My credit score soared from poor to good in about a year. So happy and excited. I am looking forward to my future.
Score dropped 33 point because my balance decreased what kind of bs is that?!?!? My score is literally worse then it was before using this bs!
My credit went up by 73 points in 3 months. My credit started at a 500 and now it's at 573. I would recommend Self to help with your credit.
Self credit app definitely does the job it boost my credit over 60 points I will recommend this too any individual wit bad are good credit too involved GO SELF!
I was waiting for my money I did in there credit builder account. Not only did they not send it customer service was some Indian guy and was very rude. DO NOT US SELF BE WARNED!
My credit score was a barely 600, but since I started with Self, my score is right at 700. Thanks to self help...
Awesome! Self help me with my credit score I used self for two years now and still is using self credit and will still continue to use it
I was trying to better my credit score and it helped me along. I'm ready to further my credit journey.
You will pay more than 30% interest. You can't pay it earlier. Will not affect much on score on timely payment.
My payments are credited promptly, they just added a secured credit card option, and their phone app dashboard is incredible.
Self Works 100%. My score is now up to 700. I'm so happy that I gave this company a try. Highly recommend!
I paid my self loan a year ago. They offered me a credit card which I accepted. I noticed a charge on my statement that was never authorized. I called to dispute the charge, had to hold on the phone for 45 minutes, spoke with a representative that immediately froze my card and said they would investigate the dispute and send me a replacement card. Three weeks later, when no card arrived, I began texting them about their failure to replace the card. They didn't actually read my communication, their response indicated that if I was disputing a charge that I needed to call Visa for that. They made zero mention of the card they never sent. That nonsensical response came from "Tyler".
I sent another email in response to "Tyler" where Tyler did not respond, I guess he handed the problem off to "Tashia" who again did not read anything I had written, rather she sent me a list of charges that I might want to review. This email was sent to me by "Tascha" after I had already received a snail mail letter saying they had confirmed the validity of my original dispute and were crediting my account permanently.
"Tashia" made zero reference to this letter or resolution which had already happened, rather she was saying that my account had been frozen by Visa for fishy charges, offering a small list of charges as the reason for the frozen account. This after I had already been told in a written letter that all was resolved in my favor and that a replacement card was on the way. Yet no card after four weeks and now Tasha saying that I needed to resolve the fishy charges and send them my "correct" address before any further action.?
I responded to them to either send me the new card, stop harassing me with idiot emails or cancel the account and return my deposit.
Six weeks and still no replacement card. All this hassle for a f... ing $10.00 disputed charge.
This companies customer service department is full of idiots.
People saying "they stole my money" *coughs* the girl saying "they charged my bank, they're stealing money, they're thieves, they only sent me back $41 but I paid $50, they stole my money blah blah blah"….
For starters, how would an identity theft creating an account benefit them? Lmao. It would be in your name, with your card for 24 months and by then MOST people would catch it… then account and card / bank had to be in your name for the payment to be successful - and even if it WASNT, you'd have access to their identity when you contacted support and you'd be able to open a case against them… aka something an identity theft wouldn't do…. Lol so that sounds like an excuse because you changed your mind when you ACTUALLY read the terms of the agreement that you were too damn lazy to read in the first place. Hence why they didn't return the entire amount. This is the last thing an identity theft would apply for Lmao.
Secondly,
When you're applying, it very specifically says the $9 administrative fee is NONREFUNDABLE….
Third,
When you added your bank, it specifically said UPON APPROVING THE TERMS OF THE LOAN, THEY ARE CHARGING YOU FOR THE FIRST MONTH OF YOUR AGREEMENT AND THIS BANK WILL BE THE ACCOUNT CHARGED FOR ALL PAYMENTS DUE TO THE LOAN.
Fourth,
Smh. Y'all need to start reading what you're agreeing to instead of just hitting submit.
I thought I was signing up for a saving account and to monitor my credit. I decided I wanted to stop after a few months because they were debiting me almost $40 a month and not all of that was going into my savings. I tried to contact them through the app but could not find a way. Could not find a phone number that I could speak to a live person, an address or email. When I found a number through a credit agency, it is an animated system that hangs up on you when it's done with what it has to say about the topic. There is no option to speak to a human. I changed my debit card # because I lost my card. This stopped the debits from Self and I did not think much about it until I noticed a 70 point drop in my credit score. I was in the 700's. Not now. I am so angry because the credit report says I owe Self $675 yet they emailed me the other day saying they are sending me a check for $26. This makes no sense. If I owe them why are they allegedly sending me the $26? I have not received the check yet.Self Lead Bank makes it so you can't contact them to cancel and then reports you to the credit agencies if you stop the payments, so you pay them the absurd amount they report you owe, just so you can't repair your credit and they get more than you would have paid in the monthly payments. I only paid them in Feb, March and stopped in May and June- so how do I owe them nearly $700 as reported to the credit agencies. This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with. I already have reported them to the BBB. I do not want to give them another dime more of my hard earned money. Self/Lead Bank needs to send information to the credit agencies retracting that I owe them a dime immediately and send me a letter of apology or I am to my attorneys office!
I'D GIVE THEM A ZERO IF I COULD.
I open a self account to have my ontime payments report for one month it's been 4 months with no other reportings
I started utilizing Self several months back as I thought it would be a great idea to save a few bucks. Well, when I realized that out of the $25.00 per month I was saving on Self, half of it was being charged as a service fee. I called *******050 and left a voice message for them to cancel my account. They still attempted to continue to charge my debit card, so when I switched cards, I didn't submit my new debit card number to Self.
Before I joined self, I had good credit. Currently, I have already been pre-approved for a $500K mortgage, paid for an appraisal, paid for an inspection, and left a $15K deposit. I am supposed to close in 2 weeks. Over the weekend "SELF" reported to the credit bureaus I was over 30 days late on a FAKE loan, dropping my credit score over 40 points.
I have an excellent payment history on every single account that I have. Never late on any of my credit cards, car loans, not even student loans. Never late. Now this BS may cause me to lose almost $20K and miss out on a mortgage.
This needs to be fixed right now. Then I tried to call every number I could find for "SELF" but can't get anyone to help. The same as when I tried to cancel my account. If I lose out on this deal and lose practically my entire savings over this, I promise I will post a million postings on every single review site that I am able to find as well as press charges against "SELF". This is so unfair that all of the hard work I put in to maintain a good credit rating is dumped in the trash by a money hungry institution that is too greedy and unorganized to allow your customers to cancel their membership.
You never gave me a dime and NOW to ruin my credit is freaking heartless.
I'm working on my credit and this helped. Use self it may help with your credit
They just I was saving with them for year and they took all the money I put in because I closed my account because I lost my job they are thiefs
I feel self is a great program, only issue is the form of communication
Answer: Beware of the fees. It is all going to them plus they will start hitting you with annual fees which they refuse to refund even when you close your account within that month. Scam and sketchy. Other banks will do the same for way less money and fees.
Answer: Yes I did it myself, just this year. I left my money in my account and started over
