I am not sure what the general requirements for being a tasker on TasRabbit, but it seems to be terrible. The man came to assemble my cabinet, he ended taking hours to finish, and did a horrible job to boot. Half the doors didn't open at all, and it was completely misaligned. Attempting to reach customer service to see if I either get a refund, or to send someone competent at our way to fix it. The cabinet was nearly one thousand dollars, and ended up getting ruined. However, phone calling is completely useless, as I ended up on hold for undisclosed time before getting booted anyways. I've tried to call them multiple times to no avail. On top of that I don't get a reply to my chatbot in hours as well. 0/10 could not recommend any less.

I got a king size bed from ikea and they arranged these scammers to install my bed. I was scheduled on Thursday, so I took off from work. At the time of the appointment, the tasker calls me to tell that he has to cancel my appointment since he is double booked and as I have pre paid the company through ikea, he will give more priority to the other client. I call the customer service but they want me to book a different appointment and also pay more money. Finally ikea booked me for Friday. Then at the time of the appointment, the new tasker again cancels my appointment and let me know he can only come on next day. Then he finally shows up on Saturday 2 hours late and it takes him 4 hours to finish 50% of the installation and suddenly tells my wife he has to leave immediately since he has a different task which is very important to him. My wife tells him to finish our task first, but he completely ignores her and leaves. Now my current status is I got my bed 1 week back and I'm still sleeping on floor. Never experienced anything like this in Canada.

I booked someone to do a relatively small task and they messaged me a few times for specifics, but they also asked if I was flexible on scheduling. I said yes, but I wanted the task done ASAP. My request was made Friday and he said he'd schedule me for Tuesday. Monday morning, I logged in to check the status and saw the task was cancelled because he was no longer available, but I didn't get any email or text notifications. Ridiculous. So I tried booking another person and after 2 hours with no response, I cancelled the task myself because I was needing the task completed by Tuesday at the latest. Still waiting to see if Taskrabbit tries to charge me the cancellation fee even though the 2nd tasker never accepted and the first was a flake. Incredible disappointment and waste of time!

When a tasker causes damage (large or small), TaskRabbit requires you to first file a claim with your homeowners insurance & provide proof that you've done so. Currently in the US, just about any claim against your homeowners insurance will result in either an huge jump in your rates or complete cancellation of coverage, and good luck finding new homeowners insurance. When a tasker caused damage in my home, that's what they required, so I'm forced to pay for the repair and replacement of items (including finding someone qualified to do that repair). So much for my Happiness with TaskRabbit. Then when I went into their system to give a review, suddenly I'm not able, and the tasker that was working on my shower - it now says he was doing furniture assembly! He dropped the expensive rain shower head, severely damaging it, plus damaged the handle that selects handheld or shower. I'll have to replace the entire unit (as the head itself isn't available). The unit is about $520 plus the cost of having a qualified plumber install it. (I have no proof of purchase as the folks that just remodeled had purchased it.) Preventing me from doing a review and altering what he was doing (after the fact) is definitely dishonest at best. I'll never, ever use TaskRabbit again, and I really don't recommend anyone else do so either - the risk is too high. Please read the details on their 'Happiness Pledge' and you will probably agree.

Shame I have had to give one star as they don't even deserve that! The way they treat their taskers is terrible! Their customer service stinks and as for resolving issues, no taskrabbit you have NOT resolved my issue until you have made the payment you owe me for work that I have done!

Waste of my time!
April 3, 2024

Signed up. Booked a task. Picked the guy. Picked the day and time. Tasker gets back to me with completely different day and times! I gave him two other dates and a time range and he said he couldn't do it! Wasted my time. Stupid service. Takes forever to figure out how to cancel. Could have assembled the item myself in that time.

