Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Additionally, complaints about payment processing and discrepancies in product conditions highlight a need for improved communication and accountability. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

The phone was exactly as described. Shipping was only 3 days. This is my first time using Swappa.com and I'll definitely use them again for buying phones.
Took a couple of days to process, but went smoothly and timely after that. I was assured if any problems occurred that they would be fixed, but I didn't have any problem I, personally, needed to report. There was a tracking number from usps that i got to send me text message notifications of where my package was and when and where it got delivered. Phone is as promised. The packaging was kind of on the better side of qualities. I got the wrong charger, but I didn't bother notifying the seller because I have like 9 of the correct charger. Overrall, very happy. Would purchase from again!
I am very happy with Swappa. I was watching and bidding on Ebay for a couple of weeks and could not get the phone I wanted to fit my budget. Within 1 week I was able to get the phone I wanted at the price I could afford. Swappa price history helps you know you are in the right range, and the negotiation with the seller was straight forward.
Thanks for making a simple way to buy lightly used phones. I know I will be back again soon.
East transactions, people are fair with their prices
Swappa advertises as a "buyer friendly" environment. Go ahead and buy. Don't worry. If it ducks PayPal will refund you. That's great but what if you are the seller? You have the honor of footing the bill on all shipping both ways and taking a total loss to boot if the buyer claims your phone doesn't work as advertised.
Now here is where it all gets interesting. Swappa encourages sellers to protect themselves with insurance on the phones upon shipping (yet another added cost to sellers). When through buyer returns the "fraudulent device" or "broken device" or "irreparable device" the seller must provide the shipping label and pay insurance again, if desired, on the return of this now worthless product.
Will insurance pay for this?
Was it ever damaged to begin with?
Was the device altered or parts exchanged?
Who knows and how can it be proven? Long story short, this site could potentially facilitate buyer fraud and insurance scams. It may seem like a reach tout skeptics but if you have had a similar experience please share.
Thanks.
This site is great! I don't even bother anymore with other sites like eBay. Swappa does a great job in managing every sale. With my latest purchase, I ordered a used iPad 4 on Friday and received it Monday morning.
Very easy to buy here. Prices seem to be better than other sites. They take care to review and approve the phones, so scams are reduced. I was very happy with my recent transactin.
Phone came from seller as described and in timely manner. Would recommend Swappa to family and friends.
I bought a phone from them. It came real fast and looked almost new.
A co worker told me about Swappa while I was tossing around the idea of a new phone, though I didn't need one desperately, just yet. I bought a new phone with a contract, but didn't like it the way I love my droid mini. A couple of weeks later my droid took a dive from all the abuse I've put it through. Now desperate, I searched on Swappa but was a little late in buying one I saw that matched what I wanted, so I set up an alert to notify me when another was available. Within 48 hrs, I was notified of several, picked one, paid the low price, and less than 48 hours after that I was actually using it! I love it when a plan comes together!
All was perfect. The process, the communication, the product and the confidence all along that I was with honest people doing honest transaction. I strongly recommend Swappa.
Only took about 10 minutes to find and buy the phone. Will be going here again for electronics.
I, like many, am weary about using non-retail services to buy an iPhone. That anxiety is gone. The site is very easy to use: I got alerts when the Phone I was looking for came available, the item descriptions were detailed with pictures, and it was easy to negotiate a price. The phone I received works perfectly.
You can tell the people who run the site are serious about having a legitimate online market for phones. Thank you for helping me save money on a retail iphone!
I found it very easy to find what I wanted, and felt safer than buying off ebay.
I was a bit nervous using Swappa (I usually use a more popular site to buy and sell). But the price and condition of the phone was good, and the seller's previous feedback ratings made me more comfortable. The seller communicated within the same hour, arranged shipping that day, and provided a tracking #. Once received, the iPhone was in perfect condition and activated without a hitch.
Swappa offers a very nice and clear way to view the available phones, makes it easy to get in touch with the seller (to clarify details, etc, without purchasing) and keeps track of transaction until you are satisfied
Swappa is pretty awesome, the staff checks that the phones are reported as lost or stolen and you can return the phone if the seller was dishonest about something they claimed. You can ask the seller questions before you purchase. This makes shopping for a used phone much closer to buying used furniture than a used car. They also provide a higher level of information on the devices (eg exact model numbers and market trends). You can also set email alerts on devices you are interested in. This is really the best way to get a used phone nowadays.
Clean interface, responsive and positive interactions with seller, good payment options.
One of the easiest and fastest places to search for good deals of smartphones or tablets.
Great negotiation experience with fast response from sellers and a very great helpful staff watch and back up.
The best of it, is making the deals secured and safe.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
