So I am in the market for a lounge and popped in to Scott Berkowitz - they have good quality furniture, and found what I was looking for, the regular show room price was $5300 but during their sale it was only $4300 a great saving on normal price you would think. Of course like any intelligent person I looked around for the exact same piece and found it at a store on the other side of Melbourne, I asked for a quote and was amazed to be quoted $3,600!
I asked the sales person to double check and he confirmed that it was $3,600, my comment to him was that I was surprised as I was expecting the lounge to be much more, but he replied it was a fair price which they regularly sold this piece for.
So if you are looking at Berkowitz for furniture (or indeed at any retailer) my advice is search around, I am sure most of the exact same items can be sourced from alternative shops for much less, its just some places have much higher overheads with all their advertising - which you pay for!
Charges a 300% "express fee" for same day printing... even if the the print shop isn't busy... just because its a way to make more money.
--------------------------------
Me: I'd like to get a color print made
Staples: When do you need it?
Me: End of biz today... that's 5.5 hours from now
Staples: We will have to charge you 3 times as much for the job because its an express order
Me: Do you have other printing work that will take the entire day to print?
Staples: No. It just our policy.
Me: But I just did a printing job at Staples 3 months ago and they did it same day and didn't charge me an express fee.
Staples: It's our policy.
Me: It's your policy to triple your price if a client wants same day turn around in an empty print shop?
Staples: Yep. It's our policy
Me: Here's my policy. Goodbye.
Terrible service. I tried to talk with them about the defective product I bought from them and the first thing they asked was how long ago did I buy the product from them. Before I could answer them they interrupted me and said because if it was more then 14 days they will not give me a refund. I wasn't looking for a refund but just an exchange. After telling them this they sent me to 4 different departments until I got tired of wasting my time and finally hung up on them. Which appears to have been their goal. They kept my $$ bucks and I have a product doesn't that doesn't work. I have severed all ties with staples.
The vast array of quality products can't be beaten. Printer paper can always be purchased at very low prices. Custom printing at my local Staples is high quality at affordable prices. Great customer service.
This folks are pretty great to work with. They will try and help you with any problem you may encounter while trying to place your order. And they are constantly adding coupons for you to save extra money. I like Staples a bunch.
I ordered products. And I found another shopper's order sheet in my box. There is her Name, Address, Phone number and order details.
I reported this issue to Staples. But they did not care about this matter. They said it is regular matter.
I stopped in Staples late one evening, about 1/2 hr before closing time. I knew it was late but had just a few questions about how to download some PDFs to the Staples site for printing. Stacia helped me with the file, helped me choose the correct paper and printed a sample of what the item would look like. She helped me with other items I wanted to download and print. Although the store was closing soon I never felt like I was being rushed along. I offered to come back the next day so she could close up but she said not to worry, we could finish the project that night.
Very nice girl, very knowable, very patient. EXCELLENT customer service.
I bought an item from staples because they promised to deliver the next day! And it was urgent for me, I received an email that the shipping was delay for the very next day. The next day I received another email that the shipping was delayed for 4 days!
I called the customer service they said the delivery is out of our hands and we can't do thing about it.
Definitely I won't buy from them anymore
What a bad service with a bad management
A very poor customer services. The kids that are behind the counter has not skill to talk to customer z they don't even look at your eyes when they talk to you or answer a question. So sad. No manners.
When I walk into staples these days, it's like the store is closed. Nobody is there. The store provides a good service, expensive compared to alternate options which is why they stores are likely deserted these days.
May is the assistant manager at the West 125 Street store.
He was professional and personable in helping resolve a problem-9.1.23.
Kudos May!
May deserves a promotion and a raise!
The general staff needs to be re-trained!
Thank-you, Deborah Kops
The poor ecosystem with websphere commerce is going to cost the company dear some day. So many broken link. Doesn't work good on mobiles. Frequent order cancellations. Hours of wait for customer service. All in all. In for failure. Amazon is going to swallow this given the poor IT they have..
Purchased an HP printer. Didn't work 2 weeks after purchase. Store told me to deal with HP direct. They offered me refurbished unit to replace the defective unit I bought. I will never buy from Staples again. Stay away. I buy from Costco. 90 day guuantee on everything
Bought a calculator on January 8,2022 for $11.00. Forgot that I had it, and tried to return it on February 24. It was unopened, in the original bag with the receipt and I was told that it was a "tech" item and they could not take it back after 14 days. An $11.00 hand calculator is a tech item!
When I walked out of Staples I k ew I would never return.
I returned 13 ink cartridges for credit on my rewards. The associates told me 3 different stories as to when I should get these rewards. I was supposed to be contacted monthly through Staples Rewards via email showing my reward points. I never got the credit for my 13 ink cartridges even after making the required ink purchase. What a waste!
Because their computer techie Ray is so good, I decided to replace my dying old computer with a new one from Staples. They were very good about keeping to my budget -- but failed to install Microsoft Office, even though we agreed which plan I needed and what it cost. I even ordered a new printer. When everything arrived (2 days late; Ray was sick): no Microsoft Office. It's now the following week and I can't access my attachments. Business is floundering, they keep projecting "it'll be Monday for sure" and it isn't, now it's Thursday for sure. I should have gone to my reliable small business Jeff at Unistar in Toronto who'd have had everything running by now. If this isn't operational Thursday, I'm returning everything and avoiding these big companies in future. Staples doesn't answer their phones or return messages, and now they're not answering my emails either. Not happy at all.
Holy moly. Good luck if you ever receive damaged product. I received my product on May 25th. I was told it would take 3-5 business days (as stated in one of the picture below) It's June 14th and no one has come by yet and no refund for a $70 product (yea my boss isn't pleased.) The box, as you can see, was being held by plastic ties. Completely ripped on all sides with damaged product inside. I wouldn't be such an unhappy camper if they gave me more than "someone will be by Friday" (see reference below.) I've been told this at least 3 times now. I will say the product was delivered surprisingly fast, but everything after that was awful.
I walked into the Staples store on Elliot Rd. In Tempe, AZ and placed an order for a return address stamp. The clerk who took my order seemed to be in a hurry to leave, but I finally completed the order placement with the help of another associate. I requested and received printed documentation of my order on October 21,2019. On October 28,2019, I called the store and inquired about when I could expect to receive it. The manager of the store told me my order had never been placed and that she could reorder the address stamp for me but that it would take another week for me to receive it. I tried calling the corporate headquarter offices but it was impossible to speak with a human being about my problem. The phones are all robotic. AVOID STAPLES! It isn't worth the hassle or inconvenience.
I went into the Albany, OR store to make copies from a USB drive. Not only did the copy machine keep canceling the print, the young girl who worked there said,"well, I can't do anything about it" She then proceeded to go back to sucking on her sucker hanging out of her mouth and ignored me. This is the 2nd time trying to make copies on machines that don't work. Same feckless girl both times. Never again!
I placed two orders on Sept 8. Staples has said they delivered them three times. NOT to my address. I have asked repeatedly for a credit since I have NOT received the orders. Of course, their tracking says it was delivered. I WILL NEVER order from them again. Odd, Amazon delivered the toner ink in two days to the correct address.
Answer: Good service at their brick and mortar store, now good service online
