After waiting 15 mins to talk to a customer service rep. We decided my ring door bell was completely broken, I've had my doorbell 1yr and 4months. I was given a code for a discount on my new ring doorbell. Then told by Dana a supervisor in the sales department that because it was on sale for a few dollars less than their full price I would be unable to use my discount code. Ok then charge me the regular price and let then use my discount code and get my doorbell. I just want my video doorbell I was told she could not manipulate the price so I would have to wait till the sale ended and she wasn't completely sure when that would be! She told I was welcome to pay full price though. Horrible customer service Dana supervisor in sales horrible Ring representative Shame on this company! I will be looking into Nest
I purchased the wired spoltlight camera. It took almost three hours on the phone and internet for the initial unit set up. Once it was in operation I realized that you can not stop it from recpording evey motion detection. No over ride. So if the kids run by it 300 times a day you have 300 recordings to delete.
After one month it quit working. I called in and spent another 2 hours on the phone before they agreed to replace my unit.
I received the unit after 5 days. I spent three hours on the phone and they never could get it to connect. We tried some silly stuff too, such as hook the plastic mounting base to it so it will work. Reboot your router, reboot your phone, etc.
Now they say they will refund it. Lets hope so. They did not even send a return shipping label to send the first unit back, They say they will email me one in 3 -5 days. What a joke. Buy a motion detector spotlight and siren instead. I habe spent $200 and about 7 hours on the phone for a few pounding headaches
If you are thinking about Ring, DO NOT DO IT! The customer service is TERRIBLE! I had to call 5 times and never talked to anyone who could understand a simple question. My device has been hardwired for 3 years and now doesn't have a live feed. Still records activity all day, doorbell rings, everything other than the live feed.
I talked to 5 agents and it literally sounded like I was calling a nightclub, there was people screaming and laughing in the background, there's no possible way the agent could even hear my issue, and they didn't really care to try.
If you have a problem, just go to YouTube or Google because the support number is absolutely USELESS!
I would give ZERO stars if I could. Customer service is a joke. They do not stand behind their products and instead offer a "discount code" for you to purchase ANOTHER of the same piece of junk that will break in just under 2 years. They do not offer to repair anything or even take the time to read your email exchange, just keep offering the same thing.
Our Doorbell Pro needs the front plastic piece replaced over the camera lens. THAT IS IT. They do not even offer that much for product support. Instead you have to purchase NEW.
SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy from ANY other company. I'm now trying to get rid of my floodcam, 5 motion lights, the ring doorbell Pro and cancel my yearly subscription. I have invested all of that and they still do NOT care about all of the money and time invested.
We have had a ring doorbell for 3 years. Last week we had to replace our router and then we needed to reinstall our ring doorbell. However, we needed a code for the reinstallation. When we called the company they would not give us a code and said we had to pay $59 for the code.
We did not ask for replacements parts, but only asked for a computer code to reinstall the doorbell. We refused to pay the $59 ransom and now we can't use our doorbell.
Beware: They cheat their customers. Buy another brand that is more honorable.
I received the Ring Video 5 days ago with nothing but problems. I have called and spoke to 8 people for 1hour or more. I hear we will call you back or try this and contact me tomorrow I did all that was asked to resolve my issue and no phone call back and does not respond to my reply. Now I have a Ring Video sitting on my counter and it is dead. I am trying to take this further to reach someone that cares but the furthers I got was a supervisor which also can care less. I am trying to get to corporate to get a hold of someone. If I cant I will be contacting the BBB which I should have checked out before buying this useless piece of tin. It amazes me what people get paid for. If you have a number for someone in upper mangerment please let me know. I will not just give my money to this company

Today I learned that Amazon who owns Ring has been not only giving law enforcement free cameras but access to who is coming and going from our homes and businesses without any even a subpoenaing for the records. This includes cameras inside the home or business.
And demanding uninvolved individuals with Ring Cameras to participate.
You cannot even go down the street ir to the our doctors appointment and be assured privacy without even expecting a warrant to cotntrol what happens in your business or home.
The person on tv had cameras set up fior motio sensor in his bedrooms for breakins and challenged the intrusion if the cameras inside his home fir the neighbors down the street.
I have had Ring Doorbells since before they were ring. I bought one called the "doorbot" which sucked, than the ring which they gave me a little discount toward since they felt bad for me getting suckered into a crap device, however, since than, not only has their product improved drastically, (still not perfect), but WOW one of the best customer services in the world! They have taken care of me many times, and they are quick to replace the unit and just make sure the client is happy in the end. A FREAKING + for customer service!
I recently received a spot battery operated camera from Ring this product is absolutely amazing the technology has improved tremendously quality of the camera is 1080 P easy to install and their special team customer service personnel were extremely wonderful in helping me with this product I thank them very much and I do recommend the spotcamera to anyone who is interested in a good security camera

Advised by police to buy 2nd Gen vid doorbell as it doesnt need haed wiring or hard fixing. Checked blurb on ad. Arrived today... requires drilling (not easy on Upvc door frame) Contacted Ring... advised have to purchase a 'no drill' mount plate. Another 17.99... pointed out thats not stated in ad. And even police addvised for that reason... wouldnt budge. Not recommend

This product goes off line daily. If you don't buy the monthly plan of $5.00 a month, it won't work!. Get google Products as RING is the worst one on the market!
Bought a hard wired ring device - worked with my house doorbell for 4 or 5 months; does not work now. Had an electrician out who said the ring doorbell needs to be replaced, Ring Customer Service keeps telling me I have to buy a "chime" package for it to work EVEN THOUGH IT DID FOR MONTHS.
After I posted a 1-star rating for the ring doorbell, someone reached out immediately to assist me. I cannot remember the name of the first lady who helped me (but she was wonderful) and she connected me with a customer service rep named Alan. He worked with me on my time frame (sometimes a couple of weeks in between due to being overly busy or out of state). I had phone appointments with him and emails. All were very detailed, very professional, and quite helpful! My issues basically boiled down to crummy wi-fi in our area (no fault of ring), but they were willing to exchange the doorbell for one that could possibly fit our needs (one that I believe was not available at the time of my original purchase). I did have an electrician come out to connect it because I didn't want to take a chance of doing anything wrong... but after watching him, I'm sure I could have done it myself. The video recording of the motion detection and doorbell ringing, the angle of the camera (it comes with a couple of plates to help with angle), etc, are all of an amazing quality.
If you're having quality issues - check your wi-fi speed. You might need the wired version, which, at this point, I highly recommend.

Oh no, this does not sound right. The way the motion detection on the Ring works is by heat detection. Setting your range this low makes your Ring look for a very large heat signature before it will notify you. Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot, however, we can assist you with honing these settings to make sure you receive the alerts that matter to you. We have had 3 systems operating for roughly 3 years now and they are all a constant problem so do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money, Nothing but an ongoing pain in the a$$
Don't believe anything you read or hear about the Ring doorbell... anything positive, that is. If I could give it NO STAR, I would. First, the company claims that its wireless, rechargeable unit will work for 6-12 months on a single charge. We are lucky to get four weeks. Next, the unit is constantly sending notifications of motion at our front door, yet when you check the video, there is not so much as a leave moving out front. Finally, when you need customer service, don't expect much, if any. You can't talk to anyone, only chat online. There is always a long delay in getting an initial reply. And when the chat service asks if you would like to be contacted by email when someone is available -- rather than sit and stare at your computer screen for endless periods -- even if you say yes, you WILL NOT get an email. Finally, you'll return to your computer out of curiosity, only to find that someone did come on the chat, but closed it because you were somewhere else waiting for an email to let you know they were available!
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
