If you buy TeamViewer, here is what will most probably happen:
TeamViewer will

(1) hook you on their recurring payment scheme. About 1000 USD per year. Then

(2) ask everyone you are using TeamViewer with to also pay pay pay. Otherwise you cannot work with that other person and TeamViewer is useless for that collaboration. Again the price is 1000 USD each, RECURRENT PAYMENTS.

(3) Until you cannot use it with anyone. And then one day,...

(4) Kaboom! They just charged you 1000 USD that you cannot get back! Yes, it is that recurrent payment that you realize you had agreed to one year ago and did not notice or forgot about. Of course they did not remind when the time approached. Why should they? They already hooked you with a binding contract and you cannot get your money back anyways.

(5) They will ignore your request in email, even if it is time of a global pandemic.

(6) You will feel very bad, because Zoom, Webex, and many other software same features and are faster than TeamViewer, and most cost much much less, like 200 USD or even free.

So it is up to you whether you want this experience or not,

#teamviewer #remoteaccess #software #videoconference #badexperience #customerexperience

They sign you up on an auto renew policy. They become highly offended when you ask that they cancel your subscription before it does get renewed. They want you to pay every year whether or not you have a use for the product. You need a good team of lawyers to get them to not auto renew your subscription. Avoid them at all cost.

Given money to the Glazers at Manchester United. We don't want Team Viewer to sponsor United. Product is awful and I would rather use anything else.

My reliance on modern technology has always felt empowering until the day I found myself stranded across the globe, victim to an unforgiving 2FA system that locked me out of my lifeline, courtesy of Teamviewer remote control tool.

Teamviewer prides itself on its robust security, and in many ways, it delivers. Its two-factor authentication (2FA) system adds an extra layer of protection to keep unauthorized users at bay. Unfortunately, I've discovered firsthand that their emphasis on security comes at the cost of compassion and common sense when it comes to customer service.

Upon losing my phone, I quickly realized I had also lost access to my 2FA app. My error, of course, was not keeping a recovery code – a mistake I won't repeat. I reached out to Teamviewer for help, fully expecting them to have some form of alternate authentication. After all, isn't that the norm in the 21st century?

Sadly, the answer was a resounding no,apart for their suggestion of using a recovery code which I did not have. Despite having recovery mechanisms in place such as disabling 2FA from their end, Teamviewer refused to entertain any other authentication method. Instead, they kept me locked out of my account.

Stuck in a foreign country, I found myself unable to access my main computer remotely, effectively crippling my ability to manage my finances and execute urgent payments. This restriction caused severe disruption to my client work as my local machine was the only place where my work data resided. The result? Disappointed clients and lost business opportunities.

In my desperation, I was forced to cut my travels short and embark on a *******-mile journey home just to regain control of my digital life.

Throughout this ordeal, I reached out to Teamviewer multiple times, only to receive robotic, templated responses. I even offered to provide additional verification like my passport photo selfie - a sign that I am who I say I am. But these were not deemed sufficient.
My ordeal with Teamviewer was a wake-up call, a brutal lesson about the pitfalls of 2FA and the perils of placing complete trust in Teamviewer customer service. As I was stranded and helpless, Teamviewer remained steadfast in their robotic and rigid adherence to policy, indifferent to the hardships I was facing.

My experience was a rude awakening to the reality that security protocols can sometimes become chains rather than shields, trapping genuine users out in the cold. I sincerely hope my ordeal serves as a wake-up call for Teamviewer and other companies who adopt similar stringent policies.

In conclusion, potential users must know this: with Teamviewer, you may find yourself not just locked out of your account, but locked out of your life, stranded in a predicament from which the company seems unwilling to release you. This is not just a remote control tool, but a tool that can remotely control your fate, as it did mine.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND REFUSE TO ISSUE REFUNDS!

I received an email last night telling me they have charged my credit card $500 for the next year. I logged into my Teamviewer account and couldn't find anywhere to cancel it. I only found a "delete account" button so I used it, All it did was delete my account which I still have to pay for because Teamviewer apparently doesn't issue refunds and now I can't even log back into my account because I deleted it! What kind of company doesn't issue refunds?

I liked their product but not for $500 a year! I barely use it. Their customer service is very concerning. When I called in to cancel I was on hold for over 30 minutes as I was caller #10. The first customer service guy told me I had to write a letter stating that I wanted to cancel my account. Why do I have to write a letter when I just sat on hold for over half an hour? After I requested a refund and was denied I told him I would contact the BBB so he transferred me to another customer service person who told me the exact same thing but was able to cancel my account for me over the phone. I asked her how do I access my account now that I've deleted the account and they won't issue me a refund and she said she would transfer me to support. I'm now sitting on hold again as Caller #10!

I will NEVER recommend Teamviewer to anyone again. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. Bad enough that i'm actually writing this review.

Although this site itself is legitimate, the use of its software Teamviewer is being abused by scammers, the software is designed to be used by participants that want to link their computers together for meetings & to be able to diagnose problem on each others desktops, The abuse of this software & the scam comes about, when someone phones u to say they are from Microsoft & have spotted virus & other nastys on your computer, which is a lie as this cannot be done like this, they then ask you to install TeamViewer so they can take control of your computer & show you things that will scare you, but these things are actually quite normal, they then ask for money via your credit card & will charge you many times over, if u don't give then your card details at this point they will delete stuff off your computer & make it unusable, so at the beginning of the call hang up immediately or refuse to install the software they will get annoyed this shows they are not genuine Microsoft & no one would ever call you like this anyway, if you think your computer is at threat buy & install McAffe or a similar virus killer, what ever else gets past these virus killers is small potatoes you could add spyhunter to totally clean your system, & Advance system care from Iobit which u can just use the free program, remember if someone calls you its likely to be a scam, or not in your best interests, if you wanted it you would of called them.

Hello, I wanted to give my quick comments on Teamviewer. I use Teamviewer very occasionally to help my sister in Canada who has autistic child back up medical files and emails with doctors. (There are years of info, related to her autistic son that she cannot afford to lose.) So, once every 2 months I would use TeamViewer, to access her computer, tidy it up and move her files and documents and photos the cloud.

*** Now Teamviewer cuts my connection every 2 mins (unworkable!) and they state that my use has been detected as commercial use! (say what?) Worse there is NO live or chat support for personal Teamviewer users. You have to go to their website and submit messages and wait a few days (I think?)

It is not a very friendly process and I just learned that you can ask for a reset of your Teamviewer back to 'personal use'. To do this you have to go to "https :// www.teamviewer. Com/en/reset-management/", get your device validated, re-log on, complete the PDF stating you are a personal user, print out, sign, scan the signed PDF, and re-upload to the same website and then wait 2 days for a response! The alternative is to pay 49 $ a month (yikes) it seems for a license (which doesn't make sense if I only use Teamviewer occasionally and clearly for personal use.)

So... I am disappointed with Teamviewer and what seems to be a desire to just charge more and more... or force people the commercial route direction for large monthly premiums.

*** After my TeamViewer fiasco at being branded a commercial user, I chatted with Kara from "ANYDESK". ANYDESK seems to be a nice alternative and it is free for personal use (https://anydesk.com/en/downloads). I will test their software 1 or 2 times and, if I like it, then I don't mind going the LITE version for $10 a month even thought i could use the personal version for free. I would like to encourage companies that are sensitive to people's needs and are not so greedy and that don't waste my time.

Thanks for reading
