Never again

The only thing that's great about Stop and Shop in Peekskill is there is not too many customers witch does make faster shopping. The bad news is they are one of the most expensive grocery stores. The staff is rude. Their produce is not fresh. Amazon is so much better for most things. Go to Shop Rite for all your produce and meet. Shop Rite is a much better value than Stop and Shop. Shop Rite is a mutch newer store and they have a lot more choices to choose from. If you can't get it on Amazon go to Shop Rite.

On 2/19/25 I bought chuck roast which was on sale for 6.99 lb I did not pay attention when I was checking out but later when I got home I realized that the sale price did not ring up so on Friday I called and spoke to someone and they told me to come in with my receipt they would honer it so I went there and when I showed them my receipt and the picture of the package I was told by a manager there is no way they know what was on sale the week before he was very rude and I'm sure all he had to do was look on the computer it would of come up very disappointed with how I was treated

Rude cashiers

Trash! This place do not honor your points that you have earned! Today I was on the phone with Stop and Shop for 45 minutes and nothing was solved. My account was hacked by East 174th Street employees from the Bronx, they opened or gained access to my account and started using my points. My account has been down since June 2024 and several calls made did not amount to nothing! Instacart is also trash, ever since they canceled delivery with Stop and Shop trucks, Instacart has failed! They are using any old Joe to pick up and drop off your groceries, and they go through your groceries and take what they want.

Kalyn Meyer often put customers on hold for too long. She was rude and unhelpful. Poor communication. Maybe your employee does have a bad attitude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's embarrassing. Rick Newton, this man has no business being a manager or supervisor of any kind and any place! He is rude, ignorant, not patient, and lacks compassion. He has no business working with human beings. Tends to target people who are by themselves.

I just received raspberries and seafood salad in my order the seafood salad was weighed and then they put wrap around it and reweight it so they charged more and my raspberries are moldy and mushy actually disgusting.

1) charge me for bags. Claim its for the environment but bags break before I get to the car which adds trash to the environment and leaves a mess for the customer to pick up 2) Externalize your labor costs onto the customer. I do not work for stop and shop so why are you forcing me to check out and bag my own groceries. By the way, your competition does not make me do either of these things and they offer help to me to the car and place them in the car. 3) not participating in any cash back programs. Store noted above participates in UPSIDE which gives me 15% back on my spending. I usually spend 15,000 a year on groceries so that 15 percent adds up to a lot of money for me. 4) 3 dollars for 1 muffin? Are you kidding me? Your pricing is that of a high-end grocery store but your actual stores are lower-end. You compete with Stew Leonards, Market 32, Whole Foods, Price Chopper which all do it better than you do. That wasn't always the case. I used to spend my whole food budget at your store now I look around and say anywhere but there. 5) your gas gimmick. Your gas prices are 10 to 20 cents higher than the surrounding gas stations so offering gas points to reduce the cost isn't much help if the gas is higher to begin with.

I have no choice but to shop at Stop & Shop in Berlin, CT. They have monopolized grocery shopping in my town. They constantly raise the prices every week which are way more exorbitant than any other store. The workers have poor attitudes. No one ever bags. Shelves are still empty. Generic items with lower prices are mostly empty forcing you to buy the more expensive items. Several times, their bakery items are marked with one price and then they ring up at a higher price. The digital coupons have to go. They implemented them only to make it more difficult to use and discourage people, only for S&S to pad their profits. Using the card should be enough! I'm retired and on a fixed income and hate shopping there. Unfortunately, unless I drive to another town, there are no other choices. Stop and Shop should be ashamed of themselves, as they are a perfect example of corporate greed!

This crap makes me go up the road to Price Chopper/Market 32. Just using my card isn't enough anymore... You have to load "Digital Coupons"... Couldn't tell you the amount of meat I've placed on the counter for being expired already...

I shopped at stop &shop for years and now have gone to Market Basket, their prices are better, service is better, they usually have air their registers open and have bundle boys, unlike s&s who may have 1 or 2 open. They have no meat cutters anymore, there prices are high they charge for bags, there carriages are either dirty or have bad wheels, their digital coupons are a pain, it is no surprise they are closing stores. They were a great chain years ago when they were family owned, every supermarket chain Ahold owns falls way down the bottom of supermarket industry. I think maybe they should take some lessons from Market Basket if they want to be around much longer, most people I know are no longer shopping at S&S, wake up before its to late.

No cashiers on duty

The Granby, CT Stop & Shop has been on a continuous down hill slide since the day it opened. The latest - no cashiers on duty at 9:00 pm, Tuesday March 12. I don't need to be taking someone's job away by self-checking out and packing my own bags. And if Stop & Shop is going to require that of me at least give me a meaningful discount. The greed of Stop and Shop is overwhelming.

Rib Eye steak
March 10, 2024

I bought a ribeye steak today, which is my favorite and I prepared it the way I usually do which is salting both sides for several hours before searing in my the cast-iron skillet. This was the toughest piece of meat I have had all year. Totally dissatisfied. Waste of money and a waste of time. Shame on you.

Stop and Shop's delivery was never great, but since switching to Instacart, it is downright terrible. It never arrives in the delivery window. Today's delivery was to be between 9am and 10am. I called at 10:30 only to be told there was no driver available. They blamed it on Instacart. Sorry. Not buying it. Now I have to sit around and wait for an order that was already packed and is sitting somewhere while the cold food goes bad.

Stop and Shop's website had the time slot. I chose it. That's a contract. They do not get to blame their subcontractor.

Switching to Shop Rite.

Sunday on 8/28/22 I went shopping thinking during the peak of pandemic times were rough. This time I thought differently. Yes, missing items, which whatever. I bought a loaf of garlic bread for which I cooked tonight. Like the instructions, 350 for 7-9 minutes. I opened it up spotted with mold. Thank you Stop & Shop. You've sucked like the rest. Sad state of affairs. Buyer beware

Every bag I or my 14 yr old son has popped the whole outside of bag and microwave were completely covered in hot butter. My son burned himself. So very disappointed in this product, that was recommend to me.

My number one supermarket

I have shopped at Stop and Shop for 40 years and never have I had a problem with anything. The shelves are always stocked with fresh food. Deli meats are awesome as well as produce. The associates are helpful in assisting me when I need to locate an item or can't reach an item. The prices are great as well as receiving Go Rewards which have helped immensely towards gas. And last but not least awesome food sales. You are and always will be my number one go to market. Thank you Stop and Shop.
