I have bought two devices on Swappa. The site is easy to navigate and it rarely takes me more than a few minutes to zero in on exactly what I am looking for. Swappa appears to vet the devices on their site well. The two devices I bought were exactly as represented by the seller. I have found that the sellers vary greatly in attitude. Swappa's public interface makes it easy to figure out who the good guys are.
The site is easy to navigate, the prices and availability are competitive, and the way transactions are structured makes them much more dynamic than comparable experiences I've had on other used-mobile sites.
Simple process, easy to communicate with seller, good detail in photos/descriptions. Products arrived on time and in condition described. No surprises, unless something described as used was closer to Brand NEW condition.
At first I was a little leery of buying a phone via Swappa, but the experience was great as it turned out. Easy to browse, communicate, ask questions, and purchase. The Swappa staff were helpful, and the seller was honest and fast. Gotta love it - couldnt have asked for better. I will use Swappa in the future and will recommend to friends and family.
What can i say. At first i was skeptical about using this website but I'm so glad i did. The whole process was smooth. Swappa is a much cleaner, reliable website than ebay. The staff checks the numbers and you can be sure you're getting a reliable product.
Phone was as advertised, new with clear wrapper still installed. Seller shipped promptly and gave me a curtesy call once shipped. Thank you for a totally pleasing purchase experience and great phone! Two great purchases in three months. I will definately use Swappa again. I highly recommend Swappa!
I had my first experience with Swappa and I was NOT disappointed. I am very impressed with the website as well as the seller who delivered as promised. If I have to buy another phone, I will reuse Swappa.com again. Many thanks for creating such a great website.
Had a great experience with using this website! Phone was in mint condition. Easy to complete transaction and communicate with seller.
I recommend this site to anyone who consider purchasing used phone.
Grabbed a Nexus 6 from their site and they made sure it was verified as clean ESM and the buyer provided great photos. Arrived on time and overall satisfied with the Swappa staff as well as the seller. This site is great for buying unlocked phones and tablets!
Good place to buy tech items. I always buy my new phones from this website. You have the option of buying it in a variety of conditions, but I always buy in mint/new condition. It is worth checking out and comparing prices for things you are looking for.
When I made my purchase with swappa they was fast and responding to any of my questions or issues. I would recommend them to anyone! Great prices & loyal sellers with fast shipping. If you are looking for a dependable, loyal, and reasonable company then go with Swappa.
I bought a tablet for my brother, and the guy I bought it from was great, no complaints. Quick and easy.
However, I was selling my own tablet and it was purchased by a man who clearly had no comprehension of the English language, because I stated multiple times that I would not sell to buyers with an unconfirmed PayPal address. I had to do two refunds for this moron because he re-purchased it knowing his address was unconfirmed, and overdrafted my bank account $336, plus an overdraft fee.
The second buyer was perfect, but the bad thing about Swappa is there isn't really a way to clear your buyers before they purchase from you. There's security so buyers know sellers are genuine, but not so much the other way around. It's a great site and I highly recommend it, just beware of who your buyers are!
So, customer had two of my particular phone, same listing, same specs, same description. I got the phone in the mail with factory looking tape on the box to make it 'appear new in box' as described in the listing. However the phone had a lock pin on it that required contacting him to unlock it. Obviously it was used. He said oh sorry for the mix up I have two of these. I'm thinking they aren't new, and he just sells them that way and puts factory tape on it. Probably forgot to do a factory reset before sending it out. Both listings were the same as "NIB" which is not true, think he just made a mistake and got caught with that. Nothing swappa can do since these are individual seller but sucks there would be no way to verify NIB. I love swappa though, bought about 5 devices so far.
When we needed a new phone for the grandson, this was the place we were recommended to look. He wanted a decent phone but grandma didn't want to spend $800+. We found a iPhone 6s in great condition for an acceptable price. Phone arrived on time and was in the advertised condition. The 30-day money back guarantee added a level of security for us. We also bought the one-year insurance policy especially when we learned there were numerous repair shops in the area. I would definitely buy again.
I commented on a post of an iPad 7th gen sealed in box 32 gen WiFi for $335 instead of $329 brand new on apples website that I didn't understand why he was selling it for more. Then a staff, Heather K, told me that my comment was somehow inappropriate and removed it. That guy selling the iPad is scamming and she is letting them get away with it! That isn't normal!
I can't blame the marketplace for that. I appreciate Swappa's existence and like that there's some quality control and arbitration of disputes. I think they could do more to verify the phone details, such as in my case where I was sent a Verizon phone with permanently locked bootloader despite the vendor having stated it was a Tmobile phone. Overall I recommend Swappa for finding a good deal on a used phone.
This was my second Swappa purchase and both were very easy to do, excellent communication with the sellers (fast and willing) with the products being as advertised. Fast shipping too. I highly recommend Swappa and will use again as needed in the future.
Thank you,
The site is wonderful fast and easy. No problem what so ever and the phones are like brand new. The customer service is always there to help along the way always. I love how is PayPal so I know my money is secure nd the transaction is safe and if any problem it is covered. Will recommend to anyone looking for a cheap but like brand new phone. I love it.
I've used Swappa a few times and always had a great experience. The sellers are honest, the Swappa support is very helpful (should you rarely need them). Swappa makes it easy to find the phone or tablet you want.
I have used Swappa for several years and have had nothing but great experiences. They VET all the phones through their IMEI and ensure they are ready for sale. If an item isn't as advertised you are guaranteed satisfaction because they only accept PayPal. However, I've not had any issues.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
Swappa has a rating of 3.6 stars from 3,176 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Swappa most frequently mention great experience, new phone and mint condition. Swappa ranks 5th among Marketplace sites.
