I would like to contrast all others in stating that I have had an EXCELLENT experience with Team Viewer. I have had on brief interaction with tech support, well because I know how to utilize the software. Simply put, the easiest platform to roll out to users that are not so tech savvy. I strongly advise if not a huge company it works great. Would not know how the platform operates on a corporate level, but would assume it would meet all stakeholders interests

Be advised company has a 28 day cancellation policy they strictly enforce! They state they mail you reminders but I didn't receive either of the two they stated then sent. Oddly (LOL), I did receive confirmation that my credit card was charged after I attempted to cancel the subscription prior to renewal. I was advised they will pursue collection actions if I dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Very bad experience. I paid around $700 for nothing because TeamViewer refused to refund me even it was before the new services started. I wasn't allowed to cancel another year's subscription. TeamViewer is so bad. It is contrary to Australia's consumer's protection policy.

I needed to cancel my account, figuring I had about a month before renewal, as I hadn't gotten the standard notices yet. I have just become disabled and am unable to work (self-employed), and therefore unable to use the software. Got charged for another year just the other day. Explained my situation, they would not budge. I changed my email in my TV account as that is the only thing I've used for years. Apparently I needed to change it in the customer portal as well (unbeknownst to me), as that is the email they use to send out reminders. Therefore I never got any. They don't care. The $650 is more important to them than a disabled person I guess. It's all black and white to them, no grey.

So now I'm stuck with a bill I will struggle to pay since I am ordered by my doctor to stop working.

Anyone looking for a simple free replacement should check out dwservice.

Very disgusted with this company and will never ever recommend them again.

TeamViewer works really well for me! I've been using TeamViewer for nearly five years, and I find it very user friendly, highly functional, and low footprint on my desktop. If all else fails, I'll read the manual (as with any software tool), and I don't have to do that much with TeamViewer; it's quite intuitive and easy to navigate.

Tip for consumers:
It's easy to download and install, therefore no shipping charges.

Our remote team of editors consistently had issues with Teamviewer. It's an inferior product that we stopped using. When we tried to cancel we were told we had to notify them 28 days ahead of the renewal date. This is a completely ridiculous and unethical policy. This company knows they're selling a garbage product that customers will want to cancel, so they've put in this shady policy to trap them and make it difficult to cancel so they can keep their money. STAY AWAY from Teamviewer.

Yearly subscription, must be cancelled 28 days before renewal date. No courtesy warning email, that your subscription is about to be renewed. When contacting the help desk to discuss our business circumstances, they don't talk you, they just send you a copy paste email with standard referral to T&C... No thanks, do yourself a favour and use other more flexible programs, as TeamViewer doesn't give a $#*!...

A TeamViewer subscriber for 4 years. Cancelled two weeks before renewal date and was told I'd have to pay for another YEAR. This is not a cheap product. The initial email from 2019 says 28 days notice required to cancel renewal. Never been mentioned since. NO renewal notice, no invoice, nothing. I specifically forbade them to charge my credit card but they went ahead and charged it anyway. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and expect to succeed but they say the will send it to debt collection. Horrible business practice.

TeamViewer does not allow you to cancel an upcoming renewal unless you cancel your subscription more than 28 days before the prior subscription expires. This unnecessary restriction is predatory and cannot be justified from a customer's perspective (but it's great for TeamViewer's bank accounts!).

Renewals are billed on an annual basis. If I want to cancel an upcoming renewal prior to the new term I should be able to. NOTE: I'm not talking about cancelling my current year of service, I'm talking about cancelling my UPCOMING year of service.

Avoid this shady company at all costs.

I just found out the hard way that if you no longer wish to renew your license, after the one year has expired, you have to notify them 28 days in advance.
They never wrote anything to let me know that the year was about to expire, I was only presented with an invoice for me to pay.
Upon refusal of payment, I started receiving threatening emails from Credit Reform, their Debt Collector company, that I am forced to pay, otherwise legal actions will be pursued against me.
I have not ever dealt with any other business, with such practices, beware and stay away from this company!
Let us also not forget how they used to sell perpetual, lifetime licenses to people, only to then start asking them for paying a subscription fee.
A shady company from every perspective!
The good thing is that there are many alternatives out there!
An expensive lesson learned, always make your due diligence and read up on a company practices, before you engage in making a contract with them.
Posts regarding TeamViewer's practices are all over the internet since 2016, and they do what they do, because "they can", disregarding any customer satisfaction.

Please make sure to cancel renewal any product when you buy it because you will be automatically renewed for double the price with no option to negotiate or change your licenses. Absolute Garbage company and waste of time to even call them. There many Better companies that they do not live from scamming customers.

Tip for consumers:
Please use another company there is multiple better options.

I use TeamViewer 2 or 3 times a year to help my mom who lives out of state. It was very helpful as she is 87 years old. Recently they blocked up because they said we were using it for commercial use, which is ludicrous. I'm fine with it not being free, but don't state that it is, if it isn't. That's called a scam.

I got this for my business to be able to be remote. At first it was decent, however it went up in price and down in quality. The cost over $650 a year, no weekend support, when you do call for support you are in queue for over an hour and most of the time you will be disconnected when you get close to first or second in queue. When you do try to cancel you will get the run around just enough of a run around that you will miss the 28 day cancellation. I 100% would NOT recommend this company. Customer service is horrible and so is the quality of the service itself.

Product itself was OK, but they refused to refund after accidental renewal of an yearly subscription. I ended up paying for 2 years now, when I only needed one.

