DONT DO IT

Who needs to look up 100 people per month unless you have mental problems. I wanted to look up one address and was in turn secretly charged without authorization or notification twice more for $30 per
Month. Even though the last charge was yesterday they refused to refund me more than $11. Just a gross company! Don't even try them.

I was curious to see the validity of Spokeo, so I ran a report on myself. The report was replete with wrong information. Each report costs $19.95 which is a complete waste of money.

Not worth your time.

I purchased Spokeo using 7 day free trial.
Searched 1 time. Results were inaccurate.
To cancel the free trial, you must click on this click on that which redirects to another page.
Nevertheless forgetting about the free trial. On day 8 card was charged $24.98. Sent a email they gave back $9.98. I called customer service she gave non refundable speech then I gave a I had a dream speech. She said she could give back an additional 5 dollars. So in all they cave back $14.98 and kept 10. I mean the results were completely off. But you kept $10. No all monies should have been returned. Service no longer used other than the initial search. IT'S A SCAM!

I threw away about $35 trying to access an ex-girlfriends social media to see if she may have been chatting with someone other than me
Or cheating on me. What i got for about $35 was nothing more than a past and present address, i already looked that up for free on the internet. Total rip-off. What a scam, i wish i had been smart enough to recognize the difference between a B. S. ad/rip-off,
And a legitimate information service. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes.

I agree with the others, this site is a total scam! Do not use! I will be fighting the charges through my credit card company. They do not deliver what is promised, second day I went to get saved searches all the information I needed and had the 1st day was fee access only, they want more of my money than the initial 14.94 for 3 months to unlock everything, including address now. I'm usually not a sucker but this time they got me.

Paid before finding no results

I searched an email address. Looked promising since the spokeo site came back and asked for $0.97
Not a huge cost, so OK. Paid my fee and then found out there were no results. Seems like a scam. Tell people there are no results before you bilk them for a buck. $1 is not that big of a deal, but if you defraud 1 million people for a buck, it becomes real money. Change your damn policy to reveal at least the count of the results before asking for money. SMH

Spokeo Spectacular

There are many sites that one can join in to do background searches. This site not only proved to provide excellent background information, but the reason I'm writing this review was a young lady named Brianna in customer service, it went out of her way to clear up some charges give me some credits. Outstanding customer service by far has surpassed any type of customer service I've experienced from the website, and that is why I'm here writing this review … trepidation, I recommend this to family members and anybody you asked about the website for background review

Facebook and social network users beware: Spokeo seems to have taken advantage of Facebook's lax privacy default settings by scraping personal information and displaying it publicly. This includes your location, education, credit estimate, wealth estimate, age, ethnicity and so on. You can have your information removed by going here: http://www.spokeo.com/privacy (seems to be a big ad for Reputation Defender...)

I wish I had read the reviews on Spokeo before I signed up with them. A lot of people had terrible experiences which are similar to mind. I only used the service for 9 min but did not find any useful information on someone. They have"100% Guarantee. If we don't have results for this search we will gladly issue a refund." posted on the payment page to make you feel safe. When I called to cancel and request the refund, the customer service told me that it is guarantee only for the first attempt. Please do not use their service. It is not worthy. Your review will help others learn about this website.

This is not a trick, but merely to prevent abuse of the policy. We like to think of it like eating at a restaurant; if you are unhappy with a meal after one bite, you will most likely get a refund, but the more you eat decreases your potential return. It's a scam

Never use this service for the $0.95 they advertise that give only the street number. No phone, no confirmation of address NOTHING EXCEPT the information that you can find out more by paying $19.95 which (after being scammed once) only a fool would do. So do you want to avoid a "bad experience?" then stay away from this site.

