They charge you $60 to $100 to have someone to come to your home and examine the problem. The expert they send you to your home puts together a report so that SelectHomeWarranty does not have to pay anything. When you try to follow the case, they tell you the decision is final.
Representative Ben, was quite courteous and rather persistent. Ben was thorough and outlined all the benefits and all the systems and items covered by Select Home Warranty and at a reasonable, affordable monthly price. Thanks!
Good problem solving. There was a problem over the weekend with dispatching the technician and getting him a work order. After several phone calls and texts the problem is solved and the work order issued.
They get contractors/techs to respond to the claim quickly but in the past, I noticed that they do not cover many things that they lead you to believe that they do. Hopefully for the claim I just filed, I'd not have to come out of pocket for more than the co pay
I had a question regarding my warranty and had only a wait time of less then 2 minutes before getting connected to a representative. I was pleasantly surprised for such a short wait time in this COVID year. I got my queries answered in a quick 5 min call and was happy with the info.
Spoke with Alex and explained the contract clearly, provided us all the details of the coverage and followed up with immediate email with the contract details and the coverage for review after we had signed up.
I just joined in February. All humming along well until June when both my DW and Washer go out. It's Corona virus so I've been using both appliances EVERY DAY, multiple times a day, probably more than I ever have. Will only speak to the submission process for claim. The on line was fine but since I didn't know how long it would take to process, I called customer service, who then took the claims over the phone and immediately issued claim #'s. Let's see how long it takes for a local provider to call and schedule an appointment and how the 2nd half of this experience goes. SO FAR, SO GOOD! I'm happy to have been able to file a claim quickly and easily and am very glad customer service picked up the phone. To be continued...
The person I spoke to was helpful and pleasant and explained all to me. The only issue was I had to repeat and repeat and repeat the explanation and she added things not true as "garage opener did not work" when I stated receptacle did not work. She submitted my claim and was pleasant... just explanation barrier.
Hello, I was most satisfied with the professionalism of Mr. Richard Zoneenee, representative, in explaining and assisting with best pricing for my plan. I must say, won't know "true experience" of my investment with Select Home Warranty until I submit a claim. After my claim experience, I will post a rating and "based on my claim and service experience" I will share with my family and others who are currently considering a home warranty. Thank you.
Received a great deal for a warranty plan that covers our pool/spa. Plus the online customer service was great with a quick call back by a customer service rep. I would recommend AHW to all home owners.
I own two (2) houses that I had insured by Select Home Warranty (SHW). The first issue was with my rental property. There was an issue that I paid approximately $5,000 for a repair. SHW was very nice. I was reimbursement $500 Whoop-te-do! My washer stopped working so I called SHW. They sent out THEIR repair person. It took then three (3) days to get to my house and when they got there the repair tech told me he could not fix it. What a joke! I had to have my HVAC system repaired in my house. First, SHW told me that I could not use my HVAC people unless they were vetted. Okay, that was done.
The work to get my system working again came to $9,000. SHW told me they would reimburse $500. I called them and I told them to cancel. After 22 minutes of arguing with them I was told they would charge me a few to cancel after they already took my money when I bought their policy. Why would anyone need SHW if they do not reimburse properly and fight with you to get work done or cancel them.
Looking at an email from Select Home Warrenty and inquired as to their service plan. Talked with a great very knowledgeable salesmen named Peter. He answered all my questions and helped me to understand what I was looking for. I purchased the plan I thought best fit my needs and am very satisfied with the outstanding service and prompt action to get my warranty to be. Thx Don
There was no wait when I called and I spoke directly to a customer rep. He couldn't help me with my question so I asked to talk to a supervisor. He put me on hold and then the call ended. Pros are that he couldn't answer my question but he was willing for me to speak to a supervisor who could. Con is that he did not state his name when he answered the call and the call ended after a period of silence. I hope this was just a dropped call and nothing bigger. Will try again.
