All reviews are are either 5 stars or 1 star? My experience with this company was negative. In my opinion, these 5 star ratings are false. Again my opinion. For every 1 star rating they get it is offset by a FAKE 5 star rating.
I hired them. I gave them cash. (BIG RED FLAG). They did not show up at the appointment. Then, they wanted more money after I reached out about the missed appointment. I asked for my money back. They said no. TOTAL SHAKE DOWN.
Have been told three different pick up dates amd times. All have been changed with nothing for them to say but, "it's California." I'm trying to schedule my chemo session around all this bull$#*! lies. All I want is to hear from the actual movers when they will be here.

To start, this isn't a moving company, it's a brokerage. They sell your move. After charging big money to make a bid firm, they don't stop the actual movers from ignoring that and extorting more cash out of you. There's NO COVERAGE for damage regardless of what they tell you. They will jerk you around, send you to several different claim companies, none of which are actually insurance companies and none of which can get you paid. This is before the actual movers also screw you over in this fashion. Suing in Florida is a waste, you'll never collect. Put these crooks out of business. They disassembled my $2700 refrigerator for NO Reason (it comes out of the house without this) AND then lost half the parts and left it in pieces in my basement. This is now a total loss. I figure I'm out easily $14K between overcharges, damage, and lost items.
Southern Guarantee will attract customers by giving less price quote. Once you agreed, they will divide the total amount into 3 portion and will ask you to pay the 1st portion. Once you paid, then that's it you are locked. On the pickup day they will charge way higher than the initial quote (2nd portion), if you ask why they will talk all these technical terms like weight, cubic feet, etc. Also they will start indicating the terms and conditions in the binding contract which you will not have any idea. Eventually you will end up paying more. During drop-off they will charge (3rd portion) for shuttle truck, and the distance between the truck and your home is more than 75 feet and many other rules and will charge you more. In my case the quote given for $2600 and I finally end up paying $5500. Another attracting they say is free insurance for $*******, don't think you can claim anything from them. Save your money by renting the truck by yourself and hire people for pack, load and unload.
Company sent wrong size truck after being 2 days late and has someone elses $#*! still on it. Pos truck and company. Wouldnt trust them. Northwestern moving is junk company. Wont give me my money back and wanted 4,000 more to get my family home. They are still in texas. No electric and a toddler. Thanx $#*!s
They are a brokerage, not a moving company. They sold our job to another company. And they kept our furniture for one month. And when we finally got it, it was all wet and moldy. Also by the time we got our furniture the price had tripled.
The gentleman were 3 hours late but they were super professional and took time wrapping my furniture. It was a good deal and I got connected to Ben James and he took great care of me on my move across country! I mean ya an ikea end table was broken and a lamp was bent, but i expect that in 3000 miles as ive moved many times. Overall the gentlemen were good guys from sales to crew. It took my items 21 days but I was in no rush and for just over 2000 I cant complain 1 bit! I am a mortgage lender and I would recommend these gentlemen to any of my friends and or family.

At delivery, one month later, the crew just dumped my furniture and left. Nothing was set up as stated in the contract.

Great moving company! We used them to move a heavy piece of furniture that was more severe and complicated than initially estimated. Movers responded quickly, kept in touch, and moved it even when it might have seemed impossible (at least to me!). Many thanks!
Southern Guarantee Moving and Storage has taken good care of my stored possessions over the last ten months. They were delivered to my new place in great shape. I am so happy we decided to store them here with these wonderful people who demonstrate they care about other people's things.
Quoted $2300. They subcontracted out my move to Pack Master Movers (criminals) from Jersey City. They arrive for pickup with 2 hours notice on the wrong day. Price changed to $5225. Deposit non refundable. Forced to pay using Zelle, which took 4 days due to transfer limits. Delayed delivery 8 days. Delivered by a THIRD company with NO NAME and $3000 worth of belongings stolen. Zero stars.
They will contract a small unprofessional company like "WE pack Valines" that company is arrogant and rude. They will charge you almost double upon arrival, or threaten to cancel your delivery. They lost and broke half of my stuff. After contacting them via Email, I received a call from Mr. Anthony, explained the situation and was suppose to hear back from him. Never called back.
They will rip you off! If I could give a negative review I would. I had negotiated a rate if 2050. When I was called for inventory review, I was told the rep had not written estimate correctly. I had to pay an additional 450. Now the total bill is over $650 from my original estimate. I contacted the rep I had negotiated with who said do t worry I'll fix it. That was 3 days ago and haven't heard from him after multiple texts! RIP OFF COMPANY! No choice but to use as truck-is coming today but save yourself some heartache and $ and use someone else! Reps are arrogant and useless. They could care less about customers and promises that were made! Steer you wrong and in a crunch where you have to move you sign off then they use that against you.
Quoted us $4,500 and a move time of 3 days. Took our required $1800 deposit. They call a couple days later and say it's now $8,100. They now have $3500 from us non refundable. The movers show up today and say it will take up to 21 days to deliver. That won't work, we sent them off and am now trying to scramble a reserve our own moving truck. They lie and their reviews online must be fake. Worst company ever see you in court.

The selling person was very nice and friendly. After this point, the experience went south.
When they arrived, right away they were trying to increase the estimate price on 55% the day I needed to move out, and after I refused they didn't take half of my stuff. I needed to get rid of my mattress, Nice office chair, office table and figure out how to deliver 15 boxes to my destination.
No one answered me from the company carrier service phone. All you can do is just hope for the best. Please don't choose this company for your own sake.
We would like to start a class action suite against this fraudulent company. They are straight dirty! We were quoted 8000.00 and they demanded 3500.00 of the bay. The movers came and didn't look at our belongings and told us it was going to be triple that. Laughed in our face when I told them we would go to court. DO NOT USE THIS BROKER!

They use a high pressure tactics. They quoted me low sent a contract that did not have all my its listed. I called to have items included and they were closing. Hurry hurry price is only good today I sent the required deposit and shocker my rate went significantly with the original items. I hired Southern Guarantee to help with my move at the end of July. They assured me they would be there on Friday. I got an email that they subcontracted me out to We Pack Van Lines who didn't show up till Sunday. We Pack demanded more money and were unprofessional at best. I called to complain to Southern and they said take it up with the carrier. I have been promised delivery several times but no one shows up. It is now the middle of September.
BEWARE OF DISHONEST ESTIMATE.
I have a very standard one bedroom apartment set of belongings. The initial estimate call for a one bedroom apartment was done. Around $2500 was quoted. The agent continually down played needing an EXACT accuracy. Turns out they did things like quote for a bed frame and not also the mattress. Or a standard couch despite being told it was L shaped. He even said "this can be an estimate, they just don't like to find out about a pool table or something like that!"
Fast forward to the week of the move. The agent called for an exact inventory, almost scolding me for not declaring a few lamps or picture frame on the wall and how unhappy the movers would be if things like a few lamps were not declared ahead of time. Very standard items. My estimate nearly DOUBLED. It is now $4,465, I had to put down an additional 1000 deposit.
