Now there is a $2.99 charge for getting a paper bill and paying by check, no notice except the one that came with the bill. Totally unacceptable, keep your greed. The second complaint is the courtesy with giving customers a box, paper and ribbon for gift items is gone, even their shopping bags are
Just brown bags now. With this said my shopping with Talbots is finished and also the other stores that this private equity firm swallowed up. Good luck future customers.
I have been a customer for many years. It was one of the few stores that I could get decent petite sizes. Recently I ordered 2 petite tops on line. Someone in the company decided to change the length of the so called petites that are now way too long for me. See the shirt I bought previously compared to the new one. I went into a store yesterday to make a return. The manager was rude and would not listen when I told her that the credit card account I used to pay was now closed. She credited it anyway. I called the 800 number to get help and they hung up on me.
Store 335 September 8,23 all clerks were helpful! Abby waited on me great customer service genuine clerk! I really like this store its product and much appreciated the service! For some reason could not do survey online so I am
On this site! Thankyou for everything service kindness, product and hours of availability! Joyce trans.6136
I order from Talbots on a regular basis. I recently ordered several items and one was not sent. I contacted company by email and never received a response. I spoke to "Yvonne", a customer service rep online and was informed this item was cancelled. I asked if they were going to notify m and she said they sent an email. They never sent an email. No apology, no trying to rectify the situation. She said maybe the email went to spam. Funny, all their other emails I get. Horrendous CS. There are plenty of other stores that would be happy to get customer's dollars and have good CS. Finished with Talbots.
I found a cute dress last year at your shop and thought I'd visit again. (I don't wear dresses often). I visited your store in Bloomington, Illinois on Tuesday around 12:15. There were 2 clerks on the floor helping one customer. Didn't say a single word to me the entire time and was there. Not even a hello. I spent about ten minutes looking around. Specifically for a petite size dress. I heard someone tell the other customer fall items will be in in a couple weeks and to check back. I don't think I'll check it out though.
It's interesting that your website goes into "we care, our mission, our mantra, our values…especially the we are committed to building relationships with customers blah, blah, blah.
Ordered sweater when it was on sale. Got an email saying sweater was sold out and my order was cancelled.
Their webs site had the sweater still available in all sizes for a higher price. Contacted them for an explanation but have recieved no response. I should have checked the reviews before ordering from this company.
The quality of service and items from Talbots has declined steadily for years, but now it is really over. In store and call center employees are paid very poorly. Call centers are understaffed and the majority are located out of the United States, resulting in language barriers and frustrated customers. Call center employees quickly burn out with the rapid pace and low pay. The worst change, however, will see the end of the company. Talbots just joined Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico's and more brands in a mega company called Knitwell. The Talbot's quality and service of years past will now decline more rapidly as we the watch the company lose their individuality and once elegant reputation. Loyal customers will quickly become just a number in a bloated conglomerate.
I bought two acrylic-blend sweaters from Talbot. Both pilled in short order; one had not even been washed once. I got no satisfaction in dollars or otherwise from the store because, I was told, I hadn't complained within the required 60 days of purchase. Talbot's quality has diminished. It should stop using cheap synthetics and go back to the basics.
I received a coupon for $40 off of a purchase with no mentioned stipulations. I then got a 10% off code for my birthday. I successfully stacked these to buy two sleevless shirts that were buy one get one half off. The total was around $10. The order went through, and I got confirmation. They cancelled the order the next day with no explanation except to say that if I tried the order again online, it would not go through. I assume that they didn't like the deal I got on their incredibly overpriced clothing.
I have been a Talbots credit card holder for a number of years. I was trying to purchase some items and use my credit card. Because I am in NC at the moment and my address is CT it kept declining the card. I called customer service and was told that the ship to address had to match the billing address. If I wanted to place the order I first had to wait 24 hours and call back and see if it was possible to have customer service place the order for me no guarantee this was possible. It should not be this hard to place an order so I cancelled my credit card and will not purchase anything more from them. I prefer to work with a company that values my business not try to keep me from shopping and using their card. If I could give Talbots customer service less than 1 star I would.
Customer service super star is MaryEllen at store 4417. She not only knew her clothing smarts but was truly customer focused. She knew how not to be nosy but still offer advice almost as a of she had known us and what looked best on us. NOT to just make sales but to have happy, good looking customers. She is a true asset. P.s.- she ended up with more than $250.00 sales for her store and that was after the sales pricings.!
She is a 5 plus star totally unlike her counterpart working the same time at Black and White. That lady was bossy and overwhelming. Not only that but had a "she knows best" attitude. Would even interrupt our conversations to let us know she knew more than we did.
MaryEllen is a perfect teacher for the sales people in the Talbot family. Which of course includes Chicos.

