TeamViewer automatically renewed our subscription for the following year AND doubled what we had been paying. I cancelled our subscription (& removed the software) but they still insist that I need to pay them for the full year amount!
I am now getting letters from a collection agency.
I WILL NOT PAY TEAMVIEWER
Splashtop is a very good alternative to TV and costs $100/year - vs TV exorbitant cost
If you call for an estimate, they will give you an invoice and threaten to have your company go into collections. DO NOT GET INVOLVED. They have sneaky and impractical business practices. They can bite me. AND NOBODY WILL CALL YOU BACK. I'm making a report with the Better Business Bureau.
I used the free version of Team Viewer but ultimately needed to purchase the paid version. Happened to be out of town, and my account was flagged as "commercial". So, being between the proverbial "rock and a hard place", I purchased an annual license. Coming to the end of the year, I found another program that met my needs for 10% of the price. But found out that Team Viewer had "automatically" charged me for a second year. When I contacted them, the emailed back that I had failed to cancel a month before the contract ended, and so was out the money.:>( "Read the fine print", they said! So... I would say that Team Viewer is a good program, but has more features than I need, and costs more than I can afford. Getting in touch with them by phone is unreasonably difficult if not well nigh impossible. SO WATCH OUT!
If someone from Team Viewer would happen to read this, my name is Jim Siegrist. And I will be very glad to add to this review that you do offer refunds in situations such as mine, if you would offer to refund.
This product crashes all the time, and I tried to cancel now for two years, customer support needs to be fired all of them. Please don't buy this product, worse customer and product exp's in 30 yrs
I had to use this program for an urgent need and I was not impressed at all with how it worked out. Unfortunately I will not be able to use this program unless they sort out their dealings.
Have used this software periodically. Mainly when I am out of town to connect to my home computer. Yes I am using as a free customer. The amount of usage I have with the product does not warrant me purchasing a yearly plan. I only use it for personal use only. After I installed a new version of the program something went wrong. I am getting a "Trial Period Expired" message. I did call these people. The person on the phone was a bit short and rude with me because I wasn't a paying customer. I filled out a request online to have the problem fixed. It's now been 4 days and have yet to get any response. I am now filling out a request daily to have this fixed.
Since this, I made it my daily job to find another option. For those of you who are also in need try Anydesk. They also have a free version. Anydesk is simple to use and install. It also has a manual in pdf format you can download that explains everything you need to know about the application.
I'm getting tired of these software companies who, even if you purchase their product, give sorry support or even no support at all. Most only allow you to email them with your problem and then take 2+ days or more to get back to you. Pathetic.
TeamViewer requires very expensive fees and costs $599 for every year. And when I was looking for an alternative, I found "hideasoft remote desktop", which costs $50 for a lifetime and is more powerful than TeamViewer. It can connect up to 1000 terminals and can support video conferencing. I think this is the only real alternative to TeamViewer.

I have never used this service before but get an email saying I'm on auto-renew and that my card will be automatically charged some 400 odd $ tomorrow. I called a number on the email, got someone not from this country who told me to type an website address in my computer and she would help me to cancel. I told her I wasn't comfortable going to a website I hadn't heard of before from an email and person whom I also don't know or heard of before. I have been retired for 9 years and do not do much on my computers, I checked back through my bank statements and don't see where I've ever been charged or had signed up for anything. BEWARE, NOT ALL SEEMS RIGHT.
Very disappointed how they handle customers that have legitimate issues. Once they have you under contract they basic you did tell you to take a hike if you don't like it.
Nearly Impossible to reach for service and cancellation. Sneaky cancellation policy and harassing "retention specialist" was not a good combo for a service business.
I joined TeamViewer just over 1 year ago. I paid the annual fee by Paypal and within a couple of months TeamViewer were threatening legal action saying I had not paid my subscription. They finally sorted it out on there end and I was up and running and all was sweet although no apology from them, disgraceful service.
To my surprise they took $578 charged to Paypal on the 27th July, 2019, no bill sent prior they just took the money. Now this evening I set up my new computer and after 2 hours of trying to set up the TeamViewer I realise under the account setting again the funds have not been allocated to my account and the system is wanting me to pay again for a new subscription which has already been paid.
I can no longer use the TeamViewer probably because the system is wanting me to pay again.
They have sent an automated email, advising they have received my 2 emails sent and that's it so far.
I wonder how many other people have this problem? I really needed to use the TeamVeiwer this evening to submit a quote which I can kiss goodbye. Thanks TeamViewer. Last year it was legal action for a paid account and now I've really been let down bady. What a terrible company.
Sammy and Ronnie got access to my Computer to give me a refund. Instead they took money from my Paypal account and a credit card. They are a SCAM and will do anything to get control of your Computer!
Started using TeamViewer as a personal user to simply help family and friends remotely with computer problems. Always the same 4 computers and sometimes weeks apart. Well TeamViewer started to send me messages stating that I was suspected of using it for commercial purposes, which I ignored since I wasn't using it for commercial purposes. This message popped up every time I used the program, which, mind you, was still about 2-3 times a month. Then suddenly they revoked my access and I couldn't use it at all. I contacted their customer service through chat and told them the situation. I was told it was nearly impossible to restore access once it has been terminated. The rep asked me what I used it for and I explained and he said he would try to restore my access. He subsequently informed me he could restore my access for a $75 a month plan. I reiterated that I barely used it and he had the logs and my user history to verify that fact, but he still insisted I had to pay at least $75 per month to have my access restored. I told him where he could shove it, and have been using Chrome Remote Desktop without issue for over 4 years now.
