Some Safeway Tractor Trailer Drivers are RECKLESS!
I could "not" tell whether it was a Man or Woman because it was at Night.
There is NO "Safe"way" with this suppose to be "Professional Driver"
Professional Drivers such as myself (over 25 years) pride ourselves as "Saving Lives" every day, not being reckless and irresponsible like this one...
On Friday Night, May 17,2024 between 10:55 PM and 11:10 PM one of their Safeway Tractor Trailer drivers came off of the 83 South Ramp, onto 695 South, towards Glen Burnie, Maryland, "mashing on the fuel". You could hear the Motor "Screeming"!
Instead of moving over 1 lane at a time, the driver decides to change 2 lanes at once, with me being in the second lane. The same lane I had been in for the previous 10 miles. They almost sideswiped me. Then, after he realized I was Standing my ground, in my lane, not going to force me into another lane of traffic, they decide to ride the dotted lane line, like it's going to scare me. I am a Professional driver of 25 years and big trucks do not scare me. Then, they get behind me and ride my bumper like an $#*!, because they do not pay for the truck Liability Insurance. Then, they pass me on the left. As they pass me on the Left, they turns on a Bright LED light affixed to his Passenger Side Door (possibly used when Backing Up to Loading Docks at Night) to "blind my vision" as they Speed past.
Then, they proceed to Mash on the Fuel while in the "Well Posted" (Above and on Sides of Road) "NO TRUCKS IN LEFT LANE" as they continue to pass other cars, Recklessly. Absolutely, NO regard for the "Safety" of other drivers. They are mighty lucky I had to be somewhere because I would have followed them to their next destination and the situation would not have been a good one. I tried calling to complain and I get people in another country that had NO contact information to file a complaint. No wonder some of their drivers are reckless. They need to monitor their Speed and have Cameras in their trucks. Fortunately, I am an experienced Professional Driver of 25 years of "Safe Driving". This could have been someone's Child or Grandkid. If they had hit me, Albertsons definately would have been sued. Not because I want to sue, but because they have a "Moron" behind the wheel that obviously feels like they can bully cars. Albertsons needs to get serious about Road Safety and put GPS and Cameras in your trucks!
ALARMING Statistic:
90% of ALL Auto Accidents are Preventable, Human Error.
Which also means, 90% of people killed on roads would still be Alive, if it was not for Reckless people!
Let that soak in for a moment. It is simply a matter of time before they kill someone's Loved One! It's not if, it's when this person will kill someone being behind the wheel. Peoples Wives, Husbands, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Grandchildren, etc.
Absolutely Rediculas!
No Load on Earth worth traveling like this.
No, enough said

Loved the wide aisles, cleanliness, and large variety of products. Well displayed. Did NOT like the system that Safeway members have to take photos in order to get discounts. Too time consuming. Stopped shopping there for this reason.

Have to say with the high prices from this store there shouldn't be issues with long lines waiting for check out. Even with signs that said more then 3 and we will open another register. Which didn't happen till the line was longer then 10 people.

I wasn't gonna post this review but after not getting a call back after 20+ days I feel this person needs to be vindicated. Well if I could rate this business a negative star I would and will -about a month ago LOST PREVENTION AND SEVERAL MEMBERS FROM MANAGEMENT physically, racially and verbally assaulted a Hispanic female who was visibly distraught requesting medical attention. She hadn't even left the store as a matter of fact she had stopped about a few yards from the door looking at a receipt she looked as though she was about to return back to customer service where another manager had gave her a refund for money she was owed how do I know because I was behind her in line at customer service it wasn't until she got to near the exit when she was confronted by staff members, who came off extremely verbally aggressive. I'll tell you this if someone called me a mother effer and told me this is why you ppl shouldn't be here I'd be talking 10 times worse back. The fact that this lady asked for that Lost prevention (LP) to step away and deal with management directly because the LP could not control her emotions, which the manager refused and told her to stfu while in her face says a lot about this company. Anyway I felt obligated to stick around because several staff members were teaming and piling up against a Hispanic woman ( this manager was a male about a foot and a half taller than her in her face screaming while the LP kept shoving her with her shoulder and management did nothing to stop his staff from doing this) the customer called him a racist bigot it struck a nerve because he called the cops so quick and shoved the phone making contact with the customers face saying who a bigot now this poor lady was assaulted / took a bite to the face and followed outside the store when she was trying to leave. The manager and The LP walked out the store following the customer who just got bit/assaulted her was still trying to attack her while following her outside the store still Harrassing the customer The LP called her a spic and bragged how she kept the items the customer paid for and how she "whopped her $#*!." This lady tried to leave before it escalated to physical violence but was threatened that if she left it would be worse on her. She was not permitted to leave I heard them tell her that she couldn't leave. She was held against her will I tried helping her gather her items and the lp kept throwing her groceries she paid for all over the store floor. I often ask myself what would have happened if this lady were white….This is someone's mother. My heart goes out to you dear …
As you check out You would think self check out is there to assist you from some things we may sometimes over look. Long story short i ran into this lady the a couple days later and noticed a bruise on her face (picture below) Safeway gets an F. I don't know what else to say other than this is ugly and wrong last I heard these two employees are still employed …. Just shows how this behavior is condoned
Smh
I’ll never ever return or refer anyone because of the racial profiling and abuse

