn't getting a textbook because it gave the option of new and use. You cant use a used access code. To top it all off, they are closed weekends and the sent me the wrong access code to the wrong book even though the title picture author and edition was all the same. Thankfully McGraw Hill was able to rectify the situation.
Awful! On website the description was "Used Textbook" when I received the book it was just a stack of three ring punches pages of the book. Called the company. They replied Its a "loose Leaf Used Text Book". Never before purchase was I told I was purchasing a Loose Leaf Stack of paper!
Basically they get you to send them books saying they will pay you a certain amount and when they get them they say they aren't worth anything and want money for you to get them back. I reported them to the State Attorney Generals office for Fraud.
Essentially, they steal your books.
I ordered a brand new textbook in which i need an access code for my class. I would expect that thw access code to come with the textbook and it didnt. So i than found a better deal from amazon book with access code brand new and got it in 1 day for less while this site took almost a week. Its a ripoff. And to top it off i got charged more on state tax also. Original price 221 than went to 256 at the end. Rip off. Dont order from here. Period.
Answer: NO... They are selling counterfeit books on their site and when you ask for a refund you get no response whatsoever. Stay away from this company as it is a clear scam on college students wanting to save money on textbooks.
