Fake company.
You win the auction and they invent that there was another bid, they don't explain where or how!
You have a print of the canvas that won the auction but they choose who they want to sell to
Final bid $100.00 (Mine)
When I made there were 8 bids with this 9
And according to the customer service someone else won for $125
This is scam
First off, you have to realize that StorageTreasures doesn't run the storage facilities and it's often not their fault when a unit is pulled from auction. One thing I -have- noticed is how many times auctions end for exactly my highest bid. As a buyer on ebay for over 20 years this is pretty suspicious but hey, maybe just coincidence. And the amount of auctions cancelled due to paperwork issues or being settled is getting a little crazy. Seems like the storage facilities are just too eager to list the units before making sure they can be sold. Take this one for example... had one yesterday that I won, was charged for, but then got a phone call saying they messed up the paperwork and they had to send a new certified letter to the occupant before they could sell the unit & it would have to be relisted. Magically it was back up for auction two days later. That's some fast paperwork and mail service! Or did it just not end for enough... hmm...
I actually love storage treasures it's some of the facilities that's the problem "cube smart #0697" will auction rooms and then come up with a reason you can't get the room after you won my advise be cautious when bidden on their rooms
Thank you for reaching out on behalf of Storage Treasures. However, I will not reply via private message because your company has already been called several times about our account. I tried to resolve the problems before posting a negative review. I didn't ask for anything that would result in a cost to Storage Treasures or the Seller. Unfortunately, Storage Treasures rep was unprofessional and basically said "tough luck". Not a great way to treat the customer :(
Too many issues to list, from the conflicting terms and conditions (see David R. Review - spot on), terms required of the Seller that Storage Treasures does not hold them to, my auction account and invoice stating a 10% buyers premium but being charged 15%, and more.
This company claims to simply be a conduit between buyer and seller, but does not behave as a neutral third-party. They do not seem to be interested in making things right with me as a buyer. I have NEVER had such a negative experience with a company. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.
Under his name but because he has the same address they banned me. After speaking with customer service they informed me there was nothing I can do and that I am banned permanently. Like how unfair is that. This company needs shut down. For real
Although it's expected to some degree that the online site would favor the facility over the bidder, the people making decisions on elevated issues are not qualified or seriously lack the means necessary to examine an entire case & piece together an objective conclusion... it's always a quick bird's eye glance & decision. Seriously hope the facilities go back to live auctions, they don't need a middle man cutting into the profit.
Unlike auctionspear.com, which is one site where people auction off items, many of them gotten from storage units they have purchased, Storage Treasures does not assign numbers to or show individual bidders. You could be bidding against one person, many people or the storage place the unit is located at. Lets face it, this is a buyer beware type of business.
Some units are more profitable than others.
It might help if there were a few traps out there for locations that cheat buyers.
And, maybe, there needs to be a site where storage locations can be reported on by those who buy storage units and sell their contents. It might improve honesty.
If you have a problem or concern with a particular location, start by reporting them to Strorage Treasures.
I won an auction and arrived at the facility within 10 minutes of the end of the auction.
I was advised that the property manager has allowed the owner of the unit to keep it. I contacted Storage Treasures to discover this could happen. I was asked if the person had paid for their unit, I assumed yes because I would not know. I was refunded my fees and yet that same facility has placed that same unit up for auction a total of 3 times. It is on the site now. I was originally the winning bidder and I was confused as to why I was not offered this unit after the apparent default by the owner. Seems like a sketchy way to do business not only for this particular storage facility but Storage Treasures allowed this to happen.
I give them a five. The picture shows you most of what you getting. You got to have a the eye. I've purchased over 20 and hadn't been dissatisfied yet. Most of the staff at the storages are great. I had only one problem and thats oxford mississippi terrible customer service.
I showed up to get my unit and it wasn't what was in the picture. My next one I stood outside and waited for a manager to let me in the unit and come find out she has closed and left the facility. Cut me back a day then they blamed me because I couldn't make it to my other unit. Then another unit I really wanted they let me win it just to take it back once I win a unit it should be mine.