I love TeamViewer and used it for years to manage my own computers and my families as the families "free help desk". So naturally when the need arose at work I pushed for purchase of TeamViewer corporate. The cost was about $3k for 3 seats ( free version is unlimited). What I didn't realize was the pay version is more restricted than the free version. The verbiage is confusing and I thought I thought the 3 seat limit was accounts but its per connection. So if I connect to 3 machines on my account I have maxed out the limit and anyone else that tries to use it will get an error or if I try to connect to a 4th device I get an error. The pay version also does not support the free cell phone applications ( you must pay for this) and wreaks havoc on my personal account. I have two separate accounts, the one that has my grandma's laptop and the one that has the $10k servers for work. Because I use the same computer for both accounts I get those annoying "Commercial Use Suspected" warnings and eventually it goes into Restricted mode where I can only connect for a few minutes EVEN with the account I paid nearly $3k. What does TeamViewer support say? First of all they are super slow to respond, you will be luck to get a response within a few days, then they want the logs and that takes another 2 weeks to review for some reason. After that they said my use case was unique and not worth solving and I should just use two computers. REALLY? I should use two separate computers because your software that I paid a small can't have a flag added that separates the commercial from personal accounts?
Poor service and dissatisfied with the product as it did not improve the performance or anything that helped my device
After 3 years of constant technical and accounting problems for our small non-profit group, I cancelled my TeamViewer account. Ken Burger *******882, Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Would give 0 stars if possible. Have been a customer for more than 5 years, paying yearly business subscriptions. Have not received invoice for one of the subscriptions, no communication, no reminders. When tried to use that subscription (on pc not often used), could not use the software, it requested the invoice nr to make the payment. Tried to find the invoice nr, no emails, checked spam folders. Nothing. Received a very nasty and rude letter from a debt collector company in Germany, threatening, accusing, insisting we will pay. Added 100Euros to the costs. Phoned their customer support, asked invoice nr. Said it was emailed. Asked for proof that it was emailed. Still have not received any proof or any invoice. Want to cancel, cannot because I do not have the invoice nr. Customer service staff very rude, multiple times disconnected phone during conversation, had to phone back again and again. Have been reading many reviews on all kinds of social media channels, seems there is a very big problem with Teamviewer, my guess they are in big financial trouble. Trying to cancel my subscriptions, must do it with a ticket, customer service said she will open a ticket and forward the proof of the invoice and reminders sent. It has been days. Still waiting.
Read some comments people have been trying for years to unsubscribe, others give 364 days notice (only need 28), yet Teamviewer still deducted the yearly sub.
Stay clear from this one, there is clearly something very wrong
Update: managed to get into the portal (finally), cannot cancel here. Phoned customer service again. Requested again the proof that I was emailed the invoice and the reminders. Received a partial spreadsheet as proof, no SMTP time/date stamp.
Anyone can create a spreadsheet.
Been told you cannot cancel via portal (as per their FB instructions) must be done via written email (by a digital company)
Have now emailed and cancelled all the subscriptions. Waiting for a reply
Some comments said they tried for 3 years to unsubscribe
Hello, I'm using this app since years, and it WAS fantastic because it let me to help my tech-limited parents and my old mother and father from my house, in the best scenario 90 Km so far from my home, in the worst one 9300 Km so far.
Now, can you image which kind of problems you can have with old people making trouble on PC and you're not living close to them? And now, when I had any trouble I must also had to think to contact the Teamviewer Support to let them to investigate and, just in case, unlock my account?
And you'll explain also why, to an 81's old man, he must wait maybe 2/3 days that the Teamviewer Support will fix this issue to let me to fix my father's PC to let him to watch a movie or listen his favourite music?
I'm sorry, but if you had this greatest idea to try to get more money to survive, with me you're completely wrong!
There are tons of app doing the same teamviewer job without giving any problems, for free, or spending a lot of less money than a Teamviewer yearly subscription, and that's what I did.
You're NO MORE BELIEVABLE and I can NOT let ANYONE to make me so many troubles for free, especially where all the IPs I got access didn't point to any Industry, but just private houses.
So, ALL Teamviewer had been UNISTALLED from ALL PCs and phones, from any opening web page asking me a feedback I wrote just tons of swears, I installed (the payed version) another app
So, who want to continue this app, GOOD LUCK!
For a large company the customer service is appalling. We now use one of the many competitor's at least cost and better service.
Answer: They say I don't qualify to talk to a real person when I call the number and they don't respond to my tickets...
Answer: Definitely Chrome Remote Desktop. Been using for about 4 years now and haven't had any issues. Improvements over the few years since I first started using it have made it even better.
TeamViewer has a rating of 1.2 stars from 167 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with TeamViewer most frequently mention customer service, credit card and year subscription. TeamViewer ranks 12th among Remote Desktop sites.
