Swappa

I have been a Swappa user for a few years. After numerous transactions, both as a buyer and seller, I've had 1 problem that was handled quickly, honestly, and fairly. No junk, blacklisted phones, and with Paypal protection, you can't go wrong. If you ever got ripped off with a cell phone transaction Swappa will restore your faith in completing an honest transaction. Excellent site, and highly recommended. Give it a try. You won't be sorry.

Swappa got a simple user interface to make purchases and see listing of items to buy as well.
Another feature that I like is the drop price chart that they provide you can see what an item currently sell for, so you can negotiate prices.
You talk to the seller, seller replies and you get what you order usually within 5 business days.

The best part is they use pay pal and they insure your package.

I have bought 7 phones from them no complaints up until now.

Cheaper also than most every other place.

Swappa just works. I have used it on 3 separate occasions, each time with great success! The site creates an honest and friendly environment for bartering and negotiating fair deals for electronic devices (phones, tablets, etc) - whats cool is that you can negotiate with more than just currency - ie, trade devices, offer gift cards, etc (however I have always personally just paid $). It leaves both the buyer and seller happy. In my experience the item descriptions have been accurate and the communication has been top notch. Will continue to use for future purchases.

I bought 2 phones through Swappa recently - last year's model iPhone for my wife and an Android phone for myself that is about 4 years old. Swappa has a great platform to exclusively cater to the phone and tablet re-sale market. There are a lot of nice tools for narrowing down on the exact purchase you want to make and the details about the phone specs, model number, and condition are all very clearly identified.

This feels like it takes the best of e-bay (visible seller ratings, multiple small companies and individuals competing on an open market for used goods) and a traditional electronic retailer (organized categories, clear specs, simple and secure payment method, etc).

Like all sites or stores, they are only a place for sellers to congregate and sell. So really its only as good as the sellers using it, and of course, the crooked sellers will take up residence. Anywhere you spend your money its a crap shoot. No site or store can weed them out completely. My experience with my seller so far has been great. So I had no opportunity to deal with the resolution team at Swappa. That's what both sites and stores should be judged on. Which I do. No matter how hard someone tries, you can't legislate morals.

We've all had good and bad experiences on eBay and other sites, so it's a relief to come across a source of pre-owned cellular devices that minimizes risk to buyer and seller. I don't know why I had never tried Swappa; perhaps because the name sounds a bit silly. But the way it works is anything but silly. Very professionally run and after researching it thoroughly, I felt confident spending several hundred dollars on a phone. In fact, I did not know Swappa specialized in cell phones until I saw a commercial for it. Well done. Will shop here again.

Listed two different Samsung cell phones for sale and both sold within 2 days. I believe it was due to the listing/photo requirements of Swappa, which reassures the consumer that they are buying a product exactly as it is stated. The only thing that was not clear was how to best communicate with the buyer during or after the item sold/was received. While I did reach out through the site, there was no feedback so I assumed all was good.

Swappa provides great ways to communicate, pretty straightforward process, and makes it easy to shop for phones. I've used it to buy MANY phones, and have had great success. I will say that it seems you can get yourself into trouble selling if you don't have a Business PayPal account, after trying to help a friend (who made a Sale on Swappa) figure out his issues. Support helped him a bit, but it was a mess (since the buyer wanted to send payment immediately). I suggest more guided process for sellers, to make sure they have things lined up before they sell!

I purchase all of my devices via swappa now. Why pay full retail when perfectly good devices are here! Every purchase I have ever made has been perfect as well as every sell. The data swappa provides in tabular/graph form helps to a great deal when analyzing a purchase or getting ready for a sale. Swappa provides excellent filtering and sorting specific to these types of devices, and is very simple and straightforward to navigate. The only thing I'd like to see is a method to auto-purchase a new listing when it comes on and meets certain criteria you define... That would be an awesome added feature from a user perspective.

I really don't understand some people's bad reviews, but I respect them. I being Swappa user a couple of years and never had a negative experience. They check the IMEI, that's a tremendous difference in cell phone acquisition. In this platform you can ask directly to the seller for information and more pictures in the case you're not 100% sure of anything. If you use this tools properly it will protect you from having, as I said, "a bad surprise" when device arrive.
