I shopped the NEW IMPROVED SWAP SITE.
1. Pictures disappear
2. All previous documentation gone
3. Pictures no longer shareable
4.16 days to deliver
5.6 items missing
6. One item has a LARGE hole (crochet)
7. One item stinks REALLY bad
8. One item has a stain
9. Waiting for return response.
I was missing 6 items out of 17. I was sent 11. One had a hole - and was FINAL SALE. One item was really smelly. One item had a small stain. So, for a $100.00 cart with free shipping! I received 7 items in decent condition. ( out of 17) This! Is an all time low.
I want my RECORDS!
10 ITEMS WERE A BUST! 4/27/23
Great site. Massive selection of clothing. Made my first purchase and they don't spend a ton on packing. I like the items I bought... a fraction of the cost of thredup. Selling? They are backup about 2 months... but are up front with that. I plan on selling a ton of stuff I purged from my closet. I highly recommend them!
I absolutely love this site! Most of the things I have bought are listed new with tags, or good condition and have never been disappointed in the condition, or quality of the products I have received. Have gotten my husband dress clothes, tons of stuff for my baby, at SUCH a discount. I honestly Use this site all the time.
I have two young children and so going to the shops is tricky. So when I discovered swap.com, I was immediately excited to shop! I got everything I needed for summer and all the brands I love. Their quality filter is great, so you can choose the condition of the clothing. And the price is so affordable. It makes shopping easy and fun.
I've been a Steady Customer of Swap.com for about a year and a half now, all the items I've purchased have been of excellent quality, can't beat the prices... plus their Customer Services are top notch! I highly recommend Swap.com to anyone who wants to get the most out of their money!
Shipping was very fast; took less than a week to arrive. Items were BETTER than described! The packaging was very nice and my order was complete. I have spread the word to all my co-workers and they love it, too! I have zero complaints and will be shopping here again very soon!
I was first introduced to swap by an advertisement while on another website. I decided to try it out on my first visit to the site and I was so satisfied I have been hooked ever since. I remember too when I received an item that could not fit me but the return to swap was so easy and I was refunded quickly.
I ordered several items over two weeks ago, my order still state processing. There is a contact number listed, when I call I am hold for over hour, I am not able to reach a representative. How long do it take to get items is it weeks or months I am looking for answers since I am unable to reach anyone at swap.
Love all my finds here. I found a great pair of Lucy Yoga spa pants that are no longer in their stores and it was at a great price! I also ordered a few more tops and I was very pleased with the great style and quality of the items I received I am very very happy! I will be shopping here again, great find at a great ( steal) price.
Quality products, great prices, and fast shipping. Each item was indivisible wrapped & new with tags,& upscale items, which I can't not afford any longer, limited income, Swap has made me one happy customer, along with my husband, We will be shopping again.
Thank you so very much, Mre geri Hocott
I discovered Swap.com about two weeks ago. I've made 3 orders since then. I am a self proclaimed bargain hunter, yard sale goer, clearance shopper, consignment queen, so this was right up my alley. One thing I don't like is if an item doesn't fit or you aren't feeling it, and you want to return for STORE CREDIT, you are charged return shipping. I've used ThredUP too, and they offer free returns if you opt for store credit. Aside from that, I'm in love! As far as selling, it wouldn't be worth it. I can get more $$ for my clothing on the Facebook swap pages.
I am very disappointing with swap.com. I have had nothing but trouble with every aspect of it. First, I have only priced 8 items. I have not had any items added to price. Then when my payout finally came, you are taking over $8.00 for your fee and I am getting $2.35. It is not worth my trouble with this resale to bother with pricing and all the hassle I have dealt with. I am glad that you have so many happy people, but I am one unhappy person.
Just received my third order from swap.com and was thrilled wih the great deals again. Clothing is shipped neatly folded and wrapped in plastic packaging, just like buying new. Love the variety. Takes some patience to search throughly the site but have some searches saved so that I get email alerts when job s (sizes, characters, toys) that I am lookin for come in stock.
.. I think so. It's hard to find quality apparel at reasonable prices these days. I somehow somewhere saw an advertisement for Swap.com, an online consignment store. Really? I said to myself. Well, I checked it out and have fallen inlove all over again with thrifty shopping. I hope to get my Sister signed on, she's leary about purchasing without trying on first. But so far she's been impressed with each item I've bought. Btw, I've tried subscription sites for plus sizer, however, Swap.Com beats them all hands down, so far. With my limited monthly income, I look forward to purchasing at least two or three trendy pieces (A Girl's Gotta Look Good) to add to my closet. Would I recommend? ABSOLUTELY!
I've made 4 purchases now through swap.com and so far have been very impressed! I'm expecting my first child in 5 weeks. I purchased a waterproof crib mattress pad, nursing cover, and several clothing items for my little girl. I love that I can find 2 items bundled together for $3... can't beat that at my local thrift store. I do have to be careful with the sizing on the bundled items; it might be categorized as "9 months" but the onesie in 9 months and the pants are 12 months.
I was a bit skeptical about items labeled "good" condition since that rating isn't very objective, but each item I've received has been in fantastic condition. The only hiccup I've experienced is that they couldn't locate 1 of my items in their warehouse when they went to fill my order--but they were quick to email me about the problem and refund me that portion of my bill.
