If I could leave less than ONE star I would. I paid $45.04 for the part, taxes and shipping included. However, I had to return the part because it was a manual mirror instead of a power one. I was already upset they charged $8.01 for a return label, but I did it anyways because it had to be returned. If you do the math on that, I was supposed to get a return of $37.03 back but I was only issued $26.33 back. WHAT A RIP OFF! You already charged for the label, geez … Just give me all my damn money back! I'll never do business with these pricks again!
I should have known to avoid a so-called company that doesn't have human being customer service you can speak to. I paid $655 for two catalytic converters that they claim to be Walker brand. Immediately after placing the order online I sent their email address instructions to put cushion or padding in the box that they ship them in. Too much of my absolute disgust RockAuto sent the catalytic converter with absolutely no box at all. The incompetent morons neglected to cover the O2 sensor port at all. They demonstrated an awful effort to cover the inlet of the converter. Any debris or anything could have gotten into the internal components of this catalytic converter during shipping. Just my luck RockAuto will probably expect for me to pay something towards shipping these back to them. I believe after paying $300 for one of the catalytic converters they could have at least put it in a box. The inlet opening is poorly welded as well. I wish people could still get embarrassed because clearly at RockAuto they have no shame.
I'm so stupid for ordering from them. I got an order from them back in like 2013 and figured I would use them again. I figured my cost and shipping and determined which places to ship from in order to get the the lowest shipping costs. I took a long time. My order came out to $140. I order small stuff like filters and windshield wipers etc. Well 5 of the 17 parts did not fit. One of the parts they wanted me to ship back at my own expense, was a $3 part. Terrible web site for confirming parts are going to actually fit or be the parts they say they are. Even if you believe you are ordering the right part there is no guarantee it will be that part or even fit and who knows if they will give you a return, it is all done by computer and asking questions. There is no option for I ordered the correct part, the correct part was shipped, but it did not fit. In this case they may accept the return, but you pay shipping back. You will waste more time trying to find out how to return, contact customer service, and return than it is worth. Their site is designed to make returns and contacting customer service so painful you just won't do it. Just a sleazy way to operate. Figuring people will just take the abusive return policy and no customer service and just no return parts. Splitting cost of shipping on returns when it was their fault or forcing you to pay for a return when it is their fault. Recommend just calling your credit card company and doing a charge back. Better yet, order somewhere else. It is just not worth the headache to deal with this company. Most parts can be found for the same or less. Remember their shipping costs are high and you end up losing any savings with the stress of returns and lost money on returns. This is not a place to take any chance on unless you know exactly what you are ordering and are prepared to accept the high shipping and headaches. Frankly, I don't want to see this company again in commercials or popping up anywhere. I want to delete them and block them from my browser. My children have seen the trouble I have had and so have friends and neighbors. I tell everyone, it just is not worth it!
Rockauto used to be a backyard mechanic's best friend! BUT they have started charging US dollars to Canadian totals...even though they CLEARLY show prices in CAD, shipping in CAD, total in CAD...they THEN adjust it to USD and your price has a HUGE INCREASE on the price you're paying! Should be illegal! I won't support a low down take advantage of customers business like this, anymore! What was once recommended, now is warned to STAY AWAY FROM THIS DIRTY BUSINESS! Received damaged box, on the outside, and damaged box on inside. Parts looked like they had been installed but rock auto would not stand behind a refund or replacement. Poor customer service as they said ship them back at my cost but would not give a refund. Not sure how that works but will not give this dishonest company any more of my money.
First, as a person that designs and builds websites the website is atrocious. All the menus and selections are hard to navigate. But down to the real issue. They have zero customer service. Even if you go to the About Is page and call the number, it's literally just a recording saying they don't do customer service over the phone. What?! You can't do any kind of customer service with the website either except to initiate a return.
My issue was I needed a connecting rod. Ordered it, and the shipping I picked said 2-4 days. Checked tracking 2 days later and it said 7 days, and that the order had just shipped out that day. We were in a time crunch to get the rod to my mechanic and didn't have 7 days. So I bought another one from the dealership for $75 more, and then the one I ordered showed up the next day at 3 days. I get that shipping is out of your hands but when time is a factor and you tell someone 2-4 and the tracking shows 7, and you don't even give people an option to check up on it and see if the tracking is legit it's a problem. And what's really messed up is I could have had Summit transfer it from another store in 3 days and saved $75 and all this headache. Rock Auto isn't a real company, it's a middle man that relies on shipping by outside carriers that they have no control over. Don't waste your time using them, just buy local. It's not worth the $5-10 you're saving.

