Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Additionally, complaints about payment processing and discrepancies in product conditions highlight a need for improved communication and accountability. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

We had a hiccup with our first phone choice, but the Swappa team was right on top of things when I posted my concerns. Then we found another phone with a different seller. Within minutes after placing our order for a mint condition Samsung Galaxy S5 on a Tuesday, the seller had started the shipping process. The phone was shipped the next day and arrived on Friday. My granddaughter was thrilled. It was in mint condition as promised and is up and running. I would recommend Swappa (and have) to anyone looking for a phone. Not only was the seller great and responsive, but the Swappa team was as well.
If someone I know is looking to buy a used phone online, I'm no doubt going to be telling them about Swappa. To buy a used phone anywhere else would be a gamble. Swappa even encourages buyers to make sure that EVERYTHING works before submitting feedback. That's because the seller is held accountable for anything that isn't right with the phone. That's what makes Swappa different and that's why I'd use Swappa again. Great site.
My husband wanted to pay full price in store for a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6, $600. I found it on Swappa, mint condition, $294. Ordered it, and received it 2 days later! Item was as described, and I saved $300! Extremely satisfied, and always highly recommend SWAPPA to my friends!
I ordered a Galaxy S4 and it shipped with free 2-day Priority shipping and was exactly as described. Couldn't have gone any better.
I've used swappa a few times now, and it's all been a great pleasure. The pricing and steps to buy a phone (for both seller and buyer) are very well laid out, and makes the whole process a whole ton more trustworthy. Lots of statistics on the pricing and such, too. The staff are very hands-on to make the whole process very smooth, too, so thank you all.
Hassle free, good seller and site seems reliable
Received shipment as described
This is my first experience in using Swappa and it was great!
Things could not have gotten any easier or better.
I've never used Swappa before but I have used Ebay on my last phone purchase and it took much longer and was not the phone they advertised. It turned out ok but it was weeks before it was handled to my satisfaction.
This was fast and done in a professional way. I couldn't be happier... Thanks
While I appreciate the site for what it is - a place to buy an in-good-or-better-condition phone with verifiable pics and possible extras for a great price - I still find myself frustrated by the shopping aspect itself. A filter and sorting system would make it phenomenal. Imagine being able to sort based on price, or only looking at phones ranging from a certain price or based on ram or space total, etc.
It sucks being in the market for a "new" phone and having to sort through what's outdated, what's too pricey, what doesn't have this or that or whatever.
Bought my second phone on Swappa and like the first time, the selection was great and the price was fair.
I buy and sell multiple devices on swappa every year and have nothing but good things to say about them. Whenever I'm in the market for a new device, Swappa is where I first got. When selling, Swappa is where I ONLY go.
I felt pretty good about my purchase using swappa.com. I bought from a "trusted seller" so I was not expecting any nasty surprises. The phone I ordered was shipped quickly and the swappable team sent timely reminders for things I should do as a seller. Overall, a great experience.
I've bought a few things on this site in the past and have always been careful about what i pull the trigger on. Missed out on a few things but everything else that i have bought has been a smooth transition
I received the iPhone 6 just as it was described and quickly.
I printed the Swappa checklist just to confirm - good to go!
Appreciate the straightforward and helpful information.
Thanks!
Bought 2 phones through Swappa.
Swappa is basically a clearinghouse for mostly used phones through individuals. Better customer service than EBay.
Some things to consider: if you return phone and the person has no PayPal money you might not get your money back. If the phone you buy has clean IMEI now it may not be later causing you to have a locked phone and no recourse.
My second purchase went well.
My 1st purchase was the WORST. Breed products out of Miami. This company was selling under Moto 2 g label a new phone but it was a Moto g 1 in the picture, FRAUD. Hard to tell because its a black phone. Swappa did not catch this and I didn't either until after I ordered. Swappa did have the company take down the listing. Breed gave me a return authorization #. I asked for a refund & return shipping reimbursement. Breed did not want to refund my shipping until Swappa intervened. I DID NOT see in Swappa policies that a seller has to refund a buyer's return shipping for an error on the seller's part. Breed did finally refund ALL my money after several emails. The ONLY good thing about Breed is that they did response to emails.
I was going to go to Craigslist or Facebook for a Samsung Galaxy S7 but when I was doing research there was a lot of stories about people getting the short end of the stick. I decided not to put that much money at risk, so I looked into alternatives, which is how I found Swappa. I absolutely love the layers of protection you get against a bad sale (such as seller reviews both on Swappa and eBay, PayPal disputes) and the platform between seller and buyer to see the product and feel comfortable with their choice. The phone I got was in perfect shape, exactly as described with incredibly fast shipping. The seller even included extras like two cases and screen protectors, which are great quality.
I see absolutely no reason to get a new phone with a site like Swappa available. It was totally unblemished with all the original packaging. If being THE person to tear the little sticker on the side of the box in half is $150+ in importance to you, by all means buy a new phone.
But I'll just go stick with Swappa.
Swappa connected me with another amazing seller who worked with me on price, shipped same day priority 2 day, and provided the item exactly as described. Its rare to get this level of interaction from ebay transactions.
The phone I ordered was exactly as shown in pictures, and arrived on time... excellent quality and I'll definitely be back for future purchases
I'd been looking on Craigslist for the last few weeks for an iPhone. But the fear of buying a dude or getting robbed was on my mind... Found swappa by chance on a google search. Happy I did. They got something for everyone. Plus, they have the criteria that sellers have to meet before they can sell the phone removing the uncertainty you might get with shopping on craigslist. I'm not saying craigslist is bad, but I like the securer feeling shopping on swappa.
The process was easy. I was nervous, but its very simple for the buyer (me). The seller responded to my questions promptly. He sent the shipment timely. The product was as described and functions properly so far. So far so good! I asked a few questions to the staff and they responded. Thanks

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - help@swappa.com Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
