Walmart's online shopping somehow got me into this which I didn't know I'd signed up for. Found charge while viewing my bank statement and it seems I've been billed 4 times for NOTHING. I don't dare go to walmart online to look for this sneaky link lest I accidentally sign up again.
I emailed my rebate 12/29/17 with necessary information proof of purchase. Once i was charged i cancelled membership since i am unable to use service. I dont use the small amount of stores listed. I contacted customer service twice: cancel and check on status 2/24/18. Both time i was told cancellation of membership dont affect cashback where is it then. 8wks later when i received an email confirming receipt of rebate and to give 3-6wks. Customer service rep and manager claim they have nothing from me and unable to see emails. Make up your mind which lie is it?
The company makes their money by scamming people. The small amount they charge goes unnoticeable to many. If you use this and knowingly use it then great. For me and so many others they have scammed us.

I became a member last month but I didn't receive the $10 cashback for the first purchase. I submitted the purchase receipt but there is no response to my emails.
Thankfully I ended my membership within the free trial... and called my CC company so they couldn't charge me membership fees. (This took half an hour on the phone with the fraud department.) Wouldn't you know it, my CC company called saying they had tried to deduct $12.97 from my card anyway! Thieves! I wouldn't be surprised if they attempted to charge me next month as well.
They increased to $12.97 for the membership! Everyone who has been swindled out of $10 a month from ShopSmarter, count yourselves lucky! Anyone who hasn't fallen for it yet, DON'T!

I wrote a complaint here in Feb, but now I received the cash back that I am supposed to, 10$ opening reward and 80$ cash back for my MacBook. I don't know whether they just pay 2 months later or my complaint worked, but finally have to say thanks to shopsmarter.

They offer 10 dollars for a sign-up of 1.97. Who wouldn't do that. After they charge you the 1.97 they let you know they won't send the 10 dollars until after the first month that they take 10 from you. I'm guessing even if i kept the service they would not pay out more than they brought in. That's how business works.

I signed up like others on the this reveiw site, with the understanding that there would be no fee for this service. SURPRISE. I got charged twice now for something I have not even used. To call them and cancel this service is impossible. They are not very honest. They will say that it is in their terms but it is so buried and obscure, one will never realize it until the charge shows up on your account. I refuse to use this complicated process of rebate. I will never get my money out of it. I am retired and not a big on buying a lot of things. GET OUT QUICK Or NEVER SIGN UP

Yep was scammed again by shop smarter. Do not yet know how though but i encourage all who lost money to shop smarter scam to google search how to make complaint to federal trade commision. Siple online complaint form take 5-10 minutes to fill out. Big brother will track scammers down. Hhaahahahahaha
Was supposed toget 15$ back on here was pending checked today and nothing and didn't go to paypal. Shopped through them at Walmart to earn 10% back didn't get that either.
Do not sign up. It is a scam. They will send you invalid cheques and tell you to cash them. Sent an enguiry and they only told me, we sent you your cheque, now cash it. The bank said no. Listen to the reviews and don't sign up.

Alright so I just went to my bank account and noticed this "fee" about some shopsmart site I had never heard of. I checked and apparently I have had this account for many months because I'm out $30 for something I never even knew about, having maybe touched it because of a Bed Bath and Beyond purchase at best.
Filing a dispute with my card company because this is shady as hell and I have no interest in giving away money to this place.

Like many people this past holiday season i did my shopping online. The site that supported "shopSmater.com" was Wal-Mart. I did not knowingly sign up to join this alleged saver shopping site. I was scammed out of my hard earned money, $40. It might not be alot to many however it helps me to put gas in my car, or pay for groceries, contribute to my monthly expenses.
Lesson learned, i will not shop from Walmart.com again

I never signed up. I saw the charges to my credit card. My bank called me and said it was a scam. They canceled my credit card and got me another one overnight.
ShopSmarter said that I will get my two months of charges returned. Will see.

Selected to opt out after reading about the membership fee I sent countless emails not less than 2 hours after I signed up no response now I was debited from my account so I had to merely cancel my debit card they won't be debiting me anymore

Very sketchy site, sent me an email saying I was approved but would not change it on the site and saying I would get a check (but the amount was subject to change). However, by the time I would have gotten a "check" I would have been charged (2) months and the trial period. When I questioned them they cancelled my account very quickly and said they would refund me. SO I did a lot of work to end up with nothing... DON'T DO THIS! Waste of time, I use to use Rakuten (use to be ebates) and have always had good experiences there!

I got the ad for getting $10 back on my online purchase for Best Buy, so I clicked on it. The offer was for one-time purchase to receive the $10 cashback for that specific purchase, was charged 1.97 at that time and a week later 9.97 and no cash back

ShopSmarter is a scam site in my opinion. I signed up and made a purchase through their affiliate link, carefully reading and following exactly their directions on not using browser cashback extensions, discount codes, etc. They did not credit me with the 10% cashback I was supposed to get. I sent a couple of messages to them asking about it, but they just sent generic responses that didn't address why I didn't get the cashback. They then canceled my membership, but of course after they profited from my using their affiliate link for the purchase. I'm going to complain to the company that I made the purchase from.

Quite by accident, I signed up with that disgusting shopsmarter. I was thinking it is like Rakuten and I didn't see any prompt for monthly service fee. I didn't check my credit expenses until 4 month later. That's my experience with it. It is REALLY SMARTER.

I signed up for the Shopsmarter.com service in March 2022. I received my first payment on time, but my account was closed with no explanation shortly after, voiding several hundreds of dollars in cashback. I have tried contacting customer service to find out what is going on, but the only choice is further escalation, upon which I never hear back during the 24-48 business hour time frame. The problem is that my account was in good standing, and I have already generated nearly $700, I believe, for April. It seems that this company canceled my account instead of paying out the cashback claims I have generated. I used this company as my exclusive online shopping portal, and now I am out my time and resources. I should have known it was too good to be true. I will be filling in small claims court against this company without recourse. BUYER BEWARE!
