Sure, I did get a small portion of what I was owed. Soon after joining started having numerous purchases not even listed as having been made. Then they'll assure you that you'll be 'fast tracked' to a solution. I spent much time copying/ sending the various purchases (all made per their instructions) only to have them denied- with no specific reason. At one point I sent about 5-6 separate purchases at their request only to have them give me a blanket denial. Also spoke to rep by phone, explained the problem and she thought it was odd that there was a problem. Following is the last interaction I had with them. Note they didn't cancel my account and, in fact, just billed me another $10.00! Hello,
We truly apologize for any inconvenience.
ShopSmarter obtains all of your cash-back purchase data via our participating retailer network. We determine, at our sole discretion, whether or not a purchase made through a ShopSmarter participating retailer qualifies for cash back. We reserve the right to deem a purchase ineligible for cash back if a participating retailer fails to report a transaction to ShopSmarter or if it withholds payment to us for any reason.
We have done everything we can in contacting the retailer directly to ensure the reporting is correct. That is what they have reported. Since they have directly reported it as not being fully connected to ShopSmarter, we are unable to add the purchase to your account.
Additionally, I have cancelled your membership with us successfully.
If you have any questions just let us know.

That really doesn't answer my questions. I have had many transactions through sites I never even heard of except ones made directly through your site. Any potential transactions that were started then cancelled shouldn't affect refund. All receipts I provided- if a return was made- is noted. It seems an IT issue. It seems like a cop out and that the bad/ scam reviews have more truth to those reviews. It seemed too good to be true. If you don't want to refund anything I'm tired of the hassle. My wife concurs "we only got $3.00 last month and paid $10.00." CANCEL. Send one more rating questionaire. I don't 'troll sites' nor lie. So it will be fair

I tried this company with a seven day trial. I cancelled the acct before the trial was over i was ill and wanted to make sure i wasnt charged for not cancelling. I asked the man who cancelled the acct if i was still going to recieve my credit for my first purchase. He said i would but didnt explain what i had to do or if i had put in for the refund. Well i didnt read the follow up email explaining how to claim the riegnbursement until after i cancelled the acct. When i tried to go back into the acct it had locked me out. So since i was told i would still get the check from the man who camcelled the acct i figured he had handled that part. Well when i didnt get a check from the purchase i called the customer servise told me that they couldnt help me that the acct was locked. I asked where i could call or email with a complaint. They gave me the information shopsmarter customer service. I emailed them i tried to explain what happend and that they locked my acct. I was told that to much time had gone by that i couldnt recieve the reignbursement. Now if my acct was locked even to custmer care that i spoke with and to me i assume i was never going to get my reigmbursement soon as the acct was camcelled. I have the informatiin still of the purchase but no one was willing to help even after i was under the understanding that i was going to recieve the check so to my disappointment when i didnt i called so another month went by. I did after back and forth communication recieve the 1.97 for the trial back. But was not able to recieve the reignbursement check for the purchase even after i was told that i would. Was not a good exsperiance. Lack of communication. Customer servise wasnt very helpful.
