** Safeway advertised AUGUST 23-29,2023 - Exclusive Digital Coupon, EXTRA JUMBO RAW SHRIMP 21-25 Count $4.97. Advertising wrong SHRIMP Count, Should be 16-20 Count, Safeway is Ripping Consumers off again, when I brought this to Safeway Management they refused to rectify to correct Shrimp Count Packages.
Extra Jumbo Shrimp Count is always 16-20 count and larger Shrimp.
I placed order on safeway.com 2 days in advance. On delivery date, I waited for 4 hours without any delivery, but on the order status is closed. Since I got no notice from store for cancellation of order, so I contacted Customer Service online. The CSR was trying to help, but all they can do is sent E-mail to the store to find out the reasons (of course, there was no reply from store at all).
After no reply from store, the CSR wanted me to place another order so the CSR can manually put in request for me, but the order have to be placed 4 days before the delivery date. Which I did as instructed and confirmed with the CSR that everything is set to go.
On delivery date, before the 4 hours wait, I contacted CSR to confirm the order was in process for delivery. The CSR confirmed and mentioned that a driver has been assigned for the delivery. Just to make sure everything run as planned, I requested the store phone number to confirm.
The store Home Shopping manager told me they are not fulfilling the order, they never received the CSR request etc. Very rude and careless of what she is doing to the customer.
I contacted the CSR again, then being transfer to the Supervisor, and was told there must be some operation issues. The supervisor said she will forward the issue to the operation manger and someone will contact me back.
Of course, there is no one contact me back, there is no delivery, and even no notice of none delivery.
Not a dependable grocery services for family.
Do not make it difficult for an 80 year old woman to shop. Wtf is digital coupon mean if you have no signal in your store. Quit robbing people. Everything is way to overpriced. Way over priced. Here is an example just one I don't have time to reveal more,,
Avocados member price on occasions 4 for fcuking 6 bucks. Did you grow them safeway? Fcuk no you didn't than you have the audacity to make digital coupons for.37 ea. Dafuq are you doing? This is an absolute outrage and worse than big pharma. FIX IT $#*!S

I have shopped at safeway for years and within the last couple years (2014-2016) I have noticed the price at the shelf is NOT the price you get at checkout. When I questioned if I was going to get the 'discount' the clerk was curt with me and a heavy sigh states "It will all come off at the end maam'. It never did. I got home and realized I paid $18 for sparkling water that was supposed to be 3/$12. The meat had additional coupons that were not scanned. The price on the shelf was not what I got. I thought maybe this was just a 'bad checker' so I returned a week later and even told the other clerk about the price problem. He assured me I would get the 'discount' and so I believed him. I get home and see I did not get any of the discounts. I called the store and they say "well, bring in your receipt and we will fix it'. I live 25 miles out of town, I won't remember to bring in the receipt 2 weeks later, The point is, please, get it right the first time, The way they scan your items, it's impossible to watch and see if you get the discount, I think Safeway corp. designs it this way so they can confuse you or make you feel like you are holding up the line if you question an item. I will not shop at safeway anymore,
I normally don't shop there but I had to go get a few things and was pretty stunned at there prices… They hands down charge so much more for so many things than other places probably the worst example I can recal was progresso soup for over 4$ a can! I Almaty and Fred Meyer charge less than half of that and that's just the one off the top of my head. There prices are comparable to Trader Joe's except Trader Joe's actually has healthier foods and to be honest even has sone things cheaper than Safeway. I normally don't go out of my way to write reviews like this but I feel in this instance I need to point out Safeways extreme capitalism that there taking a play from major oil companies. Except in this case there are way better alternatives. Gas companies kind of have there capitalism cornered because none of there competitors are coming up with affordable ways Safeway could easily not price gouge people. So I wholeheartedly hope that Safeway loses a lot of business in light of the price gouging. They obviously don't care about there customers financial situations.
What a bunch of horse $#*!. I spend an hour or so researching who has the Johnson and Johnson covid vaccine, filling out Safeway's questioner, making a f ing apointment. Get dressed to drive to the appointment - wait in line - only to be behind someone who they tell they don't have any vaccine (Pfizer) mixed up and it will be 20 to 30 minutes. When it is my turn they tell me the same and ask is this my first or second shot. I said I'm getting the 1 shot J&J. They say they don't have any been telling IT that for some time and they aren't going to have any for weeks. Horse$#*!.