I wanted to look up a caller that had called me. I looked on their site. Paid what I thought was a 1 time fee. Told me it was a mobile number, and gave me no additional information. 7 days later, surprise! Hit with a $30 bill. I cancelled and asked for a refund as I did not see the fine print. They refused the refund, 3 hours after they charged my account. They use PayPal because guess what? You can't start a chargeback with PayPal and they know it. Super shady business practices and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Crooks and Cons
October 30, 2020

Crooked company. They hook you in with a "free trial" but what you're really getting is them automatically enrolling you in a yearly subscription and charging your card monthly without ever sending a billing statement. So you don't look at your statement for a month or two because you haven't charged anything. However, Spokeo has been charging you and will not refund your money, even though they can see that you have not been using the service. Not only that, but the person I originally looked up using their "free trial?" None of the information provided by Spokeo was worthwhile.

This site can't even provide accurate White Page information. The social media accounts were incorrect and the address and employment info was 14 years old. Don't waste your time or money. It isn't even worth the 98 cent preview.

I abandoned Truthfinder when I found out that they had been hacked. I read good reviews about Spokeo, and they were cheaper, so I thought I would try a free trial. Well, Spokeo seemed to be very accurate with middle names and initials, so I was encouraged. But so many of the addresses were so out of date on people's information, compared to what I knew in real time, that I decided that Spokeo was not going to work for me, anyway. Does anyone know of a site that is more solid with accurate information that doesn't cost an arm and a leg...?

DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I went on the sight to use it for free, but discovered it did not give very good info, so I decided to pay for it to get the info that they were not displaying. I check on some of my friends to discover their information was 6 months to over a year old. How is this reliable? The next day I asked to cancel my subscription and they are offering me $11.00 of my 23.00 payment back. Stay away from this sight. I usually check reviews, but failed to do this and am now sorry for that. Do not use them!

I'm sorry if you were under the wrong impression and hope to assist you in whatever way possible.

We also organize the information so that it makes sense for you, as a user. However, machine aggregation has its limits. Since there is no human involved, the data is not verified and might not be accurate. Moreover, many sources do not refresh their data often. Our Terms of Use states clearly that we are a Search Engine, and do not create, maintain or modify any of the information you see. For this reason, we cannot guarantee full or accurate information for every name, phone number, email address or username you search for, as the results vary so much from person to person. Spokeo's data reflects that of the original sources, and our engineers are working hard on new algorithms to improve our data accuracy. The refund amount you may have been offered is based on several factors, one of which is how many searches have been performed and will reflect on that amount. Inaccurate information

When they first started you could have your information deleted. I requested that and it was. I was surprised to find myself back on Spokeo this year with incredibly inaccurate information. They have apparently combined mine with some other person of the same name. I'm thinking of legal action if this crap is not removed.

Spokeo aggregates publicly available information from phone books, social networks, marketing surveys, real estate listings, business websites, and other public sources (“Public Information”). This Public Information may be made available to users through the Spokeo.com people search.

Once a specific profile is suppressed from public display in our system, it is flagged to not re-appear. However, we are constantly receiving new and updated information, and we try very hard to match it to existing listings in order to preserve your privacy preference. A new listing may appear, however, when the data is not able to be linked to a previously-suppressed profile. Should this happen, I ask that you contact Spokeo as soon as possible so we can assist in suppressing this new information.

Should you wish to remove your information from Spokeo you can do so any time by calling Customer Care at 888-906-0850, or by emailing Privacy@spokeo.com and providing the URL, or listings for removal.

Terrible site that failed in every search I did. They only refunded a small amount of what I paid because I did 3 searches which were all a dead end with no results. I wish I'd read the reviews before I signed up. Do not bother with this site, it's completely useless.

DO NOT sign up for Spokeo. Like many here, I wish I had checked the reviews before I impulsively signed up. The web page clearly showed $3.99 for 6 months. However, when I signed up, they charged my account $23.70 and are now trying to tell me that I misunderstood the stated price. If I did misunderstand it, it was because Spokeo deliberately mislead me.

This site is dishonest and engages in fraudulent business practices.

Because this provides you access for the full term, the average cost is $3.95 per month, which is the amount you may have been confused with. To make this even more prominent for our payers, we include this information as part of the disclaimer which has to be agreed to before the purchase is processed.