Proof of purchase trans 4971 but big buyer friend.I dont have her proof with me.
I purchased a military jacket that had very specific clasps. One side of one fell off when I was out. They did not provide an extra clasp when I first purchased it (Banana Republic always provides an extra button, thread etc), but I figured, that's alright, I'll call them. I called and spoke to a rep. "You need to re-enforce buttons" um okay, never did that before, and are you seriously telling me that you expect me to do that when I buy an item from you? Followed by "I don't have any more of those" which would have been okay had she not followed it up by "this is really old". She wasn't politely explaining that she doesn't have it because it's last season, which I could have understood. It was like are you nuts calling about an item from six months ago. I politely told her that I expect to wear garments for longer than 6 months, and other companies supply you with a spare attached when you first make the purchase. This place is insane, their prices are high enough that they should try to help customers and if they can't then at least pretend to be apologetic - rather than what they did to me. Super not impressed. I don't know if I'd shop there again given my experience.
The website specified it would get here a day before I needed it. Now it'll get here a day after. This morning I messaged them and they said they cannot do anything until a tracking number is issued. Now that it is they're saying they cannot do anything because it shipped. Their customer service is unbelievably awful.
I ordered over £40 of clothing and didn't receive any of it. They sent me an email saying it had been delivered to the resident but that's a lie! I haven't received anything but they took my money quick enough. Disgusted with them.
I walked into the Talbots in Birkdale Village tonight with a specific request for shoes. The two women who were working there looked at me and asked what I was looking for and then immediately said no we don't have that and went back to their conversation. No interest in engaging with me or trying to help me find an alternative. When I walked out there was no acknowledgement other than them continuing their personal conversation. Just amazing.
I have purchased clothing from Talbots since 1994. While I worked their suits were perfect for my pharmaceutical sales job; after I retired their causal clothing was durable, well made and worth the extra dollars. I hope they stay in business, nothing fits as well as a Talbots cotton T shirt and a pair of jeans; shoes sizes have remained constant and are well made. I have things from Talbots that are 20 years old and still look great.
I am going to try contacting the State's Attorney Generals office. I had an issue with a car company and that worked well. At this point I just want my money back.
I've been a Talbots customer for over 15 years at New England stores. Since 2020, the level of customer service both in the store and on the phone has been atrocious. I cannot blame the store associates as they are paid minimum wage, expected to reach out and book customer appointments, wear masks all during the pandemic when it wasn't even required of customers to wear them, and work less than an 8 hr shift. Most are lovely people but are being compensated poorly and hence reflective on the sales floor. The phone line associates are all different in their understanding of applying promotions and discounts, abhorrent speaking skills, and just plain rude behavior. Overworked and underpaid. The quality of the product has decreased and the cost increased. The credit card interest rate is at almost 30%! Are you kidding?! The clothing line repeats itself year after year. It's very sad and the end seems near. The "Red Hangar" sale is now non existent?! What is going on at Talbots?!
Being a size 2, Talbots used to be a mainstay of my wardrobe for well over 30 years. However, they must have sold to some low quality outfit. The dyes in their tee shirts don't even last one season. Shoulders are sloppily done. I saw the change around 2016. I don't even open the catalogue any more.
Talbots is masterful in making clothing appear as though they use high-quality fibers which combined with the beautiful styles and great fit, have made them irresistible. However, the constant disappointment after the first and very careful wash that results in faded and obviously very poor quality fibers has cured me of my desires to shop at
Talbots. Not even the 50% off coupon can lure me into the store.
I understand that initial deception and low quality have resulted in higher profits but I am tired of being taken advantage of.
I'm very disappointed in many ways. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. Recently their policy for returns has changed, which dramatically impacts buyers who are not near a store (unless they want to pay a return shipping fee). Their sizes vary so wildly, there is no way you can order with certainty. Their in store service is rude, I'm very dissatisfied and will no longer shop there.
Answer: China, where everything else is made these days. I don't think many, if any, of their products are made in the USA.
Answer: They are sneaky. Waited over a month for a jacket, returned it and a month later I asked where is my credit. They said they received and put a credit in my account (not what I wanted as I purchased jacket elsewhere) but never notified me they received and I have a credit. In other words, they just keep unsuspecting customers' money and never tell you. I will never shop there again (except to use my credit if I can't get them to credit my card hahaha)
Answer: I have never had an issue with exchanges. I have never requested a refund.
Answer: The quality of the clothes going back about 10-15 years ago was EXCELLENT. I still have shorts purchased then but they are now showing their age. Purchased similar over the last get years and while they are still $60 the quality is on par with perhaps Walmart
Answer: They are easy to reach and cooperative. They are responsive to customer's needs
Answer: They are a legitimate company and have been in business for many years