Tried to use this policy twice and was given the run around both times. The first time our spa needed repair. We were told they had no one avaible to do the work but we could get someone and they would reimburse us. We had the repair done the next day and sent in the claim. We were then told spa was not included in policy. Warranty says is spa part of pool it is included. After saying we wanted to cancel policy they agreed to reimburse us if we kept policy. Made the mistake of agreeing. In April requested repair for oven. Broiler was burned out. A week later they sent a repair person. He looked at oven and turned in claim for New broiler. Four weeks later still no broiler. Calls to warranty company nothing but incompetence, calls to repair company never answered. Called warranty company and cancelled repair and policy. Now they want to say they need to deduct several things what a scam. TERRIBLE COMPANY
I called in my first service repair due to a/c not cooling. Upon arrival, the technician for the company said he did not think the company affiliated with Select Home Warranty any longer even though I was given their name by Select Home Warranty when I called in the repair. I called and the representative contacted the service repair technician and they agreed that the service call should be paid by me and a copy of the receipt be submitted for reimbursement. I submitted the invoice and was notified that I would be reimbursed for the repair (hopefully soon) which is not ideal, but am hopeful this won't be a recurring issue in the future.
Paid $485.98 for their top-tier Platinum Care plan, plus extra coverage for 2nd freezer and frig. Had one claim for a frig that needed repair (I paid for service call per contract). They decided to "buy me out" for the frig instead of repairing it and depreciated it to $175. Frig still "works" and could be repaired for far less than a new frig, but they won't cover that and say I have to buy a new frig, send the invoice, and THEN they'll send my $175. So now I'll be out the entire repair bill (to save myself $ compared to new frig) since we can't afford a whole new one. Basically $500 wasted on a useless "warranty".
Nothing but legal ripoff they got me for $249.00 for add on never used once I used it after a week I was told contractor will contact me with then in 48 hrs 6 days later nothing when I called to check my claim they said I'm eligible to get my own contractor then I have to pay the contractor then they send me reimbursement check with in 4 weeks.when I asked to be refunded my money they rejected me they said my plan isn't eligible for refund.
The old axiom, your first impression is the one that sticks in your mind; in this case the first impression was a good one. While I have a current home warranty with another company, my experience was not the greatest, so was shopping for a new home warranty provider. After I went to the Select Home Warranty website and left contact info, i was soon contacted by a representative named "Jeff." He was very patient with me and my questions, answering them all without hesitation or any sign of deception. He explained how Select works, and then he explained the different plans and add-ons. He further wnt over the costs, discounts and extended warranty programs. Due to his responses and explanations I did something I NEVER do, and purchased an extended contract. My first interaction with Select was great; I hope and pray future interactions will be as good as my first with Jeff.
Tried two different claims. Had rhe platinum package. Whirlpool washer that cost me 1700 dollars in 2015. Had control board go bad. SHW said my depreciated value was 200.00 for my 5 year old washer. Repair cost 461.00. That's the loophole on any appliance. Had a claim denied on A/C system. Their company they sent out said we had a Freon leak. Freon leaks aren't covered. Had 2 other companies come out to evaluate. Both diagnosed a bad compressor. SHW stood by their service company who doesn't even have a website or storefront. Had my system replaced on my own. Beware. Cancelled my policy.
Overall, grateful that they have covered my issue (although I have not been reimbursed as of yet) but they have MANY steps to endure to accomplish anything! They have been pleasant and report that my issue has been covered fully but I have had to call them and be transferred around numerous times in order to get anything accomplished. Compared to other warranty companies i have been with, I would say its the same if not a little better to work with them. But it's taken wayyyy too much back and forth.
Answer: Scam. Do not trust. They lie and will NOT cover your items.
Answer: Based on Internet searches but quickly found out that they are a SCAM.
Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
Answer: They are fast when signing you but so slow in responding and they are a total scam had to pay out of pocket for my leak repair that they should fix
Answer: Stay away from this company, get your money back ASAP. The longer you wait, the less money you get back.