My experience with Storage Treasures was great while gas and volume was high. However, over the last few months, I accepted 2nd chance offers, only to be told the bin was settled by the previous owner, or in the last case@ PS, "someone cleaned out the bin the day before and they would call and cancel the bid...I get a refund for the %15 fee. Never happened. Chat live, no response so far. Just go away kid, you bother me. What can you do? Demand to see the bin? I'm thinking this can happen with any bin at anytime...and the facility rep. Can literally shoo you off with impunity, as complaining to PS of ST.is difficult and they know this. John Q. The customer has no rights, or recourse. It's a gamble,
Didn't have any issues with the website. Everything was easy to follow and well explained. The storage facilities however stage items and don't provide a complete picture of the unit. The more photos the better including the floor. You can usually tell if its been rummaged through. You also can't smell the unit and photos sometimes don't show mice crap. Lesson learned. Attend live auctions only and view them cutting off the lock. Most listed on this site have already been gone through. I'm sure some are legit but your going off a photo of a unit someone has opened. Too much risk. As far as the site. It worked just know what your risk is.
The only thing I don't like is when it gives us specific time for ending the auction if your bidding back and forth with someone they keep changing the time up another 5 minutes which I don't think is fair that's just them trying to get the most money possible. I've been using storage auctions for about two and a half years now I've one about 8 to 10 storage units and I've always had a positive outcome! I've never encountered any problems with any of the storage units that I've showed up at. If you like to bid units online I highly recommend using storage treasures.com
My husband and father in law buy units online. On more than one occasion were high bidders on a unit, drive miles to pay and pick up only to find out that the unit size was advertised incorrectly. Recently, they drove over 5 hours to pick up two units, arrived to find out that a 10*15 was only a 10*10. If you know units, that extra 5 feet is a lot when it comes to purchasing. Tried resolving at the place of business and no resolution. I then called storage treasures and they stated that because the place of business offered them 50 dollars off, and they refused, they would not refund our deposit. Gas money, deposit, not to mention the time away from his business for a wasted trip. If you are winning make sure you call to verify the size of your unit before you drive. False advertising!
Hi Rachael,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please send me a Private Message with the Auction ID/Invoice ID. I will be happy to review what happened here. It sounds like this was not handled to the best of our ability and we apologize that this occurred.
Please let me know any additional details in your Private Message.
Regards,
The "new and improved" version is far from that. It's harder to navigate and you can't see the auctions you've bid on once they have ended. If I hit the back button it works once. Look at a second unit, hit the back button, and it goes back to the national page. Start all over every two units. Other small auction sites are much more user friendly.
Have buying for the last 3 years from storagetreasures & battles. I have nothing but praise for this company. Sure I have had issues that were out of their control, but they addressed it and took care of me. I always recommend them to everyone. Good treasure hunting y'all.
The first time my auction was cancelled because the facility I've used had a restriction for their tenants to sell their stuff.
After moving to another location, my auction was cancelled for having 2 accounts with them. The third time, just because they felt like it i guess. No explanation.
All of my auctions were posted as a private seller. I believe that they don't want anyone selling their stuff here. Very disappointed.
Worse experience ever.
Won a storage unit online, the unit was paid for by the original Tennant the morning of the auction, spoke with storage treasures about it, customer service rep promised to call back before the end of business to schedule my refund, that call never happened, have left 2 messages as well as 2 emails, no one will respond, no money has been returned to me. Customer service is horrible, and I pay a monthly subscription fee to this company. Absolutely horrible way to do business. I understand it takes time to issue a refund, but it doesn't take a lot of effort to take a customer's phone call or return a message to reassure them. Will be letting everyone I know that bids online here to beware. Please use this company with caution.
I was winning an auction by about half of my max bid. 10 seconds before the auction was to end, 3 days were added to the time. There is no logical reason for the auction to be extended like that except they were not happy with the amount the auction was ending at. This is not how auctions work and is probably not even legal.
A call to both storage treasures and the facility (who both talked to each other before giving me an answer) ended up with an excuse that made no sense based on the fact that the auction continued for 3 more days and I was finally outbid.
I was told the tenant was a long time tenant and they wanted to give her more time. If this is true, why put it up in the first place? Why not pull the auction and restart it later? Too many shady things can and do happen with online storage auctions like shill bidding, rummaging through lockers, and now adding days to the auction until they get what they want. Back to live in person auctions for me.
Horrible website. They false advertise storage auctions that don't exist and waste hard working peoples time and money! Drove 2 hours to the closest city for multiple live auctions that did not exist. Extremely frustrating.
Answer: Plase be careful this unit are from people who already purchased units took what's good then resale what's not worth to them.

Answer: Hi Tasha, We are sorry to hear about your struggles. I recommend asking the storage facility to pass your contact information to the winning bidder of the auction. It will be up to the winner to decide to contact if they want to discuss returning of some items.