WORST PHARMACY EVER! My 76 year old Army Veteran father-in-law had a prescription sent into the Pinetop-Lakeside Safeway Pharmacy, after being seen for Indluenza A at the Show Low Urgent Care. The poor man was waiting in the truck nearly half dead. The pharmacist on duty tried to make us return THREE TIMES for one prescription, as after the second return, he went on break for an hour. What kind of management skills are being displayed here? How selfish & dishonorable is it to keep an elderly Army Veteran waiting for nearly 90 minutes to fill one prescription? After reading poor review after poor review, you'd think that someone within this Safeway's Store Management Team would have the gall to confront the problem? Nope!...why change anything, since it's only one of two grocery stores in Pinetop-Lakeside? This Pharmacy is poorly managed by a selfish and dishonorable pharmacist. This Safeway Store Manager could care less to fix the problem, even after years of negative reviews. To the Safeway Pharmacist and Store Manager...you should be ashamed of yourselves. Your karma is waiting for you. You deserve no mercy when you are deathly ill.
I've lived near and shopped Safeway (Fountain, CO; #1975) for close to 17 years. It was my regular food shopping market, until recently. Several times over the years, they've run out of hand baskets. And without exception, I'll mention it to a manager or floor staff employee. And without exception, the employee will say (paraphrasing), "We're not buying any more. Too many people walk out with them." Within a few weeks, a new supply is on the floor. Weak excuse. This Fountain branch can't be any different than any other supermarket, with the # of handbasket thefts. But... I've never known of any other supermarket not always having them available. And, I was informed that the Fountain branch leads Colorado Safeways' sales. And so it's fair to assume their profits are excellent. As one so familiar, I tried to not shop in the late afternoon, as it's *very* crowded.
Considering their profits, and the fact there's no way they're losing more than 1-3 handbaskets/day, at a wholesale cost that shouldn't be over $15 (possibly half that... cheap molded plastic with simple metal handle), as such, that overhead cost can make a blip of loss to their net profits. And it makes no sense to have rush hour shoppers forced to use a cart, increasing congestion with the added space the carts take up.
And I've noticed their prices have skyrocketed on lots of staple items. Hormel lunch meat (8 oz)...$8. $16/lb for (non-organic) regular deli lunch meat? $5.80 for a standard size Smart Balance Light Mayo? $10 for a single (8 oz, I believe) serving pre-cut fresh salmon filet from the meat section? The same size chunk, cooked, deliciously seasoned and with a big portion of steamed broccoli in a relatively nice dining environment with wait service at Applebee's is only $6 more ($16). Trader Joe's (north end of town) has fresh salmon for what looks like around half the cost. Walmart has the same Hormel deli lunch meat, twice the size (16 oz.) for...$4. That's exactly 1/4th of what Safeway charges.
Most people know that Walmart's prices will beat most of the traditional supermarkets (Albertsons, King Sooper, Safeway, etc.), but Safeway's prices have increased the gap recently to what's probably an average of well over 50% savings on consumers' most popular items. And Walmart makes the very simple investment to have anti-theft detectors connected to the handbaskets (w/entry detectors of course). No excuses, and no hassle to the customer.
I think maybe I should thank Safeway for upsetting me to the point where I've now switched to Walmart and Trader Joe's on the majority of my regular shopping items. I just bought TJ's deli lunch meat (looks like unprocessed, unground-up and reformed) breast meat, i. E., much better than Hormel's too-thin cut chicken meat-like deli meat for $4.79 for 7 oz. Higher quality for nearly a 1/3rd less cost. And... TJ's always has tons of handbaskets.
Safeway appears to have succumbed to the big corporation greed that too often comes with it. Fortunately, stores like Trader Joe's maintain an easily noticeably higher standard of quality, TASTE (their products are healthier and taste better than the typical "equivalent" sold by any typical big corp supermarket) and lower prices... makes it easy to switch.
I have been a faithful shopper at Safeway for decades, but I am tired of them screwing up orders, over charging, and failing customer service. It's honestly become a breath of fresh air IF employees are caring and do their job. Many times, at multiple stores, I have been made to feel like I am bothering them if I am trying to purchase something from the deli or the meat counter. I understand they are overwhelmed and overworked, but it doesn't mean you get to treat customers poorly! They don't have enough checkers, it's practically a miracle if there is a bagger. I am disabled, and I am tired of bagging my own groceries while the checker just looks on and acts annoyed that I am not super fast. I have received more help from fellow shoppers than I have most employees. Every time I order online for pick up it seems like they pick out the worst possible produce and meat for me, when I know there is better in the store. It starts to feel like they are told to give pick up customers the worst of what's available. I bought lettuce tonight and had to throw half of it out! Being immunocompromised I try to avoid going in store during cold and flu season. But they always mess up my order, so I always wind up going inside the store anyway! This week their online inventory didn't even match up with what was actually in stock in the store. Then there were items that they claimed were out of stock, but when I went into the store myself, all but one item were actually in stock; right there on the shelf! It's like they don't even try to find things sometimes. I can't stand the way they substitute things. The options for substitutions are so limited. Many times because of the way the substitution guidelines are set up, I don't get what I need. Yet, if I go into the store myself, there usually is a suitable substitute on the shelf! Unfortunately it seems that every Safeway in my area is the same. I recently had an experience in Greeley CO where I went in the store at 7:00 pm. When I went to check out, there were no registers open, only self check. There was one possibility 30 something manager and a bunch of teenage and early 20 something employees. They shut down the main entrance at 7:30 pm, and were pretty much refusing to work! I asked if any check lines were open and was told by a teenage girl that they weren't. All of the shoppers were being forced to use self check, even people like myself with orders that were way too big for a self check station. I wound up stacking items all over the bagging area. I don't know what the deal was, but all of the store front employees were standing around talking, messing around, and socializing as they watched all the customers do everything themselves! They even got on registers, and just sat there BSing with each other, but never opened a single register, nor did they do anything on the register like count drawers or install receipt paper etc. They just made it a complete social hour for themselves. I have never experienced anything like it ever! It's too bad, because I do like their Safeway brand products, and they used to be a great place to shop. Now I am reconsidering my loyalty.

