I never signed up for this service and they took $10 out of my account! I made a purchase at Buy Buy Baby, paid by credit card & on the order it showed I was entitled to a discount. I was asked to sign in with email to receive the discount, it linked to a separate page, still appearing that it was leading me to the discount, I was asked to create a password NOT ONCE did it ever ask for my credit card or state I was going to be billed, I would not have signed up for this service! I am angry as all hello that this scam of a company appeared to offer a discount on my purchase and took my credit card information from that purchase then charged me without my consent! Total Scam and Rip Off
As mentioned these guys are not upfront about their fees. I have looked into my account and instead of getting $15 cash back I was deducted an amount from my credit card.

My first month, I paid 9.99 and got 40 something back. The second month, I had a big purchase due to my quaterly 20% coupom from Ulta. I work for a big company call center, so I bought for several girls, so we all could take advantage of the coupon. They again paid me 40 something leaving this big purchase behind without mentioning anything. When I complained I did not get paid for the purchase, they requested a receipt and after I sent, they locked my account accusing me of being a business and refused to pay me for that purchase and all the other ones I made for the quarter. I'm now in touch with another member that got scammed for a lawsuit. I am sure they pocket our money. Be aware!

Was tricked into subscribing without realising after purchasing tickets on ticket master. Signed up in the march 2019 they didn't charge my account till the october 2019 so i wouldn't relised it was from this site. I phoned the site once i realised i had payed £70 for a site i have never visited in my life asking for a refund while the girl on the phone replyed well you accepted the terms and agreements then laughed at me. Would not recommend this dodge company. Im sure the terms and agreements didnt say we will wait 6 month before charging you for an account you haven't set up so you don't realise what the payment is.

I purchased an item through Walmart. 6 Months later I notice this charge on my account. They are refunding my money. I still want to know how they could of charged my account without me authorizing the charge. Who are they! I use ebates and never would of joined this sevice. I am surprised that this happened from a purchase through Walmart a large retail store. I could see if it happened through an unknown store. Be aware OF ALL CHARGES TO YOUR ACCT.

I can't rate it I have never used it. I didn't even know I had it but they have been charging my debit card $10 a month for 2 years. Apparently it's a pop up on Bed Bath and Beyond on line and that's how they snag you. I got scammed on Pyramid Collection for a $15 a month VIPprogram didn't know I had. So this is going to go on and on. Is there anyone who can stop these scammers.

I have no idea why a lot of negative reviews here. I rarely give reviews as I am a very busy person. A lot of people say they got ripped because Shop Smarter charged them $9.97 a month, which SS clearly stated that when you joined. I am so happy with them, YES- I pay $9.97/month but I get more than that with my rebate. I shop a lot online and I get 10% back all the time, which exceeds the $9.97 fees. This is legitimate and no scam! You have to read what you are getting into before you click that submit - so no problem at the end. I am very happy and I joined about 3 months ago, cost me less than $30, but got checks for $200+ already. I got proof, and hey- I am not part of them, and no Financial interest here, I am just telling the truth. As long as they exists, I will pay $9.97 a month. I just shopped in BJ's today for $250, and I will get $25 there right away- that is just one store. Do the math- you need to maximize your savings and always use their site. Don't pay monthly and never use them, then you LOSE money! Be smart! I fully recommend them!

I made a purchase on Bed Bath and Beyond on Sep 7th and received shopsmarter's link to claim 10% cash back on my order. They ask for credit card details to transfer cash back. I did not receive any cash back but a charge on my credit card. I cancelled the membership and i was told that I have access until Sep15th but then I am not able to login to my account to check about my 10% cash back. This website tricks to get the creditcard information and is a big scam. There is no clear information about any charge
I only trusted this link because it came with the order confirmation email from Bed Bath and Beyond. This was my last purchase from Bed Bath and Beyond (online and in store) because they promote scam websites.
Why you charged money on my account and i did not receive any cash back? Why i am not able to access the account I created?
I also attached here the cancellation proof because I do not want you to keep charging on my credit card.

First, it is not a free service, nor even in the trial period. It would charge you ~2 dollars even in first 7 days;
Second, if you cancelled the service in the trial period, they will not pay you any cashback, and they even close your account!
Third, they pay money sooooooo slow. I used them service on the first day, but they updated records 5 days later, and claimed to pay the check only in the next month.

Total joke of a business. I opened an account last year and then made an expensive purchase. Shortly afteward, they closed it before paying out the cashback without any warning. After I submitted the receipt, they agreed to open it back up. Ok so then later I closed the account as I got my cashback and didnt want to pay the subscription anymore. More than a year later, I open an account again to take advantage of the cashback on a new purchase. After making the purchase, again they closed the account without warning. This time the excuse was that "I already had an account so I can't have more than one per household". Nowhere was there an option to "re open" the old account that was cancelled so, of course, I had to create a new one. In the end I lost a lot of cashback and u can bet they kept it all for themselves. What a joke of a company. They customer support is outsourced and are of zero help. Reported to various agencies.

I didnot know how I became member of this website. I was purchasing ticket from Cheapoair 1 year ago and I dont know how I bacame member of this website. I didnot get any monthly mail regarding the monthly subscription and just these guys were deducting balance from my husband's credit card. After 1 year, today while we were going through the bank statements we find out that these guys have been charging the subscription fee monthly for 1 year. I never used this site and I didnot know how I became member. This is totally frustrating. This is a scam. We should sue these guys.

I received a check for 85 cents. A rebate for the purchase of a pkg of athletic socks. I had ordered them from Target and picked them up at the store. Previously, I had been denied a rebate on tires I purchased at Walmart becaise I picked up the tires at the store. When I pointed out the inconsistency to Shopsmarter, and asked again that my rebate for the tires be approved the "new" reason for denial came back. " Tires are not eligible for rebates" Looked to me like they were grasping at straws to find a reason to deny this. I'm starting to think they don't like me.

Never use SopSmarter. Started using this site just before Thanksgiving. QVC, Sephora, Macys, Best Buy, BedBath and Beyond and other internet site used to buy Christmas gifts for the whole family. No one purchase appeared on my account. Got a message from a customer service in January - ''Some retailers can take up to 7-10 days to appear in your Savings. The next step would be to fill out the "Missing Cashback" located under the "Help" tab if you do not see it within 10 days of the order being placed." Joke! Membership cancelled.

Like everyone else here, I saw a banner on Walmart.com linking to shopsmarter.com
The fact that Walmart.com (the world's largest retailer) is directly referring their customers to shopsmarter.com proves that this is a legitimate website as well as a rewards program.
I've read at least 20 reviews here from people bashing shopsmarter.com
When I tried to sign up it clear states the following:
"Offer Details
Start your NO-COST 7-day review with our compliments. If you decide not to continue your ShopSmarter.com membership, simply log on to cancel during your review. Otherwise, your ShopSmarter.com benefits will be automatically extended for just $12.97 a month, billed to the credit card you provide here. You may cancel at any time. Your credit card will not be charged during your review period."
It then asks for your credit card. Anyone that can't read and gives away their credit card without even knowing why DESERVES to have their credit card charged every month. Some people are really that stupid (like all the people on here for instance).
However, I am only giving shopsmarter.com three stars because they promise an introductory $10 cash back bonus (but completely fail to explain it takes 6 weeks to receive it). So I think there is room for improvement on their transparency as well.
I also think they should explain that this is a subscription service on their website.
So yes - to be honest - they are kind of sneaky in their business practices and not completely transparent. But certainly legit.