I've both sold items and purchased, and I have to say that I've yet to find even one thing that could be improved on! I was able to purchase a huge lot of clothes for my kids, a bunch of books and a few clothes for myself and the bill? Under $60! There is NOWHERE else that I could achieve that!
And when it comes time to sell, all I had to do was fill a box and print the shipping label! Swap.com even arranged a FedEx pickup for me - no extra charge. I love that I'm able to clean out a closet and ship it off with no additional time or effort spent on it! Swap.com does it all for me! I love it!
I have bought thousands of dollars worth form this company. They only accept half of what I send in( I worked as a retail merchandiser for 15 years). They take 6 weeks to upload your merchandise, they often place returned items on the Ship Items To Me portion of your account, prompting several e-mails to correct. There is not a phone number to contact a human voice. This morning I get a message I am restricted from sending things in. The merchandiser I believe is trying to do a competent job but has no formal experience, thus massive amounts of mistakes are made in accepting clothing and advertising correctly. This could have been a great concept. Tradesy and Thread up have been easier to deal with.
I understand the new pay structure. What I don't understand is the lack of transparency. My clothes were selling before they were listed. Some were. And I saw some items were listed higher than what they sold for. For example, a blouse was listed for 11.00 and I received 1.00. I wish I had a screen shot of the priced item before it sold. I think they made a mistake.
It might be better just to donate or take it to a consignment shop. I felt really uncomfortable this time around and I'm glad I kept some of my better items out of the box I sent.
The new pay structure is one thing but I don't even get to see all of my clothes before they sell. I feel like something goes on behind my back and it's just not good business.
I hope I can help someone. I read the reviews and some of the negatives turned out to be true.
Hello Krista,
We sincerely apologize you recently had some frustrations with your selling process. We have a very defined seller model and process, and want to make sure we fully review the details of your account to provide you an overview of what you may be seeing. I will reach out to you directly to see if I can obtain additional account information from you so we may look into your seller history.
Sincerely,
Jen - Swap.com
Do not waste your time here. I sent in a box of 1-2 year old clothes that were all clean (most from the dry cleaner), folded in tissue paper to protect them and packed in meticulous condition. They accepted roughly 1/3 of them and I asked the rejects to be shipped back to me. I got a box of clothes back where half of them were mine and half were someone elses and they were crammed into a plastic bag with no care for the items (forget folding) and I had to pay the cost of the shipping both ways. Of the items that they ended up listing, the cash value that you end up getting paid is less than 1/2 of what the item is listed for. In the end I did not get close to earning back what I paid in shipping and ended up with clothes that were not mine (and nothing close to the value of what I shipped to them)
Swap used to be a great company - great finds and prices, reasonably fast shipping, very fair return policies, etc. I don't know what happened, but over the latter half of 2021 their business crashed and burned. I ordered items on 1/13/22, and soon thereafter was told they were way behind on getting orders out. No worries. Then as they're about to ship I get an email stating that half my order was no longer available and they would get my refund to me "as soon as possible," but no date was given. Why did I have to wait 3 weeks to hear the items wouldn't be available? That's evidence of a completely broken inventory system. Tldr: It's likely you won't get what you ordered.
Answer: I have only placed one order so far. I ordered 10 blouses. I returned 5, due to size issues. All 10 blouses were nice, but 5 did not fit quite right due to different manufacturer's. You need to get an RMA # for returns. I was promptly refunded my money for the 5 blouses. I would order again in the future. I am not aware of any return quantity restrictions. Hope this helps.
Answer: If you want to sell clothes, all the information is on their website. Basically, they get a percentage and then they pay you thru an existing PayPal account that you set up.
Answer: Hi Patricia, We are on about a 55-60 day delay in processing inbound shipments. When your items are processed, you will be notified via email that they are ready to be priced. Have you sent an email to our support team at assistance@swap.com yet? A member of our team can look up your account information and give you a better idea of exact when you can expect to see your items. Thank you, Lauren Swap.com Support Manager
Answer: Same here, I sent a box in June and have received nothing nothing saying it was accepted or rejected absolutely nothing. I've sent 5 emails and nothing. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
Answer: I don't think so. I've sold and from my experience it varies. The things that I thought would sell first, haven't sold yet. It varies by what people are looking for at the time. I've bought all different seasons at random times. I buy by what's a great deal. When selling, group like items together. I've noticed multiple things sell first.
Answer: Hi Jo, That is correct. You can return items that do not fit as long as you request the return within 30 days. We will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back your return free of charge. Once the return is received, we will refund your card within five (5) business days. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at assistance@swap.com. We are happy to help! Best, Matt
Answer: There's no way for them to go over prices. They have to see the items and determine from going over it, if it's acceptable, once it's accepted, then you have to determine the price you want to sell it for. You could try searching on their site for similar items and see what they are priced at. I did notice when pricing my items that I'd get a little notice with recommended prices, which was very helpful. I didn't have a good experience selling but many others have. Make sure you take pictures of your items, that's very important. I appreciated that their site is set up to allow you to take back your items if you changed your mind about selling them. I'm in the process of getting back my items. Hopefully it works out well and I get all my items back.