SAFEWAY DELIVERY
This is a review of my experience working for Safeway (the one in Lynnwood, WA on 148th and hwy 99) and a review of managers Kris Schoolcraft and Josh Kershner.
Kris Schoolcraft is a racist who smokes weed outside on his 15 minute breaks and on his lunch breaks (even sharing his weed with other coworkers while they are outside). Ask him to show you his Instagram (which he put on private so I wouldn't tell on him). Look at his highlights, you will see that he has no problem saying the N word or writing the N word (this is not towards people but he is reciting song lyrics). His Instagram, "Seattlesuperchronics" is a page dedicated to his weed addiction. Every single post is about him smoking and buying weed. Back to the racism. Kris drove me home and told me how his father attacked a black man with a knife. Kris said "$#*!" in the car infront of me and laughed. He also said his father "is into Nazi $#*! but he is a good guy." There was also this incident where Kris told me he would give me a $5 reward card for my work which he didn't give me. I reminded him and he still refused to give me the $5 reward card (five dollars...) I can only assume why, but it was horrible that he refused to do that after he said he would.
Now onto Josh Kershner. He pulled me into the office on day to tell me that one of the over night people called his coworkers the N word (something he said he wasn't supposed to tell me). Before he told me he spent a good five minutes telling me that what this person said was ok, he meant well, and that it was innocent... Saying the N word... I also have caught him on multiple occasions racially profiling me and glaring at me as I left because my backpack was full (with my belongings). I have also caught him giving black customers dirty looks and treating them differently the he treats other customers.
The most disturbing thing about Josh kershner though was when he had to escort a disabled customer out of the store. He came back inside a proceed to tell me that he said the most horrible things to this customer but because this customer is disabled to the point of not being able to defend himself physically it was okay to say degrading things to him.
Besides these two managers there is this associate named Taylor who called a customer the N word and still has a job, the overnight person who called his coworkers the N word kept his job, and Kris Schoolcraft, who's father came to the store and attacked a black customer while calling this customer the N word, was still able to keep his job. Management at Safeway is notoriously racist and anti black to the point of black associates leaving. And besides the racist anti black culture which is supported and protected at Safeway. There is no organized behavior from management. They schedule people without them knowing and then won't call to tell them they were scheduled. They also will not call you if your late to work (like if you forgot you worked at a certain time for example), which they are supposed to do. They schedule people outside their availability and on days that were requested off (the requests were approved), they put people into departments and positions without training then. And when I started working I was told that it's my responsibility to call them regularly in order to get job training...
Safeway on 148th and hwy 99 is the MOST unprofessional store I have ever worked for. I hope Safeway sits Kris, Josh, and the rest of management down to talk about this review. But most importantly I wrote this to protect black customers and any black people looking to work at this store from these people. If your black DO NOT give them your money or your time. There are safer places to work and to shop. Do not give people who hate you because of your race money to pay their bills. And do not join their team.
Want to give kudos to my Herndon Safeway clerk, Cresencia, & bagger, Nick, for always giving stellar service. They continually offer a smile and offer to help in anyway they can. Safeway has many great employees, but these two always meet my expectations! Nick not only greets you inside the store, but also when he sees you outside before you enter the store. Keep up the good work Safeway!
