Submitted my review of this worthless site Apr 2018... this morning... Aug 16 2018 I see they have replied to my review and offered the regular BS about a refund, etc. Yet when I called and complained months ago they were of NO help. They are truly a waste of time and money.
I contacted several owners who said the properties were rented out or sold months to over a year ago. I needed a 3 month rental and found a few of them, but when I spoke with the owners who actually had these places, they were all 12 month leases. The worst part was when I was speaking with another owner who showed me their property was nothing like the one on the Sublet app and website. The app/website showed a beautiful home with a 2 car garage and pool but the real home was a shack with no pool or garage at all.
I will stop payment on my credit card for their service. and u should too.
Taking advantage of everyone. Tricks you to sign up and u can not even email when u list. Should I go on. I emailed them and no response.
Hi Tammy, I'm sorry the service didn't meet your expectations. Please contact us at support@sublet.com so we can resolve your dispute. I'm not sure if you're a landlord or tenant but its free to sign up in both cases, free to post, and free to contact listings that say "free" -- our only interest is in helping you find a place or rent a place out. I hope you contact us so we can resolve things to your satisfaction.
I listed on Sublet.com at the recommendation of my property manager when I was looking for someone to take over my lease. It was a complete waste of time. After getting spammed with daily emails about all the hits I was getting and how I needed to upgrade my account, I finally bit the bullet and paid $40 to upgrade to premium (useless) and upgrade my listing so prospective tenants could contact me. As soon as I paid for the upgrade, the emails from Sublet.com stopped immediately. It's been weeks of radio silence now and not a single hit. Hmm, wonder what happened to all those "leads" they told me I had before?
I wrote this email to the CEO of sublet.com today:
Mr. Howard,
I understand that I am only one person who will perhaps net your business a couple dozen dollars, but I thought you should become aware of the fact that some of your employees may think that my money does not add up to the success of your business.
I've used your services before and I have paid for your services before. I just reposted a new room for rent on your website and called your number to "upgrade". There was no one to answer and I left a voicemail.
Someone from India called me and I, with a former Cyber Security background, refuse to provide my credit card info to anyone who initiates a call to me.
Making this potentially long story shorter, I was transferred to a "supervisor" in NJ. Still concerned with giving out my credit card, I asked a couple questions to that supervisor, such as "where is your company headquartered". That supervisor then told me that she would not spend time with me on the phone for $20 because there were clients paying you thousands of dollars to advertise.
I wonder if this is how you feel your employees should help your potential clients.
I was not aware of this user review of your company.
We have been looking for a four-month rental in the Scottsdale, Phoenix area. Sublet.com has properties listed that have been rented out for weeks. The site needs to take down listings in a timely manner so they don't waste people's time after tapping them for $15.
Sublet.com kept sending me some "potential" hit on my rental listing, but no contacts from any potential tenants. Then, they encourage me to pay for the premium membership and promise better coverage and marketing... no leads at all. For NYC, still use streeteasy.com, this will not bring you any renters.
I have posted my property on Sublet.com. I have had contact with 1 possible tenant so I believe the site is real. It is annoying paying the fees, but on other websites like HomeAway.com there are also fees. So I guess it makes sense. I wish they would answer their phone so I could be trusted, or at least offer operating hours so I could know when to call.
Summary, I think it's a real site just a small community. I will contiue to use this as one of my many outlets to try and rent out my property.
Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate the feedback! We apologize if you called over the weekend and were not able to get in touch with us for a trusted call. Please feel free to call us anytime this week between 9-7 EST. Hope to hear from you soon!
Diane at Sublet.com returned my calls and she followed up with my complaints. She did a good job to maintain future relations so I will post rental properties with them again.in future.
I had several scammers contact me on Sublet.com - many of them professional scammers and total time wasters. I reported all back to sublet.com and I was told management would call me back soon. I'm not holding my breathe. If you want frustration then list on their site. Their communications are horrible. I was foolish to pay for "premium" listing and basicly they didn't care at all about my experience. LANDLORDS beware. They used to be so good - what happened to them is a crying shame.
Joined this website to post an apartment I own for rent. The website is really easy to use, I could contact tenants really easily using the mail center, I also bought the upgraded service, the tenant database, so I could contact all of the users on the site that were looking for an apartment in my area and that's how I ended up finding a tenant. The listing was easy to post, I could add all the info I wanted, as well as post pictures. I was able to do a credit check and background check on prospective tenants through the website, and they were more affordable than other services I've used in the past. SO happy with my new tenants and I plan on using sublet.com again when they move out. A+ website!
Hi James, thank you for your valuable comments about the service we offer. It really outlined the experience of a landlord very well!
I used sublet.com last week to find a short term rental. I was a little confused about paying but it was that much so I did. Create a profile and let it sit for a day too. Landlords began contacting me in an hour. I found a place in a week after seeing it worked well for me.
Dear Ted,
Great to see that you successfully found a rental! I hope you have a great time there.