These people are total scammers! On the surface, you might think that this is a good shopping portal site to use if you're a frequent online shopper. However, once they notice that you're a big spender (or even perhaps a moderate spender), the so-called executives/supervisors in the "back room" at ShopSmarter.com will automatically lock your account and accuse you of "shopping for business purposes," which they say is not what their portal site is intended for. In fact, they will actually allow you to keep on shopping for up to 3 months--all the while collecting membership fees from you as well--and will only flag and lock your account right before the quarterly payout period, so that they can avoid the payout itself! And when your account is locked, you can't even access the record of purchases that you've already made. They purposely try to keep information from you so that you can't determine how much you are owed once they try to scam you by accusing you of shopping for business. To be honest, I'm not even sure if the fine print in their terms & conditions actually states that they prohibit "purchases for business use," but it's certainly not something that they are openly transparent about when asking you to sign up and become a member with them. And even if you provide proof of your purchases (in the form of online receipts, order confirmations, etc.) that you're indeed NOT buying for business, but for personal use, they will try and find another excuse to keep from paying you! Just read some of these reviews here at Sitejabber, and you'll see that ShopSmarter.com goes to great lengths to prevent any major payouts to its members, using one lame excuse after another. What's worse is they keep the money that they get paid from not only the membership fee that you give them, but also from the shopping that YOU DID from using their portal site! How ridiculous is that? They keep the commission that they get from the retailers that you bought from, but THEY WON'T GIVE YOU THE PROMISED 10% CASHBACK THAT YOU RIGHTFULLY EARNED by spending all that money! So if that's not a scam, then I don't know what is! That's why those of us who have been misled and victimized by this scamming shop portal site need to come together and launch a massive class action lawsuit against ShopSmarter.com. We will then not only get what we are rightfully owed from them, but there should be extra funds as well based on the punitive damages that the court(s) will award us to punish these guys. So please contact me directly at *******@yahoo.com and tell me your story of how you have been misled, deceived, or otherwise duped by this fraudulent company, and I will pass it onto my lawyers who are building a case against this unscrupulous company as we speak. Together, we will get justice against these culprits!
Once again, e-mail me about your experience with ShopSmarter.com at: jade_mask@yahoo.com, and let me know if you'd be willing to join in on the class action lawsuit that my lawyers are building against them. Don't worry... you won't have to do any leg work other than to sign some paperwork in the mail. So please, get on board and let's punish these scumbags at ShopSmarter.com!

ShadyI I sign up on this website to get 20% off the laptop I was going to buy. But I ended up not buying the laptop. I tried to cancel my account online but there was no option to do that. Then I tried to call the number they listed to cancel. Usually you would here " HI, my name is XYZ, how may I assist you today?". For this website, all I heard was" Hello, and then hellllllloooooooooooo?" in a very rude voice. I thought I dialed wrong number, but It was the right one, I double checked. How can Walmart have business association with such shady website?
Well, I feel so violently USED by this company and their service. Anger, disappointment and tears are my rewards from this company and their service.
I will start with begging. I usually shipping online so far for for decade and of course I use rebates ( rebates.com, ebates.com, shopathome.com whoever has better deal for specific purchase). Never had ANY problems with either of them. In September 2016 I was going to make purchase at Walmart.com and on their website c pop up info that I can save 10% on my purchase and link to SHOPSMARTER.COM. I was interested in offer, but didnt feel confident because I had to provide card information for automatic monthly membership fee charge, but it also offered introductory offer of paying back $10 after first purchase. I decided to try and check it. I opened account on September 3,2016 and closed it on October 3,2016 to see what will happen with membership fees charges. Check for $10 (introductory offer) and few dollars that I earned were mailed to me and I felt that its safe to use this service. I used their sign-up page and sign up again for their service on October 19,2016 https://www.shopsmarter.com/join?step=2. I used exactly the same information that I signed-up on September 3,2016). For your notice, no other option to sign up for second time available on website. I wanted to be ready for my holiday shopping since its time when I do most of my annual shopping. I started be charged with membership fees, then check for $10 (introductory offer) was received. Since I already used this offer once, I voided this check and never cashed it. I was so happy when I have seen that their offered even 20% rebates on Black Friday for some stores. I used it for most of my purchases during October, November and till December 12,2016. I was checking my saving center" periodically and noticed that I am coming close to their $1000 rewards limit per year. I was sooo HAPPY.
Then, On December 13 disaster started. I tried to sign-up and wasnt able. I was surprised. System said that this account doesnt exist. I called right away to number provided *******456. The customer representative I reached after putting me on hold told me that my account was canceled because its business use. I informed her that its personal account and if she will look to list of my purchases that she will see that its not business (shutterfly, Walmart, ralphlauren, Sephora, bestbuy, soap, colehaan and many of others). She asked me if I wanted to escalate this matter to manager. I assured her that I wanted and asked to escalate this problem. She confirmed that she did and informed me that I will be called by phone during next 48 hours. NOBODY CALLED ME.