Safeway gave me a card some years back in order to access the sales. I've been using the card. However, none of the personal deals in the app were being honored, so I kept going up to customer service everytime to show them my phone app and the coupons I clicked to get my refund. She finally told me this week that they no longer accept the Safeway Card... WTF. When I scan the card at the self checkout, it actually says "card accepted." Why do you tell me this, when it isn't true! So how do you get your personal deals? You have to put in your phone number, which I can do... BUT WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THIS? Why is my phone number not linked to the card? Why didn't you tell me you no longer honor the cards?Oh, and she told me they that soon they're not going to have ads at all. Oh, and they stopped carrying the Amish butter. Everyone in our community is calling it the "Amish butter crisis." Everyone bought it, so it's not like it wasn't selling. Oh, and they are ALWAYS out of heavy cream, which is needed in numerous recipes. They never have the sale items anyway. I've just really had it with Safeway. They are the worse run company I've ever seen.
I went on myturn site and made a booster appointment with Safeway. When I got there they said I wasn't eligible. I called my doctor today and got an appointment right away. Safeway sucks!

Purchased some beef on deal yesterday through the App and can't pick up earlier, and I went there especially for the beet, they told me it's out of stock and substitute with some things I Don't Want!
Ever since this store started doing digital coupons there have been problems. I use the computer to click on coupons since i have no cell service and now horrible litte computer to carry aound with me called a "smart phone".
Sometimes the digital coupons work, sometimes they don't, sometimes some work and other do not, all downloaded at the same time. I have heard this from many others including safeway employees. I have gone back to the site and double checked only to find that YES it says I did click on it. So how come Fred Meyers can do it right and Safeway cannot after all this time? Plus, without fail, if I buy more than 3 unique items at any Safeway store I am overcharged for something. When I bring this failure of the digital coupon to work to the cashiers attention i am met with hostility (Longview, WA, St Helens, OR) and told I am a liar. I say Safeway is a liar and this is bait and switch tactics and this is not the only bait and switch they do at their stores. I now hat them and have been a customer there for decades but this digital crap and the trouble it causes makes me pretty much shy away from them and if I have to go there it is 3 items only, no more, ever. And watch them very close.
How many other have this issue? It may be jsut a Longveiw, St Helens thing since people here are really horrible.
I have shopped at the safeway store on cannon road for the last 6 years or better, in the last month, every time I have tried to get lunch meat out of the deli, I have had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get help. I wait in front of the deli where the meats and cheeses are and wait and watch people who have come after me get waitted on for chinese food or whatever from the hot food department and the women from behind the counter wait on them and leave me waitting even though I was there first. Its rude, I finally had enough today. I went to complain to the manager and they gave me a bay boy to complain to. I know he was a bag boy because I've shopped there for over 5years and I know everyone who works there. My own neice works there thats why I started shopping there. When I finally did get to talk to the manager,[he just happened to check me out]. All he said was that he was sorry. My neice was working in foral and on my way out, i stopped to talk to her and the manager named Jay Betts came up to me and said I had to leave. I just got done spending $100.00 in his store. You really need to adjust the scales. The ones at the produce weighs differently then at the checkout. The ones at check out is usally more. Alot of us have to watch what we spend. Once I found mouthwash on sale for $1.00. There was 5 bottles above the$1.00 tag. Got to checkout and was $5 something. Told cashier who was manager at that time about the sale and he had a bagger go look. Bagger came back and told him the it was true and there was 4 more there so I do get it for that price. Manager told him that next time to let him handle it. Which to me is wrong. They need to have stockers pay attention when stocking. I have had very rude cashier's ask baggers inappropite questions in front of customers. Had one checker spill already cooked chicken out of container onto check out belt, picked it up with her hands and put it back into the container and was going to bag it. I looked at her and she asked me if I still wanted it. Told her NO not after she had her hands on it. Come on money is one of the most dirtiest things to handle. Had her replace it. She was mad at me. Shelves are hardly stocked. Safeway has gone down hill really bad and I only go there if there is an item that they only have
It's to bad cause Safeway was the only store I use to shop at. Many people quit shopping there.
