3 weeks after making a purchase, charging my card (accepting my payment), they reach out and tell me the price went up on the cables I paid for. Doubled in price from $89.99 to $179.98 and they are demanding I pay the difference after they accepted payment for the cables.

Battery Tray Misrepresented

The battery tray was advertised as an exact reproduction tray. It is not. What was delivered was not what was pictured. Mounting holes do not line up to the radiator shroud and the tray area that would hold down the battery hits high on the inner wheel well and will not mount to it.

Not the right part

I ordered key locks for my 1974 Camaro. There are two versions of keys, long and short shaft cylinders. I needed short shaft cylinders which I thought I found at SS396. The picture matched short shaft cylinders, however, I called and spoke to a representative to verify since the description on the website did not indicate. The representative advised they were short shaft cylinders. I purchased them and when they arrived they were long shaft cylinders which is not what I was advised. I called to inquire about returning which they did provide an RMA #, but I was told I needed pay for shipping. I had to pay $25 to return a product that they told me was correct. This was very disappointing. I thought they would have more integrity than what I experienced. Very disappointed as I have heard good things about this company and I was looking forward to buying many more products from them for my build. I am not sure about this anymore.

Junk chinese parts
October 2, 2024

Ordered complete wiper motor with pump received cheap chinese motor with pump separately which required modification just to bolt on cninese motor which had electrical conn in wrong position which they are aware of as it is stated in their catalog. Well the cheap chinese motor did not work cost me 30.00 additional dollars for return shipping they would not accept modified pump for return even though they made the decision to send that junk without even notifying me. Meanwhile customer is waiting

We apologize for the issues with part AWM-4169K. While we strive to source the highest quality products, in some instances, we are forced to use new suppliers due to supply chain issues. This is mentioned in our company policies under product availability.

We are also sorry we cannot offer a full refund or replacement for the defective unit because the part was returned in a different condition than it was sent (i.e., damaged or cut). However, as a gesture of goodwill due to the inconvenience of being unable to supply a replacement, we will provide a partial refund. We appreciate your understanding and bringing this product issue to our attention.

Trunk paint match

Nobody carries the specific Black with gray speck trunk paint that is stock for my 68 Chevelle that I purchased from Ground Up. Most retailers carry gray / white or black /aqua. It's all about the detail. Thank you!

Parts don't fit my car aka wrong parts.
Return is a pain in the a**.
No help from ss396 so called leader in that business.
Do yourself a favor and order somewhere else.

Phenomenal company

SS396 is an awesome company. Easy ordering, great customer service and great products. I have made several orders and ordering, confirmation, fulfilment and shipping notification are always quick and precise. Fedex on the other hand was a cluster, delayed attempted delivery said noone was available ( no signature was needed) called customer service and was told it was delayed, getting to Concord, this happened twice. How can a delivery be attempted if it hasn't arrived at the terminal(twice)? Finally arrived 4 days late.
SS396 great company!
Fedex not so much.

I ordered package shelf fir 1966 chevelle. Did not come even close to fitting. I can't return it because I covered it to match the new interior. O could check fit because the car is at at different location. I wa assuming SS396 would not make a mistake like that on some so simple.so now wth shipping and cost to replace fabric and travel time I'm out for over 100 bucks on $12 dollar item. Not happy with them.

Seat belt quality

As I am packaged my $500 seatbelts out of the box the center push button emblem is not even in position where it should be. They are stuck in all different directions and places on the seatbelt, terrible quality control. How are we going to resolve this issue and make it right.?