I submitted complain regarding my account by contact form on the website https://www.shopsmarter.com/help/contact in order to reach somebody. Samantha responded, and this time I was informed that This membership has been canceled. Our records show there have been multiple accounts at your address. There is a limit of one membership per household. I checked with my husband to make sure that he doesnt have account at this service. He confirmed that he never had. I informed Samantha that there are only two adults in our household and only I had account and I attached Voided check for $10 as a proof that I didnt cash it and asked her to connect me to manager, I also asked her why my account was not canceled right away if I violated their terms of use, why it was only canceled after I was earned them rebates for two month and reached $1000, but I didnt get ANY respond or comment to my specific questions. Every Samanthas respond was like automatic answer that There is a limit of one membership and one introductory/premium offer per household. The account and cash back are not eligible On third day of active communication with Samantha informed me that she "have issued a full refund of the two membership fees of $9.97. This credit will post in 2-5 business days."
I informed Samantha that I have to address this issue to BBB agency, but it's seems like it didn't concern her. Right now I dont have access to my saving center and I cant provide exact number of rebates I earned, but it has to be close $1000 as last time I have seen it few days before my account was closed.
I dont think that the way this company does service is legal, and definitely its not fair.
Update-respond to respond of shopsmarter:
I still didn't get ANY direct responds to my specific questions:
1. Why my account was not canceled right away if I violated their terms of use, why it was only canceled after I was earned them rebates for two month and reached $1000?
2. Why there is NO OTHER OPTION on website to reopen account that customers who changed their mind and decided that its "good trustful reliable" reward source that they would like to use?
Notice to Shopsmarter:
1. Of course my purchases were close in time to each other because it was Black Fridays and Cyber Week sales, there is no rules I violated if doing it as I am aware and that is posted in your terms.
2. I am officially informing you that I am not allowed and prohibited you to use ANY financial benefits, like rebates or other that was created due to using my account at www.shopsmarter.com.
3. I think since yor actions are legal and you prohibited your customers to lawsuit you in your "terms" for not giving earned rebates and since maximum annual possible rabates is $1000, this is the reason why nobody persuade with law suit against sopsmarter. Your service is REALLY "shopsmarter", but smarter not for customers, smarter for you business since you keep the right to use rebates that was earned by customers and not paying customers thair rewards.
This is what happened to a 2016 Presidential candidate whose family used this service. ShopSmarter gets paid from retailers for approved purchases and look for excuses not to pay out commissions to me that retailers had already approved and paid them. So they can keep all the money. We used it alot and then one day couldnt log in, all the trouble and hassle and nothing so called them they said billing issue with our card and closed account. I said well you shoulda took it out of all the money you owe us (a few hundred), they assured us they were processing payment and we'd get money. We start using service again but couldnt see old history just our new purchases then on 10/6 (pay out day is 10/15) got email saying we have multiple accounts and not getting any $$ because of that. We call and they say thats not your fault that same email address on accounts we didnt reinstate account but classified it as a new seperate account (both have same email address) but now on phone a new excuse not to pay. You bought too many purchases on same day from same merchant. So whats reason you did this as shopsmarter is only for personal use. We said we have private accounts with merchant and can buy what we want and have shipped to home. If purchase is approved by merchant and they pay shopsmarter then you should pay consumer who made purchase. If you determine that you shouldn't pay consumer (you claim violated shopmarter terms conditions) then are you going to go back to merchant and say don't pay us for these transaction? No you are not if merchant pays shopsmarter then you should pay consumer for transactions not look for excuse to not pay consumer. If you deem consumer shouldn't get paid for transactions then shopsmarter shouldn't be getting paid from merchants for those transactions either. So now shopsmarter wants order history and email transactions of what was purchase to see if they should pay. So shopsmarter got paid by merchants and now wants us to go through emails and search for transaction emails(that have been long erased after got product) and send these emails to shopsmarter so shopsmarter can see what items you purchased. Thats alot of hassle (even if still had emails) and privacy concerns especially when orders purchased from a Presidential candidates account.