I hired a Tasker to help unload one piece of furniture from our vehicle and just bring it inside. Within the initial conversation, the Tasker tried telling me he requires a 2 hour minimum which was not listed anywhere on his profile or at the time of hire. When I told him we would then have to cancel, he changed his mind and agreed to the original task, stating that the company allows Tasker to negotiate upon hire. We paid for 1 hour of service for a task that would take no longer than 5 minutes which we were fine with. However, my husband got stuck in traffic and ended up 30 minutes late to meet the Tasker, who I was in constant contact and offered a heavy tip for waiting, which he agreed to. The Tasker left 2 minutes before my husband arrived and refused to turn back, which left my husband to unload the furniture by himself as I'm pregnant and cannot lift. We were now being charged a full hour of service for the Tasker waiting 30 minutes and leaving before performing the task hired for. The initial support person applied a 50% credit to the account and said they would escalate the situation, but I was still being charged full price for the task that was never performed. Today, I contacted support again and they said there is nothing further they can do and now are refusing to deactivate my account. I had to cancel my debit card and order a replacement in order not to be charged for a service not rendered. It's such a shame because the first time we used the service, we happily paid a full hour of service for a 5 minute unloading task and the Tasker was amazing! Unfortunately I will never use this service again after this experience and highly recommend anyone else to look elsewhere

If I could rate a negative I would. We tasked a mover and were in contact with him up until the day before the move. We got a text from Taskrabbit that he would be there in an hour. Not only did he NEVER show up, he never he let us know he was not. I contacted customer service and was told "oh well he is an independent contractor so we don't have control over that".? How about your exorbitant fees, what is that paying for then? An hour and 45 minutes after I called customer service, they sent me a text saying the job had been cancelled and to try another tasker. I clicked on that and it said there were no other taskers available. Freaked out, you bet! Nothing like scrambling to have to rent a U-haul and beg anybody we know to help carry everything and working in the dark at night because of the crazy late start. OMG serious breach of trust!

Free market
February 24, 2024

When you try to be a Tasker in certain areas they say that we already have enough Taskers in this area. Advertising for more participants in saturated areas might be a part of Task Rabbit's ongoing effort to attract a diverse pool of workers. However, if they are not currently accepting new participants due to saturation, it could create confusion. This situation highlights the importance of transparent communication between platforms and potential participants to manage expectations and avoid frustration. Companies should strive to provide accurate information in their advertising to maintain trust within the marketplace with Task Rabbit is obviously not doing! 5 thumbs down. Areas that are not available to Taskers should be temporarily paused until more opportunities are available. False advertising. Period! And a waste of my time to sign up. For example, when I signed up to be a Tasker, they took all my information. They know my location and where I was going to look for work. At that point, they should have stopped me, but they didn't. Typical big business always thinking about themselves. Taking our information and then selling to someone else-- Their secondary business. BEWARE!

Terrible ‼‼
February 17, 2024

I've been through 3 cleaners in the last 24 hours! Don't waste your money and time! The first cleaner was a scam and they claim they do background checks therefore the first one was canceled. I rescheduled for a second person who not only speak English he had the nerve to ask me what all should he bring and he the cleaner lol then after I told him to bring all his supplies with him he waits 45 mins prior to needing to be here to be clean to ask me can he come an hour later. So I rescheduled yet again! The next cleaner had a 3 hr window he agains waits an hour prior to coming and just cancels the appointment. Y'all do not waste your time! I'm done with this platform it's nothing but a headache. They will offer you $30 on your next cleaning lol what good is it if no one shows up! Or if they even do (in the past) they don't speak English so that doesn't help! Then if you use a translation to help it's taking time for the hours you're paying for! This is ridiculous! No wonder the ratings are bad! The last time which was last year I had someone come she didn't even notify me she was finish she left my door unlocked and left. The bad part about this was I was in my bedroom waiting on her to finish and the only reason I knew she was done was because the app told me not her! Unprofessional at its finest! I'm better off paying Molly maids!

Test rabbit is marketing smart, but financially stupid. They have created a great website, but to charge such a high fee, which ironically uses the word "trust" is despicable. After using a Tasker for four hours I am now charged $72 for their trust. I would gladly pay a service fee, but to charge a service fee for every hour when they're doing nothing is outrageous, and I will never use them again.

I tried using task rabbit one time. I will never use this app again.

I made an arrangement with someone to move just a few items. The work would take less than an hour but I still hired him for two hours.