I recently accepted an internship for the summer and needed a room for rent while I was staying in NYC. Sublet.com had a lot of listings in the financial district so I created an account and started contacting landlords. A couple days later I met up with my new roommate for a viewing and signed a short-term lease. I was really lucky to have found sublet.com, it made it really easy to find a place!
Thank you for your review Jessica! We're glad our service helped you!
They are a complete joke. They allow property management companies to change your account to their name so they can advertise their properties. When you try to call, they never answer. They do not respond to emails or voicemails. You'll have better results through Craigslist.
We absolutely do not allow property managers to change your account information without permission from the owner of the account. We are a smaller business and operate between the hours of 10am and 4pm EST, and always respond to the best of our ability. We would be happy to help resolve whatever situation there was with your property manager, just give us a call or send us an email, or give us a number to call back.
Thanks for making the already difficult and expensive process of searching for apartment rentals even more difficult and expensive. Absolute WORST. Find other ways of generating revenue.
They show you amazing properties for a cheap price, but you cannot message the person until you sign up. After signing up, you are told you can't message until you pay.
I stayed in one of the listings they had on their site, and wrote a review detailing the shabby furniture, varying price structure, and the fact that it wasn't cleaned. The review was edited and my words were changed. I got email after email about other listings, but each time I called about one of them, of course the one I saw wasn't available. That happened over and over.
All customer reviews are investigated by our team and made to appear with only factual information with no attached emotion. We want our users to have only concise, factual information.
There are much better ways to find sublets. Nearly all of the posts that *you* will find on Sublet.com are nonexistant. They'll never respond no matter how many you message. Most likely because they're culled from other websites. But potential subletters will contact you. The unfortunate thing is that you don't want to go to those subletters.
Hi Frank, we're sorry to hear the service did not meet your expectations. Sublet.com is a platform for tenants and landlords to connect. There are nearly 50k listings. Most are organic and people post themselves independently. We do have some partnerships that are initiated to maximize the number of rentals a prospective tenant has available to view. We always encourage landlords to reply, even if their rental is no longer available (in which case we remove it from the search results). If you would like to send us a Private message or contact us at customer support we can inquire on your behalf with landlords that were nonresponsive. Best of luck and let us know if we can help. - J
I mean the title says it all. Why would you make tenants pay for searches. It is not a very enticing business to work with.
We contracted the service of tenants looking in our area and our apartment was rented out within 3 days. Great job Sublet.com
Hi Jan,
Thanks so much! I'm glad the service worked well for you!

This website is a complete waste of time and money. Craigslist is an upgrade but I recommend you try Flip Lease. If I could give less than one star, I would.
In response to Sublet.com: My experience was that I paid $40 for absolutely nothing and wasted my time creating a post, searching tenants, sending emails and correspondence with absolutely no results. And this is in NYC.
Please do not use this service. You will regret it. You will get MUCH BETTER results using FREE Websites like Flip Lease or even Craigslist.
Also- they do not give refunds or free trials. DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THE RESPONSES HERE FROM THE COMPANY.
Hi Christy. Can I ask you what issues you had with our website? We love customer feedback and are always looking for ways to improve. We're happy to give you free trials of our services if it might help.
Answer: Hi Patti, Could you explain what you mean by monitoring for short term renting? Mostly we expect our users to appropriately put the times their listing is available as a courtesy to the tenants on the website and will contact them if something seems wrong. Our monthly fees for landlords are $20 for Premium Listing, $20 for Tenant Database per month. Note that these are optional and listings can be free. Full tenant access costs $15 for 3 months. -Jamie
Answer: Yes, however keep in mind that you may need to verify your account with us.
Answer: Hello Karen, sublet.com connects the landlord and tenants, but we don't control anything beyond that. Ideally, you will have a contract written and agreed to and there will be explicit clauses on cancelation. Sometimes, if a tenant needs to cancel, they can sublease it to another. Sometimes the landlord forbids that. It all depends. Hope that clears some things up.
Answer: Hello WL, thank you for your interest in posting your room for rent to Sublet.com. Please create a landlord account and post your rental as a room for rent. Email us at support@sublet.com to receive a free premium listing so even more prospective roommates can connect with you (just reference sitejabber in your email!) Thank you

Answer: Hi Jenny, thank you for showing interest in Sublet.com for your rental needs. You can sign up for a free account on our website, create a profile, and search rentals that match your criteria. It's that simple! Send messages to landlords, make phone calls, and find a rental that meets your needs.
Answer: Hi Patrick, sublet.com does not own or post the rentals on our website, but acts as a platform to facilitate the rental process. Every landlord will have different criteria for the tenants they hope to have lease their rentals. I can say from experience that many customers have been able to find very understanding landlords, who don't require a credit check. There is even a filter on our rental search pages where you can filter out landlords who would require a credit check! I hope this helps, and good luck in your search.
Answer: Hi Sylvia, we share your concern with listings being posted by landlords that go on to find rentals and never archive their listing. That is why we continuously contact landlords to inquire about the status of their rental. We ask landlords to archive their rental when it is no longer available, and if we know for certain it is no longer available, can archive it for them. Our process has been fine-tuned over the years to put in front of you rentals that are actively on the market. If you should ever run into this problem, contact us through our support mail or phone number and we will inquire further on your behalf. New listings are posted every day, and most landlords can be accessed by email or by phone. The single purpose of our site is to facilitate the rental process, making it faster and more convenient for tenants and landlords alike. We hope you will consider our website for your rental needs.
