Never order online! Their site has 0 functional ways to contact them about fixing an order their system put in wrong. It has no way to get to the Live Chat function without finding where it's buried. When you do find it, there's never anyone available to actually talk to you. They will not help you.
Spirit Halloween is big when it comes to customer satisfaction. Especially greeting and thanking people for going in.
Went to visit the Spirit Halloween location in Williamsburg and I wasnt greeted by anyone. I even said hello to one of the employees and she just looked at me, rolled her eyes and walked to an aisle. Also tried saying hi to the guy that was behind the register but no response from him, either. Not once did I hear a Welcome to Spirit Halloween while I was in there. A handful of people had walked in and out. These employees need better training or attitudes. It makes people feel like they are a bother or their business isnt important! One other man shopping with his kids mentioned how he ended assistance and wasnt able to get it. My friends and I wont be coming back!
I came in here and I always come each year, they change the location over 5 times, this lady named jeanna was beyond disrespectful, Las time we came to this establishment they said when we come back because we spent over 1000, that we will get 50 off next year, just use your tele number or email address when asked she didnt know about any of this well I ask this rep and she said yeah well we don't know and refuse to ask her manager for help or anything. You can buy the same thing online or at another place I'm going to return it and go else where never shopping here again. Customer service needs to be better

I ordered on Oct. 18,2022 my son's Halloween costume. Paid extra to get it 2 day Shipping. Come around the 21st and I didn't receive it. Called customer service and the lady was rude. Telling me that thats just how they're system works. I asked for a refund she said no. Its now the 23rd and the package is still not here. Why offer faster shipping if you can't get there on time. First and last time I order from them.

Terrible experience with staff not only are their fitting rooms closed which we all can understand due to covid but what if the costume you bought doesn't fit you?

It is so easy to take other people's money with zero accountability for this company. Bought from store on Brook Rd, in Glen Allen, a strobe light of theirs two days before Halloween. Attempted to use item on Halloween night and found out that it was defective. Took the light back to the store the very next day to get refund or credit and we were told that their exchange deadline was actually a few days before Halloween and they couldn't take their own bad product back. Ridiculous! They sell defective items and hide behind unfair policies to avoid responsibility. I will never buy anything from them again.

Spirit Halloween used to put out great merchandise, but these days it's turned into nothing more than crap. I purchase from them a lot, but that will stop from here on out. I own over 150 animatronics. More than 75 came from spirit. 5 items that I bought last year and used in halloween night only no longer work. And they say they are out of replacement parts. 3 of the items I ordered this year have quit working. One was delivered broken. Save yourself some despair and order from companies that care about their customers and the products.

As a former employee customers need to know that no cleaning or sanitizing happens in this store. Not even in the bathroom or employee work areas. This worries me as with the covid and delta variant out there. I feel we have a responsibility to keep customers and employees safe. I would hate to see anyone get sick be of this. In spite of employees begging the DM Nathan Porter and manager Sarah to fix the issues. The company refuses to do anything. Then there's the issue of Sarah's temper even becoming violent and screaming in the face of employees. Yet it was unprovoked and unnecessary. Management refuses to address this also. We are constantly having costumes returned as pieces are missing from the bags.
Purchased a Adult Hooded Robe, and Fog Machine. Fog machine is insufferably loud, and fog output is dismal. Buyer beware I guess.
Hooded Robe only contained the hood. No Robe. I pulled from the back of the rack, but someone must have stolen it.
Reviews led me to believe CS would be useless, and getting in touch with an agent on the phone was difficult, and some emails went unanswered for a while, but in the end they sent me the product in full in less than a month. (I'm in Canada FWIW)
I ordered my daughter's costume on October 7th and still have not received my order. I received an email saying it had shipped but tracking says it was never picked up. I waited patiently and still nothing. I called customer service and after repeatedly calling and choosing every single option, was promptly hung up after the automated service claimed a representative would be with me shortly. All I want is a refund and I can't even get hold of anyone to talk to. What kind of business model is that?

Ordered 6 days ago and still haven't gotten products. Paid extra for 3 days shipping. Holloween is tomorrow and no costumes for kids. Customer service is terrible. Waited over 30 mins twice and got hung up on. Never going to order from them ever!
What a bunch of crap. I payed and extra shipping fee to have it sent over night (I ordered on 10/25) and it STILL hasn't came! WHAT a waste paying an additional price for overnight shipping if it doesn't even arrive during normal shipping business days. What a rip off. Definitely not shipping here again.

I can't speak for the Spirit Halloween locations that pop up all over during the months of September & October. However, the online Spirit Halloween is a nightmare at best. I ordered a costume & accessories on a Wed & paid for over night shipping. I recieved them eight days later. It is impossible to get a customer service rep on the phone unless you have a solid 40 minutes to spare, especially during Oct. As far as my refund goes, it was short $23.00 & I took into account a discount coupon & my shipping. This will be yet another battle to resolve so I will most likely eat the loss. Never again!
Employees were rude and lazy- just sitting at the checkout. Parts of store smelled like smoke as if someone was smoking in the building. Couldn't find an actual product that was made in the US. Mechanical props broke easy.

Spirit Halloween is by far the worst Halloween costume store EVER. If you order near Halloween then they'll charge you an extra $20 for shipping, which I guess is fair, but then the costume ends up coming in on Halloween day or after! It's ridiculous. Their costumes aren't even that good! I've also heard their return policy is horrible, which I don't find surprising. This store needs to get their priorities straight if they're going to charge so much for shipping. They need to guarantee that it will be in on time, but they don't. Just go to Party City, it's much easier and they have better policies. I'm shocked at how they run their business.

DO NOT buy ONLINE from this company! They let you pre-order costumes, but do not fulfill the order. Only buy from a local Spirit Halloween store. An employee in the store told me last year that they make sure the merch they advertise is in the store, and don't honor online orders, it's their modus operandi. I don't understand doing business like that, but this company doesn't care. Go figure?

I ordered a costume for my daughter, and it was supposedly delivered by Fed Ex. I never received the package, so I called Spirit Halloween's customer service #. The first rep told me that I would have to file a police report for a stolen package before I could get a refund. I called again hoping to talk to someone with more sense. The second person said they could send a replacement. I told him the costume was no longer in stock in my daughter's size and that I wanted a refund. For the second time, he said he would have a replacement sent. I told him he wasn't listening to me and he hung up on me. Save your money and stick to Amazon! If I could give them 0 stars I would. What a way to ruin someone's Halloween.

I have bought several animitroncs from Spirit Halloween. They have progressively gotten cheaper. This year I bought a Mr. Howel and he did not cycle correctly and the mouth did not move. After not being able to reach anyone and waiting a half an hour (30 min.) to talk to tech support, I was told to take a video and email them that is how I may get some help. Before I could say anything I was hung up on.
I really hate to say it but I will not recommend them and highly suggest just staying away.
I spent 2 hours in a line up to buy 4 of the electronic people. I was one of the first people to get in only to be told each box i wanted was already sold, Strange seems I was one of the first people inside, then on the way out a worker was adding up about 5 cart loads of costumes only a few moments after the store open. Just wow guest they let people in last night and sold everything they could. Being a disabled veteran it was hard enough to wait outside but to get in and then be told sold, sold Every year for the past 4 years i have spent over 3 grand each year in the after sales.
This will be my last time shopping here ever and I will make sure others know what the stores do.

During Peak Season phone lines can be a little busy and we can be experiencing long hold times. However, we do have representatives that are on Live Chat and emails. Wait time is low during our off season and there is a 1-2 min hold time at this time.