They are essentially making business on people not reading their EULA. On yearly subscriptions:
"In order to terminate a subscription, a written request must be submitted at least 28 days prior to the date of renewal"

I respectfully asked for a refund, but they are unapologetic about it.

No matter how many times I've tried, they keep blocking me because THEY believe I am doing remote support as a business. They are wrong and they are horrible people. They won't listen. I moved to FL and have been trying to help my mother in law, brother, and a few friends with helpful support.

These horrible people don't want to listen. Yet show NO PROOF EVER of me using this software for profit.

Never liked the software. Clients found it hard to use and glitches.
The worst thing is cancelling. We only had 20 nodes left and I tried to cancel 2 times and thought it took and when I didn't get any confirmation, I emailed them. 10 days later I got a reason how sorry they were they couldn't cancel my subscription that expired now in12 days but hers a few bucks off. I was livid, so I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. Don't fall for the annual auto renew scam. Run away. I love Dualmon and ConnectWise.

Expensive for what you get and beware of "small print" cancellation policies. Seriously, get with you with a 28 day notice to cancel? Better and less shady options out there so recommend staying away from this company.

I have used teamviewer for years and the functionality of the software is great for helping friends and family. Now, I can't anymore because Teamviewer believes I am using it for commercial use and wants me to pay hundreds per MONTH! If this were maybe 5-10 per month I would consider it, but this is outrageous to help my mother log into Facebook every once in a while.

Totally appalled with their level of customer service. I was automatically billed again because they claim that I have already agreed to it when I signed up. However, no notification was sent before they deducted the amount from the credit card.
When I emailed them about this matter, they repeatedly insisted that they will not refund. Finally they said they will close the case since it's been resolved. When I emailed back and told them it's not resolved yet because I demand for a full refund, they rudely replied case is CLOSED!
What kind of insolence reply is this?

I used the free version of Team Viewer but ultimately needed to purchase the paid version. Happened to be out of town, and my account was flagged as "commercial". So, being between the proverbial "rock and a hard place", I purchased an annual license. Coming to the end of the year, I found another program that met my needs for 10% of the price. But found out that Team Viewer had "automatically" charged me for a second year. When I contacted them, the emailed back that I had failed to cancel a month before the contract ended, and so was out the money.:>( "Read the fine print", they said! So... I would say that Team Viewer is a good program, but has more features than I need, and costs more than I can afford. Getting in touch with them by phone is unreasonably difficult if not well nigh impossible. SO WATCH OUT!
If someone from Team Viewer would happen to read this, my name is Jim Siegrist. And I will be very glad to add to this review that you do offer refunds in situations such as mine, if you would offer to refund.

Tip for consumers:
Read the fine print; ask questions before giving a credit card number or Pay Pal payment. SplashTop is one program that is quite serviceable for personal use computer to computer at about $60 per year. (There are other good programs in addition to Splashtop, I understand.) I think Team Viewer would be a good fit for someone who programs or repairs software remotely on a routine basis. And it has many other features that I have not explored because I had no need to use those features.

Products used:
Only the Remote Unattended Access. They do have much more available for someone who routinely needs to access other computers on a routine basis. I only used it from one of my computers to a second of my computers.

My reliance on modern technology has always felt empowering until the day I found myself stranded across the globe, victim to an unforgiving 2FA system that locked me out of my lifeline, courtesy of Teamviewer remote control tool.

Teamviewer prides itself on its robust security, and in many ways, it delivers. Its two-factor authentication (2FA) system adds an extra layer of protection to keep unauthorized users at bay. Unfortunately, I've discovered firsthand that their emphasis on security comes at the cost of compassion and common sense when it comes to customer service.

Upon losing my phone, I quickly realized I had also lost access to my 2FA app. My error, of course, was not keeping a recovery code – a mistake I won't repeat. I reached out to Teamviewer for help, fully expecting them to have some form of alternate authentication. After all, isn't that the norm in the 21st century?

Sadly, the answer was a resounding no,apart for their suggestion of using a recovery code which I did not have. Despite having recovery mechanisms in place such as disabling 2FA from their end, Teamviewer refused to entertain any other authentication method. Instead, they kept me locked out of my account.

Stuck in a foreign country, I found myself unable to access my main computer remotely, effectively crippling my ability to manage my finances and execute urgent payments. This restriction caused severe disruption to my client work as my local machine was the only place where my work data resided. The result? Disappointed clients and lost business opportunities.

In my desperation, I was forced to cut my travels short and embark on a *******-mile journey home just to regain control of my digital life.

Throughout this ordeal, I reached out to Teamviewer multiple times, only to receive robotic, templated responses. I even offered to provide additional verification like my passport photo selfie - a sign that I am who I say I am. But these were not deemed sufficient.
My ordeal with Teamviewer was a wake-up call, a brutal lesson about the pitfalls of 2FA and the perils of placing complete trust in Teamviewer customer service. As I was stranded and helpless, Teamviewer remained steadfast in their robotic and rigid adherence to policy, indifferent to the hardships I was facing.

My experience was a rude awakening to the reality that security protocols can sometimes become chains rather than shields, trapping genuine users out in the cold. I sincerely hope my ordeal serves as a wake-up call for Teamviewer and other companies who adopt similar stringent policies.

In conclusion, potential users must know this: with Teamviewer, you may find yourself not just locked out of your account, but locked out of your life, stranded in a predicament from which the company seems unwilling to release you. This is not just a remote control tool, but a tool that can remotely control your fate, as it did mine.