I purchased and installed a fuel pump from RockAuto. The fuel sending unit that controls the fuel gauge was defective, so the fuel gauge did not work. I completed the return/ exchange form on their website, and attempted to return the fuel pump, but UPS would not ship it because it smelled like gasoline as a result of being submerged in gasoline when it was installed into the gas tank. Customer service instructed me to clean the fuel pump with soap and water and let it dry and attempt to ship it again, but the pump still smelled like gasoline since there are internal compartments, that cannot be accessed properly to thoroughly clean it. I explained this to customer service, but have received no reply. Even if I was able to return the pump, RockAuto would not pay return shipping or shipping for the replacement part.
I ordered a new headlight for my car. It got to my house and I proceeded to put it in. When I plugged in the blinker light, it didn't work. I pulled out the old blinker light, and plugged it back in, and it worked just fine, so I know that it is an issue with the part from RockAuto. When I get on to request a new electrical set up for the headlight, they don't have the option for it. I just have to return the light, but I HAVE TO PAY THE RETURN FEE. So, because they sent me broken garbage, I have to eat the cost of it, or PAY TO SEND THE GARBAGE BACK. They have no customer support to speak of. Stay far far away from ROCKAUTO. They are not worth the hassle.
Rockauto doesn't take accountability for any of their wrong doing. Ordered $500 worth of parts, they split the shipment into 5 different packages. I paid $150 for expedited 2 day shipping. I received 4 out of the 5 packages by the expected date because Rockauto didn't provide UPS the package in a timely manner so I received the last package on a Monday afternoon. Now 3 days after it should've been. Rockauto is the worst experience I've ever had to deal with. Their "customer service" sucks more than my ex girlfriend, and that's saying something. "Customer service" keeps sending me the same email from different people over and over again. No resolution will probably ever come of this. Rockauto, more like rock bottom!
Would highly recommend you DO NOT order from Rock Auto. Parts were delivered weeks late and one box was badly damaged. When one box never came, order was updated to 12/20 that I could receive refund, then changed to after Christmas. This box was received damaged. RockAuto's website does not allow return of damaged(glitch) and forces payment of shipping even though package was extremely late. Would recommend if you need your car, truck repair to use someone reputable who supports customers.

Ordered felpro part #******* gasket for my '06 Express 4.3l (X) exhaust donut as listed on the RA page. Felpro Packaging specifies 4.8l and 5.3l only. Nevermind a remedy, I can't even advise/confront them on the underlying issue. Imagine being a business and thinking you don't have to answer to your customers. It's like dealing with goobermentals. I think y'all forget who the customer is. The dynamics at play are: I have the money you want. No more service, no more money, buh-bye. Auto parts I can pick up on any darn street corner... or Amazon.
Everybody thinks they can manage by ai which is stupid. Both the concept and their ai. Platform types, particularly their FAQ crap, never think they're the problem.
Pro tip for purchasing from modern amateur shippers: 'shipped' no longer means shipped. It means packaged, labeled and ready to be pickedup/transfered to shipping carrier whenever that next transition point is. UPS usually makes commercial pickups (from scheduled shipping accounts) near the end of the day. Whereas USPS likely to be more like mid day.

Ordered 8 GM intake valves #******* for a SBC. All were rusted. I asked that they inspect the replacements. They would not do this or replace the parts. Just refund. Had the same problem with some GM pistons last year. Wrist pins all rusted. They sell junk and customer service is nonexistent!

It's hard for me to convey how much in this moment I deplore this company. Along with their convoluted return policy, having to print out a return label in today's day and age where a lot of people don't have printers and the fact that they don't have any phone number to call means I never ever ever going to order from this horrible company again. It's disgusting how they separate themselves and leave the customer to fend for themselves after the purchase. You don't want to hire any customer service reps because you don't want to spend the money on it. From now on I go elsewhere and I'll keep this stupid package that I don't need.
They offered next day delivery.and I paid the 15.99$ for that service. That was a Thursday. Did not get part till Monday. They also charged me the 6.99$ standard shipping.amd when a person trys to explain the problem. This company/website runs in circles.