I flew into Sacramento from out of state. I spoke with the person that day a couple times. He said he would see me in the morning at 10am, the appointed time.

At 9am, an hour before the task, he cancels on me.

Task rabbit gave suggestions for other people that were supposed to all be available immediately. First of all, they were all at least twice the amount of the person I had originally hired. I saw some people over $100/hr. But second, NONE of them would be available for a couple days. Therefore, I was not able to hire anyone to help me with my task.

As it turned out, there was someone at the storage facility moving stuff with his girlfriend. I offered him some money and he was awesome and helped me move more than I had needed.

I can't help but think that Task Rabbit can have scam capabilities - canceling at the last minute and then offering you people that cost twice as much. However, none were available to be hired.

There is also not an option for you to complain on the app about such things.

I think it is a bad idea to plan a move or task with task rabbit. The person can bail on you at the last minute and you're completely out of luck if that is what you're depending on.

This app is atrocious.

Ikea recommendation for self assembly wardrobes. The sensor light should go off when door closes...it doesn't. One handle not put on...I would need to drill hole myself to do...the worst of it he's made to holes in 2 doors by error and patched it up with white plastic dowels. Task Rabbit have offered me £38 credit to get another tasker out! What a con. Do not use at all. And I have no means of contacting the assembler as this can only be done via TR platform

Since I am unable to leave an honest review on, Taskrabbit, I have to resort to other platforms to be able to do so. I've had some pretty good luck with great workers from sites such as Angi and Taskrabbit until recently with Tasker, "Courtney C.," in the Dallas, Texas/Fort Worth area. Firstly, Mr. Courtney DID NOT HAVE A MOVING TRUCK AS ADVERTISED. Secondly, as soon as I greeted him at his truck, I smelled marijuana very strongly then he used marijuana while working, which is illegal in the State of Texas. I don't care what you do on your own time, but you're showing up to do a professional job smoking marijuana is disrespectful and very unprofessional. It was so embarrassing to pull into the storage bay and smell his extremely loud marijuana. I for one am allergic to smoke, so I am very sensitive to all of it. Thirdly, I had to communicate one too many times to inquire about, Mr. Courtney and his helper's location. We communicated about one break that they took, but other than that, the other times they were missing, I had no idea what or where they were during the job, which I am charged for… He later lied and literally said they took no breaks. We followed one another back and forth to the storages, but too many times they arrived very late after me. Lastly and the most egregious, I ended up having to use my own vehicle to help transport items from my own storage, because again, Mr. Courtney was not equipped to complete the task and did not come with an actual moving truck as advertised. With that being said, the job took far too long, too much longer WITHOUT an actual moving truck, and now I'm stuck with a $1200 bill. Granted, I could've ended the job much sooner, which I certainly wanted to, however I had to be out of my storage by midnight. Now, who's going to pay me for the work I had to do and my gas and use of my own vehicle? I would be satisfied with paying the bill if I didn't have to lift a finger or use my truck or my gas too, but unfortunately I had too, because Mr. Courtney lied about having a moving truck. By nightfall, and because he did take far too long, I just refused to continue being raped with charges, ended the job, and I had to complete moving the boxes myself and alone.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
January 24, 2024

Taskrabbit have not tried to resolve my problem. The plumber came to my resident with a plunger in his hand and nothing else. He went to the bathroom and plunged the toilet and said "it's fixed", then he left. He was there 15 minutes and it cost me $91. When I called Taskrabbit to complain, they actually told me to call the plumber and tell him, however I went to the Taskrabbit website to get the plumber and I paid my money to Taskrabbit and they told me to call the plumber. They also gave me a credit of $44, so I just lost $47 because my toilet is still doing exactly the same thing I called for in the first place. This was a group home for the mentally ill, a nonprofit organization and I do not have $47 to just throw up in the air. My issue still has nit been resolved.

The tasker comes to hang my TVs while doing that he drills a hole in a water pipe destroying my home and the one under it. I ask about their insurance they don't have any. Then offered my 445$ for all the water damages. I sent all invoices from my apartment that came up to 2123 in they basically said they not paying it. Yes I was soooo sad in still dealing with this now. I would not recommend this business at all.