Safeway cashiers always argue over Safeway coupons. They even attempt to not honor Rewards points for free items. This has happened so often that I think I'm pretty much done with Safeway. The last time I shopped at the Bothell Safeway, both the cashier & the cashier manager put me through hell over a $1.25 free item I was supposed to get with my Rewards points. When the item wouldn't scan right, instead of fixing the problem, they tried to blame me & made me reopen my Safeway app 5 times. They were extremely, and unnecessarily, rude and condescending. They put me through BS for 10 minutes over a $1.25 item and in front of other customers. Then when they finally had to admit that the problem was with the app. (while they finally rang it up for free per the coupon), they still charged me tax.? That makes sense--NOT! Basically, they tried to shame me as a customer for using my Safeway coupons & Safeway app. Rewards points. Unbelievable. And this is an ongoing problem. I'm done. F Safeway. Do you know how well other grocers treat their customers, like Trader Joe's, PCC, and similar?--very well! And they actually show respect for their customers (you know the ones who actually pay their salaries). These alternative stores mentioned above are totally worth it, just for the CS alone. What's really crazy is I actually save more money at Trader Joe's, I figured out, than I do at Safeway even with Safeway coupons & Rewards points. Safeway is a rip off all the way around. The worst, though, is the company is such a bloated monopoly that it has the arrogance to try to abuse it's customers, and that goes right down to its lower level workers. Pathetic. P.S. Also, more than once in the last 6 months (2 different Safeways), when I have purchased items on sale, they turned out to be expired for a week. One was a salad, and as I ate toward the middle, I noticed the leaves were limp & starting to rot. Then, I looked at the expiration date--7 days expired! I hope Safeway fails.
So, they've gone and UPDATED the app that has always worked perfectly well. That USUALLY doesn't bode well for users of the app!
Before, when you'd see an item at the advertised "JUST FOR U" price, if you decided you WANTED it... you'd "click" on it. It then showed "ADDED" and you were done! You'd go to the check out, and you'd GET the item for the SALE price! Easy peasy!
NOW (with the new "improved" app) you see the item you want, you "click" on it. It shows "ADDED" but you're NOT done! If you go to check out, you're going to pay FULL PRICE! (THIS is "new and improved?)
So what you've got to do, BESIDES clicking on it and SEEING "ADDED"... you HAVE to look down... click on "MY LIST", and it shows a list of the items you've ALREADY clicked on.
You THEN have to scroll down the list, FIND the item you JUST CLICKED on... and click it again! THAT, concedes you your "discount" price! How is this BETTER?
We've about decided to just go down the street to the LOCALLY OWNED market/grocery store and click on NOTHING! It MAY cost a little more, but it's a LOT less of a hassle, and I don't feel so used and abused! Lol!
I have been ordering from Safeway using their Online order and store pickup service since the pandemic started. My first order had 20 items, 13 of them were missing. Yes, two thirds of my order was missing. It was still charged on the receipt, I still paid for all of it, but the items were not in any of the bags. I obviously callded them to get the rest of my order. I waited for a long time, and eventually they came back with "the rest". It wasn't the rest, it was still missing multiples items. At this point I didn't even care, I just wanted to go home. Fast forward to a month later, same thing again! I make an order online containing about 20 or so items, and about a third to half of them were missing! I tried to be patient. I knew that they were struggling just as the rest of us are in this pandemic, there is no need to lash out and ruin someone's day even more. This continued on for the next ELEVEN months! Every month or two I would make an order, go to pick it up (with extra bags in my car), find out several items were missing, using my extra bags to double-up the cold items, and wait another half hour for them to bring out the rest of the items. Most days, I would just go home anyway feeling defeated and not caring about the missing items. I have finally gotten to the point that I can no longer be patient and understanding. This has continued on for nearly an entire year, I have been shorted likely hundreds of dollars worth of items. It blows me away that a company could be this sloppy! I understand maybe missing one or two items on a large order, but to continually and reliably lose a third of all orders is absolutely unacceptable! The only reason I kept coming back is because my family is immunocompromised and there aren't many other services around that offer parking lot order pickup without costing an arm and a leg. But at this point it doesn't even matter if I have to pay double at Whole Foods if I ACTUALLY get my order! I'm never shopping at Safeway again, you have permanently lost a customer.
