Booked a trip for Travel in late March 2020. COVID came along... All flights were cancelled. The news said Lufthansa Airlines is giving refunds. I called Student Universe they said nope that is not true. Hmmm OK... Lufthansa is giving voucher for future travel by the end of June 2020. In June called Student Universe, still no refunds (per airline policy), but the voucher got extended to Dec 2020. Hmmm... Ok. December is coming so I called Lufthansa this time. Lufthansa says refunds have been allowed on my ticket for quite a while. Told me refund had to come from Student Universe. Fine.
Called Student Universe. Again they tell me no refund is allowed (per airline policy). I call them out. Told them I spoke with Lufthansa and I am able to get a refund and offer to conference in Lufthansa. I get put on hold... Customer Service comes back and says i can get a refund but there is a $40 per ticket charge. Whatever I just want my money. A few hours later i get an email saying they have an additional $20 charge on the refund. What the!@#$... Why was I not told? Seriously this is a rip off and I am not seeing this in the fine print of our contract. Now I have to go deal with these guys again.
I have worked with other travel companies and have had to cancel trips without all this crap. Just stay away.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. They have horrible customer service and are an awful company. The airlines cancelled my flight and StudentUniverse is charging an absurd "cancellation fee" and not issuing a refund and they are claiming it is because of COVID. So I am stuck abroad having to buy a second ticket so I can get home.

It was easy to book the flight and I appreciated being able to find something less expensive!
Tickets were $58 for each of the tickets I purchased yet the charges were $68 a piece and nowhere does it say there would be an extra $10 upcharge for booking through your website.
Booking certain seats and the confirmation process was a little confusing. However, I still have hope that I made a right decision booking with student universe.
I had a great experience booking my flight with Student Universe. I was able to get home from Europe at a very low cost. Definitely would recommend using Student Universe!

I liked how streamlined the ticket purchase was. It would help if when purchasing the baggage lost insurance, there is a confirmation when you click it.
It's lengthy but I have received continued poor service attempting to gain a refund over a two year period, they act as an agent until something goes wrong and attempt to pass all responsibilities, this company is part of the flight centre group in Australia which has had complaints and ACCC involvement over recent times, scamming customer fees etc, I am in the process of going through NSW Fair Trading to attempt some resolution.

I was skeptical at first but it seemed all legit. It was my first time using this platform
I'd like to warn other Australian travelers about this "service". Went in to my usual student travel agency (use em whenever I travel, normally the best price and reliable service) and asked them to price beat studentuniverse, the agent said they can't beat it because the fare isn't available and student universe was showing "old fares". It was about $120 difference so I thought maaaybe the agent was trying to make a huge commission or something. Thought I was being smart, went home and booked online with SU straight away. 'lo and behold! Still no e-ticket or confirmation 24hrs later, called to find out the fare doesn't exist anymore and is now $250 more! Money has been deducted from my account but could take weeks to refund, so I either have to pay up the difference or wait for a refund and by then the flights could be way more. Lesson learned, either book direct with the airline or with a physical agent who are actually accountable for s**t like this, quite frankly in hindsight I would've preferred to pay $120 in commission and have a trustworthy company handles thousands of dollars worth of travel plans. Lesson Learned.

The whole process took me about 40 mins, website heavily overloaded due to the collab with amazon prime. But 25 for a round flight def worth waiting for 40mins

StudentUniverse offers the best prices from any other website that I visited for any of my trips! The only thing I would improve is the baggage price information, as it is rarely available.

However, some budget airlines do not have the info available right away; you may need to go to the airlines' pages to find out. I wish the know this site earlier. Uncomplicated speedy and right price booking. I was not able to find a better priced ticket.
It was good but the fact of not having the seats and baggage confirmed upon payment was a little bit confusing. At the end, I had to reserve the seats on my own with the company
I'm new to this but it was very easy to work. It was really great getting notifications of when prices of a certain flight dropped. Even when it's last minute flights, the prices are still low.
