We just spent $90 to have parts shipped to us, then shipped back. This is price gouging at its best. This isn't the first time we've received incorrect parts. We've also received an oil filter cut in half because it was a display model. It's impossible to talk to customer service, if that's even part of this company. And half the time, it's not worth returning parts. I'd rather pay the same amount at a local parts store with what I would be paying in parts and shipping at RockAuto knowing I can return it with a full refund or exchange it for the correct part. I have not found value in this company and their auto parts. It's definitely hit or miss.
All the parts I have bought through rockauto have been exactly what I need never have I had to do any kind of returns have always met or came close to oem specified needs never have to go back to the parts store if something is not right will return again in the near future
After purchasing and receiving a NEW wiper motor that was faulty out of the factory I tried to contact rockauto. There is no phone number except corporate he. They do have what appeared to be good system, getahuman. That failed to get me a return call, text or email. I'm tired of trying to make contact with a company that insulates itself so well that a customer has no chance of speaking with a representative. The motor was shorted out internally so that when the plug was installed all terminals became hot, as did I after screwing around with the motor and company. Done with that compan, y. Bought a remanufactured motor from AutoZone that works amazingly well. STAY AWAY FROM Rockauto.
I recently bought an exhaust system from them and had a problem with a BOSAL supposed OEM-equivalent catalytic converter. Part is not the same length or flange lead pipe pitch as the OEM part. That created a system leak. As a Saturday afternoon installation goes, I need the car to get to work during the week so I had to install the incorrect part just to get by until I can kluge up some addition gaskets. I emailed them to inform them of the problem, got a response back to go to the website and fill out the "part doesn't fit" questionnaire to get a remedy. Wouldn't you know, part is not returnable even though they sold a wrong part. You can't call customer service any more as now everything is through the website. You can hire a chimp to cut and paste company policy in an email. I've installed parts before from local stores where the discovery came after installation. They took the parts back. Rockauto is now on my "suck list".
I have used rockauto for years and what I've probably saved in parts con paired to auto part stores I am probably breaking even with the savings. But at a huge expense of stress and the quality of the parts. I do my own work so I save their but parts ware out faster and most come damaged. The problem with this is it's at your own expense because now you pay the shipping both ways for a part that shouldn't haven't ever been sold. Or then you find out after the fact with there warranty technicalities. You get the wrong part you pay the shipping back or keep a part that you can't use. I am recently convinced that they are selling quality control issued parts that the manufacturer knows about. The reason the parts fail so quickly. This is why I have learned my lesson for the last time. $#*! this company. Oh by the way you can't talk to anyone and don't bother calling Corp they must not exist.
I ordered rear shocks for my Suzuki Kizashi and paid shipping, installed them passenger shock started leaking immediately so had to order a third shock and pay shipping on that one to replace the bad shock then RockAuto wanted me to purchase a shipping label to return the defective shock to them. Will not order from them again!
I purchased a small, light weight product recently and decided to return it, because I no longer needed it. I returned it a few days after I received it. It was unopened and shipped back with their label... when I received my refund I was shocked to see it was $18. Less than the total I paid. They charged me shipping cost, return shipping cost, and taxes. Never again will I purchase anything from them. I'd rather stick to A1 auto for now on.
Dont spend money here. Over priced and dont treat you right. I bout a fuel pump from them they sent me the wrong one. Got a hold of them and get this they dint speak english. Anyway after fighting with them and you guessed it they wee right and now everything, i can the part numbers and it clearly came up with something else. DON'T buy from them support your local part stores.
I ordered a part and paid extra to have it shipped and received on a specific date. The part did not arrive on the intended date and RockAuto's response was that they do not guarantee shipping even though they allow the options during checkout. I reported them to the BBB and file a complaint and refuse to do business with this company again.
As a long time RockAuto customer (12 years) transactional experiences have become more and more disappointing. Quality of products is not what it once was compounded by a lack of customer service has lead me to purchase from other online automotive retailers. Most recently I was in the process of ordering a rear bumper cover for my latest project. The price shown in the catalog did not match the price when added to the cart, the cart price increased. There was no one that I could reach out to and no one available for online chat. Time for RockAuto to evaluate their customer service strategy! I'm okay with paying a little more with other online automotive retailers and be able to solve any issues in minutes vs. spending hours messing around with RockAuto. This company have a bad customer service. I ordered parts did not receive it i was still charged and they are refusing to credit me or send me a new parts.
Very disappointing I will never order from them again and i am recommending you not to by from them.
Stay away. Rock Auto shipped me a defective power steering pump and wants me to either,
A. Take it off, send it back at my expense (seriously), wait for them to send another part and hope it is not defective.
B, purchase another part, pay shipping, hope is it not defective and pay to ship the defective part back.
They have no customer service line and no way to resolve this. I am going to eat the cost of this and never, ever use them again.
The pump was not only defective but is was insanely hard to put on since the specs were slightly off. Worst retailer ever.

Don't trust RockAuto, they don't stand behind their products or provide good customer service. They shipped me two "quick struts", that were assemble wrong. While pissed, I had the car apart, and just recompressed them and rebuilt them properly. Their website said they would reimburse you if you had to fix a part, so I simply asked for the price difference back compared with a regular strut. They said I have should have just shipped it back! The cost of that exceeded what I was asking for, crazy! And, by the way, I was supposed to leave my car disassembled for weeks? They obviously don't care to make it right, never use them again. Bad enough they screwed up, worse they don't care to do the right thing.
Bought a fender and it came in damaged. I was willing to wait for a replacement, but they blamed the shipper and said there was nothing they could do to help. So I am out 300.00 dollars, so please read this warning they will screw you on returns and they have no phone number to contact them so thats how they get out of screwing you
Ordered a part that they said would fit my vehicle. I didn't install the part for 46 days. I went to install the part and it is not the right part. I confirmed again in their parts list for my vehicle and it gave me the same part again. I tried to return the part and I couldn't because it had been over 30 days. So I tried to go through warranty and it flagged my order that I can't return because I ordered the wrong part. You can't call anyone or email anyone. They lost me as a customer!
One shock was a store return. Plus one was gas charged other was conventional. Dangerous to mix them like this was supposed to be the same. Horrible support.

I ordered MOOG suspension parts. On the invoice even said Moog part number and description but what Rockauto.com sent me was Chinese cheep junk. I think that is illegal because they invoiced me for MOOG and sent other brand with out any notice before had or after. I have made a complaint with the consumer affairs.
I had to send it back at my cost. NO customer service to talk to. Called the main office no help!
